Unfortunately our cake had multiple cracks right on top of the rainbow (as evident in the photos) which is the most obvious part of the cake. I understand that sometimes cakes might have some minor cosmetic imperfections, but this was pretty noticeably obvious. The female staff informed us there's nothing they can do about it, which was a shame especially since it was so obvious I would've thought they'd do something about it prior to giving us the cake in hopes that we wouldn't notice/mind it. Cyrus, the male staff at the front, was more courtesy, friendly, and empathized with our disappointment, which we really appreciated it, so thank you Cyrus! We always walked by this place but never went in it looked closed from the outside. My husband and I are bubble tea fans, so we were surprised to see they actually serve it. From the reviews, it seems like they're more known for their cakes, especially wedding cakes. Hubby tried the taro milk tea gave it a 2/5. He said the boba had no flavor but still managed to finish it (classic). I got the brown sugar milk tea fresh boba, soft and bouncy. I liked it better, but still just a 3/5 for me. The bubble teas are very basic, nothing fancy and toppings are basic (boba, aloe jelly, something else can't remember) with additional pricing. They don't use oat milk just lactaid. Verdict: 2.5/5 overall. Next time we will come try the cakes** Kung Fu Tea is better, but Tea and Milk still takes the crown for freshness and quality! read more

For a last minute treat, the cakes from Ten Cake Studio did the trick. My partner and I stepped in to take shelter from the rain and grab a slice of cake for my mom. The ambiance is nice and cozy on a rainy day and the service is friendly. We tried both the matcha tiramisu and classic tiramisu and both cakes were not too sweet and creamy. The cakes are also nicely presented and fairly priced. The strawberry shortcake that I got for my mom was good too. Cute Asian bakey/cafe. I like how serene it is inside. It's small so I would suggest coming here just yourself or with 2 other friends max for coffee/tea and dessert. They are a little pricier here - $10.95 for a matcha latte and small matcha red bean panna cotta. However, their matcha latte was exactly how I like it - not too bitter or sweet, creamy, and cozy. Their panna cotta and strawberry shortcakes are very light. The chocolate butter cakes is a bit dry and fell apart when cutting it. This is the only place I know that makes yogurt cream cakes, and it's awesome if you prefer cakes that are light and not too sweet. They are easy to do business over instagram messaging when ordering cakes. For about $170, I've gotten these amazingly looking 8x6 cakes good for 12 people. They do an amazing job on decorating cakes! Staff and owner are always friendly. read more

Thank you to Ten Cake for being open late and saving a last minute planner from utter failure (because we promised to bring a cake to a July 4th BBQ). They were able to make the cake in an hour and add the American flag to it as requested. I like that they also took it upon themselves to add sprinkles; it's a nice touch! The strawberry shortcake I ordered is creamy yet not cloyingly sweet and nothing like those American-style strawberry shortcakes, as this one is more fresh and spongy. The thing that irks me a bit is that it tastes very similar to Chinese bakery cakes. The total for the 8" cake, plus the decal, was $60. We're not sure if the taste was special enough to justify the price. read more

Stopped in for a Halloween treat! Cozy little shop with lots to drool at. Tonight we got a Oreo cupcake and a crème brûlée. Both were tasty. Frosting on the cupcake wasn't my taste (a little too airy) but the cake itself was delish! Crème brûlée had a nice balance and the caramelized sugar on top was perfectly crisp. The matcha tiramisu was delicious. The cake layers were flavorful and moist, the matcha layers were super fluffy. I liked that it wasn't too sweet. The cheesecake tasted fresh and creamy. The whipped topping tasted homemade and the burnt top added a nice texture. I had ordered a birthday cake over the weekend for my son's 1st birthday at this place. All I requested was for a naked cake (simple, no fancy decoration or design) with fresh strawberry AND cream inside. I went in person to place my order and a kind worker helped me through this process. I specifically told him exactly what I wanted and showed him the photo of the cake - the worker was the one who filled out the cake order form for me. I paid the deposit and left. The cake was ready for pick up Saturday afternoon, from the outside it was exactly what I had ordered but little did I know, the inside of the cake was NOT what I ordered and found out when it was too late. We celebrated my son's birthday Sunday, after singing "Happy Birthday" we cut into the cake and come to find out there was VERY PINK AND VERY BRIGHT icing inside. Absolutely no fresh strawberries at all, and the filling looked and tasted very artificial. My husband and I were very disappointed because I spent almost $300 for this sorry excuse of a cake. I called Ten Cake Studio and explained the issue to them. All they could do was apologize for this mishap and miscommunication, and said they will do better to explain to customers the difference between strawberry cream and real strawberry fruit with cream. I told them I didn't want a full refund because I know the work it takes to make a cake, I at least wanted my deposit back due to the fact I purchased something that was underwhelming and not what I had ordered. They apologized again and refused to give back any money. Insane read more

