I thought the bread was good and held up well. However, I thought the patty was way too thin and lacked flavor. It was a bit over cooked too. My son had what appeared to be a breakfast/ bacon and egg on it served on Texas toast. He loved his. Husband was encouraged to try their best seller, forgot the name. (It contains kimchi in it.) With it's interesting toppings and 3 inch height buns, he was less than impressed. I love this place! I ordered the K Town burger with a side of string fries and it was extraordinary. The burger was probably one of the best I ever had. The meat was cooked right and the burger was seasoned perfectly. It actually had FLAVOR. The burger consisted of jalapeños, kimchi, and a sriracha mayo flavor with a bun that was fresh and sweet that was blended in perfectly all together. Best kimchi fries in town. Despite there not being waiter service, the staff here is super nice. You go up to the counter, order your food, and they'll bring it to your table. The LA Burger is my go-to order and you can't really go wrong since it's their namesake. Perfect balance of kimchi, beef, cheese, and fried egg. The buns here are the sweet Hawaiian buns and they're pretty big. A truly solid burger. Congrats on your third location, LA Burger. It's a good and bad thing that this location is close to me. I don't want to be obese for eating here so often, but it's nice I don't have to travel far for good burgers. I remembered liking their K-town burger a lot, but this time I was told to get the bulgogi hoagie. It's like a Korean/American version of banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich). I also added an egg and kimchi to my hoagie and it was even more delicious. The meat was scrumptious and juicy. They sure loaded that thing with lots of meat. You can't go wrong with the K-town fries either. Seriously, anything with kimchi is good to me. And it's nice they make the kimchi in house. I guess my only complaint was the super salty Seoul dog (Korean's version of chili dog) that I tried from my friends. The sodium level can be lower by a notch or two. I had consulted the active members of Richardson's yelp talk for suggestions on quiet, calm, and uncrowded places to show off the local food game for dinner on a Friday evening. I received several good suggestions from a number of different yelpers. Keli M., Penny M., and E K. all suggested LA Burger. After my bidness was taken care of on the other side of 75 I set out exploring. I ended up choo-choo-choosing this joint. There was plentiful parking outside in the lot and it wasn't too boisterous as I walked in. As you walk in from the parking lot the bar is immediately to your left. The seating table area and soda fountain are off to your right. This is a place you wait in line then place your order and pay at the till. It's not a gentlesir waiter, white tablecloth, and leather-bound menu type place. I liked that it was casual since I was dressed casually, after having been in a suit all day I was not going to spend more time in a suit than I already had to since 5am. If you did not consult the online menu before arriving, the menu is displayed on the wall behind the register. I went with the namesake LA Burger because "fried egg on my burger? heck no!" said nobody sensible ever. Fried egg on burger is magic. It doesn't matter what kind of burger or any other details. The fried egg alone makes it all magic. I learned all of this and more at Fatburger when I was out in Los Angeles for extended periods of time for work. The fried egg is why Fatburger is my main chick; In N Out is the side chick I don't tell anyone about because loose lips sink ships. I was really jazzed about the Kfries too because it involves everything I like about Korean food and fusion since it involves muh freedom fries too. If you check in with the yelp app on your mobile you get a free soft drink from the soda fountain. To give your main q's some a's: Yes, they have Dr. Pepper. Yes, the fountain works fine and the Dr. Pepper comes out carbonated and as delicious as ever. Yes, the impossible-to-find lids are actually hooked on to the soda fountain on the left side. Burger ($6.99) The LA Burger goes beast mode on what a hamburger is. The wheat bun itself is a stand out star if we begin there. It is slightly sweet, but very chewy and slightly moist so it nearly melts away in your mouth. Inside the bun the magic starts with an angus patty with a slight hint of teriyaki marination. The first layers of toppings are the kimchi and then the jalapenos followed by the standard lettuce and tomato. My only note is I wish it had a lot more jalapenos. This is where the K-Town burger stops and the add-ons that constitute the LA Burger begin. At this point the