My wife and I went to Red Lobster for the Endless Shrimp. We were seated right away. It wasn't busy at all. The waitress came very quickly and brought us some of the delicious Chesapeake Bay Biscuits and took our drink orders. We looked at our options and decided to start with the Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp and the NEW Marry Me Shrimp. Everything was really good except I wasn't a big fan of the Marry Me Shrimp. They used to have a couple of other kinds of shrimp that I liked better, but they weren't a choice anymore. I would like to see the Grilled Shrimp Skewers and the Spicy Dragon Shrimp back as choices. The waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was kinda drab. We were seated in a back room with one other couple. It was kind of dark and very quiet. I think there might have been five customers in the whole restaurant. I honestly don't know how they keep the doors open. Every time we've been here, it's always the same...never busy. I like the seafood and I'll keep coming back as long as they're open. read more

For about eleven years I've had a running joke with the boyfriend that I'd take him to Red Lobster for his birthday since he loves seafood. I do not love it. At all. Plus it's like going to Olive Garden instead of eating in my Nana's kitchen. Anyway, we did Santa Day a little different this year and decided to get the joke out of the way. We had reservations for 8 p.m. and by then they were busy but more on the slowing down side. Our server had three tables when we arrived and was down to two within minutes of our arrival. I ordered a mocktail and never got it. Luckily I wasn't charged for it. We also asked for water. We didn't get it until we asked again when my side salad was brought out. Cutting slack because it was a holiday and even though a manageable crowd, I can only assume the entire day was quite the opposite. Also, our server was a total sweetheart. My salad was fresh. The cheddar biscuits were addictive but I controlled myself and only ate half of one. I won't tell you how many the boyfriend had. I will tell you two baskets were delivered to us. He said his crab carbonara was ok. Nothing special. The portion was huge. I swear it was an entire box of spaghetti. He'll be eating it for days. I had sirloin and a baked potato. I ate half the potato and a couple of bites of the steak. I asked for medium-well but it was absolutely well-done. It hurt my teeth to try and eat it. I didn't want to complain because again, holiday. I brought the leftovers home--between the boyfriend and dog they won't go to waste. A three-star rating for a three-star experience. read more

The real standout this evening was my server Diana. She knows the menu inside and out and her service was kind and attentive. She made the whole experience better. The food was very good as well. My husband promised to take our kids after sharing a nostalgic story about taking a girl to Red Lobster on his first date. We were seated almost immediately on a Sunday afternoon, which was surprising because usually restaurants are busy during this time. My husband ordered the New Orleans style salmon while I had the shrimp feast with shrimp scampi, Walt's, famous shrimp, and shrimp Alfredo. My children ordered the popcorn shrimp and the chicken tenders and they all enjoyed their meals. The one thing that I was disappointed in was that the salads were no longer complementary as I recalled from when I came years ago. However, what made this visit special was the hostess at the front. I wish I could remember her name, but she took the lobsters out of the tank and showed my children and allowed my kids to pet them. She even gave a quick lesson on how they typically live in the sea and how you have to burp them after taking them out from the water. The restaurant is a bit dark, the booth seats felt a bit sticky and I feel that it could be updated and that is the only reason why I've taken off a few stars, but the staff was great and the service was good. read more

So I just called Red Lobster a dumpster fire in my last review of another seafood restaurant. On a corporate level yes; this IS my Red Lobster in South Austin. Last review 2009 and truthfully I don't dine here too often as I don't work in town. Another update, Sheryl who mentioned way back when is still there. 42 years at this location! The reason for this visit was two fold. Support the folks that have taken care of me for all these years. Second, Rooster loves fish and chips and wanted to make sure he had a cheddar biscuit fix before summer. The day before Rooster and I spent half the afternoon looking for his retainer in his room. We didn't find it, but I did find two leftover Vanilla gift card he had forgotten about. We had $155 combined to use so why not splurge. GF, son, mom and myself met for lunch. Sure enough Sheryl greeted us and led us to our table. No appetizers consumed because biscuits! Our server was amazing; drinks refilled promptly. All necessary tools provided for the feast to crack those crab legs! Rooster got his Fish and Chip fix; GF had a bowl of chowder and calamari. I settled in for the Ultimate Feast. I do like that it's customizable these days as I usually don't want the fried shrimp. For today I chose the snow crab legs, Maine lobster tail, and double shrimp scampi. Not gonna talk sides except the rock lobster tail I added. Every seafood item cooked gloriously. Scampi was garlic butter excellence; snow crab legs cracked with ease. Maine lobster tail versus the rock tail provided different nuances in flavor. With gift cards used we owed $6. Add in tip and we dined in extravagance for $46. Support your local RL! read more

