They've expanded over the years to keep up with the crowds, and the fresh seafood display by the door lets you know exactly what they're so special for. Let's start with the fish croquetas because they're in a league of their own. Hands down the best in Miami. We also ordered cod fritters, and every bite tasted incredibly fresh. Before the entree, they bring out a small cup of soup, either fish or lobster bisque, just enough to warm you up before the main event. I went with Creole shrimp, and opted for salad and fried sweet plantains, while hubby ordered fried fish chunks with white rice and black beans. And let's be clear... you can't leave a Cuban restaurant without ordering black beans. There's something about theirs that tastes like they've been simmering in someone's vieja (that's grandmother) kitchen all day. Pure comfort feels. One thing I really appreciate is the portion sizes. They're generous without being over the top, so you leave satisfied instead of needing a nap in the parking lot.
