I really enjoyed the food we opted into doing the hot pot and barbecue for the both of us. The inside layout is really nice and big. It's an old village Inn converted into a hot pot and barbecue spot. Some of their rice and french fries and sesame balls were hard and cold. Also, there was only one bottle of Sriracha and there was a few parties there so I kind of felt like I was racing to get the Sriracha but overall I really enjoyed my experience here. So for both of us 2 to have hot pot and barbecue and two drinks that ended up costing us about $100 including tip. The service was excellent. It's great to see a high quality hot pot and kbbq spot in the Arvada area. We had the AYCE hot pot + kbbq combo and it was $36 (per tax/tip) which is a great deal for what we got. Hot pot + sauces The hot pot broth options are all delicious. If you like szechuan spicy, the spicy broth is great - there's just a bit of a learning curve of how to eat around the dried peppers and szechuan peppercorns, but you'll get it. The menu of different meats, seafood, veggies, noodles, and tofu is extensive and fresh. There's something for everyone: the meats and veggies you'll come across at an American market, as well as traditional Chinese meats and veggies that are oh so delicious in a hot pot. I'm always so happy when I see things like lotus root, tripe, and tong hua. They have a very extensive sauce section. Awesome to make your own sauces, but intimidating for people who are new. A possible suggestion to the restaurant would be putting up suggested sauce combinations. Korean BBQ The kbbq was fine, they put a paper down between the meat and the grill so you don't get that nice grill crust. I get that it makes cleanup easier, but took away from the flavor and overall experience. My son has been wanting us to try Hot Pot for a while now, so we got together for his birthday to celebrate at La Hotpot because of it's reviews, choices, and pricing. Pros We were able to get a reservation for our big group of 13 and the service was fast and friendly. Enjoyed the option of having Korean BBQ add-on! Workers were nice enough to offer take photos of our large group. So-so It was the first time for ten of us and a bit more direction would have been helpful (although we know a group like ours can be a lot). Luckily my son was excited to teach us and fill in the gaps. When I checked our bill, I found we were charged for an extra meal. I'm sure and easy error to make, but glad I caught it as we didnt split the check and I was paying for all. Cons The pricing on the website DID NOT match what we were billed, although though the website had a note that it was updated as of 2025. I've been waiting for a good hot pot place to open nearby for YEARS now and was extremely excited to visit this place. I was not disappointed! I've been twice- once a few weeks after they opened and then about a month after that. I'm happy to say, they ironed out a lot of the service issues I encountered the first time. Food was brought promptly and service was great on my second visit! The selections of meats and veggies is great. I wish there were more seafood options and hope to see more added in the future. My only minor complaint is the menu- it's hard to mark your options and there's not obvious way to mark more than one serving of a specific item. I really wanted to love this place, but I really didn't. All the marinated meats except for the their Chicken Crispy Bones (which is basically just the joints/the bone ends of chicken bones) were very bland. It might just be a simple fix like marinating it a little longer but I am not sure. Hot pot broths are okay to start with but you definitely need a trip to the sauce bar to make it to your liking. Drinks were the best thing I had here, so big highlight there! Service can be forgivable as they have recently open but I do expect it to be better as time goes on. One of the biggest problems I had was that they didn't clear the table, not even once while we were there. There was no place to even put new orders as we keep stacking the plates. We barely did 3 rounds lol. Our 3rd round ended up being super small because of the lack of table space. It was clear that they are still training people and I am okay with that and very open to it but it felt that we were in a fishbowl with the comments that were being made "away" from our tables. (Not really away, we heard everything.) It is very clear to me that the staff needs more training and have better introduction to the process of things to customers. The manager looked frantic, and there was a crowd of people in the front. We state that we are a party of 2, and the manager frantically said 30-45 minutes -even thought the tables were half empty. We sit down at the bar and decide to get a drink while we wait. Not an option either - the bar is dirty , hasn't been wiped off and no one is there to serve drinks. 5 minutes later the same frantic manager comes to seat us at a table in the corner. I guess the wait wasn't 30/45 minutes after all. Nice surprise I guess. We get seated at a table and are pretty much ignored the entire time- a hostess comes by to explain the menu and never brings us our server. There was no service, no water, or really anything in the first 25 minutes we sat down. We then proceeded to leave - as it was pretty obvious we were not gonna eat anytime soon. I would definitely not come back! The service was horrible - I can't imagine how poor the food quality could be. read more

If you must dine here, get the chicken fish maw soup - it's REALLY GOOD. I don't usually leave 1 star reviews but this place has really disappointed me. The food in general was not great. The variety is more limited than other spots and some dinner specials were unavailable and our server did not even tell us. - I ordered the blue crab thrice and it never came so I asked her upon ordering it for the 4th time and that was when she decided to tell me it's out of stock - We ordered 2 "marinated satay squid rings" for BBQ and the first portion that came was unmarinated so we gave her the benefit of doubt and just reordered. But! The second time it came, it was the same squid rings with no marinate. So I clarified with her that we wanted the marinated one and that was when she told us "oh it's sold out so I gave you the plain ones" - shouldn't you tell us instead of giving us something we did not order? - As seen in the photo, there are two different types of pork belly, one for hot pot and one for BBQ - we ordered the BBQ pork belly and she gave us the hot pot pork belly. When we clarified, she claimed it's the same. But we knew for a fact it isn't the same because other tables had the right bbq pork belly, so we pointed that out