We've given this place plenty of chances over the years and I'd really hoped for things to improve this time. Picked up a large order for my father's birthday dinner and not only did they leave out the fish and chips (ordered and paid for an hour in advance + extra fifteen minute wait, forced to refund after they refused to deliver), the cheddar bay biscuits were cold and the lobster in the seafood boil looked more like a mystery nugget picked off of the kitchen floor. It's been awhile since I've been to Red Lobster and every time I have ever been here the menu has changed and today, well it was a new menu! Not as many selections as there has been previously and if course the prices have gone up! While the food was ok, I was disappointed that I could no longer get what I normally get. Red lobster used to be a lovely place to go for seafood without the high prices of seafood, of course the quality was never supposed to be as good either but you get what you pay for. There prices have sky rocketed for worse quality of food. Be pared if you order any pasta to dig the shrimp out and remove the tails yourself. I asked our very nice waitress about the tails on the shrimp and she said that's just how they serve shrimp pastas now. The endless shrimp is only cool if you plan to stay hours and come alone because the rest of your party will be done with their food before your second portion ever arrives. First, I appreciate the sign notifying customer that they were short staffed today. I hope others were patient with the employees. Second, I wish previous reviewers would understand restaurants and businesses are struggling right now with covid. I can see why they have had to close early, etc. Considering they were short staffed the wait wasn't as long as quoted. We were on a 30 minute wait but had a table in 20 minutes. The food was decent as any other Red Lobster and portions were large. The salad was fresh and everything came out pretty quickly. Our waitress was friendly and kept an appropriate distance when waiting on us. It seams the staff worked well as a team. I haven't been to Red Lobster in many years but I was given a gift card and today I went for lunch. I was seated immediately ordered iced tea, a bowl of clam chowder blackened salmon with Caesar salad and a baked potato. Chowder was great, their famous biscuits were warm and cooked perfectly. Salad was fresh and ample. Salmon was cooked perfectly fork pull apart with shrimp all was great. Service was fast and cleared away dishes when I was finished with them. The restaurant was very clean plenty of parking and easy in and out. I recommend this Red Lobster I'll come back for sure. read more

Sooo, yesterday we celebrated my husband's birthday at Red Lobster. My husband was standing where the Hostess should have been at for at least 10 mins. My husband took it upon himself to go and find her, well while he was looking for her 3 Caucasian women came in also waiting. The Hostess walks up with my husband as he proceeds to ask for our table of six, the hostess than proceeds to point over my husband and asks if he was there before them. I was so upset! We are Hispanic why would she just assume that my husband cut in front of them. I truly felt offended by her actions, and it ruined the entire evening. This is based upon a delivery order. We were in the mood for something different and had not eaten here in 2-3 years. We placed an order through a third party delivery service and were quite surprised that it arrived hot and tasty. We had ordered mozzarella sticks, biscuits and a lobster and langoustine pizza. Eclectic eh? Well, the biscuits were as good in the past, the mozzarella sticks (I am sure not fresh made, but they rarely are in any restaurant), the pizza on a bit of the small side but big in flavor. I put it on a pizza stone for a few minutes and the thin crust cooperated fully. It did not stuff us and that was perfect. Would I get that in the restaurant? Probably not as I would steer towards some of their other offerings that might not travel well or being reheated. Definitely going back inside when life events settle. read more

Customer Service is abysmal I tried to place an order at a local Red Lobster today. My first time in about 5 years. I've heard things have improved with the menu, customer service etc. Since I am staying in a hotel directly across from a Red Lobster, I called at about 940 to place a pick up order. I noticed the hours were til 10pm. But I figured my order was simple enough and I a less that .2 miles away-shouldnt be a problem. Well, I called and the gentleman, that answered, told me that they are not taking over the phone orders at this time, but if I come in then all will be fine. I arrived at exactly 945. and the doors were locked. I knocked and the manager saw me but held up a finger, indicating that I should wait. five minutes later she came to the door. Mind you it is about 28 degrees outside. I asked her if I could place an order, since I was advised to come in to place an order. She told me their system is down and they could not take my order. I explained, I just spoke to someone that told me if I can be there before closing they should be able to take my order. She the told me, I must have called a main line that is not the store number. I knew this to be a lie. I called the number again and she picked up. I asked her how is it that you picked up, since this is supposed to be a main line, not directly connected to this location. It was obvious they shut the store down early. Because when I arrived there was another customer that was turned away before me and he asked "did they help you?" I said no. Apparently, closing at 10 means 9-930ish. The location was 2702 A Parker Road Round Rock, TX 78681 manager name was Mousonze (Sic), she refused to spell her name. I get that they were having a slow night but this type of service, leaves a bad taste-no pun intended. read more

