I'm finally writing a review after having recieved the wrong order multiple times. It's always an order that is specifically a substitute for white meat vs dark because I do not eat thigh meat. This last tume we ordered using the app, the 3 piece white meat. The menu specifically say WHITE MEAT. Guess what? Yep, each order had 1 leg, 1 wing, 1 thigh. Popeyes is in a safe location yet good luck getting out of there during a busy time of day. This facility has above average speed to order and the employees are pretty nice. That said I'll be brief as if you've been to Popeyes, outside of service, the food should be about the same. The sweet tea is fairly good and so are the fountain drinks. The popcorn shrimp is an ok meal. They are shrimp somewhere under all the breading, which might I add is extremely spicy, as this is their only option. The biscuit is really good, flaky and soft in the center. The homestyle mac is the best out of the sides by far. Cheesy and the pasta isn't limp at all. The fries I would skip as their usually not fresh out of the fryer but they do have some good seasoning. The red beans and rice is average at best with little seasoning and tasting like mush. The potatoes and Cajun gravy are decent. At least it doesn't taste like it's made from a box and water is added. I wish they had more than one gravy option as I don't really like the flavor. The basic chicken sandwich is BIG and tasty. One can really pick up on the buttermilk in the juicy and plump chicken breast. The mayo is good but sparse as are the pickles. The brioche bun is a good choice as it can hold the whole ensemble together. Overall, it's probably the best chicken sandwich in the fast-food game. As for fried chicken I've only had the thighs. However, those thighs are darn near perfect for fast food. Crispy and not greasy while moist and I've never had it taste as if it had been sitting out for a long time. Overall, this Popeyes is not bad at all and I've never had to wait long for my food. Quality ranges from item to item however since the chicken is the driving force, they're tops in the fast food fried game. As I was shopping at Walmart, I couldn't help but think about eating chicken for dinner. I saw how busy the line was and figured it would be worth it! I had about 6 cars in front of me and decided to wait. The line moved pretty quickly and it was just nice to just stop and relax. We both had the chicken combos and I must say the food was piping hot! Even after I drove 10 minutes to my house, it was still steaming. My sides were Mach and cheese and coke slaw. Tasted fresh and not like it's been sitting out. The sweet tea wasn't very sweet, it tasted like unsweet. I had no issues other then having them run out of sprite. Which was no big deal. On April 27th, I placed a mobile order to pick up in the store. My husband went to pick it up and was told by an employee that they hadn't had any food for the past 25 minutes and to get a refund he would need to contact customer service. No apology or solution was given. The total that had been charged to my card was $70. That night I started the painful process of trying to get a refund and it is May 18 and I still haven't received a refund or any communication. Last time they forgot massive portions of my meal, and one time I was missing one of two of my chicken sandwiches (missing regular but had the plain) and when I messed up saying which one I was missing, the lady said "No, I put that one in there." ?? Placed a mobile order, got to the drive thru when the order said it would be ready. The guy at the window said they were waiting on the boneless wings and asked if we could pull around to the front and they'd bring it out to us. No big deal. We sat there for 25 minutes until I decided to finally go in and see what was going on. The lady who I assume was the manager cause she was in a green shirt saw me standing there and said my order was almost done, just waiting on the sandwiches. She then walked off before I had the chance to tell her that my order had no sandwiches, just boneless wings. I then get more frustrated when a gentleman with an order number 9 comes in and gets his food immediately so I go up to the counter and ask what's going on with order number 7. The same guy that was at the drive thru window that told us to pull around immediately looks at my bag of food that had been sitting there, ready for who knows how long, at least long enough that the ice in both drinks had completely melted, and just gives it to me without saying anything. First off, the service really really sucks! I like eating late and this place is one of few places to eat after 9pm. You can bet that if they send you around the other side after ordering in the drive through, they are gonna screw up your order and or forget about you. Ten minutes passed after I had went around, and I had seen several other customers get their orders. I went inside and the employees were throwing down as if it was a club. A couple of them came up and I said I