to her and she said sorry she was confused. Overall, a super chaotic experience. Food came out so slowly our party of 5 ended up leaving feeling unsatisfied and still hungry - this has never happened at an AYCE for us. Advice for the restaurant: it will be a lot easier and more efficient if you provided an ordering iPad for each table. Otherwise, print papers for order instead of getting us to write with a marker on the menu - we ended up getting things we did not order because the menu wasn't cleaned properly. So much confusion between the waiter and us. And mind you, we were able to communicate perfectly with her in mandarin but everything ended up wrong as well. This little hidden gem has everything I could ever want in hotpot. They also have everything I could want in Korean bbq. Together! The food is extremely fresh and high quality. The atmosphere is cozy but spacious. This is a great place to bring guests. The service was exceptional, the owner even came by offering some good options to add to the meal. We went for dinner on a Friday night, there was no wait and we did the hot pot and barbecue combo for $35 a person. One thing to be aware of is that everyone at your table has to do the same choice (ie hot pot only, barbecue only, or both). There are a wide variety of options including broths, meat, seafood, noodles, vegetables and a make your own sauce station. The selected portion sizes are very small so don't be afraid to select multiple options on your first round. The favorites at our table were the marinated pork belly and short ribs, the pickled daikon (radishes) from the sauce station, and the cream puffs. The staff was courteous and kind. One odd thing is that they don't seem to have beverages other than water. There is a bar with alcohol but we weren't offered anything other than water and there were no drinks listed on the menu (at least the menu we got). Wheelchair accessibility: in general you can tell that this restaurant has thought about wheelchair accessibility. There are a couple of accessible parking spots with wide access lanes. There are a set of double doors to get in without an automatic opener, they weren't very heavy and plenty of maneuvering room in between the sets. The layout is spacious and staff were very thoughtful about making sure we had a table that would work best for us. Unfortunately the way the hot pot table is set up, it is so low that I couldn't wheel my legs under it/get all the way up to the table which made it challenging and uncomfortable (and I am short statured so my legs are lower to the ground than most wheelchair users). This is different than other hot pot restaurants where I have been able to comfortably sit at the table. The women's bathroom had a fairly light door; the accessible stall was pretty tight with not much turning radius, and the bathroom was a bit grungy. read more

Probably some of the best hot pot that I've had in Colorado! The meat seemed to be way more fresh than other places. All of the ingredients seemed to be in good shape. I appreciate the sauce bar, especially with how the soy sauce and sesame oil is set up. This place used to be something else, but I think some things could be fixed. The ambiance was fine, nothing special about it. I think the decor is left over from the previous business and isn't the cutest. But aesthetic doesn't matter when the food is good. La Hotpot will never be a disappointing meal. Been here 4 times already and every time Ieft happy and full. Located in Wheatridge, you don't have much if any, options for hotpot. But if this is drive for you to get here, I promise you it is worth the drive. The cost of the AYCE Hotpot is $30, and you can add the bbq for $5 more. A lot of people still have the idea in their head the AYCE places have cheap ingredients, that they're not fresh, etc.. I will gladly say that La Hotpot is not that. I have had nothing but top quality ingredients! Especially the blue crab. You can taste the quality. And these crabs are always filled with roe! The other hotpot proteins are always good quality ingredients. You won't see any weird discoloration or see anything that will make you second guess what you're eating. Sure you will second guess gluttonous ways, but that's a different issue to discuss with your therapist... Or doctor. My favorite broth is the pork broth. I feel that has the best flavor and you can add chile oil to add spice. The sauce bar is also a must. They have that what you want to build the perfect sauce. I love that they keep the sauce bar clean and well stocked. This is also where you get your utensils. The Korean BBQ portion of this restaurant is also really good. One thing that they do here that other places don't is they put down parchment paper on the grill. This allows for a cleaner grill. Your proteins don't burn as easily. They don't have a large selection of proteins for the bbq but they have enough to keep you satisfied and full. You can also put the hotpot proteins on the grill to make your own special concoctions. I did try to pig's brains and it was too rich. I think grilling it on the grill but not in the bowl would have made it taste much better. I think what sets La Hotpot from the many Hotpot options in the Denver metro area are the workers here and the cleanliness of the restaurant. My opinion might be biased in this because I had the opportunity in meeting the owner. You can tell he was very passionate in delivering the best experience for his customers. Sure I can state the price, quality of ingredients, and good customer service. But anyone can say that for a lot of the other restaurants. I think what sets them apart is the consistency of quality in their service. Probably one of the more disappointing hot pot/ Korean bbq I've ever had. We have been to a half dozen spots around Denver and LA. And this ranks very low quality and taste wise. The meat lacked flavor and tasted like freezer burn. I couldn't eat the short rib or any of the fatty beef. The sauce selection and sides just miss completely. The broth options are odd. I'm so happy to have a hot pot place in this area, and I really like this place. I admit that they seem to be chronically understaffed, so be prepared to wait, even if it's not busy. I hope this changes as they get more established. The butter broth is my favorite. It's medium spicy, but has a lot of Sichuan pepper, which I LOVE. The Tom yum broth is my other favorite, it's very chicken-y with a good amount of spice. Mmmmm. And make sure you try the blue crab. It's great. I really enjoy the sauce bar, too. She smiles and laughs with all of the other tables around us, but when she waits on us, she won't smile, and talks so quiet I have to ask her to repeat what she says.
