Had a fun meal at Kuma Kitchen + Bar and really liked how creative the menu was. We ordered the garlic noodle with chicken and the Tom Yum spaghetti with meatballs, and both dishes felt like a fun twist on familiar comfort food. The flavors were unique without being too over the top (although slightly on the heavier side), which I appreciated. I also got an iced tea and really loved it, it was refreshing and a great pairing with the food during summer. The space also stood out as a good bar setup, especially if you're looking for somewhere casual to watch sports. Overall, a solid spot for creative dishes, drinks, and game-watching vibes. I'd come back again, especially with a group. Would also note the staff was nice, but the food was a little bit of a wait.

The food here was fantastic! The staff is kind and the interior is very nicely decorated. I got the banh mi smash burger with fries, which came with a delicious sweet chili-big mac/mayo type of sauce for dipping. I don't usually like super sweet-salty combos too much, so sweet sauce tends to be a miss for me. I was surprised that I enjoyed the sauce so much. The fries themselves were also crisp and seasoned well. The burger itself was juicy and the pickled veggies added that signature banh mi crunch and fresh element. Their other dishes look quite interesting as well, so I'd like to go back again soon. 100% recommend trying this spot out!

Happened to be in the area and was looking for a place to eat. Found this Viet-thai restaurant and wasn't disappointed. Service was great and the food was delicious. The only small criticism I have is that certain dishes should come with white rice. Especially, the Cambodian dip, prahok ktiss. The dishes are pretty pricey, so I think some rice could balance some of the dishes out. Other than that, everything was great. Will be coming back!

Kuma Kitchen is an Asian fusion restaurant located in the heart of downtown Georgetown across from Matcha Man. Kuma translates to "Bear" in Japanese. It is street-parking only, but there are a handful of spaces under the bridge that are shared by the different venues. The restaurant is modern and classy with prices ranging from $16-$20 for entrees. I would recommend it as a good date night spot. My boyfriend and I weren't too hungry and so we split the ENOKI FRITTERS ($13) and the PHO-RENCH DIP ($19). The ENOKI FRITTERS were tender, light, and crispy. They were beautifully fanned out around a cup of honey mustard (which I'll be honest, we preferred dipping these in the pho broth from the pho-rench dip instead). While tasty, the fritters were mostly batter with not much enoki and so we were slightly disappointed by that. The PHO-RENCH DIP was hearty, meaty, and cozy. It came with grilled onions, melted provolone cheese, and a side of fries (which you can upgrade to salad instead for +$2), and rich pho consume (dipping broth). The broth was the highlight of the dish with highly concentrated umami, savory, and sweet flavors. The meat was tender and juicy and the bread was light and fluffy. For drink, we tried their HONEY BEE signature cocktail ($15) which had jalapeño infused bourbon, Aperol, grilled pineapple, honey, and lemon juice. This cocktail was on the sweeter side and had tropical flavors with a slight kick of heat at the end. I was hoping for a fresh wedge of grilled pineapple, but it was actually just a thin piece of dried pineapple used as a garnish in the drink. Service was great and we got our food within 10-15 minutes after ordering. Overall: 4/5 for food, 4/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere

I was intrigued by some of the Asian fusion options here, as they take on American classic dishes into a whole other level. This is a sister(?) restaurant / neighboring business to 1988 where I loved the Asian fusion cocktails. Here, I was eyeing the banh mi smashburger which included shoestring fries and dipping sauce for $16. Pretty solid price for dine in, and the food execution is on point. They even have some lemongrass beef on top of the beef patty, alongside the typical banh mi fixings like jalapeño, cucumber, and pickled carrots and daikon! It was a really satisfying burger. The fries were really good too - a bit hard to just use a fork but the thinness of the fries makes it easy to soak up the dipping sauce. I also got the Audrey cocktail which is an egg white cocktail. Also $16 which is decent price, and is quite fruity and easy to drink. Service is good as the refilled water periodically and checked up on me. The dining experience here was really smooth as I didn't need to wait long for anything I needed

Food was really good but expensive. Service was well & expedient. And the cleanliness of the restaurant/restrooms was on par with the other Georgetown restaurants I've been to. I would eat here again.

