This place is definitely underrated! This is my third time here, and every time it is such a good experience. Food is delicious and they do fusion so well! Such a fun menu. This time, we came as a large group 15 people with kids. I emailed and they set my reservation within a couple of days. As usual, service was amazing! Waiters/waitresses are kind and attentive.

Had a fun meal at Kuma Kitchen + Bar and really liked how creative the menu was. We ordered the garlic noodle with chicken and the Tom Yum spaghetti with meatballs, and both dishes felt like a fun twist on familiar comfort food. The flavors were unique without being too over the top (although slightly on the heavier side), which I appreciated. I also got an iced tea and really loved it, it was refreshing and a great pairing with the food during summer. The space also stood out as a good bar setup, especially if you're looking for somewhere casual to watch sports. Overall, a solid spot for creative dishes, drinks, and game-watching vibes. I'd come back again, especially with a group. Would also note the staff was nice, but the food was a little bit of a wait.

I was intrigued by some of the Asian fusion options here, as they take on American classic dishes into a whole other level. This is a sister(?) restaurant / neighboring business to 1988 where I loved the Asian fusion cocktails. Here, I was eyeing the banh mi smashburger which included shoestring fries and dipping sauce for $16. Pretty solid price for dine in, and the food execution is on point. They even have some lemongrass beef on top of the beef patty, alongside the typical banh mi fixings like jalapeño, cucumber, and pickled carrots and daikon! It was a really satisfying burger. The fries were really good too - a bit hard to just use a fork but the thinness of the fries makes it easy to soak up the dipping sauce. I also got the Audrey cocktail which is an egg white cocktail. Also $16 which is decent price, and is quite fruity and easy to drink. Service is good as the refilled water periodically and checked up on me. The dining experience here was really smooth as I didn't need to wait long for anything I needed

Kuma Kitchen is an Asian fusion restaurant located in the heart of downtown Georgetown across from Matcha Man. Kuma translates to "Bear" in Japanese. It is street-parking only, but there are a handful of spaces under the bridge that are shared by the different venues. The restaurant is modern and classy with prices ranging from $16-$20 for entrees. I would recommend it as a good date night spot. My boyfriend and I weren't too hungry and so we split the ENOKI FRITTERS ($13) and the PHO-RENCH DIP ($19). The ENOKI FRITTERS were tender, light, and crispy. They were beautifully fanned out around a cup of honey mustard (which I'll be honest, we preferred dipping these in the pho broth from the pho-rench dip instead). While tasty, the fritters were mostly batter with not much enoki and so we were slightly disappointed by that. The PHO-RENCH DIP was hearty, meaty, and cozy. It came with grilled onions, melted provolone cheese, and a side of fries (which you can upgrade to salad instead for +$2), and rich pho consume (dipping broth). The broth was the highlight of the dish with highly concentrated umami, savory, and sweet flavors. The meat was tender and juicy and the bread was light and fluffy. For drink, we tried their HONEY BEE signature cocktail ($15) which had jalapeño infused bourbon, Aperol, grilled pineapple, honey, and lemon juice. This cocktail was on the sweeter side and had tropical flavors with a slight kick of heat at the end. I was hoping for a fresh wedge of grilled pineapple, but it was actually just a thin piece of dried pineapple used as a garnish in the drink. Service was great and we got our food within 10-15 minutes after ordering. Overall: 4/5 for food, 4/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere

i really wanted to love this place, a vietnamese fusion restaurant but honestly the food just didn't hit for me. the natang dip was probably the highlight, pretty solid... but everything else kind of fell flat. the udon was okay tasted like the natang dip with some udon noodles. nothing memorable, and the pho was just... not good. the bo kho tacos sounded so promising, but the "consommé" which would be the bo kho broth ended up tasting like slightly dressed-up tomato soup-ish beef broth. Even the salad was off, which surprised me. The nuoc mam was really bland and didn't bring anything together. It had lettuce and a lot of deep fried egg noodles and a lot of random other things that didn't go well together. that said, the space is super cute and aesthetically pleasing, and the owners were genuinely kind and helpful. they went out of their way to help our party of 10 pick dishes they thought we'd enjoy, which i really appreciated. i just left feeling ngán and pretty unsatisfied, which sucks because i had high hopes coming in. i feel bad saying this, but it honestly felt like a waste of money. i hope it was just an off day.

