A friend and I met up for a 630pm reservation at the Rooftop bar, Poza. Upon arrival, the valet staff was very friendly and helped me with a fashion crisis when my shoe broke! The sole ripped from the bottom and was hanging by a thread. As the valet went to get me duct tape, a woman from the front desk came out to me and strangely gave me a hard time for waiting for the valet? It was such a bizarre encounter. This same person brought my friend and I to the elevator to be brought up to the rooftop bar, and she was rude and stand off-ish (zero sense of humor around my whole talking shoe incident). That should've been my first sign that the service generally was going to be what missed the mark. When we got to the rooftop bar at the time of our reservation, no one was at the bar or the host stand. The view did not disappoint, so there was that! But the service was terrible; with only 4 tables occupied, it took a while for our order to be taken, and the food and cocktails were fine. I had the spicy tacos (fine), my friend the poke bowl (standard) and the beverages, watered down. We had the chocolate mousse dessert and it's the first dessert in my lifetime I couldn't finish - it was inedible. As we were wrapping out, it was very confusing when the waiter asked us to start a tab (we were about to leave) and then my friend had to ask to be closed out. TL;DR if you are a patient person who prefers views over service and settles for fine, overpriced food, then go to Poza for a sunset drink. I'm in love with this beautiful boutique hotel on Burton Way just east of Rexford. It's walking distance into Beverly Hills so you can get your steps in. The room is super spacious and everything is meticulously decorated. There is a rooftop bar where I had drinks with friends earlier. I highly recommend staying here!! read more

This review is for Poza, the poolside rooftop restaurant at the L'Ermitage Beverly Hills Hotel. Unlike the hotel's downstairs restaurant Costa Covo Osteria, Poza does not have its own Yelp lising. I believe Poza is a refurbishment of the space with a new dining concept. The rooftop is separated into a large terrace for private events and the pool deck with Poza adjacent to it. You must walk past the pool to reach the restaurant. The pretty space has lovely views of Century City and Beverly Hills, especially City Hall. The Hollywood sign can be seen from the pool deck. As a hotel guest, I tried lunch here one day. I was the only guest; I believe evenings and weekends are busier. The menu is small, with international selections. I went Asian and ordered the Poke Bowl and Cali Roll. I also got a spirit-free drink called Love In the Clouds, a delish fuity spritz. The poke bowl was fine, with the usual ingredients. The Cali roll was adequate, the crab was krab (surumi). Despite being the only guest, service was friendly but sparse, exactly like the service at the hotel's ground floor main restaurant, Costa Covo Osteria. Unlike Costa, Poza does not add an automatic 20% gratuity. In good weather, come for the views and decent if unexceptional food. read more

I'm always nervous raving about a place too strongly as I'm worried it will become overrun but... It's worth the risk. This is our first time at this hotel and it won't be our last. Having been patrons of the Peninsula and formerly the Montagewith , with this being a quick trip we thought we would stay closer to our destination and what a great choice. The room are sweet and overly spacious. And the small details are exactly what you look for in a hotel room. A shelf pulls out from the nightstand to rest your phone or water, an array of plugs on the side of the bed stand, the polished chrome Nespresso machine that actually worked and a Bose speaker. Plenty of closet, space and sitting room ...And I am a sucker for our own little mini bar complete with two martini glasses and a shaker. (OK complete transparency... Maybe I have been known to "borrow" them from the downstairs bar at other properties... but no need here.) And of course, the ice bucket was always full. A special shout out to Marvin the late night valet, and Andrei from Switzerland in the restaurant... Great job to both and overall congratulations to the manager Frederic Zemmour on an outstanding property... Definitely our go to hotel from now on when visiting LA. read more

