Unfortunately they are as bad as the reviews state. I went in last Monday and got a shellac pedicure. One nail started peeling within a couple of days. I had some glue and it was the pinky nail so I just didn't worry about it. This week, all the nails are peeling and rough. Called, told them what happened and because it's been longer than a week there's no refunds, it's over an hour away from me and she told me to come in and she'd fix them. I just happen to be there last week for something else and got them done. $72 with tip for a peeling pedicure. Steel clear. I should've listened to the reviews. You should too. Every time I'm in Oregon, I go to my favorite nail salon, ICON- as always , they're soo friendly and welcoming. The last 2 times I went, Sky did my nails and they turned out AMAZING!!! They have a TON of colors and designs to choose from and many talented nail techs that will help you achieve your dream nails. Lisa and Summer tag teamed my nails and killed it. I came in 20 minutes before closing, skeptical that they could fix a nail from a different salon that broke off, but they told me they could do it and stayed past closing to do so. Avoid this nail salon! My friend and I wanted to get manicures and she recommended this salon because she received an amazing manicure when this place opened a few months ago. I don't know if the two ladies who were doing our nails were distracted or they were on a time crunch because they did an awful job on both of our nails. My cuticle was cut which causes it to bleed in the nail bed. Ouch! I've never had someone make me bleed like that during a manicure before. My friend's manicure looked like she could've done it better herself. Her manicurist didn't buff or remove the old nail glue that was on her nails, didn't shape her nails, and forgot to put on a top coat! Don't let the nice atmosphere fool you! Not a friendly place. My regular nail tech at the salon I normally go to is no longer there so I thought to try a new salon to find my 'forever' tech. Went in on a Groupon and don't plan on returning. The lady that worked on my nails didn't really talk to me as soon as I said I had a Groupon. This isn't an issue for me because I like my quiet time. The problem was her talking in Vietnamese about me & other clients! She didn't realize I understand Vietnamese fluently. I'm really embarrassed for ignorant people like that. She complained to another tech in Vietnamese that I was going to pay an addition $6 charge with a credit card instead of cash & laughed saying I didn't have $6 in cash. I actually replied to her in English I was going to put the tip on there as well. I was planning to tip $10 on a $40 service but tipped $8 instead (really should have done nothing). She started again in Vietnamese to the other tech that I couldn't just make it $10. OMG can u be that stupid?? I will NOT be returning and plan to leave a bad review for this place every where I can leave a review. read more

I have been a long time client of Kim's. I followed her all the way from Tina's Nail Salon even though I live all the way in downtown Portland the drive is rough for me. Anyways, today I had an appointment booked in advance by Kim, with Kim at 3:30pm. She texts me a little after 3:30 saying she's running late so I say that's fine. So I go into the salon & wait 30 minutes. Then at 4pm she comes up to me & says she took clients for another tech ahead of me & I'll have to wait another hour or more. She knows I'm coming all the way from downtown & she is responsible for her appointments. She should've texted me way before to let me know she needed to reschedule or she should've rescheduled the other girls as they aren't her clients and I had an appointment booked. This was so disrespectful. I have been a regular for two years & spend soooo much money & time here but I will not pay for disrespect. I cannot recommend Kim as a nail artist as she's regularly flakey & runs behind. Now knowing she doesn't care about people's time makes it even harder to recommend her. She's talented but so are a lot of other nail techs who won't disrespect clients. read more

I didn't have a great experience here. My feet were done fine but they did try to put shellac on my toes without asking. For my nails, a friend of mine recommended the place and said I should request Summer. When it came time for my nails I did just this and Summer basically told me no. I really wanted something special on my nails for my birthday. I showed a picture of what I was looking for before I sat down. They were not really able to deliver as promised so I was bit confused. Additionally, I am not really happy with my manicure after looking at it for 24 hours. My cuticles still look dry. I don't get my nails done often so it's a special occasion when I go. I just had the BEST pedicure from Anna. Wow, the massage was fantastic. She hit all the pressure points, it was amazing. My toes look pretty too. I also opted for the manicure and again I really loved the massage. I look great, feel great and drank a mimosa while getting that way. This was my first time coming to this salon. I have seen that they take walk-ins, so I decided to go in with my daughter. I wanted to get a full set, and my daughter was to get a manicure. When I first walked in, I noticed there were no prices anywhere. Red flag #1. They took us in and started working on us right away (which I highly appreciated). The staff was nice and friendly, having a pleasant conversation. Until a lady they knew walked in... we will call her Sam. Sam came in like she ran the place naming all the people she knew working there asking how long she had to wait. Sam sits down next to me, talking to another lady, telling her if the lady doing my nails is going to take long, she will leave. They tell her no-no stay. Just a little long, almost done ( she was still putting acrylic powder on my nails, nowhere near done). They wooed her when they told her to sit in the spa chair and offer her water. Then realized they didn't offer anything to us then asked. I asked her if she could file my nails into more of the shape on wanted because she was rushing my nails to get to Sam. She took a deep, exasperated breath and grabbed my hand, and started filing hard. She was painting my nails fast and was being short, a complete 180 from how she was when she first started and when I walked in. I even looked at my daughter to see if she was seeing this. When she was almost done doing my nails, I kept asking her what the total was, but she kept talking to her coworkers. I guess after all the negotiating because they all kept coming up to look to see what we had got done to our nails, they decided to charge me for a manicure for my 12yr daughter who only got polish on her hands, no design, nothing anything extra. JUST POLISH--a whopping $33 just for a manicure. Wow, high way freaking robbery. I knew my full set was going to be expensive. I had no problem with that. That was not my issue. It was the customer service, and I understand you have regular customers and get to know them; however, that doesn't give you the right to treat your first and LAST customers like trash. And to charge 33 for a manicure. NO GEL, nothing special is crazy to me. Thank you for my nails. I will not be back. read more

