Saw this nearby and decided to check it out for the first time since I love poke. I like that they also sell boba drinks. However, they are overpriced and charge more for certain toppings. They also limit the number of toppings you can get. Sashimi doesn't taste that fresh but I like the ube mochi ice cream. There are better poke places in Austin

Loved the poke here! The store is small with seating both inside and outside. I got the skinny bowl which came with 2 proteins for $12.99. I think for the size of the bowl it was a little pricey but they filled it up to the brim with toppings. The fish tasted fresh and they had a ton of toppings to choose from. More than most poke places I've gone to. The wasabi sauce is actually spicy and the mango mayo brought some fruity freshness to the bowl. I also noticed they offered different deals throughout the week. It was $1 mochi Monday when I visited. I didn't get one but I will be coming back here again to try out their other deals.

We ate here yesterday for dinner, and very much enjoyed it. We were able to get seated immediately and without a reservation, which was nice. As for the food, it was all delicious! The ono bowl was on point, and I very much enjoyed it. My fiancé also liked her Alani bowl as well. Overall, it was a good dinner experience at Poke Austin. We will be back!

Love this place!! My 2nd time here and love trying different variations of their poke bowls. Ono last time was great with white rice and spring mix as a base as suggested by the server. This time I did just white rice and it was too much. The tempura house special is good, but definitely won't go with tempura next time since it takes up so much bowl space and I don't get enough raw. The service is great and they are doing rewards points now, just enter your phone number. If you're on this side of town, try this place for a quick bite.

Probably one of the worst Poke Bowls I have ever had! The rice was hard and chewy, the proteins didn't taste fresh, the avocado ($2.00 extra) was hard and should not have been served for another 2-3 days. Like some have already noted, the portions are hilariously small compared to the price. A Poke bowl this size is half the price in many other places that I've been. I will not be returning, unless you enjoy disappointment then I certainly would not recommend you going either.

We weren't sure if it came with macaroni so we ordered a large side of Mac and it was HUGGGGGEEEE!! Totally worth the price as well considering it's delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked, as well as the rice. The entire combination is sooooo good. I loved mixing all three, the chicken, Mac, and rice together for a super yummy bite. It didn't take too long as well! Quick delivery. Definitely recommend if you're looking for authentic Hawaiian food!

There's a lot of room for improvement though. I'm going to admit right up front that I know very little about what might be considered authentic when it comes to Hawaiian BBQ, and I'm sure Hawaiian Bros is not where near whatever that is, but... I became obsessed with H'Bros a little while back and was perpetually whining that there wasn't one closer to where I live. So imagine my shame to discover L&L just up the street, that's been there since at least 2023, and I had never even noticed it. The storefront is tiny, so I'll give myself a little wiggle room for not having spotted it, but their external signage is very clear and the inside is clean/well maintained, so really I have no excuse. We easily put in an order online, it was ready for pick-up almost instantly, and the staff was very friendly and quick when we arrived to scoop it. Now, this is where I might lose people with my ignorance, because I just don't think this was a good as Hawaiian Bros. However, given it's decidedly closer location to my house, it certainly is a 100% viable stand in. I got the BBQ chicken with mac-salad, regular salad, and rice. The mac-salad was the best thing, but I do wish it had been colder (the temperature extremes is part of what I enjoy at H'Bros). The flavor was great though, and I wish I had gotten double mac-salad instead of the regular salad, because... Well, calling that a salad was a little generous. It was just a few too large leaves buried under a mountain of tomatoes and one oddly long, chunky cucumber? Though I did combain my lettuce with my chicken for little "salad wrap" things and that was a pretty good. The chicken was well flavored, and I'm a little picky about my meat quality, so I was very excited to find nice, tender, pieces without sinews or fatty chunks. Solid bold flavor in the sauce, that walked a good line between sweet/savory. Rice was comparable to H'Bros, no, actually it was better. People sleep on good white rice, and I don't want to do that. So their rice is quite good. My husband got the mixed BBQ plate, and said everything was really good, but he wished he had just gotten the chicken cause it was the best. I also got a spam musubi and butter mochi, both of which were pretty disappointing, but the only time I've enjoyed spam musubi is when we made it at home, so maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about there. Like, I said at the start, we'll for sure go back, and it will help kill the H'bros craving, but ultimately, if I'm comparing the two? L&L is just not as good.

The young lady taking our orders did a great job of explaining to relatively diverse menu. Lots of cool options (tortas, birria "pizzas," plates, tacos, and their famous Kong Burrito which is a massive beast loaded with all the traditional burrito fillings and then some added fries and bacon. They then top it with cheese and more bacon. Insane. We opted to go with some tacos and a couple of their quesabirria (their other flagship offering). The torta quesabirria was decadent... topped with cheese and served with a cup of consume on the side. We got 3 different tacos, and the meat in each was verrry similar. Delicious, but not much difference between the beef offerings. The tables outside were clean, but it was somewhat loud with the highway right there and music playing from the truck boombox. All accounted for, the price was good, the food was tasty, and the people were great.

I was genuinely excited to check this spot out and left severely underwhelmed. The good? Well, our server was attentive and nice. 10/10. The drinks were pretty on point for a tiki bar. The ambiance is primo, and it's genuinely a great place for a date to have drinks. The bad? The food was very lackluster. We ordered the following: Snow Crab Musubi: I honestly don't understand how you mess this up. The menu claims it comes with kewpie mayo (my favorite) and chives, but the quenelle of crab that was put on top of the rice was bone dry, falling apart, didn't appear to have any chives, and was served with a haggard lemon wedge. There was zero fat to coat the tongue, and it legitimately tasted like unseasoned crab with sushi rice that didn't even have a hint of acidity to it. As someone who takes pride in his work as a chef, at the $14 price point, this sort of rubbed me the wrong way. As a matter of fact, it felt borderline pretentious. This is coming from a guy whose mentor was the R&D chef of the best restaurant in the entire world. And no, I'm not being hyperbolic. I simply take pride in my work. This restaurant group actually has an R&D kitchen, and the best thing they can muster up is this half-baked dish? Do a light cold smoke on the crab, make a nice Knorr-based soy mayo for some umami, and top that f*cker with something to brighten it up. Preferably something that has synergy with... I don't know, Hawaiian BBQ. I felt like I was eating a lackluster Asian version of a Crab Louie Salad. It was absolutely bonkers. Slingin Shrimp: This honestly wasn't that bad, but the presentation and portion size could use a little love. The shrimp submarine makes it a bit awkward to eat. Butterfly the shrimp. It will sit nicely on top of the rice and give it more appeal. As mentioned before, the sushi rice had zero acidity to it and simply not well seasoned. Li'l Octo Karaage: It tasted great, but the guys in the kitchen need to know how to cook squid. It was far too chewy, which is unpleasant. This is a quality issue that could easily be remedied. I will also say the fryer oil appeared a little old because the fry itself had a fairly dark appearance. The drinks and ambiance were the only highlights. It has really cool decor and a cozy vibe to it. If you're looking to get a couple of nice drinks after dining out or you're pregaming? This is a solid spot. If you're looking to impress a date or a friend from out of town? That's going to be a nope from me, dawg. Admittedly, that crab musubi just irked me. So boring. No love. Just unfiltered nonsense that only the uninitiated would be impressed by. I actually applied to work at their R&D spot a few years back, and from the looks of it, they could use a guy like me. Again, I was very excited to finally dine at this spot. Their ramen establishments tend to be fairly on point. Their dashis are great. No idea what's going on at their tiki spot.
