This bakery has the best authentic sweets! There's a huge variety and the owner is so friendly upon answering any questions and explaining what's what. I ordered some to eat in the cafe with mint tea. I also ordered some to take home. The custard filled coconut one is delicious. I also had the almond cake, date filled, and some baklava. The inside is cute there's plenty of seating to sit for a while and enjoy the pastries. There's also some packaged snacks for sale near the counter. Definitely a must stop if you're visiting the area and a return to if you live nearby!

My friend and I were in Bay Ridge for our monthly dinner outing. We tend to try multiple places in an evening. I had been to the Nablus location in Paterson and really enjoyed it. As our night was winding down, I realized that we couldn't head back to the suburbs without getting kunefe. The owner was a pleasant gentleman and mentioned that his cousin owns the Paterson Nablus. We discussed Palestine a bit and then settled in with a couple pieces of delicious kunefe. The melted cheese was perfect and the crust was just right, topped off with sweet syrup, it's a hard dessert to beat. I enjoyed it so much, I grabbed a tray of baklava to share with my family at home.

A visit to NYC as I'm craving some Palestinian sweets and what place to go Is named after the city it was born!! Knafa with cheese is LIT!! Also the semolina topping kind which is ok- but I love the vermicelli noodle one. Prices are moderate and it's worth every bite. I recommend heating it up in the microwave and pouring extra syrup that they generously give you. 10 Stars!!

Was nearby and always wanted to try Knafeh. It was open surprisingly late. I got both two types of Knafeh and ended up getting a bunch of other sweets too. I unfortunately didn't have a menu and the names were a bit beyond what I could remember, but everything I had was pretty solid. The lady was nice enough to put up with questions and get me a little bit of everything. I don't have anything to judge against, but I tried both types of Knafeh. One had cheese shredded and baked on top. I felt it was better than the one without it. Hope to learn more about it and try it again, either here or elsewhere.

a cure for homesickness if i have ever seen one. i had never been here before but felt nostalgic as soon as i walked in. i could smell the freshness of the sweet breads and rose and simple sugar syrup as soon as i walked in. the television was playing the news channels that my father and uncles listen to, and i forgot i was in new york. the young man behind the counter showed me pastries i had not noticed behind the counter, and detailed every kind of baklava they had (and it was an expansive assortment). the 3awameh (fried dough balls) were so delicious i contemplated buying them to freeze and take to california to my father. but i decided ill have to bring him in the future. the 7alawet el jibn (sweet cheese) was our absolute favorite. my friend ended up buying a whole other box to take home just after eating one piece. and everything is sold by weight equally which is so generous to price at these days. for reference, i've been to similar shops who charge $3 a piece for 7alawet el jibn and our whole box pictured below was $8. i can't wait to come back and make room in my suitcase.

I certainly did not know kunefe came in so many delectable varieties until stepping foot in this popular bustling Palestinian bakery. On this round a prior meal precluded me from sampling every variety, but the cheese and date renditions were enough to whet the appetite for a return visit.

Chocolate Baklava. The Brooklyn branch of Nablus Sweets would be the first non-Greek establishment where I've tried the Chocolate Baklava. I would have loved it even more if the chocolate had been darker and of higher cocoa content (it would contrast well with the Pistachio filling) or served as one of the many layers, but still the Baklava is good and flaky. I would normally not review another branch of Nablus (beyond the flagship one in NJ), but another review is merited for the fact that the two don't share the same kitchen and have slightly different desserts available, the Brooklyn branch carrying a larger proportion of western cakes and pastries as well. I was pleasantly surprised to see two warm trays of Aziza and Shehad emerge from the kitchen for I had suspected that all the baking would be done in the NJ location. There were also different/additional choices available for the Harissa (the semolina cake) and the refrigerated case also had the rice pudding (Rizb bil haleeb) and the Muhallabiya that I've not found in the NJ location during my few visits. The Muhallabiya was in fact so light that I wondered whether I had gotten the sugar free version! I still prefer the NJ location, which probably sees more turnover and foot traffic. Not to mention that while the service is competent in the Brooklyn branch, it lacks the warmth of the staff at the New Jersey outlet.

Best (if not the only) Middle Eastern pastry shop that I know of. Nablus is a unique pastry shop that offers a variety of freshly baked Middle Eastern pastries. Everything is made fresh and baked in house, you can choose a variety of a pastry's to enjoy with some Tea or coffee... their middle eastern desserts are all unique and most likely nothing like any other pastry you have tried before. Their pastry's are flaky yet dense, sweet and made fresh with ingredients like pistachios, figs and honey. Their Keneffa is a must try, made fresh in house with imported cheese from the middle east. Keneffa is a Soft cheese that is served warm with honey... its their specialty. They sell their freshly baked desserts by the pound, don't be shy, make sure to order a little bit of everything. This is a hidden gem in Brooklyn.

OM NOM NOMM!!! Baklava and semolina cakes galore! Flaky, syrupy, caramelized, nutty goodness can be found here. I will be holding out on all future ethnic dessert purchases until I can return to this establishment.

Definitely came here to try out the baklava everyone's raving about. I love baklava- one of my favorite desserts. I think I'm used to eating them from a Greek place, where there's more crispy phyllo on top, so I was a little disappointed here. I tried their mixed nuts and pistachio baklavas. They were both really sweet, which is pretty normal for baklava. The mixed nut one had a sponge cake bottom, a pretty big layer of nuts and chewiness, then only like two layers of phyllo on top. The pistachio one was sweeter even, and didn't get to taste much pistachio. Mixed nuts one was better. They were decent, pretty small pieces, and it's cheap here! I got 8 pieces for only $6. They weigh by the pound.

When I open this , found inside found the green is not the natural color.

The knafeh was life-changing. I live super far from Bay Ridge but I plan on coming down a lot just for that sweet cheesy bite.

We also tried the new Artichoke and Green Garlic Foccacia ($9), and the Fennel and Sausage Foccacia ($9). I get their foccacia slice every time I'm here and they never let me down. On this visit we ordered plain croissant, chocolate croissant-fresh out of the oven, rhubarb croissant, black forest pastry and brown butter corn cake. The chocolate croissant was amazing. It is triple chocolate and cocoa powder is in the dough. It is filled with milk and dark chocolate, so creamy. The plain croissant was flaky and light. The brown butter corn cake was crispy and caramelized on the outside and soft and moist. The Black Forest croissant is a seasonal offering. It is made with their Triple Chocolate Croissant filled with chocolate cake and sour cherries and topped with mascarpone cream , Rhubarb & Custard Croissant . It is tart and sweet. The rhubarb is roasted and complimented with sweet vanilla custard. They all were excellent. Each were about $8. Highly recommend and don't let the line deter you .
