You can count on Doug to be there when the weekend projects go downhill. While doing yard work I somehow broke an old sprinkler valve that was attached to a steel pipe. I quickly had to close the main water line to prevent my yard from flooding. After several attempts to remedy the problem, I decided to call Kuttruff Plumbing. He came over quickly and was able to stop the leak in a matter minutes. Thanks for being there when our pipes need you. Lol! read more

Being a residential real estate broker in the Pasadena area, I come across a lot of plumbers during inspections and remodels. I can confidently say that Doug is by far the best, most reliable plumber I whom with I have worked. We have used him for inspections, repairs, installs, emergencies, and he has always come through. When choosing the vendors we recommend, the most important thing we look for is honesty and integrity. Doug has them both. We have no reservations leaving him alone in a 10 million dollar home knowing that the work will be done professionally and he will leave the job site cleaner than when he arrive. Last week, at my own house, my water heater started to leak, I called Doug and he was able to come on the same day. I told him where the hidden key was, my alarm code and where the water heater was, he called me to tell me the problem and what it would cost. When I arrived home I had a new water heater and Doug was gone. So not only can you trust him, but he also trusts you. It harkens back to the small town days when everyone knew each other and if you forgot your wallet, you could just bring the money in the next time. He knows his craft well, he has never been to an inspection where he has not been able to diagnose the problem and give you an accurate estimate on the spot. I don't think he takes on huge jobs anymore, like entire re-plumbs, but I may be wrong. But for repairs, he even came out on Thanksgiving one year b/c the drain was clogged, and medium sized jobs he is the only one we use. read more

I called him to my house to install a new toilet and to haul away the old one. He quoted me $125. He came over, on time. After he was done he was leaving the old toilet in my backyard. I reminded him that my understanding was that he would take it. He hesitantly took the old toilet away, but charged me $150. Gave him a benefit of the doubt. So I tried him the 2nd time in less than a week b/c my second toilet had a leak. He just tightened the bolts inside the water tank and charged me $125. Maybe I am wrong, but this seems too much for a 15-minute job. I thought I found a reasonable plumber, but maybe not. I will continue looking for a more reasonable plumber. PS: His work was good. read more

I rarely give Yelp reviews anymore, and it's not really like Doug needs yet another glowing review, but I just want to say that he did a terrific job for me with my kitchen plumbing problem and charged me a very reasonable price. This was a stressful situation for me and Doug handled it incredibly well. I can't imagine that anyone would regret hiring him. read more

Yes, I am impressed. My previous plumber retired and moved to the wine country and sold his business to someone that was nowhere near as good. I connected the Doug Kuttruff this morning and he was able to come out and resolve the problem in less than 30 minutes. Forthright, honest and effect. I now have a new "go to" plumber. read more

Doug is a friend from our kids going to school together. That said, I wouldn't write a good recommendation if it wasn't deserved - I'd probably just not say anything... This past Sunday he was walking in the neighborhood with his family and I told him I wanted him to come by because the water pressure in our shower was weak. He suggested my husband clean out the shower head and/or remove the flow restrictor. My husband did as suggested and it's wonderful! I love my shower again! Lots of pressure - thank you Doug for being so honest and saving us money!! read more

Doug Kuttruff came to my home yesterday to fix a leaky tub faucet in my guest bath. He quickly assessed the problem (handles needed new valves) and replaced the valves. Professional, courteous, and fast! Christy Pasadena read more

I had a excellent experience with Doug. He was able to come out to my home in a Pasadena the very same day I called, and took care of upgrading the gas shutoff valves to my appliances with speed and ease. His price was very reasonable and his service was friendly! read more

I called Doug yesterday afternoon over a seemingly broken garbage disposal. He just left this morning after pulling a quarter out...and all's well with the world once more. Thanks Doug for your terrific problem solving skills! read more

I thought we had used this guy before. Now he tells me he doesn't come out to Monterey Park.