I keep reading that they over complimentary glasses of wine... Hmm.. That wasn't offered to me. I called a week ago to make an appointment. Showed up and I wasn't on the schedule. Told them more then once that I had a groupon. They lady told me to pick out my colors so I did. I ALWAYS just go Basic with a few layers of glitter polish. I was told that I couldn't do that and to choose a color... When I went to pay they told me I was suppose to get a gel manicure with my groupon not a regular manicure and that they needed to fix my nails. I told them NO because I told them I had a groupon and if I was suppose to get a gel manicure then why did you tell me to get polish? My nails are sloppy on a few fingers. The gel manicure I had done at Icon was the worst I've ever gotten. A gel mani typically lasts 2 weeks on me, sometimes longer... my mani from Icon lasted 6 days before it began peeling off each finger in one piece. Despite telling the nail tech the shape that I like, I left with a different shape and length on each finger; from square round to an almond shape. I have been coming to this place since it opened and never had a problem. However, I sent my sister there and she had the worst service. Her nails were a hot mess. I went back with her to have them fix them and It became a huge issue. They admitted to the nails looking terrible and knew exactly who did them. The manager said she would fix them but keeped ignoring her and others would walk in and she would service them. 2 hours later and us needing to leave...she drimmeled the bumps out and started that she "wasn't going to miss out on (her) money" And that my sister could come back and she would fix them for free. Week and a half later my sister returned and it turned into a s*i* show. She told my sister that she needed to pay her and denied that she would fix the bad nail job and another coworker jumped in yelling about how my sister wanted free polish changes? (It was a French!). All in all, truly disappointing. You just don't treat customers like that. I will never go back. read more

I had a great experience at Icon Nails & Bar! I am back in this area and its exciting that there is such a stylish nail bar close by. I was recommended by a friend to check it out despite all the negative reviews. Kim did my pedicure, taught me the tricks of the great massage chair for shorties, got me a mimosa and did a great Shellac paint job. Summer (the manager) did my acrylic nails. Im only rating a 1 star just to leave a comment. Personally, I don't want to rate any star for the service I received! The Acrylic job from hell began 3 weeks ago. Yes. I went to the same salon 3 times for the one full set I received! So I first off when it comes to getting my nails done paying 40-$50 for someone to do your nails they should look nice at the end, right?! 3 weeks ago I went to this place my sister recommended, I got acrylics because my natural nails are really short right now, but I wanted to treat myself. The woman who did them did a horrible job! They are not all the same length, a bunch of them are crooked, and some corners are square, while some are way too rounded. PLUS they are SUPER thick, and she left a bunch of acrylic gunk under a few nails and the polish she put on was done really sloppily. My ring finger nail is completely crooked and pointing towards my middle finger. I went back 2 days later for them to fix it, and the managee said she would. Since this place is a walk in, she had me waiting for over 2 hours(her words)"i dont want to lose out on money". Finally, after 2 hours, she just filed my nails to reshape them, told me next time come back and shed fix them "no charge". A week later once i had the time to come back for a fix, the manager tried having the same lady, who screwed them up the first time do my nails. I said, no. The manager sat me down and said, ok...you need backfill, it cost 38.00". Not only did she not honor her word of free fixing, i had another horrible experience! Advise to you manager.....we know when you start talking in your language, and everyone looks at you, that youre talking about us!! RUDE!! I just needed to rant, because I tried a few times to tell hER while SHe was doing it I was unhappy and she didn't really listen. I just hate when nail places rush through and don't take the time they should. I work hard for my money, too! I will never go to this salon, again! read more

The prices were good here and I guess that was for a reason. My gel manicure is literally peeling off my nails after only a week and half and the lady who did them was super rough. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! The girls doing the pedicures (including mine) kept talking to each other the ENTIRE time.. And it sounds like they were discussing a heated topic because they couldn't keep quiet. The girl working on me would continuously stop working on my nails to talk to her coworkers! So rude! Then she left me in cold wet towels to take another client! I sat for 15 min. Then when it came time to paint my nails, I'm not exaggerating, she painted them in 30 seconds. Immediately put my flip flops on and walked me to the front to take my money. I work walking distance away from IN&B, and so far I love it! I seem to go every week (my nails and toes are on different service schedules haha!) and the staff is very kind and polite and hospitable.