My good friends from out of town were staying at the Viceroy L'Ermitage Beverly Hills which is where Avec Nous is located. Parking is free for restaurant patrons. I Ubered there so you might want to call and see if that includes valet parking. If you do choose to valet park, it's super easy as you pull right up to the front door. Avec Nous has a very pleasant atmosphere. It's quiet, it's peaceful. It's a great place to have a nice quiet dinner and a conversation. The menu was not extensive but it was very easy for all of us to find something we liked on the QR code directed digital menu. I opted for the steak frites. $34. The steak was cooked perfectly, but oddly enough, it lacked flavor. It was still good, but I rarely order a steak that needs additional seasoning. My salt shaker was very busy that night. What a bummer. It came with string fries that were pretty standard and a couple leaves of lettuce aka the petite salad. My friend had the bouillabaisse. $39. She loved it, and the bread that came with it. The highlight of my evening was the Manhattan. Tatum, the bartender made me the best Manhattan I've ever had in my life. No kidding. The hubs and I had a day date in LA to see the Tupac Museum and our first stop was Avec Nous after landing. I loved how super quiet and intimate the restaurant was. There was a lot of street parking at the time, but we lyfted from the airport. Ambiance: Modern elegance in the inside(think velvet seating, gold trimmings, etc.) and super chic patio dining on the outside. I loved how each pato section was divided by greenery for privacy. The services: Ahhmazing. Staff were super friendly and helpful. They were prompt with our champagne and meal orders, and were generally good vibes. After hearing the buzz about their Fall Menu, I just had to stop by. And, the excitement is more than justified. Delish. I loved it all: It's still French, but also international, too. Inspiration abounds, with accents from the Mediterranean, Spain, and Italy. For our Amuse Bouche, there's even a nod to Russia, perhaps, with the Regiis Ova Caviar. A dazzling mouth-dance, it's served on blini with créme fraiche and chive. For an appetizer, the Crispy Pork Jowl (green apple, age, Tuscan white bean) deeply satisfies with a light crunch, then followed by succulent and robust flavors. Having heard whispers about a 'secret menu', I inquired. You may not find the family style Escargot on your printed menu, but if you're at all interested or curious, it's well-worth asking for. Classically French, served with parsley and garlic butter, I found this to be the best Escargot I've enjoyed since a locals' favorite I was introduced to in Paris, years ago. But here in Beverly Hills, Chef Nick leans into the dish with plenty of skill and joy. It's not drowning in butter, and, it's the right amount of chew. The flavors are subtle but magnificent. A wonderfully refreshing entremets followed: Sorbet ! This night was Huckleberry and thyme, and it's kind of amazing. Seems super simple, and it really is unassuming, but it's beautiful and delicious. Followed this with Lobster Ravioli (saffron cream, tarragon, lobster espuma). The pasta is made in-house, which is something new for Avec Nous. It can't be beginner's luck because it was just too good to leave to chance. So delicious, perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful. When Lobster Ravioli really works, like it does here, it's a sheer delight and practically an honor to be in its presence. Yum. For dessert, you cannot go wrong with the pot de créme. Creamy goodness, just sweet enough, it's adorned with a fun, pressed blood orange circle and thyme. It's creative, yet comforting and delicious. Great wine selection - we had both French and Californian. This is such a stunning contemporary take on classic French bistro tucked away inside the swanky Viceroy L'Ermitage Beverly Hills. Before I go and rave about food, I want to take a minute to describe the upscale Riviera feel as you enter. The décor beams with glossy touches of bright circular ceiling lights, intimate setting with acute attention to detail and talk about cushy plus seats while dining? Gentleman, take your wife/girlfriends here because you will be sure to impress! To start things off, their regiis ova caviar was so decadent. That crème fraiche took away from the salty caviar taste which blended so well together. This was my top favorite dish. I tried caviar before and to me, it just tasted salty, fishy and no different than just regular roe I eat on sushi rolls. But, THIS, is different. Trust me! Lobster ravioli is another hot dish that I recommend ordering. That saffron cream was so light, perfectly prepped ravioli skin allowed the lobster to literally burst in your mouth. And lastly, for dessert you can get Sorbet (Huckleberry infused with Thyme) or their Pot de Creame (Blood Orange w/Thyme). Both were refreshing and light but if I had to choose between the two, go with their Blood Orange/Thyme cream pot. It's different and presentation is so beautiful too. Avec Nous is the French restaurant inside L'Hermitage Hotel which is part of the Viceroy Group on Burton Way in Beverly Hills. Avec Nous translated is 'with us.' This restaurant has been at this location for a couple of years. Previously there have been other restaurants and more recently the bar lounge, which I really enjoyed and miss. I frequented the bar lounge and conducted business and social meetings. And with Avec Nous's mostly French cuisine, I've continued conducting meetings, in this modern and elegant dining room. After several dining experiences here, I've noticed the menu has evolved, offering less French selections and more Mediterranean inspired offerings. Sadly, the Mediterranean