I just called Doug, on a whim, after reading these Yelp reviews. So glad I did! He was in the area and he came over immediately to look at my kitchen faucet, which had a drip leak from the spout. He replaced two cartridges, cleaned out my garbage disposal and was super professional and to the point, which is what I like. His rate was very fair and reasonable! I was going to call Mike Diamond - saw the horrible reviews - and googled for a Pasadena plumber. I did the research for you all so if you live in the local area and are in need of an excellent and fair plumber, this is your man! read more

You can't ask for a better plumber. Doug fixed my faucets and shower diverter, and he fixed the adjustable shower head. On top of that, he got my toilet working in top order. I will certainly use him again. Highly recommended. read more

This guy is great. We jammed a bunch of carrot meat from the juicer down the garbage disposal like a bunch of idiots, thus flooding our entire kitchen at 1:00 in the morning. We found him on Yelp, and Kuttruff himself came out within half an hour and started snaking that mofo like nobody's business. He fixed the problem quickly, didn't give us any sh*t for not knowing Garbage Disposal 101. On his way out, he noticed the sink handle for our faucet was the wrong size, went out to his truck and swapped it out for the right one at no extra charge. Now I don't have burn the skin off my hands when I wash the dishes. This guy is cool as sh*t. Very laid back, won't make you feel like a dumbass, totally reasonable prices, highly recommended. read more

Doug came by within an hour of calling him and was very professional. He pointed out what could be wrong and even suggested another service provider that could be better for the type of issue we were facing. Even though he wasn't able to fix the issue, he told me what to do and was very honest and respectful. read more

First off, I have never worked with this company. Today I called to try to schedule an appointment. I'm not sure if this is a handyman or an actual company with multiple staff, but it sounded super casual as there wasn't even a business referenced when he answered. Said he could help if it was late. Then, I kindly informed him I had a smaller crawlspace and if that would be an issue I didn't want to waste the time. He made a comment I didn't understand so I asked him to repeat it...then he hung up. I guess that wasn't going to work for him. Fair enough, but he could have been more courteous. Unprofessional. I'm glad he didn't come out! read more

Found Doug on Yelp for a quick shower fix and he was a gem! I called, thinking since it was NOT an emergency, I would schedule something in the next few days. Now about an hour after I called him, my shower is fixed and working great. Definitely recommend! read more

I called Doug at 930 at night to ask him to cover because of a pipe leak in the basement. He came over in less than ten minutes, told us it was a main sewer line problem, and didn't charge us. I will definitely call him in the future for our plumbing needs. read more

I have positive things to say all around about Doug: he was easy to reach; he was available on a Saturday; he arrived when he promised and after he called to confirm; he had the tools, parts and expertise to quickly repair my 70 year old leaking shower faucer; and he was pleasant and personal throughout. I'll be calling him again. read more

real deal doug. house was leaking from inner walls connection to the water heater. i was in need of quick relief and checked yelp. he didnt have too many reviews, but all good so gave him a call - he picked up. explained the situation and he drove straight there and resolved everything within 45 minutes. you cannot beat this service in this day and age. he is knowledgeable, quick and honest. wish there were more like him. read more

Called him because my kitchen sink was draining outside the house instead of in the main drain/pipe. It was Sunday of a 3 day weekend. He quoted me a fair price, offered to come by right away, which he did, was friendly and professional, did the job quickly. All that in less than 30 mins. I paid the amount quoted over the phone. To summarize my experience: honest, competent, professional, efficient, fair price. I will call him back if I need plumbing services. read more

Once again Doug came to the rescue. Our kitchen sink was not draining and rather than call a plumber I decided to fix it myself, big mistake. Not only could I not clear the clog, but I proceeded to monkey with the pipes and started a leak. I called Doug and he was at my house in 15 minutes. He went right to work and cleared the clog and fixed the leak. He charged a reasonable price and performed excellent work. This is the second time I have used him and he is the best. Great work at a fair price. read more

called 2 times. the guy sounds like he's unhappy about working as a plumber. ask to get a check on my water heater, doesnt give me a time when he can come in just asks what time I'll be home. 3:30pm. I wait for an hour, must have arrived when I was cleaning my garage so I see him get in his van and yell to get his attention and he jets off. try someone else a bit more detailed in their job and less grumpy. read more

There's a reason there are so many 5 star reviews. Doug came out within 20 minutes of calling. He was quick, very knowledgeable, courteous, efficient and fair. Fixed another problem, too. Will definitely recommend and call him again! read more

Doug was great! Called Kuttruff plumbing to fix a clogged kitchen sink/disposal...which he did quickly. While he was at the house, he also took a look at a couple slow drains in the bathrooms and shower and tightened up loose faucets on 4 different sinks! I will definitely call him again if the need arises! read more

