two bowls of food on a table

Gorgeous little poke shop in a neighborhood Randall's plaza. I believe they just opened this week and are training people. You'll probably have to wait a bit but it was no issue for us as I personally needed the time to look at all the options they offer then choose. Basically you start off deciding the base, if you'd want a salad or a rice bowl. Then you get to pick the sides, the proteins, the mix-ins, and finally the sauces. I can be indecisive at times, especially when trying new places and hate to decide so I asked for all the help I can get throughout the process. The owners and staff are unbelievably nice and patient, eager to assist and explain the ingredients, flavors, and offer their suggestions. In the end, I ordered 2 salad bowls with 3 proteins each (size large $16.99/ea), and 1 kid's bowl ($9.99/ea) that has a protein, a mix-in, a side and 2 gyozas. We did get the surprise complimentary miso soup but I am not sure how long this will last, don't go expecting it but be glad when it happens, woohoo! The food was freshly prepared and I feel good eating it, it's not cheap (my total came out to $48 or so) but it does make my body happy. I'll try to support when I can. Oh and they are conscious when packing the food, trying to separate the cold and the hot, etc. I hope they do well at this location!

This IS NOT real Poke. I can't even believe they serve meat that looks like this at a restaurant with Poke in the name. Rather than quality chunks of tuna and salmon like every single other Poke restaurant serves - they serve ground up fish that's most likely from a food service packet like tuna you get from the grocery store. The sticker they put on the food says "fresh" but this is the FARTHEST from it. Spend your hard earned money at ANY of the other amazing Poke places in the Austin area.

staff was wonderful and food was very fresh and tasty ! my favorite is a white rice bowl with salmon and tuna, green onions, seaweed, crispy garlic and ponzu sauce.

They're a solid pick if you're way out west! It's easy to order and located in a grocery parking lot type space

The spicy tuna looks like it was made with canned tuna. I wish I could post a photo. It's a pale, pink gelatinous mess and tastes terrible.

Let's get this straight: I absolutely love all things sushi & poke. When it comes to marinated fish…read moreatop rice, greens, and other accoutrements, I'd like to think I've sampled a hallowed range of poke in my time. From the original Sushirrito in San Francisco, to Foodland's poke fare in the islands of Hawaii - I've been there and done all the things. So I'd like to think I know what good poke tastes like: fish tasty enough to eat on its own, sauce that complements rather than overpowers, and just the right amount and flavor of toppings to bring a unique twist to each bowl. One can get a little nerdy about raw fish and I hope to submit my master's thesis one day. Customization is an integral part of the poke experience, and who am I to tell you what to order. Some people don't even put any sauce on their raw fish - and like pope Francis said "who am I to judge that person?" But I simply could not, in good conscience, leave without suggesting this absolute banger, slap my knee, mmh mmh mmmmh, finger lickin good, ask the host for the recipe, delicious poke burrito. It's seriously the best poke item I have eaten in I can't even remember how long. Regular pokerrito Hot Cheetos seaweed wrap Classic ahi tuna + salmon Sweet ginger sauce Edamame, red cabbage, half portion of seaweed salad, mango Drizzle of wasabi Aioli Furikake, tempura crisps 5/5 I'd go out of my way to visit this establishment again

Poke (pronounced poh kay) is a traditional Hawaiian dish made with cubed raw fish, usually tuna or salmon, served over rice or greens and topped with sauces and fresh mixed ingredients. The word poke means to cut or to slice in Hawaiian, which describes how the fish is prepared. At Poke House, the build your own bowl format allows customers to fully customize their meal. You choose a base such as white rice, brown rice, salad greens, or a mixed combination, then add proteins like ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp, or tofu, followed by sauces and toppings such as seaweed salad, avocado, edamame, sesame seeds, and spicy mayo. This customization makes poke approachable for new and experienced poke connoisseurs. Poke House Austin's strengths are its freshness and quality. The restaurant has high quality fish with generous portions. For new poke fans, salmon is always a good starter for new poke fans. The atmosphere is casual and laid-back, making it pleasant to linger. Poke House Austin was a great place to try poke or enjoy it on a regular basis.

