Pistachio knaffa roll
Elaine T.

Lovely local business with unique pastry offerings as well as lunch options! This is a grab-and-go spot with no seating. My friend and I wandered here looking for a snack to tide our hunger and got the barazek (sesame cookie) and the pistachio knaffa roll. The barazek was great, but the knaffa roll was outstanding. I was afraid that it would be way too sweet due to the spun sugar, but it was balanced out well with the filling inside. In general they have a large selection of popular and unknown pastry items as well as hummus and other dips in the fridges. The prices are very affordable at about $2-3 per pastry. Definitely want to stop by here again to try their spinach pie and other pistachio desserts.

Spinach & Feta Pie

I came here to buy some Syrian desserts for my friend. There are not many Middle Eastern businesses left on Atlantic Ave so it was nice to go to one. I ordered a bunch of popular desserts: walnut baklava, pistachio baklava, almond baklava, bird's nest, and lady finger. I also ordered a spinach and feta pie for myself. You can get it warmed up which was nice. The desserts were very pretty and were not too sweet. The spinach and feta pie was very tasty especially if you get it warmed up. The prices were very good, about $2 per item. Service was very friendly and fast. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area!

Lovely small biz. Purchased spinach pie, falafel n backlava. All delicious. Highly recommend this neighborhood gem. Wish I could get this good food in CA

The man working here was so nice, he gave me my food and assured me that it was excellent and then instructed me to not share it based on the quality. It was only 8.50 for a falafel sandwich and baklava. In Brooklyn. The sandwich was pretty great -- not the most elevated flavors, but all of the ingredients were excellent and tasted fresh.

Just two doors away from Sahadi's is this little Pastry Shop that's been in business since 1930 which I'm surprised that I have failed to notice until today. You will discover a large selection of savory pies and a wide array middle eastern desert pastries. They are all very reasonably priced and of the highest quality.

I absolutely love this place! We're lucky to have this Middle Eastern bakery & shop in our neighborhood. Their selection of pies, pitas, dips, desserts, and hot menu items are fantastic. We're partial to the meat pies (less so on the spinach pies, which are a bit too acidic for our tastes), pistachio baklava, and pitas (soooo fresh and soft!). Also, the service is outstanding! The owners are super friendly. I visited Damascus last month to stock up for a small dinner party with my parents out on Long Island and ordered a bunch of items, including 5 baklava squares. The owner rounded it up to a half dozen (1 square free of charge).

The pistachio baklava is next level good. I've also tried their kanafe and a chicken pie, both good but the baklava reins supreme to me.

What vegan/vegetarian options do they have?

I saw a sign for a vegan savory pie and for a vegan turmeric cake while I was there. They put signs so you know and they are more than willing to answer any questions!

Radio Bakery is a very popular bakery in Brooklyn. This has been my second time and each time there…read morewas a line outside, however it moves quickly and the space inside is very small. Even though there is a line, you do not feel rushed or pressured to order quickly. On this visit we ordered plain croissant, chocolate croissant-fresh out of the oven, rhubarb croissant, black forest pastry and brown butter corn cake. The chocolate croissant was amazing. It is triple chocolate and cocoa powder is in the dough. It is filled with milk and dark chocolate, so creamy. The plain croissant was flaky and light. The brown butter corn cake was crispy and caramelized on the outside and soft and moist. The Black Forest croissant is a seasonal offering. It is made with their Triple Chocolate Croissant filled with chocolate cake and sour cherries and topped with mascarpone cream , Rhubarb & Custard Croissant . It is tart and sweet. The rhubarb is roasted and complimented with sweet vanilla custard. They all were excellent. Each were about $8. Highly recommend and don't let the line deter you .

It's also difficult to see all the items since everyone is packed in a line even when you get into the store. The food itself: - cardamom bun was yummy, a bit too cardamom forward though. 3.5/5 - the pb and J croissant was cool, a bit too rich for my liking but I admire how different it was and I actually had to save this one for the next day and it was still good so 4/5