Really enjoyed this! We came here on a Sunday evening and got greeted and seated right away. The server was very friendly and was quick to refill our waters. Food also came out at a decent pace. Ambiance is nice and cozy. We ordered the tom yum spaghetti and bulgogi burger. The burger was excellent - super juicy, flavorful and well seasoned. A bit messy, but not too bad. The tom yum spaghetti was interesting, in a good way! It had good flavor and a nice sourness that I enjoyed. Meatballs were good as well, not dry. I'd come here again for sure.

The food here was fantastic! The staff is kind and the interior is very nicely decorated. I got the banh mi smash burger with fries, which came with a delicious sweet chili-big mac/mayo type of sauce for dipping. I don't usually like super sweet-salty combos too much, so sweet sauce tends to be a miss for me. I was surprised that I enjoyed the sauce so much. The fries themselves were also crisp and seasoned well. The burger itself was juicy and the pickled veggies added that signature banh mi crunch and fresh element. Their other dishes look quite interesting as well, so I'd like to go back again soon. 100% recommend trying this spot out!

Happened to be in the area and was looking for a place to eat. Found this Viet-thai restaurant and wasn't disappointed. Service was great and the food was delicious. The only small criticism I have is that certain dishes should come with white rice. Especially, the Cambodian dip, prahok ktiss. The dishes are pretty pricey, so I think some rice could balance some of the dishes out. Other than that, everything was great. Will be coming back!

Just a memorable meal and another Georgetown gem. Service is attentive but not hovering. I had the smashburger bahn mi with beyond beef. The edges were crispy and delicious. The sandwich was packed with crisp and tangy veggies. Every bit flavor packed with the distinctive tastes of pickled veggies. The fries were good but had been clearly left sitting while the patty was cooked. I had a shaken Mange Tea which did not dissapoint. Still Kuma goes into heavy rotation and you owe it yourself to try this lively stop.

First time trying Kuma Kitchen for a late lunch. We decided to split 4 appetizers and an iced coffee. Food was bright and colorful, with fresh and crisp veggies. I think I liked the enuki fritters with yuzu aioli (reminded me of honey mustard). Their green beans were nice and crisp. And their Baos had a generous amount of pork belly, which went great with the pickled veggies (tasted similar to a banh mi). Service was friendly and attentive. Casual ambiance. I'll probably try one of their salads or sandwiches next time to explore more of the menu.

We stopped in for a mid day lunch in Georgetown hood and found this new asian fusion spot. (Located basically across the street from Fan graphics and all city coffee.) We were greeted by kind staff, seated by the tall windows. The menu is fresh and interesting fusion. Cambodian appetizer looked great, bah mi smash burger, a pho dip sandwich ect. All sounded delicious and it was hard to choose a lunch. This visit we decided on a fresh egg roll salad bowl with added chicken, I liked the fresh rice vinegar/fish sauce dressing (its my favorite flavor of a Vietnamese salad) the added cut up egg rolls and added crunch was tasty and on point. I decided on the bang bang shrimp po poy which was excellent, perfectly breaded crunchy prawns that were juicy inside and served on a expertly toasted baguette with arugula tomato and tasty bang bang aioli style sauce ( I just wished it was more spicy, however it was delicious and creamy) Your sandwich is served with salad or shoestring fries (note the the fries are preseasoned/very salty but paired well with all that bread) carb alert but yumma! Our waitress was nice, checked on us, refilled water which I was thankful for. The meal didn't break the bank, either! A cool cocktail lounge is connected next door, so may have to try those sometime. The only comical complaint was the music was the most generic, sad 80s (like 'hooked on a feeling',ect, lol) Stuff even as a kid you'd groan if you hear it. Maybe switch up the station is all. Sure it's not the staffs fault for the lame soundtrack that day. :D Definitely will have to try more dishes here!

