Taco Tuesday! $2.50 for ground beef, shredded chicken or shredded beef
David B.

Another five star review for La Pinata. We walked in at 8:55 not knowing the kitchen closes at 9. They sat us and happily and efficiently served us! This is the kind of restaurant that takes care of its customers!

Chips & salsa (regular chunky & hot salsa)
Sam H.

Came here for lunch after shopping in the area. Since it was just opening, I was immediately sat and greeted by a gentleman providing chips and salsa. I immediately requested their spicier salsa, which has a nice elevated heat level. My waitress (Marisela) then followed up asking if I wanted anything to drink. I requested iced tea, after she delivered the drink, she was ready to take my lunch order (Taco Salad w/Machaca beef). It was prepared and delivered very quickly. The machaca beef was seasoned well and there was plenty for leftovers to take home for my dinner tonight. This place has been here for years and it appears they have established a steady clientele. The service was really good. The place is a medium to large space with ample seating and offers patio seating.

I think the food is better if you dine in. The chicken stack wasn't as good in the to go container with all the flavors and sauces pushed together. Also way too many beans in this order.

Mini chimis with jalapeño cream cheese and salsa to dip.

I got food for pick up and I didn't even bring my phone with me! There are so many things that you can take pictures of, like donkey pinatas. This place has been around for a long time, according to my friend that recommended we get our lunch there. The place has got a great vibe to it! The food was delicious and filling. My friend that recommended the place is vegetarian, so they clearly have that option covered. I was not sure what I wanted, first times at places I tend to get something safe. I didn't see anything that was much safer than mini chimichangas with some jalapeno cream cheese and salsa.

Friends, Stopped into La Piñata for a quick lunch!!! I had the taco and enchilada combination. The food was piping hot, and delicious. Super fast service. My server Maggie was amazing, very attentive and provided great food recommendation. The enchilada sauce is like homemade, just perfect. The chips come out hot, with 2 large sides of salsa. Grade: A+

Tia Carlotta

I am hesitant about writing this review as this is an amazing gem I'd like to keep to myself. I was in the area while visiting my son and he suggested this place for lunch. I was hesitant when we arrived as I'm very picky. However, as soon as we walked in I was excited to try the food as the ambiance is amazing and the food looked and smelled equally amazing! We were promptly seated and were provided chips and salsa. This salsa was not like any other I had before but full of flavor. I ordered the Tia Carlotta as our server said it was her favorite when I asked about it. Be warned this plate is huge! The flavor of the tamale with the chicken and cheeses on top were to die for! I'm already looking forward to our next time in the area so I can have this again!

Friendly service. Clean place. I got the beef chimi lunch special and it was a huge plate! They provide you with chips and salsa. I asked for the spicy salsa, which I mixed with the regular salsa and it was delicious. My friend got the salad carbon (lots of steak) and it was huge as well! The steak was perfectly cooked, it melted in your mouth. Definitely a nice place to have lunch.

If you need ambiance. If you need an upscale chef. If you need a phony server. It's not here... What you will get is a very charming smile and a genuine greeting from this wonderful elder woman. 55 years in the business and it shows why. It's 1:30 on a weekday steady flow of all walks of life simply enjoying the simple pleasures. I live in Orlando, Fl. grew up in So Cal. traveled extensively. I know Mexican food, it's my favorite! For Tex Mex this was everything one can dream of and leave this place wowed. Again nothing fancy, just simple old school culinary execution from family tradition and it shows. I believe this is why the locals gather. Great portions and on point in itself. Just go and try simple as that.

Cheese Crisp(soft)

This place is fantastic! You walk in and the ambiance is the pretty standard local Mexican restaurant vibe/décor, always welcoming and friendly. For the food from the cheese crisp appetizer (they have two ways of serving, soft or crispy, you decide) to a plate of cheese/onion enchiladas with refried beans (they definitely do not skimp on the cheese) or even some red chili con carne. It's all great! Service has never let me or any of my companions down. We rarely have to wait for a table/spot at the bar and even when there is a wait for a table it always seems to move rather quickly. Needless to say this place has been added in to my rotation of local spots.

