SALJU HAS EXCELLENT SHAVED SNOW…read more=============================== I am so glad Salju is still in business after all these years! It seems really popular as well. While I was there lots of people came in. I used to bring my son years ago. My selection today was a small matcha with strawberries on top. I had the choice of two items in addition to condensed milk which I love. Next time I'll pay extra for more condensed milk. It was absolutely delicious. Even though it's about twelve miles from my home I will make the trip. It's worth it. The service is great too.

A bit gooey when you pull it up; It doesn't melt quickly right in your mouth too rating: 4.7/5 - this might be on my top 2 shaved ice spot because its texture was just so unique; flavor was good and portion was massive - i really have nothing to complain about this spot and what's even better is the amount of seats and outlets in the store - has a restroom in the back - great spot to hang and chit chat - super welcoming and friendly service - service is extremely speedy IG: @nom.noms.only

The storefront itself is super cute and modern, featuring an awesome astronaut mascot and a vibrant teal aesthetic that makes it a really fun spot. As for the food, everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and refreshing. The Mango Sago Dessert (杨枝甘露) had the perfect balance of sweetness, packed with rich mango flavor and satisfying textures. We also tried both the Single Coconut Jelly (原味椰子冻) and the Double Coconut Jelly (雙吃椰子冻). They were silky smooth, perfectly chilled, and had that authentic, light coconut sweetness that isn't heavy at all.

However, I received milk with sago instead and was charged $6.49. The owner will also have access to the date and time of my order, which will help identify who prepared my milk with sago. Consequently, I will be contacting my credit card company to dispute this charge. While this process requires time, I am unwilling to pay for an item I did not receive. Sometimes I feel that senior citizens are taken advantage of, because people might think that we will not write a Yelp review and there would not be any repercussions.

The price is very reasonable. $8 The portion is enough for 2 person to share. Easy parking. Friendly service. They do offer indoor dinning. I give this place an overall 3.5/4…read more Mango Black Jelly Coconut Milk: Nothing unique and particular, just mango and black jelly. The mango is sweet but very stringy. Signature Taro Balls and Grass Jelly: the staff recommended me this after knowing I was looking for something warm, but turns out they ONLY serve this COLD. Luckily the red bean, glutinous rice balls and sago, were warm, so it saved this dessert a bit. I asked for no peanuts. It came with another type of clear jelly, it was very sweet. I didn't really enjoy it. The glutinous rice balls look like they are store bought very uniform. The price itself is nice, but the portion/bowl is kind of small. But if you ordered something with glutinous rice or some sorts of carbs in there, you will still feel full. Service was just alright. When I caught the mistake that my dessert is served as cold on the receipt, I immediately went up but was told that they have started making my order already (only about a minute since I made my order). The place itself is very cute, got great decorations. We went on a Saturday night and they were super busy, but they make their orders SUPER fast. It would be EXTREMELY helpful if they can list out the ingredients so people know what they are eating, and which ones can be served as hot to avoid confusion. Overall, I think it is not a must visit place, but if you are in the area looking for Chinese dessert then it's one of the few places to try.

I had a lovely experience at Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel). I ordered the Creme Brûlée Soufflé…read morePancake ($17.50). It's a fluffy, jiggly pancake topped with creme brûlée and glazed sugar. WOW! Each bite felt like a warm, decadent cloud. (Important Note: These Pancakes have a LONG wait. Each Jiggly Pancake had an expected 20 to 30 minute preparation time. Also, I recommend eating it dine-in. If you wait too long, these fluffy treats promptly get mushy.) I arrived at Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel) on Wednesday (11AM - Opening Time). Parking is easy. There's an underground lot for extra parking. Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Customers must pay with card and insert phone number in the kiosk, but Customers can pay cash at the counter. Dine in customers grab a metal number that's stacked between the kiosks. Staff spoke limited English, but Staff is professional, diligent, and accommodating. My order took 24 minutes. As mentioned, I love the Creme Brûlée Soufflé Pancake ($17.50). It's plated and presented lovingly and seductively. It's memorable. With each motion, I bit hard onto its fluffy, lightly sweetened body. I savored how the creme brûlée's creamy sauce dribbled. It's layered, supple, and thick. I shake the plate. It dances. On ambiance, Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel) is comfortable. There's about seven interior tables and two counters. The music is slow-tempo and gentle. And it's clean. There's also a gender neutral restroom for customers. Overall, I created lovely memories at Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel). The wait is extremely long, but I found contentment at this journey's end. If you love wiggly pancakes & have plenty of time to spare, this is an easy recommendation. 4.8 out of 5

Been to Motto multiple times and the items here from drinks to food items have all been pretty…read moresolid! Quality to aesthetics get high marks but sometimes taste is lacking. Souffle pancakes in different occasions always look so pretty, are the best everyone's ever had, some some flavor profiles don't work. Maybe that's why the menu sometimes changes. For example the yuzu grape was completely bland because the yuzu drizzle on top was a thin line i couldn't taste at all. At least put a spread between each layer or pour a lot on top like the others (eg berry or mango). The mint leaves was the most potent flavor in this dish. Over the grapes, blueberries, matcha powder, yuzu. Got the mango triple layer drink this time and if you drink it carefully, you can appreciate the contrast from the mango puree, the milk, the creamy salted matcha. If you just mix it up completely you won't get that affect. One thing that bothers me is because the menu changes I seem to always be unable to get something I'm thinking of from the previous visit. I recall last time I had some mochi and rice ball I added to a drink that was so damn good and I couldn't add it this time. Though I recall that drink being $11.50 from the add ons. The souffle pancake was $21... so place is $$ but again the quality is there. Service wise, never interacted with staff really. Kiosk to order. Drinks just sit at counter when done. Didn't call numbers. Oh they did bring the pancake, no words spoken.
