I'm a diabetic so I need to take care of my feet and part of that care is regular pedicures. I've been to numerous salons over the years and have found that GLOW BAKERY NAILS (GBN) is by far the best. Not only have they proven to be very caring and gentle with my feet but their salon is very accommodating, clean and their technician's equipment are always sanitary. The salon even has complimentary beverages. There are salons blocks from my home but I would rather travel the 10 miles to have, Fann at GBN take care of my feet. Usually come here for a pedicure and decided to splurge and get a manicure. My original choice was…read moredip powder, somehow the tech convinced me to get acrylic and gel, supposedly it "lasts longer." After the end result I wish I would of stuck to my original choice and just gone with the dip powder. The photos attached to my review are even after he corrected an issue with the chrome. I left and came back and noticed there was an issue with some nails, some had weird dark spots in certain lighting. When I sat in the chair to correct the chrome issue, I informed him the I also thought the nails were too thick. (He knew from the beginning I was not going to add length) he simply replied "your nail is too short." They were the same length when we started... as a nail tech he should of known maybe the acrylic would of been an issue. Mind you, I already mentioned to him I was unhappy about the thickness... to correct the issue what does he do..... add more thickness... another layer of gel polish, clear coat, chrome and then another clear coat. I understand he was working on another client, but if he would of said can you come back later and I'll fix it, I would have. The more I look at this set, the more upsetting it is... $70 wasted... I can't even remember his name. I wish I did.

We had the best time here this morning. We found Doki Doki on Yelp when looking for a nail salon…read morefor my daughter for prom. She looked at some photos and decided she wanted to come here. I called to make an appointment and was able to make one without any issues. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated. We had a bit of a wait because, it was prom. We met our friend from church here as well. My daughter went first since her nails were going to be way more involved. Chloe did her nails and did a fabulous job! They turned out absolutely amazing! They gave me a quote and I approved it, but it ended up being a little bit less. Our friend and I just got the deluxe gel manicures with the sugar scrub, lotion massage and paraffin wax with hot towel treatment. I was in heaven! Mia did my manicure and she was excellent! The place is super cute with pink and floral decor and playing great country music. They accept cards, cash and Zelle. $2 transaction fee for cards. Super easy to tip with Zelle as well. If you pay cash, they have a stamp program to get $20 off after you spend a certain amount and fill the stamp card. We will definitely be back! I think one of those pedicure chairs is calling my name!

**Don't waste your time or your time or money!…read more I booked a pedicure and Gel-X full set nearly a month in advance for a 9:30 a.m. appointment. I specifically requested that my pedicure and nails be done at the same time due to time constraints. When I arrived, they did not have a nail technician available for me or another client who also had an appointment. I had to ask for someone to at least start my pedicure. I was assigned to a new technician who struggled to understand my requests. My feet were not properly scrubbed, both big toes had to be repainted because the polish was uneven, and I had to remind her that my service included a massage. The pedicure alone took about an hour and a half. Once another technician became available, she began my Gel-X set. I showed her a photo of the exact design I wanted and specifically asked for silver gems only. She confirmed she could do the design. After completing the ombré base, which was only average at best, she informed me that the gem pricing would be: * Pointer fingers: $20 ($10 per nail) * Ring fingers: $30 ($15 per nail) * Pinkies: $10 ($5 per nail) Although I was shocked by the pricing, I had already been there for over two hours and felt committed to finishing the set, so I agreed. Only then did she tell me she didn't actually have the gems needed for the design she had already agreed to do. I was told to choose a different gem shape, a different color, or a completely different design. When I explained that I had shown the design beforehand and received confirmation that it could be done, the manager came over and told me the photo wasn't from their salon and that they had supposedly run out of the required gems that morning. At that point, I had been there for over three hours and was left with a mediocre pedicure and incomplete nails. I finally decided to leave. As I was leaving, another customer who had been waiting over 30 minutes for her appointment was told they could only do part of her service and that she would need to come back later. She left as well. My biggest issue isn't that they ran out of supplies. Things happen. The problem is the lack of organization, poor communication, questionable skill level, and refusal to take accountability. Clients should not have to spend hours in a salon only to find out halfway through a service that the technician cannot complete the design they agreed to perform. I won't be returning.

I was more than…read morewilling to pay the prices that were listed, but then they started providing services I didn't ask for and when the bill came, they charged us for little things that added up and it made it worse because I had already paid them a tip when we realized we were being overcharged for extra stuff. I asked for a basic pedicure, and they added extra stuff to take it to the more expensive pedicure. We will never come back and they have lost good customers that pay for good service. Not wanting to be a stereotype because Black people spend our money where we get good service. So they were paid to be forgotten and never recommended again.

Kim did my pedicure and it was extremely sloppy. My cuticles were not cleaned, my toenails were not cut, and the polish application was very poorly done. What upset me most is that the owner clearly knew Kim was not skilled enough to perform a pedicure and did not step in or guide her at all. I'm a cosmetology school graduate, so I completely understand that everyone needs practice. However, Kim is well beyond a "training" stage and should not be providing services without proper skill. She needs to be retrained on basic pedicure fundamentals such as cuticle care, filing, and polish application. It's disappointing that Princess Nails would allow someone to perform pedicures knowing they are not qualified. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

I'm sure it's to save time, but it's truly not worth messing up the structure of the nail. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves... I have a conference next week and I'm very embarrassed about these nails... (yes, they had me pay full price; mani and 2 pedis $108)
