    Salmon New Orleans*
    Brandelyn G.

My husband promised to take our kids after sharing a nostalgic story about taking a girl to Red Lobster on his first date. We were seated almost immediately on a Sunday afternoon, which was surprising because usually restaurants are busy during this time. My husband ordered the New Orleans style salmon while I had the shrimp feast with shrimp scampi, Walt's, famous shrimp, and shrimp Alfredo. My children ordered the popcorn shrimp and the chicken tenders and they all enjoyed their meals. The one thing that I was disappointed in was that the salads were no longer complementary as I recalled from when I came years ago. However, what made this visit special was the hostess at the front. I wish I could remember her name, but she took the lobsters out of the tank and showed my children and allowed my kids to pet them. She even gave a quick lesson on how they typically live in the sea and how you have to burp them after taking them out from the water. The restaurant is a bit dark, the booth seats felt a bit sticky and I feel that it could be updated and that is the only reason why I've taken off a few stars, but the staff was great and the service was good.

So I just called Red Lobster a dumpster fire in my last review of another seafood restaurant. On a corporate level yes; this IS my Red Lobster in South Austin. Last review 2009 and truthfully I don't dine here too often as I don't work in town. Another update, Sheryl who mentioned way back when is still there. 42 years at this location! The reason for this visit was two fold. Support the folks that have taken care of me for all these years. Second, Rooster loves fish and chips and wanted to make sure he had a cheddar biscuit fix before summer. The day before Rooster and I spent half the afternoon looking for his retainer in his room. We didn't find it, but I did find two leftover Vanilla gift card he had forgotten about. We had $155 combined to use so why not splurge. GF, son, mom and myself met for lunch. Sure enough Sheryl greeted us and led us to our table. No appetizers consumed because biscuits! Our server was amazing; drinks refilled promptly. All necessary tools provided for the feast to crack those crab legs! Rooster got his Fish and Chip fix; GF had a bowl of chowder and calamari. I settled in for the Ultimate Feast. I do like that it's customizable these days as I usually don't want the fried shrimp. For today I chose the snow crab legs, Maine lobster tail, and double shrimp scampi. Not gonna talk sides except the rock lobster tail I added. Every seafood item cooked gloriously. Scampi was garlic butter excellence; snow crab legs cracked with ease. Maine lobster tail versus the rock tail provided different nuances in flavor. With gift cards used we owed $6. Add in tip and we dined in extravagance for $46. Support your local RL!

We've given this place plenty of chances over the years and I'd really hoped for things to improve this time. Picked up a large order for my father's birthday dinner and not only did they leave out the fish and chips (ordered and paid for an hour in advance + extra fifteen minute wait, forced to refund after they refused to deliver), the cheddar bay biscuits were cold and the lobster in the seafood boil looked more like a mystery nugget picked off of the kitchen floor. Never again.

The bartender Bianca was absolutely amazing. Let me know about happy hour drinks, suggested the crab carbanara and it was sooo good! Only bad thing: the bar tile was making my feet slip. Definitely coming back to see Bianca! What an amazing Christmas experience!

Terrible!BEWARE!!!! Found a roach in my food. This is so gross and unsanitary. I ate some of the pasta where the same spot i noticed that theres little dead roach in it. This is beyond unacceptable! This is a big health risk! I am so upset. G

    Tails on shrimp pasta

Red lobster used to be a lovely place to go for seafood without the high prices of seafood, of course the quality was never supposed to be as good either but you get what you pay for. There prices have sky rocketed for worse quality of food. Be pared if you order any pasta to dig the shrimp out and remove the tails yourself. I asked our very nice waitress about the tails on the shrimp and she said that's just how they serve shrimp pastas now. The endless shrimp is only cool if you plan to stay hours and come alone because the rest of your party will be done with their food before your second portion ever arrives. It seems they wait you out so your food settles therefore not full anymore. Never going to any red lobster ever again and that's sad because my family & I used to love it.

Quiet, clean and so good! Service was excellent and our food tasted amazing! Fresh, hot and tasty! Definitely will visit again!

