Croque Monsieur with Chips
Liliana S.

The food is delicious! I ordered a croque monsieur and a sacher torte parfait. The sandwich bread was perfectly toasted and the ham and cheese melts in your mouth. The Sacher torte was sweet and a great combination of textures. My only problem was that my spoon was a bit big for the parfait. It all looked just as amazing as it tasted. The service was also pleasant. I'm pretty shy so I tend not to talk too much when I order, but the staff greeted me as soon as I walked in and were friendly. I had a bit of trouble hearing the man while he was taking my order, but he was friendly nonetheless. The staff was not rude as other reviews suggest, just a bit to the point at times. Ambiance was also lovely. The interior is well decorated to feel like a little French cafe with lots of indoor seating. I chose to eat outside where they had just a couple tables. I was a little confused where I was supposed to go to order at first, but I figured it out eventually. They could definitely use some better signage for that! I came in on a Monday afternoon and it was pretty empty, which I appreciated.

Lipstick marks

The food was ok. Ambiance was ok too until the bus lady started talking nonstop and very loudly to a friend right behind us, for a long time. Then I wanted to take the first sip of my water and I noticed lipstick marks on the edge of my glass..(I wasn't wearing lipstick)! That was gross.

French Dip au Caramelized Onions - just mediocre in flavor

I ordered through Uber Eats and the food was just all right. Nothing great but just all right. The service was a bit slow and it took a while to get to my house because the Uber driver took a while to get to my house and the food was a bit cold so I had to reheat everything. I will not be ordering from here again.

I've been meaning to try La Madeleine since I first discovered it and I just so happened to be in the mood for a coffee and something sweet and remembered that I was close to it so decided to pop in. Definitely a little confusing when you walk in as you're not really sure where to go or where to stand for both dining in and takeout but I promptly figured it out. I ordered a few baked goods to go and a small cold brew and let me tell you that the coffee was DELICIOUS as were both the palmier and the linzer cookie ... literally had to stop myself from eating them all because they were that good! I'll definitely be back to dine in and try lunch.

FOOD We ordered a whole Chicken Parisien sandwich to-go, and it was ready within fifteen minutes. It was delicious-- the chicken, bacon, mayo, and cheddar meshed well wonderfully together with a rich, umami taste. La Madeleine is one of our favorite places to visit for fast casual dining, and it lives up to our expectations every time! (Especially their bakery items that are great for get-togethers or parties) SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly. There are two different counters to order-- one for dining in (left) and one for carry-out (right). AMBIANCE There are a variety of tables available throughout the store for 2s, 4s, and more. The decor is neatly organized and fits the theme. PARKING There is ample parking available in the lot in front of the establishment that is shared with neighboring stores.

Wanted to grab something quick on my work break and liked the menu offerings. I was not disappointed. The restaurant is a cross between a cafeteria style/bakery ordering and a cozy rustic atmosphere, with lots of seating in different rooms that make it feel more private and personal away from other crowds. The employees were super kind and gave me recommendations on dinner choices. I got the croque monsieur and seasonal chicken salad and both were delicious and exactly what I was looking for. The pricing was affordable. And the bakery still had dessert options despite being 1 hour to close. I really liked this place for my first time there, will definitely be back as there were so many options on their menu and bakery that I wanted to try. Definitely recommend.

There is no coffee in this latte for sure
Celina S.

I came here to get a iced latte with almond milk and one pump of sugar-free vanilla and I walked out with us and they insisted that they put coffee in it, but there is no coffee in here overall the vibe was really weird and I would like for the business to correct us because I know sometimes are tough but it's also unacceptable

A little unorganized. Staff was not very helpful to us first-timers - even after we said we didn't know how this worked. Maybe we just caught the wrong shift, or they're so used to regulars they don't reach out to ask if help is needed, or they are just tired of their jobs... ‍ That being said, I loved the decor. It felt like a cozy, warm, "underground" cafe with a touch of library/study tones which invited one to sit and linger - alone, maybe to read while eating; or with friends, to chat and visit over comforting food... And we loved the food. The eggs, where applicable, were light and fluffy. The dishes flavourful, and the dish selection was varied. This was also where the not knowing how this place worked kind of bit us. What I ordered was apparently on the "cafeteria line" and therefore was given to me immediately at the cash register after paying. My husband's meal was made to order, so it came out to our table a good bit later. If I wanted to eat my food hot, I had to start eating right away while my husband sat and waited for his food. Or, I could wait for him and then eat my food cold. I don't understand, their knowing his food would take a bit longer, (and the fact we were together) why they didn't just wait and bring all our food out together when his was ready. Is this a French Cafe thing I just don't about? We would definitely come back for the food and atmosphere. The staff? We would hope to encounter a more friendly, helpful group the next time around...

