The service during the lunch rush is awful, it's crowded and the employees are overwhelmed. The system to order and deliver the food is also poorly designed, you basically have to cut through the line of people ordering in order to reach your food, I do give them props for using a pager system though and the guy cleaning the tables is amazing, he's fast and does a great job considering the place is insanely busy. Having said all that, the food is freaking amazing, the portions are absurdly large and each bite is full of flavor, the food is worth putting up with all the other BS in this place, honestly, they could punch me in the face and call me a **** when I walk in the door and I would still keep going here because the food is that freaking good. Another thing I liked was that they have a water station so you don't have to buy bottled water and you also don't have to drink tap water, some dumb-dumb put her tray right under the tap of the water station while she was getting sauces so when people filled up their cups they got water all over her food, I hope she enjoyed her soggy lunch. Also, word of warning with those who can't stand the taste of cilantro (There are dozens of us! Dozens!), I don't know how good they are about listening to you since the service is so crappy at lunch time, but make sure you tell them to not put any cilantro in your food because this is a Peruvian restaurant and they put cilantro on everything! read more

Small location located next to a gas station, once inside it's actually more appealing that you might think. We ordered the chicken with rice and the seafood with rice. Both very well seasoned and large portions. There are not a lot of parking spaces available but it never looked crowded. I previously rated this location 5 stars but after my visit yesterday I've had to lower them to 2. I ordered the #3 special that includes 1/2 chicken, rice, beans, plantains and a soda. Although the chicken was tasty, I was a bit dismayed when I sat down and looked at my bill only to discover that I had been charged extra for the soda that was supposed to be included in the price. I was further disappointed in looking at the bill and seeing that this restaurant is charging customers 8% Sales Tax. As far as I know, the State Sales Tax rate in Miami-Dade County is still 7%. Perhaps this is some sort of tourist tax that I'm not aware of like they have on Miami Beach Lastly, while eating my meal I observed a woman ordering food and under her arm she had what appeared to be a small Yorkshire Terrier dog. Maybe it was a service animal, maybe not...no employee bothered to ask. The woman then went over to the condiment counter while petting the dog. It's summertime and dogs shed. She had dog hair all over her blouse and now she was holding the dog over the condiments while filling containers. A few other customers saw this and one in particular had an incredulous look on her face while just shaking her head in disbelief. With the exception of service animals, there are good health related reasons why the law doesn't allow pets in restaurants. This woman should be ashamed of herself, as should the employees who said nothing and allowed the dog hair to contaminate the food customers were eating. This was one of my favorite go to spots, but this visit left me feeling very disappointed. As if being overcharged in not one but two ways wasn't enough, the lack of sanitary practices at this location are unforgivable. In light of all of the above, I feel that I am being very generous in lowering the score from 5 stars to 2. I will be looking for a different La Granja location in which to satisfy my appetite for good Latin cuisine. read more

Recommended by my Belgian friend, Elfi, we went over and had dinner on an early Saturday night. It was delightful. Usually I'm apprehensive of trying seafood the first time but tried the Peruvian ceviche and it was very fresh and delicious with hominy and toasted corn kernels on the side. So happy I tried La Granja. I ordered the Macho Fish. The fish was tender and tasted very fresh. Squid, octopus, shrimp, mussels, and a fried filet which was absolutely delicious! We ordered for delivery for a group of people in a corporate business location and we didn't hear back from the restaurant after placing our order for AN HOUR. We called for an update on the order and they said it was still not out for delivery because of an issue with their truck. I completely understand that cars can malfunction but they should've called us that it would take longer (twice as long) than we thought. We called once again and they were getting UPSET WITH US like Im sorry, but we're just checking in on food.......We finally received our food after almost 2 hours. When I received my food, there was a puddle of sauces/juices in a bag. I'm so upset and dissatisfied with the service. If they only called and has some customer service.
