Don't let the outside esthetic fool you this is a solid place for poke. Once inside you'll find ordering stations and you can also order with a person. It's well kept with cute high tables and unique paintings. The bowls are large and match the cost. The first time they were very generous with the toppings and proteins. The second time around there was less of protein and some toppings were scarce. But both times the bowls were flavorful and I highly recommend that you try the noodles.
It was my first time here, and I'm so glad I stopped by! The new owner (she's Vietnamese) was incredibly sweet and welcoming. She even mentioned inviting me back when she gets fresh eggs from her chicken farm. I got the tofu poke bowl, which was super fresh and packed to the rim. The tea was delicious too, with a subtle hint of kumquat that made it extra refreshing (she doesn't always add kumquat). You can tell the new owner really cares about her food and customers. I'll definitely be coming back!
TLDR: Sweetest owners who truly care, though the menu is limited. Service: Epic Poke is a charming mom-and-pop spot with unique hours and plenty of heart. You can order via touchscreen or directly from the owners, who are always gentle and kind. Once, I arrived for a late lunch only to find the shop closed, but an owner promptly came to the door, took our order, and in return, asked if we could take our meal to-go. On another visit, we brought our two huskies to the small patio, and the owners eagerly asked if they could have some human food. Moments later, our huskies were enjoying a meal alongside us. Food: You'll find Korean influences in Epic Poke's cuisine, such as their signature purple rice and sauces. While the options are limited (few additions/toppings, no brown rice), the owners' genuine care makes all the difference.
Updating my review on this place. This was a *solid* 5 stars for years. My husband and I have been coming since it opened and their quality and portion size was unmatched. Sure it was a little pricey but well worth it. The last two times we've visited (including tonight) we've gotten the smallest portions of fish. The first time it happened, I thought it could be a one-off. However, this time confirms they have heavily reduced portion sizes without reducing the price. The picture I attached has a comparison of the bowl I got tonight (top) vs a bowl I got a couple years ago. I'm hoping they can make this right and go back to their original portion sizes, because this really used to be the best poke in Austin and one I recommended to everybody.
Epic Poke is my go-to poke spot. I get the OG bowl which has a combination of tuna and salmon poke, shredded cabbage, sweet corn, green onion, edamame, ginger, sweet potato glass noodles (slurpy and so good!), forbidden rice, drizzled with a medium spicy red sauce, and crunchy onion and furikake topping. So delicious and super filling! There are iPad kiosks to place your order, which you can fully customize. You can also order ahead of time on their website, and your order will be waiting for you on time, as promised!
Food was great. Service was fast. Place was a vibe. Come get lunch and dinner here! Great healthy option!!
5 stars This place has officially ruined all other poke spots for me. I truly come here every Monday! First off, the portion sizes are insanely generous. You get a mountain of fresh fish and toppings, and they never skimp, even during busy hours. I've been here multiple times now and every bowl is as loaded and delicious as the last. The consistency is what really sets them apart, same quality, same care, every single visit. The owners are amazing! super friendly, warm, and clearly passionate about what they do. They greet you with a smile, remember returning customers, and make the whole experience feel personal and welcoming. You can tell this isn't just a business to them, it's something they genuinely care about. Toppings are always fresh, the fish is high quality, and everything is perfectly balanced. Whether you're building your own bowl or picking one of their signature creations, you can't go wrong. Epic Poke lives up to its name. It's my go-to lunch spot now, and honestly, it deserves all the love and more
Consistently my favorite poke in the city! Ingredients are so fresh, fish is wild caught, and I love the Korean twist! I always get the Korean chili sauce & sweet potato noodles. We easily spend $45 on just two bowls... buuut it is the best there is in Austin