The second one tasted "clean" or like it was supposed to taste. The Burger & Fish Tacos were full of flavor & freshness! I loved their fries b/c crispy on outside & soft on the outside. Missing their Guac & Chips Starter that was on former menu tho. We gotta commend the F&B Manager here! He overheard us talking to the waiter about the differences in the Charred Beet Salads & told us why: one was on the grill too long & he only knew that b/c he was in the kitchen watching them make it. He appreciated us sharing about the nuanced difference in how salads tasted & comped one. Wow - this is really going above & beyond: caring enough to have a convo w/ diners, acknowledging their palates detecting the difference AND making it right, b/c as he said "both should taste the same, like the second one." A commitment to excellence and consistency is a rarity. Overall, Lylo Swim Club outdoor bar/restaurant is a little oasis tucked away amongst so much greenery and beauty! You would think being outside they would have someone buss since there were bugs swarming everywhere. The Dole Whip drinks you would assume the alcohol would be mixed in but just poured on top. Service was honestly extremely disappointing usually I can give them some grace but this was just... wow! Then I go to pay and there were several items on my bill that were never ordered. Mind you never got silverware or napkins so we were using the towels. 25 minutes for a can of beer mind you. Place could have potential but would need several more servers and maybe individuals that are equipped to even do the job in the first place. $300 for actually a slap in the face and no sunburn because are seats were in the shade with dirty dishes damn near on top of us. Gross, waste of money, and just disturbing. Could not pay me to come back. In addition the pool looked so alarmed I was surprised individuals were even in it, I barely let my feet in. Update : I tried to contact the hotel yesterday to get in touch with the manager, was given 3 emails all wrong. The emails never got delivered. Call the Lylo Swim Club this morning and spoke with Paul Epstein.... oh my actual god good luck. So extremely rude not helpful at all no wonder on his LinkedIn he switches jobs every few months. Some things he told me on the phone.... 1. That the dishwasher/busser was going around every 20 minutes and grabbing dishes... Wrong I saw him once 2. Explained to him that the drinks tasted like they were poisoned. He said what do you expect when you order alcohol. 3. he asked why I didn't grab a server. There were two and I saw them maybe three times only when they were delivering wrong food. He then told me that they were overstaffed yesterday pathetic. On top of that he said everyone was going there to get the dole whip drinks because of TikTok. I'm glad other people could enjoy them, but you would think since he works in the restaurant industry he would have grace for others when its impossible to please everyone. That I understand but with all of these things that went wrong a discount should have been applied. I've never experienced someone so rude and uptight. I can't even imagine someone having a bachelorette party or a birthday there I would be embarrassed to have my friends or anyone I know being in contact with this place or Paul. good luck to him.

Right on Camelback, in a little nook of a building with a book store/coffee shop attached. We entered and were seated immediately. If you read any of my previous reviews, you'll know that my wife loves oysters. Per usual, that where we started. We got the oyster and a bottle of prosecco. A few mimosas to start the day. My friend arrived almost exactly when the oysters and bottle came out. We chatted and perused the menu. We were in no rush as we drank through the first bottle. My wife got the pizza that was on the menu. I forgot what they called it, but it was good. Nice crust, a savory sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. My friend ordered avocado toast I believe or something very similar. She's a psycho path that runs 20 miles every morning so she was ready to take in carbs. She tore through it like a starving cheetah tears through a gazelle. I had an omelette which was pretty good, but nothing that knock me out of my seat. It could have used a bit of seasoning but in all decent. We ordered a second bottle and that is when their DJ began playing music. He played soft jazz which definitely was not the vibe we were looking for. None of the aforementioned mention brought this rating down to a three star review. It was all 4 star worthy accept the service was not great. Far from it actually. Don't worry I still tipped 20% as I feel it's a bare minimum, but he didn't deserve it. As I stated we were seated immediately, but it took our server nearly 15 minutes to even acknowledge us. I didn't know who it would be, but when he finally did all I could think is that he passed our table numerous times prior to stopping. Once he did there was a serious "I do not want to be here" vibe in his body language and tone. My friend who didn't arrive till the oysters and bottle were served missed that initial interaction but immediately noticed it. She an A type and wanted to complain to the manager. I got her to let it go. I know every has there days and this might have been his. Through out our stay here, he rarely checked in on us. As a matter of fact I believe we drank through each bottle before he checked in. This is the sole reason my rating went from a 4 to a 3. I hope the guy was ok, but I wish it could have been something he didn't bring to work with him. No pictures again. Sorry... I really just like to enjoy the moments with the people I am with and forget to take pictures.