They were about to close, so I didn't get to get anything to eat BUT I can't wait to go back and eat there. ALL my friends love it and eat there A LOT. Oh, and the claw machines? With licensed characters, like Pokémon and Bluey, hello kitty... nice stuffed animals. So you think it would be impossible to win... YALL. I. WON. 5. TIMES! My day was not the best before I stumbled into this place, lookin for a win. And win I did! While I was playing, I introduced myself to the person working inside, Gia, who was so so incredibly welcoming and just seems like a genuinely kind and caring person -- she was so happy for me that I won so many! Hot tip: you can use your credit card at the machine so you don't even have to have a spare change. And If you're even remotely good at claw machine/crane prize games you are a high likelihood of winning something here. They're not all stuck down there or rigged at all. And that's the way it SHOULD be! Highly recommend! Go to try it out!

The tuna was really tough and I ended up throwing most of it away because of the texture. (It took me several minutes of aggressive chewing to get through each bite). The shrimp was ok. I ordered it spicy and it was a little too spicy for my liking (and I love spice). When I am panting like a dog, it's a problem lol. I wish more sauce was added as well (at least include a soy sauce). I didn't receive any silverware with my meal as well. Thankfully I had a spare set of utensils in office.

Poke House is a really good "go to" for a great poke bowl…read more First, the staff is always patient and really helpful! That is important when there are so many options to choose from. Patrons are making a ton of choices from all of the great options and, it can be time consuming. Today, I stopped by to pick up 2 bowls. Each had VERY different ingredients and sauces. The employee was patient and very accommodating. I was reading, off my phone, the options that my sister chose. Then, giving the options that I chose for the second bowl. He didn't skip a beat. Even more frustrating for him, I think, was asking for all of the sauces on the side. He didn't seem to mind. He graciously put all of the sauces in little cups. He also labeled them with a Sharpie. Nice touch! Before I move on with the review, I'd like to offer a suggestion for the side sauces. If you are taking your order to go, the sauce containers will ultimately tip over in the bag, on the way home. Although the containers are of good quality, the sauce often leaks out. Perhaps adding a quick wrap of Saran Wrap (or the like), would aid in keeping the multiple sauce containers from tipping over in the bag, on the way home. The fish has always tasted fresh! Not once have I eaten here and complained about the quality! Sometimes we don't want to go to a sushi restaurant to get good raw fish. It's also hard to trust a poke restaurant in a strip mall. Trust me on this, Poke House does the job! I've been to this location at least a dozen times. Not once, was I disappointed in the quality and service. I'm so glad that this place is so close to me! Job well done! When you get that tip option on the screen, do what you see fit. Please consider the patience and kindness of the person building your lunch or dinner.

I think the pricing is reasonable for the quality of ingredients and portion size. Veggie bowl: $9.99 Small (1 scoop of protein): $12.49 Regular (2 scoops of protein): $14.99 Large (3 scoops of protein): $17.49 ORDERING - Place an order online for pick up or walk up to the counter to build your own bowl. You choose a base (white rice, brown rice, salad, half and half, seaweed wrap, or hot Cheetos wrap), pick a protein (number of scoops determines the size), choose a sauce, add as many mix-ins as you want, and then add toppings. PROTEINS - Choices include classic ahi tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp, tofu, and the weekly special. All of the proteins we tried were fresh and the scoops are about 2 ounces each. SAUCES - Choices include house, spicy house, Korean chili, soy ponzu, garlic miso, sweet ginger, sesame shoyu, and citrus. Descriptions and nutrition information for each can be found on their website. MIX-INS - Choices include corn, cilantro, crab, cucumber, edamame, jalapeños, onion, pineapple, red cabbage, scallions, and seaweed salad. Avocado is an extra $1.50 but you can choose any or all of the others listed included with the price of your bowl. TOPPINGS - Choices include chili flakes, furikake, garlic crisps, ginger, onion flakes, sesame seeds, shredded nori, tempura crisps, spicy mayo, wasabi aioli, and wasabi. You can choose any or all of the toppings included with the price of your bowl. I absolutely LOVE how customizable the bowls are! A lot of poke restaurants limit the number of toppings or charge extra for a majority of the items but this was pretty much all-inclusive. I was able to make my perfect bowl for one set price and left feeling full and satisfied! I randomly stopped here for dinner after searching on the map for a healthy and quick dinner option but it's now one of my favorite places! It can be hard to find nutrition information for a lot of restaurants so I absolutely love that they have it available online. If you love poke, it doesn't get much better than Poke House! Highly recommend!
