Half of a Down on the Farm burger, sweet potato chips and mozzarella sticks.
Sherri H.

Recently (in 2025) the former Haystacks Burger & Barley has changed its name to Little Stack. Same location but totally different (much smaller) menu. Sadly, Little Stack just doesn't stack up! Haystacks is one of my favorite burger places. Apparently this location is the only one to change and thank goodness. I will be frequenting the other Haystacks Burger & Barley locations but no longer need to visit Little Stack. The food was not good. I ordered two of the #1 burgers along with the skinny fries and cheezy balls. My favorite burger was Down on the Farm. I asked if the #1 was the same. The girl taking my order said it was but a bit smaller. Try A LOT smaller! So the burgers shrunk in size for I think what was the previous price. Did they think we wouldn't notice? My son often joins us for lunch on Fridays and Haystacks is one of our and his favorites. After the meal I picked up, he finished eating and said "thanks for the snack!" The fries were so salty, even hubby who loves salt said these are inedible. It's like they were salted and someone else didn't know they were and salted them again. The previous mozzarella sticks were so delicious, these cheezy balls are not. And they revamped the decor but it didn't need to be updated! I loved the previous animals on the wall. This is a case of leaving well enough alone. Bring back the previous decor and menu or I'm afraid this new revamped concept will shut this restaurant down. Maybe since it's located next to Alamo Drafthouse they thought they needed smaller menu items, since moviegoers will want popcorn at the movies. Sadly, for the price and taste of this food I just picked up for lunch on Friday, I won't be back.

Notice: All of these other reviews and pictures are for Haystack, not Little Stack. I contacted Yelp, but they have not fixed it yet. It's not Haystack anymore, but it's still great. I think the fries are better...stringier type, but same quality? The #2 was great, the #3 was very heavy on the mustard, the chicken tenders needed a dip like ranch or BBQ. I forgot to ask for medium rare on the burgers, but they weren't too dry and I am pretty picky. If you are here wondering what happened to Haystack, the other location is on Arapaho just West of Hillcrest. The hours aren't showing on here, but they are open everyday from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm.

This homemade fried cheese never disappoints. There is no other place in DFW that comes close. Other restaurants typically buy a bag of frozen mozzarella sticks, not Haystack. It came out in three minutes. They give out ranch and marina for dipping. I liked the ranch better. I will keep coming here.

Came here for lunch with my coworker and we had a good experience. Parking was easy, ordering quick, and ample amount of seating. I ordered the Down on the Farm turkey burger with no mustard and it was very juicy and tasty! The side of fries I ordered to accompany the burger was crispy and fried perfectly (the sides do come separately). Overall, nice burger experience and I will come back.

Great burger!! I was surprised at the quality. Burger patty tasted delicious. The bun was soft and tasty. It was cooked very well. Excellent

Patty Melt, chipotle mayo on the side

I went yesterday and tried the Patty Melt and half-and-half French fries and fried pickles. It was really good, though a bit expensive. The burger was seasoned well. At the recommendation of the cashier, I went with it cooked medium. I definitely wouldn't do that again as it was a little too raw for my liking, but it was good. The fries were tasty and the fried pickles were my fave! I'm excited to return and try another well-done burger and alllll the fried pickles.

The quality of the meat of the burger appeared to be decent, but the burger was seriously undercooked and heavily salted. It was Salted to the point where it was nearly inedible. The pudding was a fail. The actual pudding itself tasted fine and the bananas were the correct ripeness, but the vanilla wafers were put in at the very end, as opposed to having some time in the pudding to soften up so they were hard. The presentation was unique, but didn't add to the experience or the product. I would have preferred to have less product, but served in a smaller container, that was prepared better. I got the Ruben. For the price there wasn't a lot of meat particular when you compare it to competitors. The quality of the meat was OK but not stunning. It was kind of an also ran. I did like the bread was toasted and the combination Was good but not great. For the price, I was looking for something with a lot more wow. Either flavor or quality. Overall we were just disappointed. The fries and haystack onions were very very salty. The burger was extremely salty. Nothing really stood out as being a reason to come back. We were very much looking forward to this, but I don't think we're going to return.

