Lipstick marks
Sally K.

The food was ok. Ambiance was ok too until the bus lady started talking nonstop and very loudly to a friend right behind us, for a long time. Then I wanted to take the first sip of my water and I noticed lipstick marks on the edge of my glass..(I wasn't wearing lipstick)! That was gross.

French Dip au Caramelized Onions - just mediocre in flavor

I ordered through Uber Eats and the food was just all right. Nothing great but just all right. The service was a bit slow and it took a while to get to my house because the Uber driver took a while to get to my house and the food was a bit cold so I had to reheat everything. I will not be ordering from here again.

I've been meaning to try La Madeleine since I first discovered it and I just so happened to be in the mood for a coffee and something sweet and remembered that I was close to it so decided to pop in. Definitely a little confusing when you walk in as you're not really sure where to go or where to stand for both dining in and takeout but I promptly figured it out. I ordered a few baked goods to go and a small cold brew and let me tell you that the coffee was DELICIOUS as were both the palmier and the linzer cookie ... literally had to stop myself from eating them all because they were that good! I'll definitely be back to dine in and try lunch.

FOOD We ordered a whole Chicken Parisien sandwich to-go, and it was ready within fifteen minutes. It was delicious-- the chicken, bacon, mayo, and cheddar meshed well wonderfully together with a rich, umami taste. La Madeleine is one of our favorite places to visit for fast casual dining, and it lives up to our expectations every time! (Especially their bakery items that are great for get-togethers or parties) SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly. There are two different counters to order-- one for dining in (left) and one for carry-out (right). AMBIANCE There are a variety of tables available throughout the store for 2s, 4s, and more. The decor is neatly organized and fits the theme. PARKING There is ample parking available in the lot in front of the establishment that is shared with neighboring stores.

Wanted to grab something quick on my work break and liked the menu offerings. I was not disappointed. The restaurant is a cross between a cafeteria style/bakery ordering and a cozy rustic atmosphere, with lots of seating in different rooms that make it feel more private and personal away from other crowds. The employees were super kind and gave me recommendations on dinner choices. I got the croque monsieur and seasonal chicken salad and both were delicious and exactly what I was looking for. The pricing was affordable. And the bakery still had dessert options despite being 1 hour to close. I really liked this place for my first time there, will definitely be back as there were so many options on their menu and bakery that I wanted to try. Definitely recommend.

There is no coffee in this latte for sure

I came here to get a iced latte with almond milk and one pump of sugar-free vanilla and I walked out with us and they insisted that they put coffee in it, but there is no coffee in here overall the vibe was really weird and I would like for the business to correct us because I know sometimes are tough but it's also unacceptable

This food was disgusting ordered a Nutella crepe no Nutella and it was terrible and 13 dollars please never go here

This food is terrible I went here for a Nutella crepe and I got first no Nutella and took a long time and over priced truly terrible

A little unorganized. Staff was not very helpful to us first-timers - even after we said we didn't know how this worked. Maybe we just caught the wrong shift, or they're so used to regulars they don't reach out to ask if help is needed, or they are just tired of their jobs... ‍ That being said, I loved the decor. It felt like a cozy, warm, "underground" cafe with a touch of library/study tones which invited one to sit and linger - alone, maybe to read while eating; or with friends, to chat and visit over comforting food... And we loved the food. The eggs, where applicable, were light and fluffy. The dishes flavourful, and the dish selection was varied. This was also where the not knowing how this place worked kind of bit us. What I ordered was apparently on the "cafeteria line" and therefore was given to me immediately at the cash register after paying. My husband's meal was made to order, so it came out to our table a good bit later. If I wanted to eat my food hot, I had to start eating right away while my husband sat and waited for his food. Or, I could wait for him and then eat my food cold. I don't understand, their knowing his food would take a bit longer, (and the fact we were together) why they didn't just wait and bring all our food out together when his was ready. Is this a French Cafe thing I just don't about? We would definitely come back for the food and atmosphere. The staff? We would hope to encounter a more friendly, helpful group the next time around...

Table crumbs

Let me start with a positIve: this is one of my favorite local breakfast spots; it has a good ambience and great prices (better than most competitors). However, this place is dirty. The tables are not clean and are filled with crumbs, as the windows, too. Also, customer service especially from the gentlemen who's takes the food orders in the morning is terrible; he's unfriendly, hard to understand, and doesn't seem to care to be there. He is off putting. Also, the food and drink/coffee temperature aren't hot. Yes, this place can get busy and have a high volume of people (after 9am), and that might be a reasoning for the accumulated dirt, lukewarm food and testy service, but if the restaurant is serious about improving and holding it to its brand, changes need to be made such as: + Hire more employees so they're not spread too thin + Replace the gentlemen at the front who's taking food orders in the morning with someone who's happy to be there, positive and, inviting. This gentlemen is the first opinion and introduction to the restaurant and his lack of interest, care, and unfriendly attitude spoils the experience of the place from the get go. + Lastly, have a routine and scheduled clean ups. Perhaps with additional (quality) hires these changes can be made, but until then, this place needs work. * Because I care about the uniqueness of La Madeleine I write this 2nd (stronger) review. I've included pictures as examples, too. If changes are made, I'll be happy to remove this review, but until then, this my assessment.

Sooo good. I love to have breakfast and croissants here, service is nice. The atmosphere is very good. It gives a feeling like being in France.

Their cute to-go cups!

