Food was delicious! However, the kitchen/food prep area looks like it needs to be updated. And that's not the only thing. I got trapped in the bathroom behind a heavy and sticky wooden door. I panicked when unlocking, and moving the handle while body shaming didn't work several times. I think I injured myself trying to do this. Don't recommend trying to do that. I had to bang on the door and beg to be let out. I like washing my hands before eating, so this isn't ideal for me. Eventually the door opened, but my nerves and my back are damaged now. read more

Poké-Poké - Ginger Salmon Poke - Poke Near Me - Austin, Texas

Ordered lunch to-go yesterday and spent $40 on two poke bowls. While they don't offer a "build your own bowl" option, you can make minor edits to the menu selections. At first, the bowl size seemed underwhelming for the price ($20+ each), but once we started eating, we realized the portions were actually pretty normal. I got the OG Bowl, and my boyfriend had the JT Spicy Bowl, which he really enjoyed. Overall, good quality and satisfying portions--just a bit pricey! read more

Paid $36 for two of the smallest to go container sizes of food. Tasted great, good quality but I....am still hungry and can't truly afford to go back at that price for that quantity. Obvi ate bc it was good tho. 1/2 rice 1/2 seaweed "bowl"....like...just add more rice? Not sure what I did wrong here read more

Poké-Poké - The size of a $16 bowl - Poke Near Me - Austin, Texas

Good not great. For a poke place that only does poke, I would just figure it would be a bit higher execution. Fish tasted ok but honestly not much better than the fish I could get at HeB. Rice tasted a bite stale. And the spicy flavors are not really that spicy. People are nice overall. Diner vibe inside but not really a place I'd stay and eat which is why I usually take to go. read more

This place is gross and overpriced for what you get. The tables were sticky - we tried more than one table after the first table was sticky. Do they clean them? It made me seriously worried for the cleanliness of the kitchen if they care that little about the dining room. I paid $17 for a medium (large to them) bowl of salmon in soy sauce and rice with some green onion sprinkled on it. This isn't the way to serve poke. The meat seemed fresh at least but I wouldn't go back. The bowls need to be heartier and more interesting with more flavor. read more

I ate here not too long ago. It's still delicious but I think they raised the prices? It used to be cheaper than the poke Austin restaurant down Brodie but now it's actually a little bit more expensive and the portion size is definitely smaller. It was $20 for me including tax and tip for a standard to go soup size container of poke; I had it with chips at home and felt comfortable but not super full or anything. Last time I went to poke Austin I was quite full after and I remember it cost about $16 for a standard bowl size so I think that's a better bang for your buck. But like I said, it does taste delicious! The cashier was also sweet. It's a standard fast food ambiance inside, nothing fancy but you can eat there at a clean table. read more

Poke -Poke is the best poke I have found in the Austin area. My quality bar is set to "Hawaii". The OG spicy is just as good as much of the poke on the island. JTs spicy poke is an excellent non-mayo spicy option. I love that you can get kale instead of rice as an option, even though the poke purist in me must have it with sushi rice. So good, will be back! read more

Biggest ripoff for mediocre poke ever. If you like this place you enjoy spending $20 on a bowl of rice a 4 bites of poke

Small portions. I ordered one bowl and they charged $1.00 for takeout. Place was empty. Go fig.

Good poke... with a rice situation that leaves a lot to be desired. The poke options are tasty and well prepared. Several formats (rice/salad bowls; wrap) together with a large degree of customization leave a lot of room for variety and discovery. For accompaniment of "sushi rice," the rice is not at all sushi-style rice but instead granulated and hard (jasmine? but not even that), more reminiscent of Chinese takeout. Admittedly an odd choice of a staple ingredient that doesn't work with otherwise good poke. Too pricey to get wrong. read more

Welcome to the Chipotle of poke bowls! 3 easy steps to follow or you can make it easy on yourself by ordering one of their signature bowls. Solid Poke with fresh tuna and salmon. I love the toppings and sauces here, they are light enough where you can still taste the fish. Staff were super friendly and efficient. Con: rice is on the dry side. If you are looking for soft sushi rice, this isn't it. I would recommend the seaweed or kale base instead. Overall great place!! I'll be back. read more

It's not that easy to find good sushi or poke in Texas without spending a lot of money. I'm so grateful for Poke-Poke because they provide fresh poke options and it always hits the spot! The fish is always fresh and perfectly balanced. My go-to right now is the Aloha Poke, but I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu items! read more

