Everything that they make is Best of Brooklyn

Best Jewish bakery in NYC. Best bubke in NYC. Best B&w cookie in NYC. Everything else here is also amazing. I don't even like sweets, but I'm someone's connect for this place that has mobility issues.

This is a review for a birthday cake that was ordered. I requested a cake for up to 6-8 slices, the woman I spoke with on the phone was very patient and courteous while informing me what they can do. When I came to pick up the cake, it was very lovely and I was completely happy with the results. The chocolate sponge cake was moist and the cherry pudding or filling wasn't overly sweet. Everyone enjoyed. Will be ordering more birthday cakes from here in the future.

The challah bread here is seriously baked in heaven. While I am not a big fan of there cookies by the pound at all... the smell of there bread and the fluffiness just put Ostrovitsky on a whole different level of amazing. The bread is one of the best breads I've ever had in Brooklyn. The aroma of fresh baked bread will fill your car when your purchase them. The hamentash specifically the prune is so delicious and is so soft it melts in your mouth. Cash and credit accepted. Lines are very long on Friday but they have staff and lines move fast. If you can avoid going alone go with someone on Friday's because finding parking is a MESS. Specifically Friday before the "Shabbat rush." I definitely recommend the pull apart challah.. while it might not look beautiful the smell and taste is next level. Best if you eat it same day as it gets a bit hard and looses texture the next day! Definitely make it to Ostrovitsky!!

    Terrible packaging

I admit, the cheesecake portion of the dessert is delicious. It's not as dense as I like my cheesecake, which explains why the knife didn't come out clean when sliced. The flavor is there. What went wrong? What upset me more than the cold & indifferent service (seriously, who pissed in your cornflakes?) is the packaging. I sliced right through the thin aluminum foil it came in. Incredibly unsafe. What upset me even more (if that's even possible) is that there was no graham cracker crust! How do you make cheesecake with the best part missing? Get it together.

I have no idea what this is called, but it was seriously one of the greatest desserts I've ever had. It's flaky, chocolatey, and covered in powdered sugar-What's not to love about it? It's also a very generous portion. I am not a huge sugar fan so usually never have a birthday cake or anything like that. This year, I told my family I want one of these!! I can't wait to go back and get it again. The chocolate rugelach is also out of this world.

Oops major error did not mean to rate this place with the same review. Before a our family gathering today we picked up amazing onion roles here. Ok they are made at the Bakery so that's huge for this Brooklyn gal. The bread is fresh merging with the onions oh yeah baby.

Pastries are delicious Kokosh Cake it's a most try! Prices are pretty decent and the employees are super friendly. You can even ask for people speaking Spanish, Hebrew or Russian. Everything it's Kosher. They also offered sugar free.

The best Challah, IMO obviously, that I have tasted. It's a long walk but I go regularly. The rugelach? A delight.

First time coming in person (I have been spoiled and a fantastic coworker would bring in different…read moretreats from here on occasion). The space is relatively small, with a line inside and outside and a few tables outside. The length of the line and wait time varies based on the time of day and if you go on a weekday vs weekend. Go early if you don't want them to sell out of anything or purposely go a little later if you want one of their lunch sandwiches on focaccia. I have had the tomato and garlic focaccia twice now and each time it has been exceptional. Minor critique, the slices of garlic could be a bit smaller. I also had the shakshuka focaccia which is divine and I would absolutely recommend both. I need to come back to try their sandwiches as well. I am not a sweets person, but everyone I know loves their pastries. Getting someone a gif tcard here makes for a great gift.

Dropped by Radio Bakery on the Tuesday morning after Memorial Day and the lines weren't too crazy…read more I got there in time to grab some breakfast items and baked goods, and then waited at a table outside for the lunch items to get set out around 11AM. I'm usually more of a savory girlie but all the sweet items we tried were great, especially the rhubarb croissant and the earl grey morning bun. I really enjoyed the focaccia sandwiches (smoked salmon and pea/mint/feta were elite) and the artichoke green garlic slice. The flavor of the sesame stirato was excellent but the bread itself was a tad too chewy for the filling we got with it (tuna salad), so that style probably works better with the jambon beurre. Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol! We'll see :)

Radio Bakery... is perfection. I completely understand the line…read more I first ordered the heirloom tomato & feta sandwich, which was unbelievable. It is so clear that they use incredibly high-quality ingredients and carefully curate each component, which is exactly why everything comes together in such an elevated way. The tomatoes reminded me of the ones I grew in my garden during California summers as a teenager. Perfectly salted, layered over soft, not-too-tart feta. The focaccia was made with beautiful olive oil and, while a bit chewier than I usually prefer, gave the sandwich a satisfying bite. I had to close my eyes while eating it just to savor it. The chocolate cherry almond croissant... wow. Such a creative combination, and it did not disappoint. Soft, buttery, and filled with a sour cherry compote that reminded me of a cherry cordial from a box of chocolates. 5/5. Hainsley, who helped me, was exceptionally lovely. Everyone even in line was very nice, the vibes were awesome. I'll definitely be back to try the spicy tofu sandwich and the heirloom tomato tart!

I went to Radio Bakery twice in a week recently and I am not mad about it…read more Loves: + The croissants are so good. Had the blueberry & corn ($9) and seasonal heirloom tomato ($8) and enjoyed them both. + My personal faves are the cheesy pretzel bearclaw ($6.50) and the shakshuka focaccia slice ($9) + Staff is quick and efficient and the long line outside is well organized The reality with Radio at both locations is there will be a wait. Line moves relatively fast but the slowdown is people deciding what to get, so I recommend looking at the menu in advance. Note about food drops: most items drop at 7:30am when they open, but late morning focaccia (eg. tomato & garlic) drop at 10am and lunch sandwiches drop at 11am!
