Poke-poke has excellent food and I have enjoyed eating here. I came today to grab me some lunch as I'm not here in this part of town very often and I was looking forward to - Poke bowl. Their systems were down, though I found it interesting that Uber eats was still functional. Technology fails at times so no problem. Then I learned that they don't take cash. I have a problem with businesses that do not take US currency. I also respect business owners rights to do what they wanna do, but I want business owners to understand that decisions have consequences. Since you do not take United States currency, and you must use plastic at your restaurant, unfortunately I will not be returning no matter how good your food is. Just thought I would share! One of my favorite poke spots (if not, my fav)!! I love the fact that you can pick between salmon or tuna, or a mix and that you can add either rice as your entire base or mix it with any of their salads (mine was an incredible cucumber salad). I absolutely loved the flavors and additions that i added (avocado and edamame). i do with that the size was maybe a little bit bigger, but i understand its straight cuts of thick raw fish, so makes sense its not a super huge portion. There are quite a few poke places in austin, but none like poke poke. This is the only poke place I feel confident knowing I'm getting good quality raw fish. I always eat the Lil Ahi Poke JT's style, and it never disappoints. The staff is so kind and welcoming, often remembering me and my order. It's genuinely a great experience. 4 stars because of the price. I feel like every few months it gets more and more expensive. For my small bowl (one scoop of poke and one scoop of white rice) and a drink, it's $17.50 + tip. Definitely a good place to eat if you're not starving, as the portions would be too small (unless you get a pound, which would be upward of $35). There's a tiny lane that goes through this strip mall area which is where you can park but it's super tight. Poke Poke has a window around the front that you can now order from / pick up from. I got the traditional spicy poke bowl with ahi tuna and didn't want to change much since I was trying this place for the first time. Although the portion (small) looks tiny, it's rather filling! The Poke itself was tasty. I'll probably try another next time.
