Nobody does it quite like Karena. I met her 4-5 years ago…read morewhen I desperately needed a cake for graduation and she not only made the cake in a two days notice, she completely blew my mind! If I didn't move to San Diego, she would still be my consistent cake lady. I absolutely love her! When I first ordered, she had followed-up asking if the cakes were up to par with the taste and if they lasted well. I had to say, not only was it pretty to look at - it didn't taste bad either! Usually it's a sacrifice for one or the other! I've ordered over 6+ cakes with her and will definitely continue whenever I'm in the area. The amount of buttercream flavoring choices and real fruit used inside the cake... you really can't go wrong if you order from Karena!

Have you ever looked up beautiful pieces of artwork and wondered how the artist did it? Even more…read moreso, if that artwork could be placed in your hand and be given as a gift? Karena is incredibly talented. I can't even begin to talk about my wonderful experience. I showed her a few pictures of inspiration and she told me what she could and couldn't do. Once we agreed on an inspiration picture and idea she put my specifications to work and low and behold, an absolute masterpiece! The detail on each part of the artwork was outstanding. The person I gifted it to was ecstatic. If you take a look at each picture printed and cut out perfectly, the teacup molded to the perfect size, each colored detail intricately placed, absolutely every single thing done with prose and care. Talk about a passion for what she does. You absolutely won't be disappointed. Talk about a date, talk about a time, and she will work it out with you. She communicates incredibly quickly and will be sure to make you happy!

KK is a cute bakery that's unfortunately pretty easy to miss if you aren't looking for it…read more Staff is friendly and helpful. Items are self-serve, with the exception of a few refrigerated desserts and drinks, and you pay at the counter. There are a few stools inside, but otherwise no interior/exterior seating - it's more of a grab & go type establishment anyway. No restroom. Limited parking is available in the small shared lot, or you can try to find street parking (no issues with space in the morning). Mild noise level. They offer a good variety of both sweet and savory breads, cookies, and pastries, as well as meat buns, premade and custom cakes, and a few drinks. Everything I've tried so far has been flavorful, moist, and tasty. I will definitely be back to try the cake slices. Prices are fair. This is one of my favorite places, especially when I'm buying bulk amounts to feed friends. 10/10 recommend.

This is a new asian bakery in the plaza with pho next door and haircut and water refill shops…read more Parking is terrible, ifkyk. They took over the donut shop, so inside still kinda look like it with the coffee machine and lotto. They have nice bread display though. The bread are yummy. If I'm nearby I'll definitely buy more. They have unique flavors like sticky rice bun (literally inside taste like the sticky rice chinese dessert, so far my favorite!) and I also got brown sugar boba bread. The lady is nice. I paid tap with my phone.

Writing another review because I love this place so much!…read more This year, for my mom's birthday, we decided to try something from their low-sugar series (love how this is an option!). We got the Berry Summer cake for 5-6 people for $138 and it was worth every bite. The cream is so light, the jam was delicious, and the cake was beautiful. Loved the forks, cake knife, and candles that came with the cake. Pickup was super convenient and flexible and ordering was easy (ordered 2 days prior). Highly recommend! Street parking is easy and there are some tables outside.

5 stars on packaging: Comes with cutlery, cake cutter, birthday decorations, and candles. Freesia…read moreprovided a big cooling bag with ice packs for even a 4" cake. Warning though, forks are raw edged metal so they feel harsh to the touch. Service 5 star: Nice and easy pickup. Very easy to order online with very fast availability compared to some cake ordering places that require more time. Convenient. Taste of black sesame cake 0 stars: I didn't get a clear description from my family who ate about every flavor profile but I asked if the cake was comparable to a 99 ranch cake my aunt got one year that tasted horrible. My sister didn't even want to answer which cake was worse. So I feel justified to score the cake as 0 in flavor If I didn't want to eat that 99 ranch cake and my sister said this cake was just as bad... Look of the cake: from pervious seasons, the black sesame cake looked really cute! With the spring season, the design changed. I understand the concept but... it's really not that pretty anymore. The green icing looks cheap and the flower on top looks like a weed. Compared to the fruits, nuts, and macaroon decoration from previous season, the design is worse. I bought a cake from Freesia knowing that reviews on Yelp for the taste of the cakes were a hit or miss but my brother-in-law likes black sesame and most of the reviews that mentioned the cake tasting good was of this flavor. I was treating this purchase as an experiment since I was also interested in the mango sago for my husband's upcoming birthday and he likes mango sago. Well, it was a miss. I appreciate the service, convenience, and packaging but an inedible cake is a pass.
