Crawfish (2 lb) The Awesome Garlic Noodles
    Nini M.

Door dashed this place and it was disappointing. The garlic noodles was made with pho noodles which is not a good combo. Crawfish lacked flavor but was fresh which was a plus.

The food was amazing. I took my mom there and we got some crawfish and I got the spicy garlic noodles. The service was great. and I'm glad the staff helped us to decide the flavors. The ambiance was good and the location was perfect for us as well.

I was excited because the one in Houston is amazing (all Houston locations) I've given them several chances and they just keep disappointing me. Giving ppl frozen crawfish during crawfish season is diabolical over $16 a pound for that frost bitten bullshit pissed me off, I will never go back.

Mango margaritas and seafood egg rolls and crawfish empanadas
    Paul J.

Stopped in to try their Mango margaritas because my niece said they were as good as the Purple margaritas I normally get at another restaurant. I have to admit they hit hard. We opted for a few of the appetizers the seafood egg rolls and the crawfish empanadas. The egg rolls were crispy hot and filled with a cream cheese seafood mixture that was not too overpowering but the crawfish empanadas were too crawfish flavored if that make since. All and all the margaritas were my favorite.

I found an unidentified bug in my crawfish while I was eating I'm sure this happens sometimes but I've had a lot of crawfish and this has never happened to me before

    Crawfish Crawfish Cajun Pho

I got the Crawfish Cajun Pho and it was actually pretty good. The broth was flavorful, to-go packaging was well sealed, and the staff was very nice. I'd prefer it to be a little spicier, but that's all preference. I don't think I would get it again, but it was interesting to try out!

Crawfish and snow crab boil with shrimp fried rice.
    Chanel B.

It was my first time trying it out and I thought the boils would come ready made with corn, potatoes, sausage like usual but the menu doesn't state it's not included. It's an upcharge to add it separately. I was a bit thrown off by that and didn't quite know what to order. The lady who was taking my order was frustrated and offered me no suggestions or help at all. I felt uncomfortable and just randomly ordered some fried rice I saw and got shrimp added. The shrimp was overcooked however but, the fried rice had a good flavor with chopped white and green onions which added some nice crunch to the dish. It's a casual spot to grab some seafood. I tasted some of the crawfish and crab and it was cooked well but could've used a more fragrant flavoring of garlic and spices.

Service was fast and friendly but the food was unacceptable!!!!! Run run run , i sit at the bar and u could see part of the kitchen and it look like people jus playing around! , i order 4 iteams each one was NOTcook properly the lobster was mushy uncook/ raw i had to send it back .. the pho was super oily with uncook shrimp and crawfish inside of it , clams was superr hard and burnt i felt something wasnt going to be right, the next morning i woke up sick went to the hospital and found out i had shellfish poisoning.. i hope the owner takes more time looking over the kitchen staff its a big hazard in the kitchen i was in the hospital for two weeks!!! I willl never eat here again or recommend anyone to come here.

I had never been, but it was really close to where I was at, so I gave it a try. First things first, this a beautiful location with lots of seating at the bar and throughout the restaurant. The service is A1, I sat at the bar and was very impressed with the team's chemistry back there (especially while training someone new, they were spot on). The drinks were wonderful as well, very refreshing and lots of flavor. I enjoyed a yuzu & lavender sour & a grapefruit margarita and was impressed with how flavor forward the drinks were while still having a great boozy after effect. Also, I know traditionally oysters aren't usually a thing that you enjoy during the months that don't have an R in them, but I have to say salt traders definitely defied that "rule". Hands down some of my favorite oysters I have EVER had; I enjoyed the Va Va Vooms from Maryland and the Demariscotta Oysters from Maine and still haven't been able to stop thinking about them (it's been about a week or so now & I'm already planning to go back)! I also enjoyed the torched scallop nigiri, the daily crudo, and the salmon plate (that Dijon bbq sauce was craaaazy good, I'll have to order an extra serving of the sauce on the side next time I enjoyed it so much). Lastly, this place has an amazing happy hour, which I noticed fills up fast. Highly recommend going to Salt Trader's if you haven't yet. Great spot for solo dining, with your partner in crime, or bringing a group!

The other tacos were good but a little dry. The fish and avocado tacos are the same except for the protein inside. The duck tostada was good, not great. I did love the hot sauce that came with it and was putting it on my tacos. For dessert we got the tres leches and it was delicious! During the holidays, it is especially appealing with all the Christmas decorations and lights. From the parking garage, you meander through the hotel to the casual restaurant make a left turn, which takes you through a restaurant food court that leads you to Garrison. It is almost like a treasure hunt. We ordered 7oz Texas Wagyu Petite Tender and Seremoni Black Cod*cod for dinner with the associated vegetables. While the food is very good, the portion size is small. So do not come ravenous or you will end up spending quite a lot of money. A few extremely convincing photos of truffle tater tots. That alone was enough to lock us in for life. Over the years, we've celebrated milestones here and watched the restaurant evolve. Chef Jakub took a short sabbatical at one point, and while the food was still good, it just wasn't Garrison. Now that he's back, it honestly feels like he returned with even more passion than before. The kitchen is firing on all cylinders again. We recently came in for the Valentine's Day prix fixe, kids in tow, and somehow it worked beautifully. The kids loved every moment, and so did we. Favorites this time around were split between the truffle pasta (dangerously good) and the perfectly cooked rib eye, which was executed flawlessly. And then there's David, somehow always our server, and somehow always amazing. He has an incredible instinct for recommending the perfect balance of drinks, reads the table effortlessly, and isn't shy about making things right if something feels even slightly off. That kind of service is rare and makes the entire experience feel relaxed and confident. Side note: whoever the pastry chef is... you are an absolute menace (said with love). The chocolate cake, paired with ice cream and just the right crunch, has been living rent-free in my head ever since. I'm still thinking about it. Possibly dreaming about it.

Updating my review after giving Aba a second chance about nine months later…read more I'm honestly really glad I came back. This time we went in knowing exactly what we liked from our first visit and focused on sharing appetizers, which ended up being the move. We ordered several dishes for the table and left completely full and happy. The whipped feta is still a must-order and every bit as good as I remembered. The Greek village salad was fresh and delicious, and the hummus was also great. The biggest surprise for me was the falafel. As an Arab, I'm usually pretty skeptical when restaurants outside of Middle Eastern spots serve falafel because it rarely lives up to expectations. Aba absolutely nailed it. It was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. We sat outside this time, which made for a really nice atmosphere. The service was also a huge improvement from my first experience. Even though the restaurant was busy, our waitress was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. I'm happy to say my opinion has completely changed since my first visit. Giving Aba another chance was definitely worth it, and it has officially earned a spot on my Austin rotation whenever I'm in town.

The beef tenderloin kebab and steak frites were both excellent, and the whipped feta was easily our favorite dish--definitely a must-order. My only complaint is that some of the portions felt small for the price. The Greek Village Salad wasn't worth it in my opinion; for about $20, it was mostly large chunks of tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and feta. Parking on South Congress can also be a bit of a hassle. Overall, the food and ambiance were great. I'd come back, but I wouldn't be rushing to do so.