A friend recommended Epic Poke to me, and as a loyal poke enthusiast, I knew I had to give it a try! I came by on a Friday at noon and there was no line. I placed my order on one of the tablets and watched them make my bowl to order and with care. Service was quick, easy, simple, and the women working behind the counter were very kind. Overall, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, crisp, bright, and flavorful. I love that glass noodles are an option - you don't get those at most poke places! It was a bit on the pricier end (starts at $17.95, and some toppings are extra), but the portion is quite generous and very filling! All in including tip, I spent $25. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, ample parking in the shopping center/office building area. - Online orders? Yes, you can order ahead online. - Vegetarian options? Yes, tofu or no protein options are available. - Indoor seating? Yes, the space is larger than it looks from the outside and has plenty of indoor seating! FOOD RATING: I ordered a build your own bowl with rice and glass noodles as my base, almost all of the veggie options, salmon and tuna, crab salad (extra $), all of the toppings, and Korean chili sauce and ponzu sauce. I added my own avocado at home! Overall, it was a heavy bowl stuffed with colorful, fresh veggies and nice, meaty chunks of fish. Great flavor from the sauces and a fair portion of protein. Worth trying if you're a poke enthusiast!
When I moved to Austin, Epic Poke was one of the first places I had wanted to go to grab a bite to eat. But it was a Sunday, so they were closed. But then, later on in the week, I was able to order one of their poke bowls through their website. Since then, I've had the opportunity to eat here and introduce others to this establishment countless times. Their menu has changed over time, but they have stayed very consistent with their ingredients and preparation. For protein, they offer tuna and salmon, chicken and shrimp, tofu, and recently, unagi. Other than protein, each bowl comes with a healthy serving of a variety of colorful veggies and crunchy bits, glass noodles, and rice. You can also opt to add additional toppings or extra protein. The bowls have some weight to them and are filling. The owners are friendly enough to recognize you and learn your name if you come here enough. The seating area for eating in is quite cozy. A large mural of Austin adorns one of the walls, and potted plants hang out by the windows. If you're looking at this place solely for poke, their rendition of poke might not be anything particularly special compared to places specializing in creating different flavor variants of poke. But overall, the consistency in their combination of preparation of ingredients and the care used to construct their bowls, makes this place a solid option for a satisfying meal.
I definitely enjoyed my bowl more the second time. Perhaps because I just had them load up on everything or because I did it as a Togo. I enjoyed the rice as well. Everything else was very fresh and packaged with care.
If you are from California like me, this is just okay poke. It's not bad, but nothing to rave about in my opinion. I was visiting Austin on a work trip, was trying to keep it light, and this was a quick drive from the office. The fish was okay (I wish there was more), the sauces were okay (I should have gotten extra), and the rice was not sushi rice? Interesting. It was good/okay. So that's why I gave it 3 stars. I don't really know what else to say about it.
A very quiet and off the road poke house and it is indeed fresh, plentiful, and artistically done. Made by three artists the bowls are ordered from kiosks which is quite easy. Table service in my case but many are to go orders. Not table service in that they bring it to you, but they did me. The salmon and tofu were fresh and the massago was plentiful. That's rare. As I make my rounds across various poke places this is near the top, if not the top for freshness.
Solid poke spot with all of your classic, fresh ingredients. They have the standard bases (rice, salad mix & noodles), plenty of fish options and a plethora of toppings. They also have a few dishes outside of the poke bowls like banh mi, which I'll have to go back and try next time. The staff was friendly and the online ordering was easy to use. read more

