What a find! We were in the area and wanted to have fish for lunch and we found EL PESCAITO! This cozy place is a perfect combination of fresh food, excellent service and casual ambience.... Exactly what we were looking for our family lunch on a Saturday. The menu has so many options to choose for the fish, the type you select and then cooked the way you want too, we had the Fried Cherna, grilled Corvina with Lemon sauce & fried fish bites! The seafood was amazing too and even the sides were outstanding (loved the fried yuca)! And to finish a perfect cortadito! Their prices are good and their portions are big! Saw an advertisement online about this restaurant, so I decided to give it a try. Getting there is quite simple. The location is just passed the Burger King, however, you must immediately make a right as soon as the building ends. Parking is behind the establishment. The inside is nice and comfortable. Service is quick and to the point. Menu is ok with prices. I highly recommend the fish bites and the pan con minuta sandwich. The fish soup was not up to par with taste as it lacked the sense of a fish stock. Other people that were there ordered fry fish which looked very well. El Pescaito, formerly known as Medley Restaurant is a hole in the wall seafood spot in Medley that has been there for years. I'm not sure if they're under new management or why they changed the name but it's been a while since I'd been here for lunch. We stopped in today for an early lunch and had out pick of tables. This no-frills restaurant does give you a free bite before ordering. It was fried fish but I wasn't feeling the texture - too rubbery. We ordered the camarones enchilados and the camarones al ajillo. Both were very good although I felt like the shrimp were smaller than I remembered them being. The portions were still nice and our server said she'd be happy to refill our rice if we wanted more. A good spot if you aren't super finicky with your food and the ambiance of the place. Our server was nice but she didn't give us a menu and was taking phone orders while attending to us which made for a longer lunch than we hoped. Because of the rubbery fish we tried in the beginning, I'd suggest only sticking to their fresh catch of the day which they have posted on the door in the back entrance. read more

I've been here before but this was sold and there is new management. Having said that I ordered the fish soup medium size....its basically a fish broth, although tasty, had almost nothing in it. Being a chef myself, fish soup should have small pieces of fish and rice and maybe carrots and some tarot root. It had almost nothing. I asked for soda crackers and they had none!!!! Hello!!!! What fish house has no soda crackers? Instead they brought me some cold bread. Asked for snapper filet, they had none, even though it's on the menu , instead was offered mahi or salmon. So I asked for fried Swai. My husband asked for Swai fingers and they where overcooked and rubbery. My Swai was perfectly cooked but my French fries where cold. The manager or owner came to our table and told us to add some oil (which I assumed was olive oil) to our bread and instead I discovered that it was just plain either canola or corn oil tasteless! The waitress was very friendly and have no complaints about the service. But the food was not memorable and we won't be going back. The 1 star is for the friendly service. That's all. read more

This is my first at this restaurant. I was referred by a friend. However, the restaurant is an industrial area, the building appears to be rundown. The inside of the restaurant looks somewhat clean. I ordered garlic shrimp "al ajillo" with one side (8 shrimps and Moro's), no other extras unless you want to pay an average of $3 dollars more per side. In Brazil we have a saying "eles mandam super bem," which means they always get it all right. And that was what we always say through the whole experience every time. The fish is super fresh and the service is on point. We usually have the same server help us. I just love her explaining the dishes in Spanish. I don't understand a word, but hers are hypnotic and you want to eat anything she says. Also, for a fish place, their pork was pretty phenomenal.