Very good plumber. He came promptly, analyzed the work, told me I cold get all the parts for free, left, and came came back after parts came in. He didn't even charge me for the first visit. His work was perfect, professional, and reasonably priced. I will certainly use him again. read more

Fantastic, honest, no nonsense plumber. I'm absolutely using him again. I called 5 top yelp plumbers this morning to fix two shower cartridges. Three got back to me. The first one to come charged $50 for the visit and quoted $700 to fix the two shower cartridges. That sounded too high to me, and the plumber seemed quite unsure of himself. I talked to Mr. Kuttruff and he said it would be $289. He was able to come within a few hours. During the repair, he found I had broken part of the shower handle as well. He had to go get the part and fixed it at no extra charge. I would gladly have paid extra. He saved me over $400. He has my highest recommendation. read more

Great helpful guy, works fast, been keeping our 1920's house plumbing in order for nearly 20 years. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Thank God for an honest, competent, reasonably priced and quickly available plumber! That was my experience with Doug Kuttruff. I appreciate that he sold me the cheapest garbage disposal that he had because he didn't think I needed anything fancier - although he did have them available for sale. He was also quick and efficient in getting his work done. I will definitely use him again read more

Doug Kuttruff is professional, courteous, and prompt. No nonsense. He comes and fixes the problem!

Doug was very professional! He was honest, respectable, and efficient. He came within 20 minutes of me calling and when he arrived he unclogged my bathroom sink before I could blink! He was very reasonably priced, courteous, and personable. I recommend him to anyone and everyone! read more

You know that EASY button in the Staples commercial? This guy is that commercial! My parents were having a problem with their kitchen sink... loose hardware, leaking, low water pressure, and who knows what else. I call Doug and explain that I'm in Newport but would like for him to go to my parents' place in El Monte and see what he can do. I also explain that I can't be there, my dad will let you in, trust me, just get there ASAP. Doug says no problem, what's the address, and I'll be there in less than 2 hours. Well, three hours later my dad calls me back and is raving about Doug's professionalism, his easy going attitude, and how he quickly figured out and fixed the problem(s). My dad is kind of a handyman himself, so for him to rave about someone else's work, although being critical himself... well that's worthy of 5 stars for me. Thanks Doug! read more

i first called Kuttruff plumbing because of the great reviews on yelp, and they did not disapooint. my situation was exactly like many others, needed a plumber ASAP, did not want to deal with answering services where some call center calls back and sets an all day appt. Doug answered right away and was at my house within the same hour, no upsell, quick and honest work with no angles or Proffesional Reccomendations like previous plumbers have all attempted. glad I found a trustworthy plumber. read more

I asked a friend for recommendations for plumbers and she recommended Mr. Kuttruff. So I called Mr. Kuttruff about a leaky faucet. He arrived in about 20 minutes!!! and fixed it in literally 30 seconds. It's a tricky one too because we use Dishmaster and most plumbers never know what to do with it. We've had another problem that other plumbers couldn't fix and it's been driving my husband and I nuts for months. It's a weird, loud, piercing screech that happens when I do the laundry outside but can only be heard in one bathroom. It also sometimes comes on when you run other sinks. After about 30 seconds he figured out that not only was our toilet installed improperly (something called a ball and cock) but that also it was installed in such a way as to waste a lot of water. In a drought. I had no idea. He happened to have this part as well in his truck. Then he only charged $120 for both. I am so grateful and I will use him from now on. read more

Doug is a consummate professional - speedy, thoughtful, and honest. I can't imagine a better plumber. He'll also refer you to other great plumbers when he believes they'd be better for the job. read more

Doug came out on a Sunday, very quickly, because I had broken a valve off under my bathroom sink. Although water wasn't gushing everywhere, it was enough that I had to put a big bowl under the sink and empty it a couple of times. He was professional, completely capable, and was in and out under an hour. Will definitely use his services again. read more

I cannot believe this happened. I called because of the review I saw here at yelp. His main number connects you to his cell if he is not at the office and he picks up. He is friendly, I describe my small problem I have and he says I'll be over within the hour. He was here in 45. I thought I needed a new faucet set and he says no, let me just replace a small part and your set. He also replaces my hot water shut off valve in 15 minutes. He looked another issue in my basement and said he could take care of a piece of pipe that wasn't looking that good, but said it looks a lot worse than it is and I shouldn't waste the money. Are you kidding me! He was out of here in an hour for a very reasonable price. I will definitely be using him again when the times comes. read more