Rating: 4.2/5 We came in about half an hour before closing, so the store was empty. They were out of unagi, so we built our own poke bowl ($17.95). The bowl was a generous size, but the portion of fish was noticeably small. For the base, we chose sweet potato noodles and mixed greens--the noodles were well-seasoned and had a great texture. For protein, we picked ahi tuna and salmon, both of which were fresh and tasty. However, the fish-to-toppings ratio felt off, with much more filler than fish. We added all the mix-ins and paid an extra $2.95 for avocado, which was fresh, ripe, and delicious. We also selected all the toppings. For dressing, we went with mango aloha and wasabi mayo--surprisingly, they paired well together. We also paid $2.75 for an extra side of spicy teriyaki dressing, which came in a large container and had a solid kick. Overall, the poke bowl was delicious, but the light hand on the fish made it feel a bit overpriced. read more

I was expecting better quality food before coming here. As a self-proclaimed poke connoisseur myself, this did not meet my standards. The salmon didn't taste very fresh (the shrimp was delicious though). The toppings and sauces weren't very flavorful either. Overall, a decent, uninteresting experience for my taste buds. Service was decent--not much employee interaction and they don't bring the food to you if you dine in either. The best part of the experience was the ambiance. Very peaceful atmosphere! read more

Was on the hunt for a good poke spot since I recently moved to Austin and saw a lot of good reviews about this place. Food was good but a little overpriced in my opinion. I wish they would have added more salmon and sauce to my bowl. Service was great though! read more
The portions are large, and it's worth around $40 for two. They also have a keto bowl too. I love to make my own bowl. I really like all options they have like the jalapeño is nice and spicy and the crispy onion and nori and seaweed just makes everything go well together. I got the salmon and tuna and they were cut into nice cubes size. I do wish they have more fish options but it was delicious. read more
Poke was decent, good but nothing mind-blowing. I may try a different sauce next time as I usually like my sauce a little sweeter. I got the mango aloha and creamy sauce. I thought they could've given more protein considering the dish was $20 after adding tobiko. I enjoyed the noodles. Very sweet people were working there. I do think this place should get more attention. It's a bit of a hole in the wall. It's a low key and casual vibe inside. Plenty of seating. There's parking right outside too. read more

This is by far the best meal I've ever had. I had the Texas Heat bowl and it's the most flavorful and filling bowl I've eaten in my life. The staff are phenomenal and we're eager to help me figure out what I would like (as it's my first time). I can say with certainty that I will be back, this is my new favorite place! read more
Epic poke has some of the best poke I've ever had. I've recommended it to friends who also agree. Ingredients are all super fresh and there are tons of options to pick from. This is not traditional Hawaiian poke, but instead you do get a ton of fun additions including Korean sweet potato noodles which are delicious with poke. The owners are always careful to arrange and package your food so it still looks pretty when you get home. Portions are generous. I feel lucky to live 3 minutes from here :) read more
Quiet compact little spot in an office park with terrific poke and service. Several nice standard combinations or build yor own bowl. They offer chicken and vegan tofu options for those not into raw fish, ad well as some salad and noodle options. I had the Texas Heat which is a great level of spicy, and my partner opted for the Vegan Flow poke is not her thing. Counter service with a nice "nearline" ordering system. Modest selection of beverages including a couple of beers. read more

Really enjoyed epic poke. Was interesting to see them in this executive/office plaza. We arrived at 11:07 and were the first patrons of the day. Everything was freshly put out and organized. My partner and I split a custom bowl. Something that stood out to me is the spicy tuna isn't the grounded/mashed tuna in use to, it's actually ahi cubes with whatever their spicy sauce is. Delish! Also the rice here is purple rice! :) lots of Korean influences, I would say. I can appreciate the ramekin of toppings for hygienic reasons and so the "crispy" items don't get soggy. Overall, our bowl and a Mexican coke was $18 The decor was cute and eccentric. Would def come back! read more

The Texas Heat bowl was everything I wanted in poke - cold things were VERY cold, hot things (rice) were hot, and the detailed way the owner artistically filled my bowl was well above the typical food fare. And THIS is what you are paying for. Was it a little more than I wanted to pay? Yes, for sure! But, was it worth it? Yup! And did I go back the very next day? Yup to that one too! So, if you are a first time poke person, I highly recommend this place! I will say that more nori and more (or some) furikake would be much appreciated, but this is GOOD EATS for sure! read more

Their hours are from Monday- Saturday 11am-2:30pm and 4:30pm-8:30pm. Sunday 2:30pm-4:30pm. You order and pay on the tablet inside located against the wall. Your order will then be sent to the chef to make your order. The tables and chairs inside are bar heights. We ordered 2 Thai teas, Texas Heat poke bowl, and custom poke bow. Both of our poke was good. My custom poke bowl was missing ingredients I added on but the chef was happy to give those missing items after inspecting my poke bowl. Thế ingredients were fresh and it was pretty tasty. The best poke bowl in Austin and definitely live up to its name of Epic Poke! The boba thai tea was very milky and not the best I had. read more
I can see why the majority of people here rates 5 stars. It's absolutely on point! It's now my go-to place for Poke in Austin, and if you name it, I've probably tried it. I've actually never dined in, but always ordered take out, and it's impeccable every time. Fresh, delicious, pretty presentation--the only downside is that it is on the pricey side, but the portions do seem a lot larger than others. Love the potato glass noodles, which you don't really see as often. I've seen her craft the bowl, and she's very meticulous. Due to this, if you order online, make sure to do it around 20-30 minutes in advanced. Also, I don't know what it is with the take out containers, but it matters, and I love this one. If I'm going to eat Poke, hands down, it's going to be Epic Poke :) read more

Epic Poke is by far my favorite poke place in Austin. I have gone during dinner and lunch time and never have trouble snagging a table. Ordering is done on iPads at the front which makes it easy to customize based on dietary restrictions. This is a family owned business and the owners are so nice and answer any questions I have. While a little pricey, the portion sizes are very large and they include sweet potato noodles which is different from the norm but I highly recommend. Everything always tastes fresh and I can tell a lot of care is put into making each bowl. read more