I had no idea it was even here and I LOVE PHO. I've been under the weather with horrible allergies and I was craving a great bowl of Pho Soup, so I finally Googled "Pho in Westlake, and Lee's came up. So I called up, ordered and drove over. The ambiance is super cute and clean. THIS SOUP BLEW MY MIND!!! This soup blew anything out of the water that I have tasted in Vietnam. Healthy and hardy portion. We started off with the spring rolls. These were the freshest Spring rolls I have ever tasted, and the sauce was incredible. Then we moved onto the 1 Beef Pho and 1 Vegetable Pho that we ordered. I put some beef in the Vegetable Pho, and it tasted phenomenal. As well, I wanted to add that I don't even like tofu, but the tofu that was in the soup was so fresh and spongy. Nothing like you've ever tasted, in a fabulous, unexpected but tasty way. THE BEEF BROTH WAS AMAZING!!! EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE!!! MY NEW GO TO PHO PLACE!!! Shout out to Brittany and your take out crew/staff........for being Extremely hospitable and inviting. ONLY SUGGESTION-I've been in marketing & sales, the restaurant industry, and the hospitality industry for over 32 YEARS. Now I'm in Corporate Real Estate. I've travelled the whole world and what I am telling you is that YOU HAVE THE BEST PHO SOUP I'VE EVER TASTED.......AND I HAD NO IDEA YOU WERE EVEN THERE!!! (and I've been in Westlake for 10 years, and I drive into that parking lot, minimally 3 times a day, for one reason or another). Why is this? How come I didn't know you were there?......Besides the fact that I never googled "Pho Westlake". I'll tell you why......from my experience and expertise, it because of your signage and name. With the name "Lee's Kitchen and Cocktails", I thought you were just another Chinese restaurant, and were loyalists to Chinatown Westlake. Which leads me back to how can we fix this, and generate you more business?! I'll tell you how you do it....I like your name, but I would have your signage company make a BIG black and white, LARGE sign in Italic, that says "PHO". Then have a bowl of soup with chopsticks coming out of it. But minimally a LARGE "PHO" in writing. I'd place it to the right of LEE'S Kitchen and Cocktails. That way every one will know what you serve, when they look at your name. Then I would go on all your social media platforms and ADD "PHO" to your name. Either LEE'S PHO-Kitchen + Cocktails, or something to that effect. LEE'S Kitchen + Cocktails-PHO. Had I seen this on the wall for the last 10 years, 3 times a day, I WOULD HAVE STOPPED, COME IN, AND BEEN YOUR CUSTOMER FOR THE LAST 2 PLUS YEARS. Please take my suggestion to heart and I can't wait to see your business thrive, even more than it already is. With love, Joanne and family

Overall: 3.9/5 [delivery]…read more We always order from Lee's Kitchen and Cocktails whenever we are craving hainan chicken on UberEats. It is on the pricier side compared to other Vietnamese restaurants so it is not something we get too often. Hainan Chicken ($25): Really good and feels like a healthier option. Make sure you use all of the sauce though because that is where the flavor is. It also comes with a broth that is so good we just drank it straight. Honestly better than the pho broth. Chicken Pho with Beef Broth ($23): The shredded chicken was overcooked and the broth was just alright. The portion was generous though.