selections had always been a major fail. Their forté is French and they do that well and should stick to it. The hostesses, waiters and servers have been very professional and attentive in all the times I've been here. But last week while having a late lunch, and not haven concluded my entree or my French martini, a staffer decides to sweep in the dining room au was presently dining in. She was about 20 feet away and she can clearly see I was still dining, and she began sweeping the floor. I signaled another staffer and told him I was not comfortable with the sweeping while I was dining, and he understood and walked over to instruct the sweeper to stop. She listened but undermined him and continued to sweep, with total disregard to me, the diner. At that point, my meal and drinks no longer appealed to me, and couldn't continue. When my waiter, came by to check, I asked to speak to the manager. The quasi minion of a manager came to meet me and agreed with my displeasure. I vocalized how unprofessional the sweeper was and whether she had common sense, because obviously she didn't, despite being instructed to stop. My video proved her 'in action sweeping' as I dined. The manager was apologetic and promised it would never happen and invited me to return. At that point, I had no interest. I like the restaurant, the diminishing french food selections, the nice staff, but that evil sweeper had to go. I'm not a fan of breathing dust as I dined on escargot, pâté, or sole almondine....no thank you, I Like dining dust free! The restaurant and hotel always makes an effort to be upscale, they are so friendly and accommodating to me and Fendi. A fresh bowl of water and large cushion doggy bed for Fendi when we visit always. The dining room is elegantly appointed with nice glassware, and rose gold plated table settings, is always a nice touch. Would like for the menu to offer more French items during lunch and not just for dinner. Because I live and work in Beverly Hills and this restaurant is within walking distance from the Beverly Hills courthouse, it is convenient for me to pop in here, so I will return and recommend this restaurant. read more

I didn't think it was worth the price but the ambience is what you probably pay for. The outdoor patio is cute, the indoor was also very nice and had a long bar. I am not even sure where to start, because my experience here was so amazing that it is hard to pinpoint what made it that way. Let's go with the food. I absolutely adore the presentation of every dish. The oysters are fabulous. The beet and goat cheese salad is light and airy, and is much better with mixed greens than the frisee it originally is served on. Their duck is phenomenal, and this was my first time ever trying it. I would re-order it again in a heartbeat. The lobster is such a decadent, but beautifully balanced dish. For dessert, I would recommend the chocolate mousse and apple tart. Cocktails here are made with fresh ingredients and this really makes all the difference. There is a lot of thought and effort that goes into each drink. Lastly, because I had to save the best for last-Amanda! She's amazing. I feel like I'm having a visit with a treasured friend. She is such a gem. Very knowledgeable and friendly. This restaurant (tucked inside the Viceroy L'Ermitage) has the perfect vibe and ambiance. I got the chance to dine here on a weeknight and also got to visit the hotel's rooftop, which offers a nice view of the city. Dinner started off with regiis ova caviar, which consisted of one small bite packed with a burst of flavor! Next was the crispy pork jowl, which was probably my favorite dish of the night. The pork jowl was crisp and fatty, and had a perfect pairing of the crispy sage and Tuscan white bean puree. The escargot (off their secret menu) was served family style. I've never had escargot this tender and rich but not overly heavy. Before the entree, we were served a huckleberry + thyme sorbet. It was the perfect palate cleanser and I liked how forward the flavors were. We had the lobster ravioli as the entree. They started making all their pasta in house, and you could tell how fresh it tasted! There was a good amount of lobster filling in the ravioli. We ended dinner with a blood orange + thyme pot de creme, which was light but creamy. Service was excellent and the staff checked on us often. I believe the restaurant offers complimentary valet through the hotel, but there was plenty of street parking nearby. I had a great dining experience here and would love to go back. Avec Nous is such a hidden gem. There is a high likelihood you've driven past it multiple times without realizing it. It's tucked away in the Viceroy L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills, which itself, looks discreet from street view. This restaurant epitomizes LA dining: a trendy ambiance, soft lighting, intimate seating, locally sourced seasonal ingredients, modern interpretations of classic dishes and a wine list that is to die for. The menu features many French classics like steak frites, coq a vin, loup de mer, parpadelle and or course, escargot. I love that they offer seasonal dishes in addition to the main menu that allow the chef to be creative with fresh ingredients. They also have a cocktail hour and a beautiful bar. I'd highly recommend coming here for a meal, but if time (or budget) doesn't allow for that, then at least a drink and charcuterie board at the bar. This is the LA scene at it's finest. They offer valet though you may be able to snag street parking a short walk away. read more