Poké-Poké - Aloha poke 1/2 lb - I ordered enough for extra to take home! - Poke Near Me - Austin, Texas

It's O V E R P R I C E D y'all. Man, I gotta say that Austin is not the place to get poke. Unless you want to pay way more than what it costs in Hawaii itself. Maybe it's the fact that TX doesn't touch any oceans, but the prices here are crazy. They don't have prices up on the board which I feel like needs to change! Customers want to know how much they're paying, so give it to us! The menu board for ordering is already complicated enough here, at least write down what the prices will be. I wanted to check Poke Poke out for so long ever since I tried Poke Austin on Brodie. I gotta say Poke Austin is the winner because of the larger portions, variety and freshness in sashimi too. Sure the quality of the fish at Poke Poke is great, but I wouldn't say that it beats Poke Austin's. It's on the same level, but too onion-y at Poke Poke. Keep it fresh and mellow--the way it's supposed to be! They only have two sizes for poke "bowls," which are more like poke plates. The small is way small, definitely not enough for an average human adult to eat and feel full. The larger size is crazy expensive, so you can forget about it. We ordered to go, and I actually liked that they use two separate containers for your rice and poke mix. Most places these days do the poke bowl straight up in a bowl, and mixing is pretty difficult without losing a few grains of rice here and there. Poke Poke otherwise shares the same parking plaza as Baskin Robbin's, so fret not...you will get free parking. They also have wifi and a happy hour that runs during early dinnertime from 4-7pm EVERY DAY for a $2 off dine-in experience. I guess they finally got their alcohol license! read more

Poké-Poké - a person's hand holding a bowl of food - Poke Near Me - Austin, Texas

Probably the worst poke I've had. And I've dined inSan Francisco, New York and had many places in Austin serve really tasty poke bowls. I called ahead of time to get insight into what bowl was best - 4oz or 8oz - and the attendant recommended an 8oz. This is the horrible example of an 8oz $18 bowl with extra kale, avocado, and a half rice and kale base. I am a newer resident to Austin and super disappointed. This was literally my first meal as a resident here and was poorly recommended. Save your money and go down the road to Poke Austin. read more

I give the food quality 5 stars..I give their limited selection 3 1/2 stars..I give their expensive prices 3 stars.

The poke is good, but I have a difficult time with the portion for the price. This was $25. I understand that you pay for quality, but I dislike the rice they serve. The staff are always friendly and it curbs my cravings for Hawaiian poke, but be prepared for some sticker shock. read more

Poké-Poké - "Large" poke with seaweed base for... $25 - Poke Near Me - Austin, Texas

Love me some poke-poke! I used to go to the one on Congress back when they were new, and I always forget this one is now in my neighborhood! I came by the other evening and it was just me and the worker. I was disappointed to see he was not wearing a mask or gloves. He took a bowl in the back to clean it after I ordered, which just seemed a little strange, like he should have done it after I left. It all Kind of grossed me out. I ordered the large poke and ate it all, as I usually do. It was delicious and fresh, as it usually is. I decided to let the other things slide since the poke was good. I love this place, but I hope they can work on correcting some of the other issues. read more

I'm sick and tired of ordering a pound of poke on Favor or Uber Eats and paying $2 for extra avocado, and then they never add it. I have called them on 3 different occasions pointing out that they didn't give me the extra avocado, and all 3 times the person says "that's because it already has avocado." DUH, I can read a menu! I selected to add extra. And then they have the audacity to not even offer me my $2 back that I was charged. The missing avocado has happened on at least 10 orders. My other main complaint is that 25% of the time, the poke tastes so fishy I have to throw it away. It sucks because the other 75% of the time it tastes fine. And when it tastes fine it's actually quite good. I've thrown away about $100 worth of poke over the past 3 years that was too fishy to eat since I've been coming here. They have only offered to refund my money once. (On one occasion in the past, I even had a young male manager argue with me and tell me my order isn't fishy. As though I'm crazy and just lying. He was horrible at his job.) I'm posting this because yet again tonight I paid $2 extra for avocado, I even asked the Favor runner to remind them to add it since I knew they wouldn't, and it wasn't included. As usual. And I took a big fishy smelly bite of fish that was mixed into my order. Once I tasted that, I had to throw it away. Again! Poke-Poke literally owes me over $100 with all the bad fish in the orders I've had to throw away and every order with missing avocado. I'm not even overstating that. You should make things right and send me a message offering to make me whole again. read more

First time here recently; walked in and it was empty but it didn't matter, we were craving this cuisine. The smell was unfamiliar but it didn't sway us either way. The only downside of this restaurant is portion size. However, their poke is top notch, a must try!