I ended up parking on the street. I had brunch at Dish Society and you can either order from a QR code on your table or order at the counter. I downloaded their app and initially was sent an offer for a free beverage. I ordered the Spiced Apple Cider and it hit the spot and was so warm and flavorful the perfect comfort beverage. For my breakfast entree I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, gulf shrimp, smoked gouda grits, tabasco shallot butter sauce, bacon crumbles, sunny side vital farms egg. I got the Tabasco sauce on the side and the grits had a great flavor and texture for a very savory and flavorful dish. I also came during the social hour and took advantage of $7 cocktails and ordered the spicy strawberry margarita with socorro tequila, paula's orange, jalapeño, strawberry, tajin. I used my free bday entree coupon from the app to order the Citrus glazed salmon to go. It had pan seared citrus glazed salmon with organic quinoa, tomato, red onion, avocado, citrus segments, & mint. I also added the quinoa stuffed avocado halves topped with organic citrus quinoa, tomato and onion, citrus segments, mint, & organic greens with white balsamic vinaigrette. The to-go food was packed securely and was still fresh to consume when I arrived at home. Service was attentive and friendly, the ambiance was inviting, and the menu has a great balance of indulgent dishes and lighter, health-conscious options. The food is good overall--fresh, well-prepared, and reliable--but it doesn't quite reach the level of being incredible. Crispy Cauliflower was a bit of a miss for me - fried but sitting in some overly sweet sauce. A few bites were more than enough to satiate the curiosity. I have a few I adore, but my personal favorite will be JewBoy Sliders. I've been to two of the four Slider locations on 6th Street and the South Lamar one, and I've returned to the South Lamar location the most, so this is where the review is going. Their menu is pretty simple. You have an option between two, four, or twelve sliders, or one or two sliders with a side. I always opt for their "Weekend Getaway" with two sliders and fries. There are four sliders to choose from now. There used to be just two, but they've moved on up like Curtis Mayfield. The first is The Gringo with American cheese, smoky mayo, and pickles, and it's your basic slider. It's very sweet and goes down real easy. You eat one and could find yourself eating twelve. They're just a perfect traditional slider. I always gotta get a Gringo. The next of the two originals is the Vato, which is their original spicy slider. It has pepper jack cheese, hatch green chile ranch, and grilled jalapeños. It's moderately spicy, but it's not going to stop you in your tracks. I find it a good complement to the OG Gringo. The first of the two newer flavors is the Redneck, which is like a BBQ burger with American cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon, and fried onions. It's a strong flavor and it's definitely doing what it set out to do, but doesn't have that same immediate impact you get from the Gringo or the Vato. The final new addition is the Red Ass, a two-pepper-emoji threat not for the faint of heart. It has pepper jack cheese, fried jalapeño strings, and their evil spicy asshole sauce. It does not mess around. That sucker has a kick and will punch you in the face for looking at it funny. I love it though. Mix it with the Gringo and it's a combo of love and hate. It's endearing to have a slider that's sweet and lovely and one that feels evil at heart. I always get the fries as my side of choice, and they load me up with so many I always share some. They also slide me a smoky mayo sauce on the side for the fries. It's just excellence in a cup. If you're ever at St. Elmo, The Domain, 6th Street, or South Lamar, you gotta give JewBoy Sliders a chance and be amazed by how much flavor can be packed in their potato rolls. RIYL: All the fries you can give me

I was really craving a great salad, so I decided to go in. At first you walk up and order, and then the clerk at the front, like all other places turns the screen around and says "One last question", and then stares at you, while you read their 3 tipping options. So you're standing there, guilted into tipping, by an individual that only pressed a couple of buttons, only to have the kitchen get your order wrong. At an establishment like this, it would be nice if you could tip at the end, after the whole experience, instead of out of obligation at the beginning, because you have an individual begging for it. Anyways. So after I ordered I waited, only to get a $20 salad that had 4 small pieces of chicken and with the Miso dressing which I didn't order. I ordered the Lemon Avocado Vinaigrette which came with no snap peas, when I ordered extra. Then when I finally was able to flag someone down and tell them what had happened, she said "Ok" and went back and got a bowl of snap peas. No "I'm sorry" or "Let us remake it" I wouldn't have had them remake it because I hate wasting food.....but what I hate more is feeling like crap, undervalued and unappreciated. Where was the customer service? If you want a great salad, go here......but don't expect to get what you ordered, after you've been strong armed into tipping, and when you bring it up, expect an eye roll like you're inconveniencing them. I think I'll be taking all my Rollingwood women's group friends, to the new spot for a try......Sweet Green in the HEB parking lot.....or I'll go into HEB and buy a whole rotisserie chicken for $6 and a bag of salad for another $4 and go enjoy two salads at home. For such a casual place, y'all sure act uppity, entitled and as if, you're serving Grey Poupn on top of a Grade A slab of Prime Rib.
