My sister and I went in yesterday for the both of us to get a manicure/pedicure. I have been here before a few times with my partner and the last time had gotten my toe nicked while the tech was clipping them. I wasn't thrilled at the experience but planned to go back cause stuff happens. However my experience yesterday with my sister made me never want to go back... the nail tech working on her was very rude and after prepping my sister's nails to be painted she demanded payment while her toes where still drying and she had just sat down to have her finger nails painted after being instructed to wash her hands for this next step. This was very odd as we had been here before and never paid until the service was complete. The nail tech took 30 minutes longer to finish painting my sister's nails with normal paint than mine took doing several gel coats under the lamp... anyways the pain job was terrible and the lady just got up and stared at us, not finishing her toes or doing any of the finish oils that I got. Then I just heard they called my sister to ask why she never left a tip... what a joke of a salon very rude workers and will not return to this dumpy salon. read more

Five stars for the staff and the warm welcoming. Additionally, the salon is beautiful. My hesitation to give more than a three stars was due to the punctuality of my appointment time and the poor communication between techs. My appointment time was at 11:30am. The nail tech calls me while I'm en route to my appointment to ask if I can come at 12:00pm instead. I let them know I'm already on my way but I can stall with a stop or two. She then says 11:45am would be fine. I arrived to the salon at 11:45am and I am not seen by a tech until 12:30pm... I did not leave the nail salon until 2:45pm. I had a basic gel mani and regular pedi. I have never spent so much time for one appointment and I was quite disappointed and frustrated the appointment took up so much time. As far as the communication, I asked for a matching color and the tech used two different polishes for hands and feet. I wish I could have stopped her and clarified during the appointment but I had been there for so long I didn't want to take the time to have her start the polish process all over again. Very comfortable & clean environment. As soon as you enter, they ask you sanitize your hands. Then they take you to the station and the relaxation begins. I had a lux green tea pedicure and from the soak to the exfoliation to the paraffin bags to the massage, everything was five star. The techs don't do mindless chatter so you can zone out & relax. It's every other station so social distancing is enforced. Techs wear mask & gloves. Clients wear mask as well. I would 100% recommend this place & look forward to returning. I've been here a couple of times. Last time they made me feel rushed by trying to awkwardly do my mani at the same time I was doing my pedi. It was uncomfortable and not relaxing. Tonight, the staff was super rushed & forceful as she did my pedi. Then when she started doing my mani, she was still being rough with the cuticle and trimming. She ended up cutting my thumb! Worse service ever! Had mani & pedi. They don't bother cleaning under the nails or clean up cuticles. I left with cuticles half way cut. Nail polish chipped by the third day. The salon is gorgeous and the music / tv emit relaxing spa type vibes. Now the people may raise your blood pressure. Very pushy and her way or the highway attitude. Customer service is not high priority. If you need gel polish or keep your nails short I say give it a try. If you prefer natural nails or nail art I say keep looking. They use heavy tools and do not cater to vegan polishes. They were unable to execute a simple design and gave me a run around that will make your head spin. Recently moved to the area and was looking for an affordable and quality nail salon and this was it! I got the $25 shellac Gel mani with VAN she was great! Very friendly, easy to talk to and gentle with my nails. She knew what she was doing for sure! They have sanitized metal nail tools so no extra cost for a kit and have hot towel with massage. The interior design is modern and chic. Everything is new. It's a cash only place but they have a ATM with no surcharge!! Nothing bad to say about this place so far! I just had a shellac manicure done the day before I left for a week and a half vacation. It's day 3 on my vacation and the shellac has already started to peel off on the edges. I knew something was wrong when the base coat was splotchy. I should have said something at the time, but I didn't and now I'm stuck with peeling shellac on vacation. If I could give zero stars I would. I'll let my photos do the talking. I'll show what I asked for vs what I got. The tech was extremely frustrated and rude if I asked any questions or tried to have her fix anything... I don't think any of them actually know how to do acrylic nails considering every other person was getting dip or shellac. Just don't even waste your time or money here. If I didn't have a gift card from a friend I would have left with out paying that's how horrible the entire experience was. First time here and it will definitely be the last. An unpleasant experience from start to finish. I asked for a "French manicure" and was told after they had already done the base coat that they couldn't paint the tips of my nails white because they ran out of white dip and gel. They said they had to "save it for customers who booked appointments." It was all very strange and awkard. Once they advised me of the dilemma, I asked for a light pink top coat. They ended up using a clear top coat instead and my nails looked worse than then I walked in an hour earlier. Also, the dip polish started peeling the very next day. It was a complete waste of time and money. The woman next to me had returned to get her acrylic nails repaired as they had started "popping off" just a few days after she had them done. She was told some excuse about a new binder they were trying out. read more