want a refund.....they asked what I ordered and brought it immediately. Update: It is completely unacceptable to take my order then take my money and trapped me in a long line of seven or eight or nine cars as I wait on my food. If I had known that the second line was twice as long as the first line, I would have never stopped. I'm not sure what's wrong with the Livering food the old way rather than having runners run it out to your car as you sit out in front of the restaurant. Ilove the Spicy Chicken sandwich from here. The only issue with it is that sometimes the chicken slice is too chunky to bite. A few times my sides have been wrong, but they are busy as can be and probably exhausted. I guess we should have checked the lack of stars for this Popeye's before getting caught up in their new chicken sandwich craze. Went through drive-thru and it went fairly quickly but had to repeat our simple order 3 times. 2 classic chicken sandwiches, make one of them plain and one order of Cajun fries. The order was correct but the fries must have been put in the bag first and were then smashed by the two sandwiches. I'm glad these folks aren't baggers at the grocery store because your eggs would be smashed every time. The sandwich was just okay. It was hot and cooked throughout but had a piece of it folded over and the breading was not totally done on the inside of that fold. I came on here to leave my review on Popeyes located on 20259 IH 35 in Kyle Tx. I was not surprised to see that they have such a low rating. lol! Service sucks and the general manager is full of himself. I placed an order to go for a chicken sandwich meal and it was under cooked, the fries were cold and the frozen strawberry lemonade was not even mixed well. You could tell it was lazily made and was not even blended at all. One of the managers was kind enough to give me good customer service and was willing to replace the meal. When I did go back to get my replacement they wouldn't give me the drink I had ordered with the meal. The man who helped me went on to say that he was the GM and that the manager I spoke should have not agreed to do such a thing. He even hesitated to give me the district managers name and number so that I could make a complaint on his treatment towards me. His attitude was horrible and so was his other Hispanic female manger that was there on that day. Her attitude and the way they spoke to me and the manner in how they slammed the drive through window on me was just rude and disrespectful. I mean, I only went to get my replacement and I ended up getting punished for doing so. I mean, if you don't want to give replacement meals for your mess up, get it done right the first time. Lol! I too work in food service as a manager and I would never treat a customer in that manner. The drink in the end was not the issue it was the pack of employees ganging up on me. As a customer I drove up with a smile and just wanted the meal and got treated badly. My Pennie's won't be spent there anymore and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Well my friends, this was an experience. The last time I ate at a Popeye's was probably 20 years ago. However, the Lady, wanted to try their Spicy Chicken Sandwich. I am not a fast food fan, but she has only been out of the house a couple of times since the virus time began, so, OK, we can go there but how about (named several other places to no avail). Off we go. Only a couple of miles where we be located. We arrived at 1158 :-( which meant lunch rush. There was no eating inside of course, but they were doing a caravan of cars in the drive up and pickup. We sat in the drive up, and waited and waited. Vehicle after vehicle would take an eternity making up their mind and making multiple changes. This did have one benefit as by the time they pulled up to the window the orders were almost immediately ready. The Lady had the new Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and I got the same thing but had the combo with coleslaw and a Dr. Pepper. As usual to expect at a drive up, the order was not correct but the friendly lady at the window quickly corrected. Friendly service and fast, 1 star. We drove off and parked to eat (I carry an emergency Menudo and BBQ kit in the car so we had all the utensils we needed. The food was hot. OK, that's looking pretty good. The sandwich is a waste of money. Road Gizzards would have been much better but that is not offered. While spicy, in our eyes it totally missed the mark. Do we plan on another? No. The coleslaw was quite good as was the Dr. Pepper. So one star there and none for the sandwich. We did eat it all as we were hungry, but friend, there are better sandwiches out there. So all in all it was a just an OK experience, but the friendly lady at the window made it from a 2 star to a 3 star experience. Service and staff means so much. Guy comes out 3 times to ask me what my order was. The man looked high! Two people behind me were told to pull forward too and they got their food before me!