Went to lunch here yesterday towards the end of rush probably about 1:30. Was greeted immediately and seated at a nice window seat. Located in the space that was previously Hitchcock. Staff was pleasant and friendly water glasses stayed full and they checked on us asking how the meal was. Large space with plenty of seating and a bar. Extensive Pan Asian menu. Mix of live and fake plants as decor. Nice back wall branding. Have been to The Brick and Ocha in Renton who have a connection. We like our dishes. My dad had the Pho-rench Dip and I had the La Vong Fish Sandwich. Flavors delicious on the fish sandwich enjoyed the mint, dill and pickled onions added freshness to the sandwich. Fish was moist, generous portion like that the sandwiches come with shoe string. The bun was nicely toasted for the fish sandwich but think the bread is almost too soft for the sandwich started falling a part a bit made it difficult to eat. My dad enjoyed his Pho-rench meat was tender and broth was fragrant. Definitely would return, the cocktails looked good would like to try them sometime.

I had a hard time choosing what to order because so many things sounded good! I ended up with the bahn mi smash burger. It was so good! We also ordered the umami fries, they were the bomb! I had to order an extra to go! Also had the Oasis drink, it was delicious and refreshing. The service was friendly although the food took a little bit longer than expected, but well worth the wait! Yesterday, my boys and I hit up KUMA for lunch right after landing from our Vegas trip--we were starving! Coming off all the amazing food in Vegas, KUMA had a lot to live up to, and it did not disappoint. We ordered five dishes, expecting small portions, but they were way bigger than we thought! Everything was delicious, but even with our big appetites, we could only finish three out of the five. The flavors in each dish blended perfectly, making every bite worth it! We have been to Kuma Kitchen multiple times since they've opened. We love their cocktails - they have a variety of drinks that are creative and taste amazing. We have had their pho, udon and papaya salad entrees and they are all great! The service is also excellent and we love the ambiance. We made the mistake of eating somewhere else before checking out this new spot. The owners were behind the bar and coming out from the kitchen to chat with customers. They are so friendly and the cocktails were innovative and well balanced. We loved everything we tried. We can't wait to come back on an empty stomach to devour all that delicious food that was coming out of the kitchen. The chef shared with us that they make their own chili oil with lemongrass! Omg! I can't wait to try this! We loved it so much we left Kuma and went next door to their sister cocktail bar 1988 to indulge in more of their offerings. read more

I ordered takeout on a Wednesday night after seeing a lot of great reviews, but unfortunately my experience didn't quite match the hype. The food was very oily and didn't taste especially fresh. It was ready quickly and pickup was easy, but overall it didn't feel worth the price. That said, I'd be open to trying again and dining in next time--hopefully the in-house experience lives up to the strong reviews that brought me here. read more

Ordered the pho and the spaghetti here and my favorite was the garlic green bean appetizer!! That dish was sooooo addicting and very savory. The spaghetti just tasted fine to me but my bf enjoyed it and said the portion was 3x more than at an Italian restaurant lol. My pho was very tasty and enough to fill me up, though I wish they offered bean sprouts but I understand it's not their specialty as it is fusion. The staff was very attentive and funny! I didn't get any alcohol but their cocktails are very intriguing so I hope to come back! read more

I had lunch at this newer spot today in Georgetown and it may be my current favorite. I am a regular in this area so always interested in what's new. The food and vibe here was great and I can't wait to go back to try more. We had the Natang dip which was spicy for me but very good so I kept eating. Then we both had the Smash Cheeseburger which has a Vietnamese twist to it and very good. However I did see some more traditional Vietnamese dishes go by that looked amazing so I will go back very soon. read more

Came in for the first time for lunch. Really love this place as it is very inviting and charming. Ordered the bahn mi smash burger and the Bho ko tacos. The smash burger was super good as it mixes Vietnamese flavors of pickled veggies with the burger. Who would have thought the mix of flavors would be so good. Same with tacos the pho like dip for the tacos made it so comforting to eat. Service was excellent too as wanted to know more about food items as they are innovative. You can tell they are really attentive to their customers. Will be back soon to try more menu items like the creamy udon. read more