Overpriced and the portion was way too small! Don't reccomend , you can get a bigger bang for your buck elsewhere

I love the food but hate that the phone number on all media is wrong so you can't place a phone order.

Most authentic poke here in Austin that I've found so far. I'm from Oahu and finding real poke outside of Hawaii is so hard to find. While it's not on par with the poke from spots in Oahu like Fresh Catch, Tamuras, or Taniokas, it still hits the spot and I will be returning in the future. I did knock off a star because it is a tad overpriced (their large size would run ~$12 back in Oahu) and the rice wasn't as soft as it should be. It's possible the rice was a little stale/old. I'm just glad to find a spot that doesn't serve fake poke bowls that are packed with edamame beans, giant slices of avocados, cucumbers, etc, basically, things you will NEVER see in a poke bowl back in Hawaii. read more

Wayyy overpriced. I got a poke bowl and a kombucha that came out to $29!! The kombucha was $6?! Waited for my food and when it arrived in a Togo container, it was a very small portion for the price of $21..... very disappointing. Every other poke place I've been to stacks your bowl up super big for a cheaper price. I only gave 2 stars instead of 1 because it was tasty. I'll give them that. But I will never eat there again read more

Was excited when I learned they opened another location near some of my clients. Stopped for a late lunch during their soft open. FYI they do not have their liquor license YET so they are offering a free beer with purchase. The guy and woman working were super friendly and chatted with me while I ate since I was the only customer in. I got the OG with brown rice and added avocado and chili flake. The ingredients are super fresh which constitutes the price as poké is never an inexpensive meal. The restaurant has seating for 8 at the counter and tables for another 20 or so guests. I fire in the South part of Austin and want poke, do yourself a favor and go to Poke Poke on south congress... It's imperative that you look at the name and go for the place without the accents on the "E." Don't make the same mistake I did... They have very similar menu options, but the one on south congress is FAR SUPERIOR. For one, the fish quality.. Two, the attention to detail with the preparation on ingredients. Three, the flavor of the sauces. I originally had poke from Poke Poke on SOCO, and was BLOWN AWAY!!! I was excited that they had a location just down the street from where I lived... I WAS WRONG. Definitely not the same company.. If you want actual quality, look elsewhere. If you're ok with sub-par.. This might work for you. read more

More Joke than Poke. Ingredient options are limited (may be COVID related) portion size is really sad and presentation is not a consideration. Over all poor experience. The guy that took my order was very rude for no reason. He told me that there isn't a build your own bowl. So I ordered the salmon bowl. When I got home they gave me tuna. I've been to this location twice now, and I've been given small portions for the amount paid both times. The taste is very good and the ingredients seem fresh, but I feel like the restaurant bought a bunch of tupperware that was a little too small so they are trying to use it all up by screwing me. Love this spot. It's right in front of my office and this is my go to lunch place. The fish is really high quality. The interior is fun and relaxing. The tuna is a really good value. Overall great spot. I recommend getting the poke bowl "dirty style" with your rice and fish mixed together. read more

I was shocked at the price tag at first ($20 for what I got; there are cheaper options), but after tasting the fresh and vibrant ingredients, served as a rich and heaping portion, I was hooked. These flavors (especially in the Shiso Salmon bowl) are just like my family makes poke. The rice is cooked (this time at least) perfectly with a semi-sticky quality that can be picked up with chopsticks; that may not be important to you, but as a member of a rice-heavy culture, you have needs. I am definitely going to bring others and price-tag be damned. All that being said, I believe the owners focus on quality and freshness. So know you are paying for a great value. Not set up in the "usual" build-a-bowl line, but instead this is a hand-crafted experience with your chosen options. Vibe is nice and for a second I expect to step out to the salt-laden air of the Pacific. Basically, well done. read more

I ordered the Big Jim, and I was more than satisfied. It was excellent. The fish used tasted very fresh. The ingredients also tasted fresh. All the components were well-seasoned. It's just.. ok. Customer service is great, but quality of ingredients leaves a lot to be desired. Rice is consistently dry, hard, or undercooked and fish usually tastes like it was just thawed from the freezer. Used to love this location & chain, got it almost every week, but the repeated issues with ingredient quality alongside price increases (running about $23 for a large) means that this was my last visit.