i really wanted to love this place, a vietnamese fusion restaurant but honestly the food just didn't hit for me. the natang dip was probably the highlight, pretty solid... but everything else kind of fell flat. the udon was okay tasted like the natang dip with some udon noodles. nothing memorable, and the pho was just... not good. the bo kho tacos sounded so promising, but the "consommé" which would be the bo kho broth ended up tasting like slightly dressed-up tomato soup-ish beef broth. Even the salad was off, which surprised me. The nuoc mam was really bland and didn't bring anything together. It had lettuce and a lot of deep fried egg noodles and a lot of random other things that didn't go well together. that said, the space is super cute and aesthetically pleasing, and the owners were genuinely kind and helpful. they went out of their way to help our party of 10 pick dishes they thought we'd enjoy, which i really appreciated. i just left feeling ngán and pretty unsatisfied, which sucks because i had high hopes coming in. i feel bad saying this, but it honestly felt like a waste of money. i hope it was just an off day.

Really enjoyed this! We came here on a Sunday evening and got greeted and seated right away. The server was very friendly and was quick to refill our waters. Food also came out at a decent pace. Ambiance is nice and cozy. We ordered the tom yum spaghetti and bulgogi burger. The burger was excellent - super juicy, flavorful and well seasoned. A bit messy, but not too bad. The tom yum spaghetti was interesting, in a good way! It had good flavor and a nice sourness that I enjoyed. Meatballs were good as well, not dry. I'd come here again for sure.

Just a memorable meal and another Georgetown gem. Service is attentive but not hovering. I had the smashburger bahn mi with beyond beef. The edges were crispy and delicious. The sandwich was packed with crisp and tangy veggies. Every bit flavor packed with the distinctive tastes of pickled veggies. The fries were good but had been clearly left sitting while the patty was cooked. I had a shaken Mange Tea which did not dissapoint. Still Kuma goes into heavy rotation and you owe it yourself to try this lively stop.

First time trying Kuma Kitchen for a late lunch. We decided to split 4 appetizers and an iced coffee. Food was bright and colorful, with fresh and crisp veggies. I think I liked the enuki fritters with yuzu aioli (reminded me of honey mustard). Their green beans were nice and crisp. And their Baos had a generous amount of pork belly, which went great with the pickled veggies (tasted similar to a banh mi). Service was friendly and attentive. Casual ambiance. I'll probably try one of their salads or sandwiches next time to explore more of the menu.

We stopped in for a mid day lunch in Georgetown hood and found this new asian fusion spot. (Located basically across the street from Fan graphics and all city coffee.) We were greeted by kind staff, seated by the tall windows. The menu is fresh and interesting fusion. Cambodian appetizer looked great, bah mi smash burger, a pho dip sandwich ect. All sounded delicious and it was hard to choose a lunch. This visit we decided on a fresh egg roll salad bowl with added chicken, I liked the fresh rice vinegar/fish sauce dressing (its my favorite flavor of a Vietnamese salad) the added cut up egg rolls and added crunch was tasty and on point. I decided on the bang bang shrimp po poy which was excellent, perfectly breaded crunchy prawns that were juicy inside and served on a expertly toasted baguette with arugula tomato and tasty bang bang aioli style sauce ( I just wished it was more spicy, however it was delicious and creamy) Your sandwich is served with salad or shoestring fries (note the the fries are preseasoned/very salty but paired well with all that bread) carb alert but yumma! Our waitress was nice, checked on us, refilled water which I was thankful for. The meal didn't break the bank, either! A cool cocktail lounge is connected next door, so may have to try those sometime. The only comical complaint was the music was the most generic, sad 80s (like 'hooked on a feeling',ect, lol) Stuff even as a kid you'd groan if you hear it. Maybe switch up the station is all. Sure it's not the staffs fault for the lame soundtrack that day. :D Definitely will have to try more dishes here!

