I tried the cookies and a cannoli and they were delicious, and my friend raved about the pastries. I took the pastries to-go but there is seating in there. I have to say I was totally disappointed with the array of cookies packaged on top of the counter. After having to take my vehicle from a good parking spot to go there to purchase a pie and cookies, I was surprised after I opened the cookies to have with my coffee to find that they were stale and inedible, tasting more like sawdust than Italian cookies. Heard good things about the Neopolean at this bakery, so decided to give it a try. Came in to the shop and saw a wide selections of pastries, cakes and cookies. What should I get? I said out loud, the lady next to me responded: get everything. I chuckled a little and asked for the Neopolean and a chocolate covered cannoli. I thanked the lady for her positive recommendation, and left the store. The Neopolean was really tasty, inner cream filling wasn't too heavy with a subtle hint of vanilla custard. The flaky layers did fall apart fast so it made for a messy treat. I tried the chocolate covered cannoli next, it was way too sweet for my taste buds. Went in there yesterday had a danish and coffee I asked the girl behind the counter specifically about the freshness of the pastry and she said that they were fresh today made at 6 am. Now it's 11am and they are stale so science doesn't lie and the truth of the matter is the employee lied and the pastries are a good 2-3 days old. Never going back again. Totally annoyed! I had a conversation with the owner regarding my husband's 60th Birthday cake. I had a cake topper made and a few things that I requested be placed on top of the cake that represents my husband. The cake came out and nothing was there! The restaurant said they didn't give them anything. They ruined the moment!! To top if off the cake had a big crack in it possibly from the candle, but if it was soft and fresh it wouldn't of cracked. The cake was tasted stale! People were saying it wasn't good. Hands down the best place to get your sugar fix taken care of. Their fresh cream- cream puffs are by far some of the best available in all of New York City. I don't say that lightly as I find myself to be a self proclaimed cream puff connoisseur. The lobster tails are made with a lightly sweetened version of the same cream. Not that custard cream that everyone uses. All their cakes and pastries are made on premises, and the staff is always so helpful and inviting. Cash and credit are accepted. They also will do special orders. Hand dipped chocolate strawberries can be ordered a day in advance at a cost of $2.50 per. sprinkles, nuts etc are a $3.00 up-charge but they're worth it. The excuses, "We will fix it some other time. And we will be closed on August 01 to August 08 2017 for vacation. During this time, we won't be doing any renovation or anytime soon." -Nicole. I'd also spent $15 on pastries the same day that I and my girlfriend needed to use the restroom. 2)Your cheesecakes is beyond mediocre and hard. If you can't sell fresh pastries, don't put them out especially if customers are paying out from their hard earned money. 3)Only two girls working in the front of the store. Back in 2012, 6 girls in the front, a pizza oven in the back, and additional 8 to 10 tables inside. 4)There only a few customers walked in during my whole time sitting there eating the pastries I'd bought. Their pastries, service is going down the well. 5)It was in the mid 80's, and their air conditioner isn't even on! That's a bad sign. Before you open their door, turn around and run back! I ordered a carrot cake and a strawberry cheesecake from here for an office birthday party. I will tell you I called 3 times because I needed to 1. get pricing, 2. place my order and 3. change my order. The person on the phone was very patient with me and answered all my questions. I'll be honest: the reason I walked in here was because as I was walking past this place on my way home, the smell of freshly baked goods wafted past me and I couldn't resist the temptation. In case you were wondering or had any lingering doubt, I can confirm that I have absolutely no self-control when it comes to sweets. I really liked the mixed berry fruit tart I ordered from here. It had a crispy crust and a yummy custard in the middle. The fruits on top were really delicious and complimented the tart well. (Does it still count as a calorie bomb if it has fruits on top?!) I also really liked how I was able to pay with a card even though my total was less than $10. I'm giving four stars instead of five because the red velvet cupcake I ordered from here wasn't as soft as I would have liked (it was a little hard around the edges as if it had been sitting out for a while). I was recommended to go there for their charolette russe. I purchased 4 charlotte russe plus 4 rolls and paid $16.10. (Rip Off!) No price list. After my purchases, I couldn't wait to drive home and try the charlotte russe to flash back on my childhood. So I drove back to Long Island and opened the box. What an insult, that they had the nerve to sell a stale disgusting overpriced pastry. The "whipped" cream was OLD, and had a film on it. But even more repulsive was when you got to the cake, it was hard as a rock. It was so stale, that it was not consumable. You couldn't cut it with a fork. What a disgrace that they think that they can get away with such fraud. AND AT THOSE PRICES! I ended up throwing 3 1/2 Charlotte Russes in the garbage. They were absolutely horrible. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY 2 boxes of Entemann's. You are guaranteed fresh products. If it wasn't that I live on the east end of Long Island, I would have gone right back and demanded my money back! However, writing this review gives me the greatest satisfaction of exposing them. DO NOT PURCHASE THE OVER PRICED CHARLOTTE RUSSE FROM THERE! Most likely their other pastries are stale too.
