Bagels and baked goods here are decent. But the issue is that nothing has prices labeled and they overcharge like crazy. Came here 4-5 times and each time same order has different prices. This is common in neighborhood but very annoying. What should be a $6 order often turns into $10.50 or similar. Label prices and charge what stuff costs. read more

This is the third time I'm personally ordering, and once a potter was ordered / gifted to us. Outstanding! The quality of food , the service , everything is 10/10. Around the neighborhood is one of the places where you can get a good bagel. But the customer service is awful. I usually wait 10-15 mins to be served. Last time i went my husband stood on the sidewalk finishing smoking and the staff was super ruse to him telling him bad stuff in Spanish (thinking we couldn't understand) like people don't have the right to do whatever we are allowed to do in a sidewalk!! Visited this bakery twice, I understand that kosher food can cost a lot, however staff here can be snubbish I don't know if its because I am not one of them because clearly even if I was the first person and someone came in with same race they get entertained right away/ first. For that reason alone It didn't deserve more that 1 star from me. Of course secondly, the bakery goods are nothing out of this world apart from being kosher but they are very pricey! 1 pc of small cookie cost me a fortune. I would never comeback to this place. I will stick to my Wholefoods cookie ( If I even crave for it) and Tous le jours with 100 % better customer service. read more

Went to go get a bagel last week and the guys behind the counter called me a "pendejo" LMAO. I figured they didn't think I knew Spanish but they were talking smack about me for no reason and I played it off like I didn't know what they were saying. The bagel was mediocre at best anyways. I work in this neighborhood and there are not too many decent lunch options that either A)taste good B) dont cost an arm and a leg While I recognize it is because of the demographic of the neighborhood and kosher food is always more money, it still doesn't make it any less of a pain in the ass for me. Pressers offers a good selection of bagels and sandwiches all very reasonably priced. I frequently get their tuna salad on a bagel. With drink it comes out to around 7 bucks. Ordered some cupcakes for a children's birthday celebration at school and their service was fantastic. The cupcakes were freshly made and a huge hit with the classroom. There was one small hiccup,(not worth going into detail), and when we called back they were overwhelmingly attentive and willing to go above and beyond to make matters right. This is one place that is still refreshingly very old-school in the way that they do business. It makes you want to frequent them always and recommend friends and family. Give them a try! read more

I live about 1/2 hour from this bakery. For many years I would drive to get cakes and challahs here. I went today for the first time in two years to buy cake to bring to a friend. Much of their items were prepackaged in plastic containers. I purchased a marble cake, which I've always loved. The selection of baked goods were minimal. When it was served, I was terribly upset. The cake was terribly stale. I will never go back here again. Very disappointing! read more

The coffee is terrible. I don't recommend. It takes like coffee flavored water. The bagels are big and really good. My only wish is that the butter was salted. Currently, the butter is unsalted so when you get a toasted bagel with butter it just tastes like a bunch of oil on bread. The guys behind the counter are always nice to me and it seems to be busy most of the time. There's a bakery attached to the bagel store which always smells good when I walk by. read more

I'm not sure what to mention first, the bad service or the bad bagel. I've heard a lot about New York City bagels, and so I wish I had tried them anywhere else for my initial experience. The guy working the bagel counter treated me like he didn't want me in the shop, and that I was annoying him. Sure, this was my first bagel shop experience and so maybe I didn't know exactly what I wanted but he had no patience for my questions about their menu, usually just replying with a one word answer. The bagel itself was pretty bad, and I think has put me off them for the foreseeable future. I'll make sure to not recommend this place to any friends visiting the area. read more

Their cookies are AMAZING! The only problem is that my boyfriend brings 2-3 boxes at a time and they're irresistible. It's not exactly great for my figure, but the cookies themselves are great. This place is ridiculous. I would like it except they put a thin layer of cream cheese which you can barely taste and then charge more if you want a normal amount. Every single bagel place I've ever been to puts a good amount of cream cheese. The server actually started arguing with me when I asked for something other than a thin amount, ridiculous. I don't know why anyone would give this place less than 5 stars. They have the best bagels I have had in NYC (that means all 5 boros) at a very fair price (and their cheese danish is not too shabby at all!). They are woven into this very local highly orthodox Midwood neighborhood. Take the Q train to Ave M and you will think you are in Jerusalem. And you can make this journey a double peak experience by including a visit to Di Fara's Pizza, which is adjacent to the Ave J stop (and a sort ten minute walk). read more

Someone just brought what was the best Hannukah Sufganyot I have ever tasted into my office. I freaked out a little bit, wiped the powdered sugar off my nose and calmly asked where they came from. I know nothing about Presser's other than this. No one has reviewed them yet? Is there actually a store? I have no idea. What I do know is that if you want insanely good, moist, perfectly jellied sufganyot, you cannot go wrong with Presser's. read more

I had to place a large order for a party. The customer service is terrific. I wish they had a website or a menu to make large orders a little easier, but the owners were so helpful it was almost unnecessary. I got a little treat for myself while I was in there, a sweet roll. Great little bakery. Excellent babka and ruggellah. The Chinese cookies, especially the marble ones are great as well. They also make a solid black and white. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because their bagels aren't that great. They aren't bad, but the bagel place next door makes much better ones. This is our synagogue's store for choice for catering most dairy kiddushes or meals. Bagels, onion rolls, and challah rolls come sliced most times, and they're always fresh, although the bagels aren't that good, especially when compared to other stores in the area. They arrange very nice fruit platters, rugelach trays, and cookie platters. The cakes are very good and pleasing to the eye, although I found the rugelach to be dry. The cream cheese platter has always a nice variety of spreads, including butter, plain cream cheese, vegetable cream cheese, and olive cream cheese, and sadly, on a recent occasion, the olive cream cheese had an odd plastic texture and weird, off flavor. Marble cake is always moist and a winner from this store. The jelly donuts we got from there for Chanukah were as heavy as door stoppers, real belly bombs that linger in the stomach like lead bricks. Greasy and filled with that generic red fruit-flavored goop. The lukshen noodle kugel is pretty good, crispy on top, although I wish they made a dairy version with farmer's cheese, butter, and sour cream, instead of the parve version currently being offered. Presser's, though, tastes like the memories of my synagogue, and should our shul have to close due to dwindling funds and membership, Presser's will always provide a taste of home for me.
