The pita is super soft, and just a bit sweet. I got a bunch of it so my kid's school could do a kind of mezze platter for Arab American month. I did my homemade hummus- which everyone usually loves- and got some other stuff. The kids loved the pita. I should have gotten loads more. And I got schooled in my own personal hummus competition: I put out 1 tub from Mideast, and a tub of my own. Lost badly! First off, hands down the cleanest freshest home made Lebanese food, prices are more then fair food has best quality ingredients not overly seasoned like eating at a Lebanese household and the grandma cooking. Such a nice family too, they grew up in bay ridge, it's great to grab some ready made food bring it home and eat it's also 1/4 the price of tanoreen and 10x better. The best home made bread. Oh no, I thought I wrote a review for this place already. Well, this place is a gem. The husband and wife owners are so sweet and helpful. I have only been there twice and I came out the shop with more than expected. I travel there for their incredible pita bread which is homemade in the shop. It is the most pillowy bread EVER! They also have homemade hummus , baba ghanoush, baklava, pies, olives and more; which are all awesome. I will be loyal to them as long as they're there; closed on Sundays though. read more

This is the best pita bread you can find on the planet. Better than anything in downtown Brooklyn, or in NYC or in Paris or any other haven for the Lebanese diaspora. The meat & spinach pies are excellent. Great kibbie - pan-baked -like homemade. Also does Simpson and zat'ar exceedingly well. The oven in the back should be in the Smithsonian. Base on a recommendation, I came here for their sesame pita bread and it completely exceeded my expectation. I'm surprised there are no recent reviews! This place has been renovated in the past year or so. Still family owned and they are wonderful people. The pies are so yummy and always fresh! They have a great selection of middle eastern spices, condiments and ingredients. They also have olives by the pound (haven't tried yet but they look really good) I've also indulged in their baklava both walnut and pistachio are deliciousssss and perfectly sweet. I like the pistachio better but only because that but packs more flavor imo. Yummy date cookies too! They are known for their delicious and fresh pita bread of course. Because I commented in another review about the bread that makes the second best toast, I had to comment on the place with hands down the best toast (which also happens to be the best Syrian bread In the world). It is impossible, if you are within an hour drive from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, to not stop by and pick up 3, 4, 5 dozen loaves of this stuff (if they let you take that much), and be sure to try the sesame bread as well, you will not be disappointed. If you go early enough, it will still be warm, which makes it compulsory to open a bag and eat a loaf immediately (be sure to smell the inside first). The bread also brings back memories of childhood trips to Brooklyn to visit my grandparents--featuring ample amounts of Middle Eastern food, psomi kai tyri kai aggouri, and marathon matches of the card game "Contact." read more

Sad to have to write this review. They have the best pita in Brooklyn. But I've walked by three times in the last few weeks and every time the people behind the counter are without masks, so I haven't gone in. Not even masks on their chins that they could have pulled up. There is some plexiglass up but that is not sufficient to prevent droplet spread. Sadly we will not be returning until after Covid, unless the staff start wearing masks. read more

If you love Middle Eastern Bread, then this is the bakery to go. My favorite is the small triangular Sesame Seed bread. So soft because all their breads are fresh and fly off the shelves. Important to go early otherwise they get sold out. The Zatar Bread is delicious because of the tangy taste to it. I know the couple who own and run the bakery for years. We loved everything we ordered from here! All breads and dips are delicious, desserts are excellent as well. Everything tastes very fresh and homemade, especially the triangle breads that we use for dipping and with grilled meats. Overall this is an awesome little bakery that had great service and has never let us down with any foods we tried. The owners are really welcoming and down to earth, it has the feeling of a little bakery in Lebanon that's run by one family and they handle all the cooking and baking themselves. My only advice is be careful to keep in mind when ordering that it can get a little pricey depending on what you're buying. Otherwise this is our new favorite bakery that we plan on frequenting often! read more

This is the ONLY store to buy real Lebanese style Arabic bread. Don't get fooled by the 'name' brands. This is the real thing. We travel from New Jersey and Staten Island to make sure we get the best bread and the best ingredients for our cooking. Here's the problem. These guys know how to make Syrian food and bread, no doubt. Their simsum(sesame) bread is by far the best ever. The problem is that the older man is grumpy and they seem to treat you nice only if they know you. Do not look for hospitality or a smile just good food. Yes, it is pricey.