I wish we had taken pictures to show how delicious Kuma is! Amongst 4 of us, we ordered a thai salad w/beef (flavor explosion), steak sandwich (great flavor beef), pho-French dip (juicy & flavor) and the khokho udon (big bowl of comfort). We all want to go again to try more dishes and repeat what we had. We went in on a Sun afternoon and it was not busy - don't let that cause hesitation as I think the 'word' is just not out yet about this cute place with very nice service (accommodated a couple of ingredient modifications for me). Stop reading - just GO! read more

Wish I could give 10 stars! I hesitate to give this review because I feel like I want to keep it for myself! We met a friend here to surprise him on his birthday. He was surprised and moved by the amazing staff. They made it such a special day for him. I had the udon with pork and it was sooooooo good that I didn't want to share. The others had tacos, pho and garlic noodles and of course, the garlic green beans!!! Everything came out steaming hot and delicious! We are already talking about our next visit. We will be back for sure! The parking can be tough but totally worth it! Thank you for such a lovely and tasty experience! Your customer service made us all feel like family. Delicious southeast Asian spot in Georgetown. Good selection of local beers on tap, legit bar set up, and of course the food! We got the Natang Dip, mango salad, and banh mi smash burger. Just back from our first time at Kuma, and it was Stellar! The food was so delicious. We got the Umami Fries (must have), Honey Sriracha Brussels sprouts , and the yummy Garlic Noodles. For drinks, I got the XOXO, Andi and my partner got the Lavender BG, both of which exceeded our expectations. The space is super cute and comfortable, the service was just right, and I cannot wait to go back. They've also got a sister bar, 1988, next door with more drinks and partial Kuma menu. Georgetown has a lot of great food and Kuma is a worthy addition. Highly recommended. read more

We wanted to try a new place and saw all the positive reviews on Yelp. Kuma is not to my taste. We found it too greasy, too sweet, and not enough interesting flavors to try again at the price point. We tried the dishes mentioned in many of the other reviews: enoki fritters, umami fries, garlic green beans and natang dip. The enoki fritters sound good and Instagram pretty, but I found them greasy and the yuzu aioli mostly tasted of mayonnaise without much yuzu punch. If they had more citrus flavor, I could imagine that nicely countering the grease. The umami fries were French fries with a slight bit of extra flavor, but we are still mourning the loss of the Spice Waala fries from the CC SW location and these, sadly, did not fill that void. We were expecting something like those served at Din Tai Fung for the green beans. They were in that direction, but they had a gloopy, sweet, brown sauce on them that ruined them for my palate. Please hold the brown sauce in the future! The natang dip was a bowl of greasy ground pork with some mild fish saucy flavor. I was thinking it was going to be more peanut based with a bit of pork, but it was mostly pork with no peanut. The mango salad saved our palates with a few crispy, fresh bites. read more

There was a ton of breading, practically thicker than the chicken itself. But somehow it just failed to be crunchy - it just felt soggy with every bite. Over-breaded chicken is never a great sign, and the inside was terrible - barely even tasting like chicken. It was super overcooked; no juice at all. The fried chicken piece was also super thin compared to how large the buns were. Just nothing worked on this sandwich at all - including the excessive amount of mayo. It's one of the worst fried chicken sandwiches I've had. Price-wise, the chicken sandwich is actually not too expensive at around $11. The soft serve is about half that, but at a pretty good portion. It's tough for me to come up with an overall rating because the soft serve was so good, followed by a mind-bogglingly bad sandwich. I guess I'd only recommend you come here for dessert. 6.5/10