Went to lunch here yesterday towards the end of rush probably about 1:30. Was greeted immediately and seated at a nice window seat. Located in the space that was previously Hitchcock. Staff was pleasant and friendly water glasses stayed full and they checked on us asking how the meal was. Large space with plenty of seating and a bar. Extensive Pan Asian menu. Mix of live and fake plants as decor. Nice back wall branding. Have been to The Brick and Ocha in Renton who have a connection. We like our dishes. My dad had the Pho-rench Dip and I had the La Vong Fish Sandwich. Flavors delicious on the fish sandwich enjoyed the mint, dill and pickled onions added freshness to the sandwich. Fish was moist, generous portion like that the sandwiches come with shoe string. The bun was nicely toasted for the fish sandwich but think the bread is almost too soft for the sandwich started falling a part a bit made it difficult to eat. My dad enjoyed his Pho-rench meat was tender and broth was fragrant. Definitely would return, the cocktails looked good would like to try them sometime.

Tried a couple of dishes to share amongst the 4 of us. When we tried to order they told us that their menu hadn't been updated and they had gotten rid of the bo kho tacos with a different taco, but this new one tastes way better. We also got the wings and the spaghetti, unanimously between all of us we thought the pasta was the best. It tasted like a not all spaghetti and meatballs with slight lemongrass and ginger taste -- the taste is much stronger in the meat. The tacos and the wings were just alright, the wings were not very crispy and just not very impressed. Overall I might go again and try their drinks but the food wasn't very impressive. Our waiter was very nice, promptly refilled our water, and was attentive without being pushy. The ambiance is casual but they have a bar so I could see it becoming more formal for dinner settings. Food came out pretty quick! I absolutely love the fries and aioli. I'm not sure if the phone captured it properly but there were A LOT of fries. The fries were very very crunchy but not oily at all and well-seasoned, which paired perfectly with the aioli. The aioli itself was very creamy and we were given lots of it. For the main show, the burger, I also loved both the taste and texture. The patty was well-seasoned and had a slightly crisp to it. The vegetables had a crunch and made the burger feel fresh. I was a fan of how the tartness of the pickled vegetables parked with the saltiness of the patty. It's also a huge burger. I wasn't able to finish both the fries and burger so this will definitely fill you up if you're hungry! Overall, as a Vietnamese-American, I think it's a wonderful twist on Vietnamese and American flavors and I'm happy I got the opportunity to try something unique like this. Highly recommend. Went here with 2 of my girlfriends, and we are still talking about how good everything was 2 days later. The atmosphere is cute and modern. The service was excellent. Our waitress was so friendly, funny, and helpful when trying to decide what to order. The cocktails, we tried 4 different ones and each one was so good. You can't go wrong with any choices. As for the food.... WOW, just WOW. We started with the enoki mushrooms, brussel sprouts, and garlic green beans. They were all cooked perfectly and had great flavor! For the entrees, we ordered garlic noodles with chicken and the fried chicken sandwich. I personally had the chicken sandwich and shoestring fries, and I devoured it! So delicious and great flavor. Soooo good! The enoki fritters were well seasoned, perfectly crispy, would definitely get this every time I go. The creamy udon had great flavor, fried tofu felt a bit plain flavor and seasoning wise. Bo kho tacos were solid as well. Honey bee cocktail was indeed spicy and packs a punch. Kuma Kitchen has only been in business for about 7 months, but they delivered on service, presentation, and flavor. I felt they have a good attention to detail with their streamlined decor and delicious food and drinks. Today, I tried their Mango Shaken Iced Tea, Lychee Shaken Iced Tea, Calamari, and Garlic Noodles w/ Fried Tofu. All were refreshing and yummy. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes and drinks. I enjoy Georgetown and this new restaurant is yet another reason for me to venture in this cool and artsy part of town more often! read more

Street parking was easy on a Thursday night and we got a seat right away. The Honeybee drink was very spicy so I don't recommend it for spice wimps such as myself. Food came fairly quickly. The Creamy Udon was great comfort food and a large portion. Service was friendly. read more