We went to Red Lobster for my dad's birthday, and our experience was great. Our food came out in a very timely manner, and it was DELICIOUS. Our waiter was so consistent and amazing- he constantly checked on us and definitely played a huge role in how much we enjoyed our visit. Though I do not remember his name, he was a young man with dark curly-ish hair. The young woman bartender with an amazing and cheerful personality, thank you! You had my parents smiling and laughing. The atmosphere is overall very nice and clean. I'm not saying ignore other reviews, but give this location a chance. We were treated wonderfully and I think you should give it a chance, too. The food is Always Cooked to Perfection and Never Fails to Taste Delicious Kudos to the Chefs Our Waiter this time was Eric and I have to Say how Attentive he was ! There was Never a time that he was Not Available for Anything we needed with a Smile on his face and a Receptive Attitude ! The Daily Specials they have at Red Lobster are always amazing and Priced Unbelievably ! We both chose the Lobster and Shrimp Scampi meals with one Side Dish (My husband had Rice and I Love their Baked Potatoes!) The choice we made for our dinners is definitely something you MUST Try ! My husband and I were seated in an Intimate Booth and we Felt our Privacy was well deserved and respected. After completing our Delicious Dinners, we met Diane. Don't knock Red Lobster in Austin as I swear this is one of the best places in S. Austin to get good quality seafood without having to break the bank or head up north Austin to find some great seafood. They provide timely and fantastic service every time we come in. During peak times (dinner) I would highly suggest calling ahead if you have a big party. Otherwise do not get deterred by estimated wait times if they are given to you when you show up - things move fast and they have plenty of space for you and your party. Just wait or hang out outside til your name is called. From appetizers and our main entrees all of the food was delicious, hot, and fresh! We went shrimp crazy when we came in and boy we left with bellies full! I highly suggest checking out their week day lunch specials on the menu (I wish I had taken a picture of it) but they have some great specials for real great prices! Our service was fantastic - we never had an empty beverage glass and our waitress was prompt and kind with us as we took our time to decide what we wanted. Our waitress had a few full and large party tables and was hustling and appreciated her attention to us as well as those around us. This is my second experience writing a review for a to-go order at this location. The first time I ordered, I was given a time my order would be done by. I arrived at that time and there was no staff at the front. My daughter and I had to wait for a bit until someone finally greeted us, then it turned out the order wasn't ready on time. We waited about 15 min. We had ordered the crab leg surf and turf to split between my 2 young daughters. The crab legs were a hit, as was the Brussels sprouts, but the steak was a bit overdone and tough. Today, I ordered to-go for my kids again. There wasn't a surf and turf option with crab legs, which was disappointing because it was a reasonable price, even if the steak was over cooked I felt we could give it another try. Oh well. We ordered one of the seafood feasts. My daughters wanted 2 orders of crab legs and 2 orders of shrimp scampi along with Orzo and Brussels Sprouts. I requested the utensils that assist with the crab legs, as they were previously provided to us. When I arrived, again, there was no one at the front. I had to wait for a little bit. I was a little bit late to pick up my order due to traffic, and my order had been just left sitting out. Additionally, when I was finally helped, I asked if everything was in the order, including utensils for the crab. She said yes, everything was there. When we got home, there were no mute sims for the crab so I had 2 young children fighting to open each crab leg (I have a shellfish allergy, so I'm unable to assist them), and there was only one very small order of shrimp scampi, not the 2 requested when I placed my order. I'm talking twice as much rice than there was shrimp. So 1/4 of my order wasn't included and utensils weren't provided (even though the staff member told me she checked and they were there) meaning a lot of the crab probably went to waste since my kids couldn't get to it without the requested utensils - all for $50+ (including tip). Yeah I'm not coming back. Totally not worth it. read more

I left a disappointing review sunday, mother's day about a disappointing delivery order. I'd like to say that I've never been disappointed with in-store dining. I'm sure they were super busy because of mothers day. But I returned some food to the store the next day and the manager was super, super helpful and understanding and gave me a full refund and some gift cards which I gave to my roommate since it was my intention to treat her for mother's day. Where I live I call her "Mama Matriarch" and Queen of the Realm because she is so serviceful and she looks forward to someday using them in in-store dining, taking my recommendations for their super delicious brussel sprouts. I've dined at several Red Lobster locations and this one is really outdated. As soon as you walk in, the musty carpet odor hits you. I have a keen sense of smell and this almost made me walk right out but hubby wanted to eat here. However, once we were seated, the odor disappeared so I guess it's only in the main entrance/waiting area. Our server was attentive and polite. Food was made exactly as ordered and the drinks were delicious. It's a standard restaurant chain that doesn't really stand out from the pack. We were really in the mood for lobster. There's a great lobster roll place we go to but it's much further away so we went here. We didn't expect much and that's about what we got. We ordered live Maine lobsters. They didn't take too long but were delivered to our table with no melted butter or extra napkins. We did each have 2 wet wipes and bibs. Our cleaned and split lobsters were only split on the tails, the only part you really don't need help splitting. Our butter took a while as did the extra napkins. The lobsters (we had them steamed) were delicious. Can't say the same for the sides though. The biscuits were almost too salty to eat. The baked potatoes were overcooked and mushy, the broccoli tasteless and the coleslaw was drenched in a nasty, tasteless dressing. A shame that such amazing seafood could be brought down with the whole experience. It was nice to be able to pay the tablet at the table instead of having to wait for the elusive waitress. read more
