Crawfish (2 lb) The Awesome Garlic Noodles
    Nini M.

Door dashed this place and it was disappointing. The garlic noodles was made with pho noodles which is not a good combo. Crawfish lacked flavor but was fresh which was a plus.

The food here is always delicious, I came here just when crawfish season started and it did not disappoint, it's very savory and the Cajun flavor is my favorite. The service is ok, friendly staff and clean facilities however: I always have an issue paying with Amex and they haven't fixed it since 2020. Also I accumulate points through their app, but when you go in person they can't apply the points to your account...disappointing. The app and the service staff don't always communicate well as I've had my order missing staff regularly, so I had to always double check when I pick up my order. This is a corporate call out because it's not the staff's fault. I'll still come back and hoping that they can fix these issues soon!

The food was amazing. I took my mom there and we got some crawfish and I got the spicy garlic noodles. The service was great. and I'm glad the staff helped us to decide the flavors. The ambiance was good and the location was perfect for us as well.

I was excited because the one in Houston is amazing (all Houston locations) I've given them several chances and they just keep disappointing me. Giving ppl frozen crawfish during crawfish season is diabolical over $16 a pound for that frost bitten bullshit pissed me off, I will never go back.

Mango margaritas and seafood egg rolls and crawfish empanadas
    Paul J.

Stopped in to try their Mango margaritas because my niece said they were as good as the Purple margaritas I normally get at another restaurant. I have to admit they hit hard. We opted for a few of the appetizers the seafood egg rolls and the crawfish empanadas. The egg rolls were crispy hot and filled with a cream cheese seafood mixture that was not too overpowering but the crawfish empanadas were too crawfish flavored if that make since. All and all the margaritas were my favorite.

I found an unidentified bug in my crawfish while I was eating I'm sure this happens sometimes but I've had a lot of crawfish and this has never happened to me before

Crawfish and snow crab boil with shrimp fried rice.
    Chanel B.

It was my first time trying it out and I thought the boils would come ready made with corn, potatoes, sausage like usual but the menu doesn't state it's not included. It's an upcharge to add it separately. I was a bit thrown off by that and didn't quite know what to order. The lady who was taking my order was frustrated and offered me no suggestions or help at all. I felt uncomfortable and just randomly ordered some fried rice I saw and got shrimp added. The shrimp was overcooked however but, the fried rice had a good flavor with chopped white and green onions which added some nice crunch to the dish. It's a casual spot to grab some seafood. I tasted some of the crawfish and crab and it was cooked well but could've used a more fragrant flavoring of garlic and spices.

    Crawfish Crawfish Cajun Pho

I got the Crawfish Cajun Pho and it was actually pretty good. The broth was flavorful, to-go packaging was well sealed, and the staff was very nice. I'd prefer it to be a little spicier, but that's all preference. I don't think I would get it again, but it was interesting to try out!

Service was fast and friendly but the food was unacceptable!!!!! Run run run , i sit at the bar and u could see part of the kitchen and it look like people jus playing around! , i order 4 iteams each one was NOTcook properly the lobster was mushy uncook/ raw i had to send it back .. the pho was super oily with uncook shrimp and crawfish inside of it , clams was superr hard and burnt i felt something wasnt going to be right, the next morning i woke up sick went to the hospital and found out i had shellfish poisoning.. i hope the owner takes more time looking over the kitchen staff its a big hazard in the kitchen i was in the hospital for two weeks!!! I willl never eat here again or recommend anyone to come here.

The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.

But it also has egg and scallions and pate; overall the combo is satisfying. Separate from takeout, we decided to go for an early dinner. Their Crab Vermicelli Stir Fry is surprisingly sweet, with sweetness as a prominent flavor. It features plenty of crab bits. I also grabbed a Skillet Combo. It came with two runny side up eggs, pate, two types of cured pork, beef gravy, and a handful of cilantro. The baguette came on the side, as did the mixed salad of lettuce and tomato. The salad had some dried shrimp, fish sauce, and a slightly sweet dressing. The restaurant itself is located in the Chinatown Center on N Lamar. It's a small corner shop. Lots of mirrors and glass. The staff are friendly enough. Unfortunately, they've closed, and it looks like another restaurant will be opening up in its place. You place your order at the front before being seated, which was an easy process. The staff was friendly, and the food came out quickly. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, and my husband ordered the Sip Pho. Both broths were rich and flavorful. The portions were generous, and they definitely did not skimp on the meat. My Bun Bo Hue came with a beef rib that was tender and delicious. One unique thing was the noodles in the Sip pho bowl--they were slightly thicker than vermicelli, which was different but not a big deal. For drinks, I ordered the Matcha Green Thai Tea. It had an interesting flavor combination, but the matcha taste was a bit overpowered by the green Thai tea. It was still enjoyable, though slightly too floral and sweet for my personal preference. The prices were very reasonable, and they offered a great variety of pho, vermicelli bowls, rice dishes, and appetizers. Next time I visit, I'd love to try the egg rolls since I noticed many people ordering them. The only downside was parking. There are about six spots in front of the restaurant, with additional parking in the back. It was a little difficult to find a spot, likely because we visited on a weekend. Sip Pho was good but nothing special in my opinion. I'd probably skip this spot next time I'm in Austin.

And honestly it's better than any fancy restaurant out there. I love the amount of plants in the space and the TV plays cooking videos and it's so nice to watch while waiting for your food! Speaking of waiting for your food, the food comes out super quick! Within 1 minute of ordering my drink, it came out! And a couple minutes after follows the food. The service is amazing as well, the servers are super sweet and are very quick to serve you and get what you need. The menu offers a bunch of things, appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and the drinks! I love how the desserts and drinks are also Vietnamese (most of the time I notice restaurants tend to have the basic selection of fountain drinks and desserts, but this restaurant has a wide variety of drinks and desserts so you can try something new every time you come here!) Most of all, there's a bunch of vegan dishes which I absolutely love. The food is always delicious I've been trying the vegan dishes recently and I love them a lot (as someone who doesn't like vegan dishes normally)! The chicken pho is also so delicious it tastes better than I make it at home! So much flavor. The drinks are so good as well. They also give you a big portion and I normally have leftovers, but the portion size is amazing for the price that you pay. It's definitely more affordable and such a bang for your buck.
