I CANNOT MAKE THIS UP!! I made sure to #HurryBack and try a try their new menu item the HBC chicken sandwich and I was NOT not disappointed!! I tried to make it home bc I had order a catfish PoBoy for my hubs but there was NO STOPPING ME!! I don't know how Kyle got so lucky to have Chef Chenitha's food truck, but we are blessed! Everything I've eaten here is literally the best version of that dish. Fried catfish? Best ever, seasoned beautifully. Shrimp po-boy? Swoon-worthy. Gumbo? Think I experienced enlightenment. Chef-owner Chenitha Ellis brings a wonderful Cajun dining experience to Texas. I had piggybacked on a talk tread asking who does the best fried Turkey in the area. A Yelp pal (Hi Tish!) pointed me toward Hurryback. Chef Ellis' online reviews backed up what was stated in the talk thread. Our excellent customer service began with our first phone call. Chenitha patiently answered all of our questions and as a bonus offered to meet us to drop off our bird. Our 20lb bird arrived double wrapped in foil and in its own baking pan. How freeking easy is this? For once we could concentrate on sides and cocktails and not worry about an overdone turkey. After about an hour or so of a reheat, our beautifully fried turkey was unveiled to our guests. The skin had a cajun kick to it and the meat was as moist as you would expect from a fried bird. Much to my chagrin, our guests devoured the bird leaving minimal leftovers. This food is for real! I'm writing this as I finish my plate.. that's how good it is. I had the voodoo catfish over dirty rice. The catfish is nice and fresh with a crispy cornmeal breading. The sauce has crawfish, chicken, shrimp, and just the right amount of heat to keep your meal enjoyable. The dirty rice is very well seasoned and nothing is oily or greasy. After going back and forth about hiring a caterer for cocktail hour during our wedding or just making it myself with the help of family, we decided to hire Hurryback catering so we didn't have to stress about getting food served during that time. Unfortunately I wished we would have done it ourselves or hired another catering company. We ordered the pinwheels that clearly were made the night before, the tortillas were extremely soggy and wilted lettuce. We also ordered the chicken skewers that were absolutely awful! They were so dry you couldn't even swallow them. After getting pictures done while the guest were enjoying the appetizers...... SO I THOUGHT THEY WERE, I went to my bridal sweet where there was a tray of pinwheels and chicken skewers. I grabbed me a bite of the pinwheel and was so disgusted at how soggy they were then when I tasted the chicken I was absolutely mortified that this was served to our guest. We had to throw it all out because Even our guest wouldn't eat it and I don't blame them. Luckily we had a phenomenal dinner served to our guest that everyone raved about! I contacted Hurry back catering about our experience and the response I got back was "I appreciate the feedback. I'm so sorry to hear that" You are sorry to hear that? As a small business owner myself I would do whatever I could to make it right with my customer but this company doesn't care about that! We order on their website. We ordered a fried catfish basket, fried shrimp basket and a catfish poboy. The batter on the fried seafood was so salty that we could not eat the food. I don't know if they over-seasoned on that day but it was awful. I like to support local small businesses but that was extremely disappointing! We won't be going back. read more

I just finished eating the most delicious Cajun catfish from Hurry Back Catering Food Truck on Center Street in Kyle, Texas. It had the perfect amount of "heat", and the fish filets were huge. I also ordered french fries, which were cooked to the perfect crispness...crisp on the outside, but soft on the inside. Since the food is cooked at the time the order is received, it would be best to order ahead of time...unless you want to sit in your vehicle until your order is ready, which will then be brought out to you.