I was super excited to learn that a new pastry shop was opening in the upper reaches of Bay Ridge - adding to the small but growing collection in the neighborhood. I just happened to be walking by this past weekend and saw that Ten Cake Studio was open. Yellow, yellow, yellow. The shop is decked out in wall to wall in yellow. It's very cheerful and feels exceptionally like summer. There are a few tables and chairs, one person was sitting while I was there. There's a big mirror against one wall and the pastry case against another. Everyone was wearing masks (and wearing them properly). The pastry case is STACKED. Macarons, cakes, cookies, brownies. It's got everything. There's even a selection of drinks, including teas and slushees I bought a chocolate chip cookie [$2] and a creme brûlée [$4.50]. Honestly, the chocolate chip cookie was nothing to write home about, but that creme brûlée gave me life. It's the perfect size. You don't feel like you're gorging yourself but rather you're treating yourself to something indulgent. They torch the top just as they're packing it up so it's got that satisfying crack when you tap into it. The custard had such a good texture, it was firm enough but also creamy. It was 100% delicious. If the other cakes and pastry cups are as good as the creme brûlée, I will be a frequent customer, much to my detriment LOL. read more

I walked in last minute asking if they had a cake on the spot, the lady told me they had an 8 inch tiramisu cake that could be ready in 3-5 minutes, i paid and waited over 10 minutes. she came out and asked when i would be eating the cake, i told her in about 30 minutes and she told me then the cake wouldn't need to be refrigerated. when i cut the cake, it was rock hard and frozen. i understand getting a good cake last minute is hard but she could have told me they didn't have any cakes available or the only cakes they have available are frozen instead of forcing it just to make a couple bucks. as a customer i should have the right to know that my cake would be frozen hard and be able to make the decision if i still wanted to purchase or not. i will admit the cake was pretty good but overall dissatisfied with customer service read more

Staff is really friendly and welcoming. Probably good if you're getting a specialty cake...I'm sure. I just opted for a slice of the blueberry cheesecake and it was really fresh and tasty. Maybe I'll stop in and give their coffee or tea a try. Their individual sliced cakes, etc. are limited in variation. I paid $6.95 for a slice of cake. Been here a couple times since it opened earlier this year. Every time I stop by there's something new to the menu; thats awesome. I'd say I tried about 90% of their pastry menu, my favorites are the Burnt Cheesecake and Tiramisu (both original and matcha). Never too sweet or too bland just the right amount of sweetness. Another feature I love about this store is the ability to customize not only cakes but also their drink. I'm hooked on this drink I customized and just kept on ordering the same drink every time I drop by for a slice of deliciousness: Lychee Yogurt Szelter with Strawberry popping boba. You might hesitate to pull on the door and, upon discovering it is in fact open, can't help but feel like they weren't prepared to open just yet. Being inside is no more inviting than outside. It's incredibly dark and quiet. I'm trying to recall music, but can't honestly say anything was setting a tone for this potentially charming shop. The reason I didn't hesitate to open the door was because of this pair of outdoor seats next to the front door, which I can at best describe as cozy. This cafe has a modest but high-quality RTD case, with fresh sandwiches and quick bites, and their pastries are a work of art, aesthetically speaking. And despite a rather unwelcoming storefront, the staff is warm, patient, and incredibly pleasant. I was excited to try their cold brew coffee, but they don't produce it regularly. The baristas didn't seem to know if and when they'd be carrying it again. A bit odd for a no-frills coffee shop, but I wasn't leaving empty-handed. I took the next best thing and requested an iced coffee, but was confused when I was given an iced Americano. I can deal without the cold brew coffee, settling for a rich, full-bodied iced coffee. Their roast is super earthy and hits just right for a particular coffee lover like me. But we're talking three different brewing methods, creating three entirely different tastes. It was strange that my request wasn't explained to me, as the barista proceeded to make an iced Americano, leaving me both disappointed and frustrated, regardless of whether or not this particular coffee was good. That's not what I asked for. This entire experience left me flummoxed at best. From the visually awkward welcome to the limited coffee-style options, I can only describe my experience as disappointing. I've had their cold brew before, and it was perfection. But to not have iced coffee, especially when I've already been forced to settle, is inexcusable. With all that being said, I'm hopeful and plan on returning. For me, if you have good coffee, the lights, music, and even baristas are complimentary. We will put up with anything for quality. It's the ultimate elixir. However, I expect a bake house and coffee shop to have the bare minimum. The iced Americano was delicious. The shot was perfectly pulled and had the perfect espresso-to-water ratio. But that's neither what I wanted nor what I expected. So, who cares?

At this spot, I got the $5.95 Pain Saucisse, listed as a buttery pastry filled with beef sausage, pickles, and cheese for a savory, tangy flavor. Similar to the other suisse, it was very buttery, with there also being too much cheese. This led to the whole thing being a tad salty and oily. Outside of that, I liked the smoky sausage, and there was a faint bite from the pickle. If this were balanced better, I would have liked it a lot more. For the price, it's certainly better than the various trash Nathan's carts, but that's not saying much. If I were to go back, I would likely get either the pistachio cube, matcha croissant, or black sesame puff square. In short, a decent, fancy pastry shop.

He went over to his computer and printed it out and got started on it but doesn't really give me a lot of confidence in placing online orders in the future. The worker did apologize and I appreciate that so four stars for now. Honestly would it taste better with more sugar? Probably. I'll say you can go 50% and up. Maybe even try the full 100% sugar. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my kale drink - it was blended with kale, mango, chia seeds, and barley. The barley actually made an interesting topping with its texture. The avocado pomelo was just ok but maybe with extra sweetness it would be ok.