A bit hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for, but once you pass Maple (or Foothill, depending on the direction you're coming from), slow down and look for the valet stand, and you're there. Unless you want to hunt down some rather rare street parking. I didn't have too much trouble on a Sunday afternoon during the brunch hour. Once inside, you are in a veritable rich-folk paradise; pardon my ghetto roots. Plush couches, swanky decor, gorgeous, breezy patio, and elevated menu with a price to match. $18 cocktails, $22 burgers, and $34 steak frites aside, (just warning you about those prices so you come prepared), the food is pretty darn amazing, if a bit overpriced. But hey! It's Beverly Hills. They have a plentiful selection of cocktails, wines, beer, and straight spirits by the glass or the bottle, depending on the depth of your pocketbook. While a bit pricier than other such establishments, I would recommend starting with either one of their interesting cocktails or a glass of wine, as you won't often find such quality outside of a place like this. I started with the French Can Can, a sweet, smooth, and delicious effervescent cocktail made with Nolet Gin, Peach Vanilla Syrup, Lychee, and St. Germain Charcoal Foam. If you're looking for something more adventurous, and happen to have had a rough night, I would go with their Morning After cocktail made with Bacon-infused Woodinville Bourbon, Blueberry Jam, Egg Yolk, Cream, Cinnamon, and Brioche Crumbs. Yes, it is one crazy cocktail, but great if you need something other than coffee to wake you up and get rid of the sluggishness. The food menu offers a great variety of options to please every palate; I dare say, there is nothing boring on this menu. Flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, fish, and yes, fancy desserts. Since I came for dineLA to get more bang for my buck, my choices were more limited, but the options offered are also on their menu. I started my meal with the Bianca Flatbread- which smells like BO from someone who's been working in the sun too long. But if you're a cheese-lover, you might like it. I think mine had been sitting out a little longer than necessary because the cheese was harder than melty when it got to my table. For my entree, I ordered the Croque Monsieur, one of my favorite French breakfast foods. It's basically a piece of toast with melted cheese, ham, beschamel sauce, and if you want to turn it into a Croque Madame, you can add an egg for $4. Unlike some Croque Monsieurs, this one had some heft to it, so I'll forgive them for it being on the colder side of lukewarm. It also comes with a side of crispy fries, which I thought had the perfect amount of crisp to them. Dessert consisted of beignets, which is a simple fried dough dusted with powdered sugar. These come with three dipping sauces: caramel, strawberry, and chocolate. Tiny though they are, after a meal like the one you're likely to have, no more is necessary. The chocolate one had a saltiness I really liked. The damage for my meal came out to about $50, including tip, but that's only because I was here during dineLA, which cuts the brunch items down to $25 before tax and tip. You can probably imagine how much more it would have been, otherwise. One downside I would say this place has is the wait times for your food. I waited quite a while for every part of my meal, and none of it came out tasting fresh. Considering there was only one other group in the restaurant besides me, I don't think it was that they were understaffed. read more

If you're looking for an authentic french experience in Los Angeles, this could be a great place to start. Be prepared because the waiter even adopted the French attitude of service. Not that he was rude, but rather not the most expressive or friendly as I'm accustomed to in the US. Don't let that deter you though. It added to the authenticity of the meal, and the food was superb. Because I'm a little piggy, we were able to taste LOTS of dishes on the menu. Since you're at a French spot I suggest you try the escargot and foie gras! If that sounds scary to you, call me and I'll hold your hand. This place is great! We came here on a Saturday night and parking was pretty easy to find on burton (if it wasn't there js valet too) and all of the staff were extremely friendly and warm. From the doorman to the front desk to our waiter, we were made to feel very welcome in the beautiful space that is the hotel l'ermitage and the fun vibe of Avec Nous. We got a great table in front of the cozy fireplace and enjoyed two delicious cocktails along with fresh oysters and the perfectly dressed and assorted market salad. A bottle of crisp Pinot Grigio accompanied our chicken and salmon dishes, both cooked perfectly with delicious flavorful sauces. To top it off we order the apple tart - perfectly warm and crispy with thin layers of yummy apples under fresh whipped cream. A plus night all around! read more

