Saw this nearby and decided to check it out for the first time since I love poke. I like that they also sell boba drinks. However, they are overpriced and charge more for certain toppings. They also limit the number of toppings you can get. Sashimi doesn't taste that fresh but I like the ube mochi ice cream. There are better poke places in Austin

Loved the poke here! The store is small with seating both inside and outside. I got the skinny bowl which came with 2 proteins for $12.99. I think for the size of the bowl it was a little pricey but they filled it up to the brim with toppings. The fish tasted fresh and they had a ton of toppings to choose from. More than most poke places I've gone to. The wasabi sauce is actually spicy and the mango mayo brought some fruity freshness to the bowl. I also noticed they offered different deals throughout the week. It was $1 mochi Monday when I visited. I didn't get one but I will be coming back here again to try out their other deals.

We ate here yesterday for dinner, and very much enjoyed it. We were able to get seated immediately and without a reservation, which was nice. As for the food, it was all delicious! The ono bowl was on point, and I very much enjoyed it. My fiancé also liked her Alani bowl as well. Overall, it was a good dinner experience at Poke Austin. We will be back!

Love this place!! My 2nd time here and love trying different variations of their poke bowls. Ono last time was great with white rice and spring mix as a base as suggested by the server. This time I did just white rice and it was too much. The tempura house special is good, but definitely won't go with tempura next time since it takes up so much bowl space and I don't get enough raw. The service is great and they are doing rewards points now, just enter your phone number. If you're on this side of town, try this place for a quick bite.

The "Supreme Size" after a few bites

Probably one of the worst Poke Bowls I have ever had! The rice was hard and chewy, the proteins didn't taste fresh, the avocado ($2.00 extra) was hard and should not have been served for another 2-3 days. Like some have already noted, the portions are hilariously small compared to the price. A Poke bowl this size is half the price in many other places that I've been. I will not be returning, unless you enjoy disappointment then I certainly would not recommend you going either.

New go-to sushi spot -- no notes!!…read more Ordered to-go and was picking up within 20 minutes. Fast, kind service and a really nice layout if you're dining in. The rolls are creative without being try-hard, unexpected combos like asparagus and Fuji apple that actually work. Everything felt super fresh and well thought out. What I got: The Salmonlicious Roll (M9) was my favorite of the night, I ordered it without cream cheese and it was incredible. The apple adds this perfect sweetness that I didn't know I needed. The Big Easy Roll was a classic done right light, with a beautiful assortment of fish on top. Crunchy cucumbers, tangy yuzu. Chef's kiss. The Spicy Tuna (C4) was a solid classic, good quality fish. The Buddha Roll (M7) was also delicious. Edamame (A6) to start, simple and good. Also, first time using ponzu sauce instead of soy sauce and I am never going back. Game changer. Affordable, fresh, and already planning my return visit!!

I can't sit here and type up a review about the thing I didn't come to MUSE for. Long story short, do not bother trying the ramen here. I actually came to MUSE because they advertised their sandos online. It's the type of sando akin to the famed ones from Age.3 in Ginza and other Japanese spots. It's definitely more expensive than abroad, but it's genuinely the BEST thing here. It's actually so insanely good that I was afraid to eat too much of it. It's the definition of a guilty pleasure. The creme brulee one scares me just from what it makes me become... Word of advice, this place should rebrand to focus on sandos and drinks. Advertise, pop-up, whatever they have to do to get the name out there... I would go just for the sandos and you should too.

Hot tip: you can use your credit card at the machine so you don't even have to have a spare change. And If you're even remotely good at claw machine/crane prize games you are a high likelihood of winning something here. They're not all stuck down there or rigged at all. The tuna was really tough and I ended up throwing most of it away because of the texture. (It took me several minutes of aggressive chewing to get through each bite). The shrimp was ok. I ordered it spicy and it was a little too spicy for my liking (and I love spice). When I am panting like a dog, it's a problem lol. I was genuinely excited to check this spot out and left severely underwhelmed. The good? Well, our server was attentive and nice. 10/10. The drinks were pretty on point for a tiki bar. The ambiance is primo, and it's genuinely a great place for a date to have drinks. The bad? The food was very lackluster. We ordered the following: Snow Crab Musubi: I honestly don't understand how you mess this up. The menu claims it comes with kewpie mayo (my favorite) and chives, but the quenelle of crab that was put on top of the rice was bone dry, falling apart, didn't appear to have any chives, and was served with a haggard lemon wedge. There was zero fat to coat the tongue, and it legitimately tasted like unseasoned crab with sushi rice that didn't even have a hint of acidity to it. As someone who takes pride in his work as a chef, at the $14 price point, this sort of rubbed me the wrong way. As a matter of fact, it felt borderline pretentious. This is coming from a guy whose mentor was the R&D chef of the best restaurant in the entire world. And no, I'm not being hyperbolic. I simply take pride in my work. This restaurant group actually has an R&D kitchen, and the best thing they can muster up is this half-baked dish? Do a light cold smoke on the crab, make a nice Knorr-based soy mayo for some umami, and top that f*cker with something to brighten it up. Preferably something that has synergy with... I don't know, Hawaiian BBQ. I felt like I was eating a lackluster Asian version of a Crab Louie Salad. It was absolutely bonkers. Slingin Shrimp: This honestly wasn't that bad, but the presentation and portion size could use a little love. The shrimp submarine makes it a bit awkward to eat. Butterfly the shrimp. It will sit nicely on top of the rice and give it more appeal. As mentioned before, the sushi rice had zero acidity to it and simply not well seasoned. Li'l Octo Karaage: It tasted great, but the guys in the kitchen need to know how to cook squid. It was far too chewy, which is unpleasant. This is a quality issue that could easily be remedied. I will also say the fryer oil appeared a little old because the fry itself had a fairly dark appearance. The drinks and ambiance were the only highlights. It has really cool decor and a cozy vibe to it. If you're looking to get a couple of nice drinks after dining out or you're pregaming? This is a solid spot. If you're looking to impress a date or a friend from out of town? That's going to be a nope from me, dawg. Admittedly, that crab musubi just irked me. So boring. No love. Just unfiltered nonsense that only the uninitiated would be impressed by. I actually applied to work at their R&D spot a few years back, and from the looks of it, they could use a guy like me. Again, I was very excited to finally dine at this spot. Their ramen establishments tend to be fairly on point. Their dashis are great. No idea what's going on at their tiki spot.

I had never been, but it was really close to where I was at, so I gave it a try. First things first, this a beautiful location with lots of seating at the bar and throughout the restaurant. The service is A1, I sat at the bar and was very impressed with the team's chemistry back there (especially while training someone new, they were spot on). The drinks were wonderful as well, very refreshing and lots of flavor. I enjoyed a yuzu & lavender sour & a grapefruit margarita and was impressed with how flavor forward the drinks were while still having a great boozy after effect. Also, I know traditionally oysters aren't usually a thing that you enjoy during the months that don't have an R in them, but I have to say salt traders definitely defied that "rule". Hands down some of my favorite oysters I have EVER had; I enjoyed the Va Va Vooms from Maryland and the Demariscotta Oysters from Maine and still haven't been able to stop thinking about them (it's been about a week or so now & I'm already planning to go back)! I also enjoyed the torched scallop nigiri, the daily crudo, and the salmon plate (that Dijon bbq sauce was craaaazy good, I'll have to order an extra serving of the sauce on the side next time I enjoyed it so much). Lastly, this place has an amazing happy hour, which I noticed fills up fast. Highly recommend going to Salt Trader's if you haven't yet. Great spot for solo dining, with your partner in crime, or bringing a group!