I enjoy Haystack burgers. They are juicy and delicious. The staff are always nice and friendly. One of the best burgers in DFW.

Club sandwich is great - a lot of food! Chips and queso are a win. Fried pickles are also a good choice for apps.

I ordered the turkey burger along with sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, I was brought regular fries instead, and neither the fries nor the burger really matched my personal taste preferences. That said, food is subjective, and what didn't work for me may be exactly what someone else enjoys. The service was okay overall, and one thing I did appreciate was seeing people genuinely interacting and talking with each other. In a world where everyone is often glued to their phones, it was nice to see a place that seemed to encourage conversation and connection. While my meal wasn't a favorite, I can understand why this place attracts a crowd. I'd still recommend giving it a try and deciding for yourself, especially if you're looking for a casual burger spot with a busy, social atmosphere.

Tonight I went and took my boyfriend for the first time and the girl behind the counter had the worst attitude ever. When asking questions about the menu she was very dry in her reply as if we were bothering her. There was a group that was already seated prior to us coming in. We had about 6 groups come in after and 3 others stayed as we did too. We ordered our food despite the attitude and sat down. Seating is tight but we didn't mind. We paid 3 something for our tea. While filling it up it ran out. When asked if there was more a snarky remark was no I'm not making anymore and proceeded to try and charge 3.60 something for one of the juices to refill. When asked for bbq it was $.50 and ranch was $1.25 for a 2oz cup. The attitude from the lady that is the face when we walk in wasn't needed and I don't think no matter how good the food was that I will be returning nor recommending anymore

Lots of drink options from the standard soft drinks, iced tea, fruit drinks and horchata! The service is fast, friendly and helpful! The burgers and fries are the stars. I had the Big House combo (Massive, 3 patties with American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo and mustard). it includes a drink and fries. Really good fries. There are more reasonable big burgers, but my hunger was unreasonable and I needed a burger that was too big to eat, a knife and fork burger. The flavor was absolutely spot on! I'm guessing each patty was a 1/2 pounder. perfectly caramelized, moist, beefy. Price was VERY reasonable. Yes, no burger was left behind. I did go home and take a long nap afterwards :)

We've been to other RG locations and this was similar to those. It wasn't overly busy, so we were promptly helped. We started with the $6 HH special, Rattlesnake, which is a frozen marg with sangria swirl. It was heavenly! And at $6, sign me up for two! The burgers were as expected, fantastic. The ranch house was impeccable with that bacon/onion jam. Wish I had another. The fries, both sweet potato and regular were quite crispy and seasoned well. There was plenty of seating at the restaurant with long tables, sit down tables, and outdoor seating. After choosing our table we waited 15 minutes before our waitresses showed up. They were very busy with the lunch rush so it took awhile between everything. It even took awhile to get our waters. One waitress was in training and learning from the other. The positive was that the waitresses were friendly throughout. After looking at the menu and waiting another 15 minutes we finally placed our order. We got our appetizer after waiting another 15 minutes. Thankfully that held us over until we got our burgers and fries. We started with tostada chips and queso. It was good and we ate it up pretty quickly. We requested another basket of chips to finish off the queso. To eat with our burgers we ordered hand punched fries and sweet potato fries. The hand cut fries were nice and thick and you could taste the salt. I enjoyed eating them with ketchup. The sweet potato fries were also thick and salty and you could taste the flavor of the potato. No need for ketchup with these fries unless you want it. For my burger I ordered the HL Hunt cooked medium which comes with white cheese, bacon, blackberry compote and mustard. The burger was filling, the cheese was melted but it had little flavor, and the bacon was chewy. The compote was my favorite part of the burger as it added a slightly sweet flavor. I requested a medium cooked burger but it didn't taste that way but it was still good despite that. Overall Rodeo Goat has lots of seating and friendly staff but I would go at an off peak time so that you don't have to wait a long time for everything. The food was still good despite the wait.
