A new bakery hits Bensonhurst's Chinatown strip with a home style hometown 'Nana made it' twist on treats, along with some classic bakery desserts, like crepe cakes, eclairs and Swiss cream rolls. Add some Tong Sui pudding like desserts, and you have a bit of everything. Though none of the tong sui were classic old school flavors like black sesame or red bean. Most have the new fangled bubble tea gum jellies as a feature. The inside is decorated in lots of white and pink which is Nana's favorite color. A plethora of pink congratulations flower bouquets decorate the outside of the store. Seating. There are a few white tables and chairs, spacing is tight. Bakery space is on the small side. A table for people to sit at, is placed right in front of the cake display counter, so it's difficult to get a good look at the available cakes and desserts. It was definitely awkward leaning over someone who was sitting there. Service. Fine. Friendly and helpful. Prices. On par with most other bakeries selling these products. Everything is expensive now. Uniqueness. If you like durian, they have quite a few different desserts with it. I'm interested in trying out the pandan durian cheese mousse cake.

A true hidden gem-- Nana's durian mochi is so good, we've had to call ahead a few times to ask if she has any left for the day because they often are sold out. The mochi skin itself is super soft and delicate while the durian mixture is a perfect generous balance. Don't miss out on her cakes too!

The mochi skin was sooooo deliciously thin, the cream was smooth and the mango was so ripe.

Radio Bakery is a very popular bakery in Brooklyn. This has been my second time and each time there…read morewas a line outside, however it moves quickly and the space inside is very small. Even though there is a line, you do not feel rushed or pressured to order quickly. On this visit we ordered plain croissant, chocolate croissant-fresh out of the oven, rhubarb croissant, black forest pastry and brown butter corn cake. The chocolate croissant was amazing. It is triple chocolate and cocoa powder is in the dough. It is filled with milk and dark chocolate, so creamy. The plain croissant was flaky and light. The brown butter corn cake was crispy and caramelized on the outside and soft and moist. The Black Forest croissant is a seasonal offering. It is made with their Triple Chocolate Croissant filled with chocolate cake and sour cherries and topped with mascarpone cream , Rhubarb & Custard Croissant . It is tart and sweet. The rhubarb is roasted and complimented with sweet vanilla custard. They all were excellent. Each were about $8. Highly recommend and don't let the line deter you .

First time I have walked by and there isn't a like so of course I had to go in. Went with the bacon…read moreegg and cheese focaccia. This was delicious but they should definitely keep it on a warming tray or something! It was nice and cheesy with a good amount of the bacon and a whole egg inside. Also had the peach iced tea (doesn't come sweetened but they have options on the bar opposite the register. Service was quick and friendly I was in and out. Grabbed a spot on the bench under the tree to chow down.