Nothing necessarily to write home about, but a good start to the meal. For my second plate, I ordered the lamb ribs with harissa barbecue sauce, whipped garlic, pickled red onions, and herbs. I sat outside, and when the lamb ribs came out, they were definitely different from the kind of ribs I'm used to. I normally think of traditional barbecue or baby back ribs, whereas these had more of a Mediterranean-inspired preparation. They were a little messy to eat, but the combination of the harissa barbecue sauce, whipped garlic, pickled onions, spices, and herbs made them pretty interesting. The lamb was tasty, although it didn't completely blow me away. I'd probably put the ribs themselves around a 3.5/5. Overall, though, Ciudad was a pretty good choice, especially if you like Mediterranean-inspired food and want something a little different from traditional barbecue. I'll round the overall experience up to 4/5. And yes -- ciudad means "city" in Spanish. The more you know, guys. We put in the order at 6:33pm and it said it would be ready by 7:09. We were okay waiting. We got the steak bahn mi, the tater tots and one of the alcoholic drinks in the capri sun, we paid almost $40. We were waiting and waiting. I kept checking my status and it just said it has started. At around 7:15, I went up to just see how much longer since they have a TV that gives updates. It now said it would be a 15 min wait. I went to the counter to ask for an update at around 7:20 because we because we were nearing an hour. The guy on the counter says- so we ran out of the steak bahn mi. We weren't notified. I had to go and check and that's when I found out. I was like okay, can I get a refund for that. And he tells me he can make my drink, I said no, we need to leave can we get a refund for that too. I ask how much longer for the tater tots would take he said he could get those to me in 3 min. I was hungry and we needed to eat something so i said sure. I waited and then i noticed my number was gone and they weren't moving any faster so I went back in line to ask for the refund for my tots. The guy helping me was not helpful. He tried to convince me to wait for the tots. There were people behind me also asking for refunds because they had waited for an hour plus. The most frustrating thing was that they kept taking online orders. There were orders coming in from online orders yet they weren't even putting out the people present. And the fact that they didn't let us know things were out of stock is so unprofessional. I saved the receipts of the refunds because I don't know if they really will refund us. Save your money, time and energy. Go somewhere else.

The Crab noodles (& ask for an order of their chilly oil to go with it), the Garlic butter prawns - i do think that one needs a better name, the highlight is the sweet and tangy, spicy tamarind dip, and the Chinese donut, which is unlike any donut you would have had. Some of my favorites - the Com Ga Hoy An, Crispy Pork Belly. Cocktails are great - Asian inspired, spicy, tangy. The service has always been friendly and great. Great for a casual lunch and dinner. They're open till late in the night. Often our place to go for dinner after a show.

It includes fried rockfish with tumeric, fresh dill, green onions, fried shallots, an Imperial Roll (yes!), fresh mint, basil, lettuce, cucumber, pickled vegetables on a bed of rice vermicelli. *Chef's kiss!* This Ba Bar has A/C (a beautiful thing in Seattle), free and paid street parking nearby, and a nice, low lights vibe. Service the last three times I went was good--friendly and efficient. They also have an excellent happy hour if you drink and like wings and such. If I lived closer, I'd probably go there all the time, but I don't, so I go whenever I'm in the Capitol Hill/First Hill area around lunch or dinner time. The only thing I don't like is they charge for takeout boxes. I think last time I ordered a pretty big order for myself and friends, I was charged 3%. Not cool. I will say the photographer created a bit of an uncomfortable experience as she came off a bit pushy and did not explain what the photos were for. She ended up coming back and wanting us to pose differently and retake them. We politely told her we weren't interested and she proceeded to come by and show us a printed photo of ours to sell. When we said no thanks, she continued to press and tell us to just take a photo of the photo with our phone lol. Besides the photographer, the food was pretty good. I ordered a khao soi, and it was my first time trying the dish. I am not sure I would come back, but it was a nice dining experience besides the photographer and the food was good.

Interestingly, when I ordered noodles and asked for chopsticks, they told me they didn't have any. It was quite a surprise to find an Asian restaurant serving noodles without chopsticks. As for the food, it was fine, but nothing memorable for the price. I've had better Asian food elsewhere in Seattle for less. If you're after a stylish, brunch-aesthetic spot to try Asian-inspired dishes, Di Fiora fits the bill. But if you're going purely for the flavors, you may leave underwhelmed.

I would opt for just a bottle of the lychee soju next time (which our server/chef did suggest), it really was the best of the flight. The spicy bbq pork and beef bibimbap had us smiling from ear to ear. Very tender and juicy with really great flavor, and a good portion size for two people. Kimchi pancake was close behind, we ate every crumb. We probably wouldn't get the tempura ebi again but hey, they can't all be winners!! Will be back with a larger group to try the beef tartare and whole fried chicken, and some more tapas. They're calling to us.