This was my second visit to this location…read more As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by staff members. They let me check out the place before being seated. The bar area is self-seating.I chose to sit in the bar area...the only remaining big table with high chairs/table...it was packed! The happy hour is pretty awesome here. They have daily happy hour from 4-6 pm, which is pretty awesome, starting early and ending late. There is also a power hour from 3-6, where everything on the happy hour menu is $5, which is a little early!! The menu includes regular bar food and a variety of drinks (as shown in the picture). We ordered the following: -Let that "man"go - in general it's an iced drink, so I'd avoid. -Spicy pina marg - another iced drink. It was ok. -I'm Ron Burgundy (2x)- this had a nice strong coffee flavor, doesn't come with ice; I would highly recommend it...they made it so good!!! -Maker's mini nachos - There proportion of chips to toppings was off there wasn't enough toppings and too many chips, but there was a lot of cheese. -Calamari was a good portion, and tasty -Chicken tenders - they were delicious and moist There are so many items to choose from on the power hour/happy hour menu. I would definitely recommend lil B and the wings. There was live music, which was just way too loud for such a small space. We would have been okay with all the music. There is plenty of parking available in nearby garages, I believe free after 5pm. There is also timed/paid parallel parking. Would I return? definitely!

Server Kelly M. took our order for a Caesar Salad, Margarita Pizza and a glass of red wine (light meal). A different person delivered the salad and pizza to us, and the food was good. However, we never saw Kelly from the time she took our order until we finished eating. She then showed up with an empty wine glass, said the wine order did not get put in, and asked if I still wanted it. I said "no" since we were done with our meal. At that time, I requested the Cheesecake w/cherries for my complimentary dessert, a small box for pizza, and the check. More than 20 minutes later, Kelly brought a box and the check, but no dessert. She then asked if I "had decided" on a dessert. I repeated that I would like Cheesecake with cherries. After nearly 30 minutes there was no sign of our waitress and no dessert. We were not happy at this point, left cash payment on the table, and walked out. We have eaten at Reston 60 Vines multiple times. No complaints about previous visits; food and service were very good. However, due to the long waits, inattention, and mistakes by our server on this visit, we were very disappointed. We felt management should be aware of this so they can correct the problem. I'm sure you expect better from your employees. We will have to think twice about dining on your patio this summer. Linda

In comparison to our most frequented Ashburn outpost, the interior here feels more cozy and old school rather than bright and modern. Despite a very busy dining and waiting room, the host sat us almost immediately during peak hours at a generously sized booth, a nice touch given we had our infant son in tow. The food here tasted consistent with what we have had at other locations of Ted's. While the food here does not necessarily amaze the palate, it is executed competently and the large menu caters to a variety of tastes with some creative, global touches. My wife always selects the Turkish eggs, which comprise a trio of poached eggs swimming in a garlicky yogurt and topped with piquant chili oil. The dish makes for a light, fresh breakfast with plenty of flavor. I opted for a Sichuan hot chicken sandwich. The cripsy, juicy chicken breast coated in a heavily seasoned chili dunk yielded a surprisingly flavorful bite. Despite the chicken quality, I did not love the sweet American style coleslaw that topped the sandwich nor the limp fries that arrived alongside. Service ran smoothly, as our waitress promptly took our orders, remained available throughout service, and even subbed out my wife's latte for no charge when she found the taste too sweet. Prices here are about $15-20 per entree which is standard for the Town Center and reasonable given portion sizes. Overall, Ted's remains a reliable option for a satisfying and consistent lunch or brunch, and we are glad to have a location so nearby.

The one blip was when we first entered, the young-ish man at the host desk looked at us with a "What are you doing here?" grimace. I was stunned since the hosts are usually very happy to see patrons come in. Beyond that, though, we had a lovely time. Our server was quite friendly and got hubs customized Cuban order just right. I've had the chicken parm, the Cuban sandwich, burgers, and salads and everything had been tasty and freshly prepared. I love a good Cuban sandwich and NYAJ's is a good one, and they are one of the few restaurants with a Waldorf salad on the menu, so I have ordered that several times. My only critique of that would be, I wish it had the candied pecans that are listed as an ingredient on the menu, but the last 3 times I have had that salad, they have been missing. I also love the French onion soup there, as well as many of the appetizers. You really do not have to worry about getting a bad meal at Not Your Average Joe's, it's very reliable.

Figured I'd stop in for a bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich and an OJ for a hearty breakfast hankerin'. The place had been renovated since my last pre-covid visit - much needed - and was nicely done up, clean and neat with plenty of table seating and a nice ambiance. I was grabbing to go - order taker was friendly and pleasant and my sandwich was made quickly. The rub for me though was how skimpy and anemic the bfast sandwich was! I took a pic of my sandwich and I'm sorry I didn't take the picture with something to show scale. First and foremost - Einstein bagels have gotten significantly smaller in all around size. What the HELL happened?? Dudes - you aren't fooling anyone with your version of shrinkflation! Laughable, the size of their bagels! Second - to add insult to injury - the bacon, egg and cheese portions in the bagel sando were skimpy as all get out! THIN SLIVERS OF EACH. Check out my photo. I will say that they do ask you if you want 1 or 2 eggs in your BEC sandwich - yesssss I chose 1 egg but ASSumed that 1 egg would be plenty enough. I mean "1 egg" is never really 1 egg, right?!!! WRONGGGGGGG. My reaction to that silly "1 or 2 eggs?" question is - c'mon Einstein - don't ask - just put a decent portion of eggs in the sandwich - it all comes out in the wash and you make your profit whether it's 1 or 2 eggs if you do it right and train your workers. (Anyway, with your shrinkflation-ed bagels, you should be able to afford to put more BEC in the sandwich and still maintain the illusion that the sando is stuffed to the gills. lol.) #eyeroll My goodness - dare I say - McDonald's makes a better and heartier bfast sando (for better value) than this place. First time back since pre-covid and sadly my last. With even fast casual joints fighting for every dollar in consumers' pockets, Einstein you need to show us decent value for our money - this ain't it. BIG RIP OFF AND NOT WORTH THE PRICE THEY CHARGE.