This food was disgusting ordered a Nutella crepe no Nutella and it was terrible and 13 dollars please never go here

This food is terrible I went here for a Nutella crepe and I got first no Nutella and took a long time and over priced truly terrible

Table crumbs

Let me start with a positIve: this is one of my favorite local breakfast spots; it has a good ambience and great prices (better than most competitors). However, this place is dirty. The tables are not clean and are filled with crumbs, as the windows, too. Also, customer service especially from the gentlemen who's takes the food orders in the morning is terrible; he's unfriendly, hard to understand, and doesn't seem to care to be there. He is off putting. Also, the food and drink/coffee temperature aren't hot. Yes, this place can get busy and have a high volume of people (after 9am), and that might be a reasoning for the accumulated dirt, lukewarm food and testy service, but if the restaurant is serious about improving and holding it to its brand, changes need to be made such as: + Hire more employees so they're not spread too thin + Replace the gentlemen at the front who's taking food orders in the morning with someone who's happy to be there, positive and, inviting. This gentlemen is the first opinion and introduction to the restaurant and his lack of interest, care, and unfriendly attitude spoils the experience of the place from the get go. + Lastly, have a routine and scheduled clean ups. Perhaps with additional (quality) hires these changes can be made, but until then, this place needs work. * Because I care about the uniqueness of La Madeleine I write this 2nd (stronger) review. I've included pictures as examples, too. If changes are made, I'll be happy to remove this review, but until then, this my assessment.

Their cute to-go cups!

Stopped at Makers Union in Reston on a rainy Sunday afternoon after taking our dog to the dog park…read more We sat outside on the patio with Onyx, and our server Kenny was great. When the rain started becoming an issue, he actually moved the umbrellas together to make sure Onyx had a dry spot. Really appreciated that. We started with a Bourbon Club and the Nitro Espresso Martini, then got the buffalo wings and she-crab soup. The wings can be grilled or fried and we went grilled, which was definitely the right call. Good char on them and I'd get them the same way again. The she-crab soup was also really good and perfect for a rainy afternoon. For lunch we had the French dip and the Reuben, and subbed the mac and cheese for one of the sides. Both sandwiches were solid, but the mac and cheese deserves a mention of its own. Definitely worth the substitution. Good food, good drinks, and especially good service from Kenny. Being able to hang out on the patio with our dog without the rain ruining lunch made the whole experience even better.

We had Mackenzie as our server and immediately connected because she's a foodie like me. At her suggestion, I got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich but swapped the grilled chicken for fried. She had me at bacon. I mean, what doesn't go well with bacon? The chicken was crispy without being greasy and all the flavors just worked. My son had the chicken and waffles. Chicken was perfectly crispy, although the batter was a little sweeter than I prefer. I'm more of a Southern, savory fried chicken person. We asked for hot sauce to add to the maple syrup and Mackenzie upped it by bringing us hot honey instead. YES! Makers Union, add that to the menu. Promise you, it'll be a hit. You can thank Mackenzie for that one! Hubby had the fish and chips. His first reaction was, "Is that all?" Turns out, it was more than enough and really flavorful. The food was great, but honestly, Mackenzie made the experience. When your server understands food AND is a great people person, that's a winning combination. Great first visit and we'll definitely be back!

SERVICE: First time we just walk in and they couldn't sit us for about 20min, each time telling to wait and do not leave. What could be easily solved by getting us on wait list with time approximation. Next time we decided to avoid trouble and booked few days in advance, just to realize that reservation actually not getting you a table We came on time and were asked to wait. Fine, no problems. After 30 min standing outside( because people were coming and leaving) we came in and asked about our table, confused hostess was trying to find reservation again, after she completed the task we were asked to wait.... Then they lead us to a table with strangers and only 2 free sits( we were party of 4)To cut the struggle I said that there are few free tables outside and we are fine to stay there, and finely were settled. The waitress brought us menus and we haven't seen her for the next 20 min... FOOD: the choice is not very wide, but there are some interesting options. Had eaten half before I remembered to take a picture. They do have online ordering (which I didn't use today but might speed up the line.) Today, I ordered the Turkey BLAT sandwich for $14, only to find one single slice of turkey on my sandwich. For a sandwich at that price point, this is completely unacceptable. Customers should expect reasonable portions and consistent quality, especially from an establishment like Tatte. It's disappointing because I genuinely used to enjoy visiting this location. Fortunately, I've had much better experiences at the One Loudoun location, which has now become my preferred Tatte. I hope management at the Reston location takes a closer look at food quality, portion sizes, and overall consistency. Tatte Reston has to do better, especially for loyal customers who have supported this location over the years.