We landed up here after visiting the Kyoto Art exhibition a few minutes away (plug for that seasonal popup!). The place is huge. We were there on a nice fall afternoon, and the natural light through the large streetside windows puts you in a mood to chat foe hours. We ate only two things - the portions are very filling. 1. Mango salad with chicken. Served with tapioca wafers. The veggie + fruity portion is very flavorful, the strips of chicken were succulent, the marriage didn't seem a good one. 3/5 2. Natang dip served with baguette and veggies - A rich ground pork dip that is sweet, tangy, spicy. Absolutely delicious though it was a tad on the sweeter side for me. Ask for their soicy oil (a $ extra) and red thai chillies, if that's your jam :-). That offset the sweetnees. The baguette goes so well with the dip as do the veggies - all wide shaped - green peppers, red cabbage to scoop up the dip. 4/5 The lady servinf us was an sbolute gem. It was my first time trying Kuma Kitchen and I had an overall great experience Our waiter was friendly and seated us quickly. He was attentive throughout our meal and made sure to check in on us even as we were yapping away. We tried the enoki fritters and umami fries which were probably my favorites of our meal. The fritters were light and crispy while the fries definitely had that sweet savory kick to them. We also ordered the creamy udon and their tacos (forgot to take a pic!!). Initially, we wanted to try their Bo kho tacos but unfortunately they were no longer on their menu. Instead the waiter recommended a different taco dish, which I cannot remember what the name is for the life of me. Nonetheless, both of these entrees were delicious. When I first saw the menu, I knew I needed to try this place! We had the creamy udon, umami fries, and bo kho tacos. Everything was delicious, however the most memorable was the natang dip. If you're looking for some great Asian fusion food, this is the spot! The restaurant is well lit and spacious. I ordered the Banh Mi Smash Burger, and it was really good, full of flavor and tasted just like a Banh Mi. They also have some unique Asian-inspired drinks. We had an amazing first experience at Kuma Kitchen! It's a lovely space, the service was warm, friendly, and professional, and the food was absolutely delicious! And great cocktails as well! We shared the umami fries, the honey & sriracha brussels sprouts, the peanut noodle salad, the egg roll salad, the bo kho tacos, and the tom yum spaghetti & meatballs. Everything was terrific! This was amazing! Our dinner started with the honey siracha brussel sprouts, and they were perfect - sweet and touch of spicy, with crunchy roasted leaves and crisp shallots and garlic. Then my hubby got the smash burger and I got the Pho-ranch ("French") Dip sandwich - both were delicious. What a unique and tasty flavor combination! And I loooove shoestring fries, and the dipping sauce is mwah - chef's kiss! Not to mention the Lavender BG cocktail - I want to drown in a vat of that! The service was friendly and attentive without hovering or call-across-the-restaurant absent. The bartender came over once and asked if we wanted any refills. There are TVs playing sports, but the music is low 80's vibe, great for holding a convo without needing to yell. We will DEFINITELY make Kuma a part of our regular restaurant rotation! read more

Came here again recently and I have the same feelings. I think this is a solid place to dine a seems locally or family owned. Service was not lacking. Well seasoned food. Not much else on the menu really interests me to go again anytime soon, but they do have very solid offerings that seem pretty cohesive to me to be on the same menu. It would make a great date night spot because it's clean and aesthetic without being too expensive. I'd love to come back and just drink a few drinks with an appetizer or two. read more

Heard about this new Pan Asian resturant in Georgetown that's in South Seattle. The food was delicious I had the Bulgogi Smash Burger with a side salad. This is one of their most popular items. My husband had the Miso Chicken Wrap with fries. My sister had the Laos Street Tacos made with pork. What made it so tasty is the combination of Asian flavors in a traditional dish. Our waiter checked in on us several times and made sure our glasses were full. Very simple casual decor. Will come here again when I visit Seattle in a couple of weeks to try some other items on the menu. read more

Kuma Kitchen is a nice addition to Georgetown. It's spacious and clean, the service is great, and I've enjoyed the food that I've tried to date. One thing to note is that they have been adjusting or rotate their menu, so not everything mentioned on Yelp was on the menu. The Banh Mi Smashburger and Bo Kho tacos both tasted like what I expected, so if you're a fan of Banh Mi or Bo Kho - you won't be disappointed. The Lychee tea tasted watered down, so I would skip their drinks next time. Their menu is on the pricey side, but I would consider coming back for their unique dishes. read more

I normally never write reviews but had to given the poor experience. We ordered three dishes to share. All three had meat that was so grossly overcooked it made it seem like it was twice frozen pork and beef. Couldn't even eat half the meal. The server clearly did not care about her job and didn't even ask us about our experience or how the food was or even if we wanted a to go box considering half the meal was still on the table. We did not take the food to go because it was horrendous. Buyer beware, will not be going back. It's too expensive to eat out for such poor quality. read more