online menu tells me that I have been on a journey to Koreatown and quelled my asian fever. [pats your knee sympathetically] Hon, I mostly date Asians so I still have that fever but thanks for trying; you tried your best. The LA Burger adds a fried egg and American cheese on top of what you get with the K-Town burger. The fried egg by itself is worth every penny. The kimchi is the strongest flavor on the first bite into the burger so you say something like "Nice!" or "Super sweet!" as the angus patty and the slightly sweet bun all come into focus. The egg comes next, depending on positioning, probably not in the first bite. Once the fried egg is in the mix you need a minute to settle down, because this burger is giving you the vapors. It's that good. Korean fusion at it's best because it involves a fantastic cheeseburger and just makes it so much better with the Korean elements. Kfries ($5.95) Kimchi, cheese, bulgogi, onion, and a secret-ish sauce of sorts. My body is ready. I was unaware of the cilantro garnish (the devil's ditch weed) so I know for next time to tell them no cilantro, and to take the cilantro out back and shoot it. I hate cilantro. But it was easy to knock off the fries. I believe their online site when they say "America's favorite foods, with Seoul" because they took some shoestring freedom fries, slapped some lipstick on that already-pretty-attractive-pig, and now every boy and girl in town wants to take these Kfries to prom. There's nothing not to like about the Kfries, besides I wish they were hotter. Some yelpers (on the biz review page, not my yelp talk crew) complained about them being too hot so even though I am a spicehound I was still expecting to feel a tiny kick, But no, didn't even register as mild. Not a problem. Just was expecting a little heat in there based on some elite yelper reviews. My food was brought out relatively quickly, definitely less than the 10 minutes that the cashier quoted me. I'm of two minds with LA Burger. Mind #1 - this is a 3-star burger joint. The burgers are creative, yes, but the meat is slightly dry. I also found the wheat bun to be slightly sweet, which was weird in combo with the flavorful beef and kimchee sauce. (I ordered the K-Town burger) Mind #2 - this is a 5-star kimchee fries joint. Juicy, flavorful, nice chunks of veg and meat, fries that still were crispy (so not overwhelmed by toppings). If I go back, I'll only order the kimchee fries. It's worth the drive and, in my opinion, they're WAY better than the kimchee fries you get from S'sahm which are tasty but super messy. By the way, this location offers a full bar and they deliver your food to the table. I wish they had forks and knives for you to get on your own- they bring a fork with your food. This was the first LA Burger I ever went to back when I was going to school at UT Dallas. I haven't been back in three or four years and it was just as delicious as I remember! I vividly remembered how great their local draft beer menu was and was happy to say they continue to serve some of my favorite locals like Pegasus City Brewery! My parents and I split two sides, tater tots and string fries, and each got an entree. I live by another location and regularly order the Coreano, which has bulgogi instead of a burger patty, but since I didn't see it on the menu here I went with their Seoul Dog which was just as delicious! It comes with a zinger wasabi sauce, kimchi, bulgogi, and lettuce on top of their hotdog. My mother had the bulgogi beef hoagie and liked it and my dad tried one of their burgers and also enjoyed it! I was expecting pricing to be a bit high considering the gastropub-ish look of the place, but most burgers ranged from $5-$6, and sides are around $2-$3. The burgers were really good! I loved the soft and lightly toasted potato buns. The holy smokes burger was really good with the fried onion rings + BBQ sauce. The kpop burger definitely had a distinct Korean flavor which we loved. The fries and tater tots were freshly fried. We loved the entire meal. To top it off, the staff member who helped us treated us to a small sampling of chocolate milkshake, which was really nice. By far the best Part was the price of the burger and fries, roughly about 6$ for the entire combo aside from the drinks, but a YELP CHECK IN lands you a free drink!! Relatively cheap for the cost of other places like this. The one single con I had for this place was the lack of drink options, sure they had bottled drinks in the fridge, but their fountain drinks were all custom made nothing name brand. Typically I'm not one to rant about a black bean burger but their frijole burger and honestly all of their non- beef burgers are incredible, but the frijole burger specially blew me away.