The soothing decor and soft lighting created a cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a delightful meal, especially on an unseasonably hot day. We began our culinary journey with the Larb Mushroom appetizer, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The dish featured succulent oyster mushrooms tossed with roasted rice powder, fresh mint, shallots, cilantro, and a vibrant chili-lime dressing. Each bite was a refreshing explosion of flavors, combining the earthy richness of the mushrooms with the zesty brightness of the dressing. It was light, refreshing, and a perfect precursor to the meal ahead. For her main dish, my wife chose the Pad Z U, an outstanding selection that showcased sautéed broad noodles, crispy fried tofu, and Chinese broccoli, all enveloped in a delectable sweet soy sauce. The noodles were soft and chewy, creating a delightful texture that harmonized beautifully with the vegetable medley and tofu. The heat in the dish was skillfully balanced, providing just enough kick without overwhelming the palate. My wife couldn't stop raving about it! I opted for the Kua Kling, and it truly was a star of the evening. This spicy stir-fried minced chicken was enriched with fragrant curry paste, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves, resulting in an aromatic dish that was accompanied by tender long string beans and the unique Sadtor beans. The flavor profile was complex and enticing, with each ingredient complementing the others in a delightful dance of spice and freshness. It was a dish that not only warmed my belly but also left me craving more. What elevated our experience even further was the attentiveness of our server. With a genuine smile and a welcoming demeanor, they offered excellent recommendations and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Their knowledge of the menu added to our enjoyment, making the dining experience even more memorable. Overall, LeDu Thai is a culinary treasure that I cannot recommend highly enough. Each dish was exceptional, bursting with flavor and crafted with care. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a cozy ambiance makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable Thai dining experience. We arrived without a reservation and were told the wait would be about 25 minutes, which was totally reasonable. We waited the full time and checked in once, only to find the wait continuing to extend while several outdoor tables sat open. When we politely asked about our table, the host (a woman with glasses) responded with a noticeably rude and dismissive attitude. At one point, she muttered under her breath something along the lines of, "If you guys are so anxious... you can head over there," which multiple people in our group heard. It felt completely unnecessary and unprofessional. We were eventually seated at a table that was partially in direct sun, and when we asked about moving to one of the shaded tables, we were told they were unavailable and "reserved". However, those tables remained empty for over 30 minutes, which was frustrating given the situation. To be fair, there was another older woman on staff who was warm, attentive, and fantastic, and the food itself continues to be a highlight. The menu is creative, thoughtful, and one of the reasons we've come back multiple times. That said, this isn't the first time we've experienced service issues here, and it often feels like the restaurant is understaffed, which may be contributing to the inconsistency. I really want to love this place and continue recommending it, but experiences like this make it hard. Great food can only carry things so far when the hospitality side feels off. It's one thing to occasionally be understaffed (I understand people call off in this business) but there's a consistency here which points towards management issues and then on top of it, when your hostess is unnecessarily rude, that's a real bummer. We live in the Willo nearby and I don't think we're going to keep coming here if this restaurant allows the constant service issues and the rude staff like this.

For quite a few months, I had it on my list to visit. I finally made things happen on a Wednesday evening for a drink. Located on the roof (of course) of a boutique hotel, I find free parking in the hotel's parking lot. While it was a busy parking lot, I was able to find a spot. Unfortunately, my night consisted of a comedy of errors. Ambiance (3/5): When you think best rooftop in the state, you're thinking scenic and peaceful views. Don Woods' certainly has that, though I've seen better in Phoenix. You can see the mountains in the background, but that's about it. The hotel is located on a busy street, where you'll often hear the noise of cars buzzing by or the train choo-chooing. Did I just make up a word?! I imagine the best time to stop by is during sunset. The outdoor area is relatively narrow with seating for about 20-30 people. It's a mix of comfortable seats and tables/chairs. There's also a charming indoor area, where the bar is located, but I felt like I had to sit outside. The weather was perfect, too. Service (2.5/5): This is where the comedy of errors began. I was given a menu and some water and was left to peruse the menu. Before the waitress had returned, I had picked out an appetizer and a cocktail. I then discovered that their cook had quit the other week and as a result, no food was available. That's fine and all, but you've gotta give me a heads-up when giving me the menu. That way, I wouldn't have spent the time to look over the food menu and get my heart set on a particular dish. On a better note, they have free WiFi. And service was overall friendly and pretty efficient. Food (N/A): While I was unable to order some food, on most nights, they have a small menu of small plates.