I've been to this place several times for pedicures and they are always reasonable and do a great job. Today I came in to get acrylic nails for the first time (at this salon) and although my nails look good, I'm kind of disappointed. The tech was very rough with my hands making it hard for me to relax them and cut me on two of my fingers by using a drill tool that was NOT made to be used underneath the fingernails. I went with my male friend and right off the bat, the nail technician was telling him that "men don't get color" on their nails. She made several comments about how men don't know how to move their hands around to "help" the technicians like women do, and kept insisting he get clear polish. He wants color, paint his nails whatever color he wants! Then I had to fight with my technician about cutting my nails short like I wanted them. I know that cutting them short makes it harder to polish, but that's also why I'm paying for this service to have the professionals do it. I shouldn't have to argue to have my nails done the way I want. Then they have signs saying you can pay via Venmo, and when you go to pay via Venmo, it's another argument and they start demanding payment be made in cash. I feel like I ended up paying $70 for misshaped nails and a bunch of arguing. Just about as far from relaxing as I can imagine. read more

I will not be back to this location. I went in for a basic manicure and shellac nail removal. I made an appointment and was sat down quickly which was nice but everything went downhill from there. My nail tech removed my shellac nails using an extra acrylic nail and shoved it under the shellac which was kind of painful. She ended up breaking a couple of my natural nails. After the nail removal, my manicure started. Before my tech (Mindy, I believe) applied the polish, she made me pay which I thought was odd because it was 1) in the middle of my manicure and 2) I didn't see any other folks being made to get up and pay for their nails in the middle of the service, rather I saw folks paying before they walked out. After I paid, the tech continually asked me why I didn't want shellac again and I explained why but she kept pushing it. Finally, I had a couple of fresh coats of basic black OPI paint on my natural nails and was sitting to let them dry. The tech inspected my nails and said I could leave now, even though they were still wet! I had a ding in my thumb nail before I even left the building, but I couldn't leave soon enough to be honest. It's now been 4 days since my manicure and several of my nails have broken and the polish is chipping off. I will definitely not be returning and don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

This is such a relaxing spot to come get pedicures. The chairs are absolutely wonderful and brand new. In fact, this entire salon is brand new. I cannot speak as to their manicures since I've only gotten pedicures here, but out of my three visits so far only once has my pedicure not be amazing. The best pedicure was with Leann - she is so sweet and took her time with attention to detail. Nothing drives me crazier than messy service which makes me feel like I could have just painted my own nails. If you're looking for the cheapest possible place, this isn't it. My typical service is the $40 signature pedicure, but I'm looking forward to trying the $50 luxury pedicure some time. So far the signature pedicure has been the most amazing bit of luxury for someone on their feet all day. I like that I can pick between different lotions and oils in it and that the paraffin wax is included. To be completely honest, the best part of coming here is the massages. I don't feel like just another butt in a seat to quickly turn over to rush onto the next person. So far I am very impressed and will happily keep coming back. read more

Immediately I knew she was not experienced in acrylic nails because she was being supervised the entire time by two different nail stylists. I asked for plain French tips and she gave me V shaped French tips that were so crooked I'm surprised neither of the 2 people supervising did not step in. Omg so disappointing. I went just now on Saturday, June 8th for a 2pm appointment. It took 1 hour... 60 minutes!! To remove my old dip powder manicure. Then my nail technician (Kelly) could not do the most simple, "round, short, circle" nail shape. She started filing it in to be narrow and square/oval and I even showed 1-3 pictures on my phone to try and help. I pleaded w another nail tech to please take over and so she did, for the shape, then handed me back to the nail technician before who worked SO slow. It's supposed to be relaxing but it's a Saturday and I can't spend 2 hours doing a basic shellac manicure. They literally look like something I could do at home. I'm so disappointed because I frequently go to their location at Timberland... wow, I will not go back to Cedar Hills.