As I parked my car in front of the valet .. they don't bother to approach for even help us out. I have to get out of my own car and place my car keys in the valet guys hand! (Seriously?? in BHILL???)O,o Plus it was raining ... but you have umbrellas besides you~~ hello?? (Forgive me if my ride isn't a top notch or a fancy one) Upon arrival we were seated, and with only 4 tables filled I thought it would be a cozy nice time for the family to spend.,... not really. We ordered the lunch menu from DineLA and ordered additional cocktails from their bar menu. Believe it or not the foods came out first then the drinks! - Seriousllyy???? Also, the seats at the table are real low... they sink in when you sit so the table edge pretty much hits your chest...LOL I'm sorry but the DineLA lunch menu was not what I expected to be. This was my husband and I first time here and it was very bad for us. We came here on a double date because our friends recommended this place for Dinela since they been here for brunch and they had a great experience. Upon arrival, we were seated outside. Alright, the weather was nice to sit outside so it didn't bother us. They had one of the heat lamps on for us. We asked our server (forgot her name now) to turn on the fireplace. But that took forever because they had to find the person to turn it on. Our girl server was friendly though. BUT I'm not sure what was wrong that night with the service being really really slow and she forgot things. She took our drink orders, came back with only the alcoholic drinks for our friends, no water for my husband and I when we ordered water. Then says, "I'm ready to take your orders." My other friend told her we have even got our waters yet, then she goes, oh yes I'm sorry, then goes and grabs our water. That was one star off already and on top of that we have been sitting for 1 hour and a half into our meal and we have not gotten our main dish. The service was so horrible that night for us. The restaurant was not full! It was empty! Service was very very slow. Therefore, my friend went to complain to the manager. Then came our server who asked what has happened. We explained to her that we have been here for so long and have not got our food yet. She apologizes and says it was due to dinela so it is a little slow. BUT turns out she forgot to put in our order. Our server lied to us. The manager later came out and apologized to us and gave us discount off our bill and took out the drinks. Another thing, they had to move us back inside when desserts came around because due to Beverly Hill rules, they had to close up the outside after 10pm (something like that or they will get a fine). Well, not our fault that they took forever on the food. Just anyways, it was overall a very bad experience for us. Will not be coming back to this place again. Review from a French person. Amazing place ! I'm French born and raised, been in LA for over 4 years and to me the cuisine was on top of it ! I have read some of the reviews and thought it was pretty ridiculous. Yes service is a bit slow but if you have take the time to ask the waitresses they would have told you that you have only 2 amazing French chefs cooking for you that takes importance in their work. Food quality and presentation was really amazing and I have been in 5* hotels and 3* Michelin restaurants all over. So if you are someone that likes to complain about a sauce dish still on the table you might find something wrong about this place. Avec Nous is located on the first floor (just left of the check in desk) of the The Viceroy L'Ermitage and is as fancy as it sounds. It is upscale, charming, and sophisticated without being stuffy. We made reservations for noon on a Sunday, and were the only ones in the entire restaurant. This meant getting our pick of tables, so we decided to sit by the fireplace, which we asked them to turn on. It was cozy despite being empty. The staff were very attentive (to be expected given we were the only ones there) and friendly, not at all pretentious. Breakfast is served until noon, at which time they start serving from the lunch menu, even on weekends. Oddly, the menu was quite different than the one online. I opted for the grilled chicken sandwich (served with pesto and arugula) and truffle fries. The bun was coated with a light amount of pesto, and the chicken thin and grilled just right. I wasn't blown away by the sandwich, but was perfectly satisfied. Right now this is a bit of a hidden gem. The ambiance is great, if you aren't looking for a scene or to be seen. It was a perfect spot for my friend and I to catch up and talk for hours without worrying that someone was waiting for our table. It's going to be my new go to spot for breakfast when I don't want to worry about a crowd or waiting (they have a great breakfast menu). read more

3.75 stars. We came here for Christmas Day brunch and had a good enough time. The place was a little less fancy than I had hoped. Due to last-minute plan changes, I was left scrambling around the week before to try and find a nice place for Christmas Day brunch. With a 4-year old to please, I typically favor the hotel brunches as such places usually go all-out during the holidays with decorations and Santa Claus. This year, all of the usual suspects (Hotel Bel-Air, BH Hotel, Four Seasons) were beyond capacity so I decided to take a chance on Avec Nous. I had been here when it was Livello, and though they remodeled the place, it seemed more loungey than a formal restaurant. At the time, too, we were the most over-dressed, with the rest of the patrons looking like hotel guests who were just there to have brunch before they head out for the day. The food is contemporary French, and was good (but not great). Service was excellent though, and our server even took off my glass of wine from the bill (not because of any mistake but just to be nice!). Would maybe go back but for a more casual meal or drinks at the bar. read more

This place was such a great time! It was my mother's first time dining in the famous BH area and loved this pictures on their site. Cool things to note: -Reservations are open table friendly or can call them -Valet is complimentary (please tip though :)) -Ambiance - super cute and bougy - (indoor- so gorgeous and more intimate, outdoor- super cozy! Heaters available everywhere and I was there on a cold day and felt so nice!) -Service - incredible. Felt like I was Beyoncé eating there. -Food- leave the belt for pants at home. The flatbread app was so good (I'm not a fan of tomatoes and I ate all the tomatoes! Who iz i??) the steak frites melts in your mouth like heaven, the wine selection was lit. Rose was my jam! This is going to be my new after work Happy Hour/Dinner Spot. Idk why it took me this long to find this hidden gem. I just came here to meet a friend for drinks but decided to order off the menu in the lounge. I was thinking it was going to be basic bar food but nope! It's a fancy restaurant with totally reasonable prices. The food was incredible and the service was top notch! I usually think hotel food is basic but this place is anything but that! Waaaaayyyyy better than the Four Seasons. Ok let's get the rundown: Cocktails: Try them all! I had 3 craft cocktails and they were very tasty and well crafted! Appetizers: Beet Crudo; Crunchy, light and simple 3 Cheese Flatbread: It's huge. Could be a meal on its own. Can feed 3-4 ppl. It's delicious, eat it when it's still warm. Scallops: Good flavor, there's avocado and pork belly. Scallops were a bit salty but overall good. Roasted Duck with Chard and Mandarin Tender, great flavor. Taste expensive. Get it. Off the menu: Jumbo Shrimp Scampi. If you like that Cajun flavor omg you will love these. Comes with dipping toast. Sooooo delicious. Flavorful and juicy! It's not on the menu but you can ask for these. You're welcome! Dessert: Paris Brest: ok so I thought it meant French Titties but I was wrong. It's a flaky puff pastry filled with light chocolate creme and topped with 24 carat gold flakes. I've never had this before but this is sooo good. Not too sweet and who doesn't like a flaky puff pastry? It Was almost like a mousse inside but lighter in texture . It's so good. I didn't feel heavy after eating it. I keep thinking about it. We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were expecting it to be such a smooth beautiful memorable day. We drove far to have a great meal but it wasn't what we expected. Ambience: The ambience is such a vibe. It's beautiful atmosphere in my opinion. The only reason for the stars. Service: it took approximately 45 mins for our main entree to be served. We told our waiter to cancel it since we were so starving after 30 minutes of waiting but since they said the food was almost ready we decided to wait. By the time we got our food our stomachs. My burger wasn't warm and it didn't taste that good. We ordered dessert but after waiting 20 minutes and still not receiving it we decided to cancel that order. Food: the food was okay, i was expecting more for the price/ location. Presentation of the food is really nice. The cheese Charcuterie was the only food I mainly enjoyed. read more

I took my girlfriend down here on my birthday for a romantic dinner. The front desk and waiters were very polite. The food is amazingly good as expected. It was very well worth every dollar. At the time we went, there were very few people. I really enjoyed the decorations and vibe from the restaurant. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely come back. They follow Covid guidelines very strictly. They will make sure you're comfortable. read more
