Krust is the real deal. The second I saw our pizza come out of the oven, I knew it was going to be good, the owner sliced it, and you could hear the crunch from across the counter. That's when I knew we were in for something special. We ordered the Pepperoni with Hot Honey and the Burrata pizza. Both were absolute standouts. The pepperoni had that perfect balance of salty and sweet with just the right amount of heat from the honey, while the burrata was rich, creamy, and fresh without being heavy. Every bite was loaded with flavor, and the square-style crust was crisp on the outside yet soft and chewy inside. On top of the food, the atmosphere made it even better...it's family owned and run, and you can feel the pride they put into their place. They were genuinely kind and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even more memorable. If you're a pizza lover, this spot is a must-try. Square pies, big flavor, and that perfect crunch. Can't wait to go back.

Small little pizza stop. Chill atmosphere. You order at the counter. They were accommodating and I was able to get no cheese on my half of our pizza. Prices are a little high. Pizza was good.

I had very high expectations coming here and I still was pleasantly surprised. This is by far the best Detroit style pizza I've ever had. I had the pepperoni hot honey and it was the perfect balance of savory and sweet, I also had the vodka sauce one which had onions, sweet tomatoes, and bacon and it was unbelievable. Even had a great cheese pull. I tried a variety of their desserts, I had the key lime pie, the Reese's pie, banana cream pie, coconut pie, and churro dulce de leche pastry. All were delicious! The service was great and pizza came out at a good time. The inside of the place is nice and the pizza is made pretty much in front of you. And lots of parking. Overall I have zero complaints and would absolutely come again.

Additionally, don't miss out on the banana pie cake. It's incredibly delicious. The rich, creamy texture and the sweetness of the bananas make it a fantastic dessert choice. Extremely clean and tastefully decorated space. We ordered half pepperoni and half mushroom and it was absolutely delicious! Love a Detroit style pie and we weren't disappointed; crispy crust, airy dough, and lots of cheese. I couldn't resist getting a piece of banana cream pie (with nilla wafer pieces) to go. It was perfect. Highly recommend Krust! Can't wait to come back to this area so we can try a different "pie" and pie!

AMAZING! Great service by warm people (owners). Awesome spot, very spacious and clean. Now for the pizza, I'll probably say this is the best deep dish I've had in Miami/Keys. Why? Bc it's just the right amount of thickness. Some others are too filling. Krust hits it right on the spot and the flavors are delicious! Run don't walk or rather don't nap! This is the Best Pizza if ever had in my Life! The cheesy crust, the cheese and the sauce is spectacular! This husband and wife show is amazing! They close Monday & Tuesday because they are making the fermented dough! The place is clean and beautifully decorated with an artist mural and simple table decor. They are friendly and everything is fresh, made on hand in a clean kitchen. Do not miss this stop while in Key Largo or on your way to Key West!

Great pizza shop, modern , very clean and wholly owned and operated by a very appreciative husband and wife team - the staff of only two would explain the limited operating hours 12 PM - 6 PM although if you add in the prep time and clean up time and everything else required to run a business it's a long day I'm sure. We arrived a few minutes before noon and there were already people waiting to go inside. The menu is simple which allows for an extraordinarily focus on everything that is plated here - one size pizza definitely is plenty for two, the chef brings a unique perspective to each dish I thought the pepperoni honey pizza was amazing the airy but crispy crust topped with fresh quality ingredients and plenty of them and the attention to detail raises the bar here in the Keys. I loved the small diameter pepperoni, the hand torn basil leaves and the low moisture mozzarella which gives that stretch that so many pizza houses miss. We also shared a Caesar Salad which was also was plenty for two to share so simple and fresh. I'd be remised if I didn't mention a few oddities, I have no issue ordering at the counter and prepaying including the gratuity if I was a local I'd know that the food and service will exceed my expectation - for people passing through the area I think it's a bit more challenging and the owners my be leaving some money on the table but for a two person operation it is the most efficient way to operate. Being the drinks are individual servings if I want a second or third one I have to pay again and if I decide on pie as an afterthought I have to pay again not very efficient for the customer. I loved this place and definitely would return when I'm back in the area...

My friends & I had lunch at Krust. The menu is pretty small. There are half a dozen pizzas that are 10x10". They have wings. They have meatballs. They have a few salads. You order at the counter & pay when you order. I find this a bit strange if you are eating there, especially the part of tipping before you have eaten anything. When your dish is ready, they bring it to the table. We all had different items and everything was really good. Portions are generous. Not inexpensive at $25 with tip for meatballs and bottled water. Inside is bright and open with lots of windows, widely spaced tables and wood flooring. I would definitely return.

Drove 1.5 hours to give this pizza shop a try. Worth every minute, mile and, dollar. I had the top seller with pepperoni and brought back cheese pie plus a slice of an oreo pie. It was lovely to meet you all and take pictures . I will return along with my friends but first, I will call to make sure you don't run out. Love you guys!

Fantastic pizza spot in Tavernier! Krust is a family-owned pizza joint that looks and tastes authentically so. The menu is small and simple, but the flavors are anything but! I had the #3 Pepperoni and Hot Honey pizza, which was heavy on the toppings, flavor, and crisp. The pizza is almost Detroit-style, with a square cut and edge-to-edge cheese and topping coverage, but it's not unreasonably thick the way some other pizzas of that style tend to be. The owners were super kind and friendly, and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon eating my pizza and watching The Karate Kid on the tv in the dining area (to the owners: please turn on subtitles!). I dined solo so I didn't have enough room for dessert, but I'm already planning my next day trip to the Keys so I can try one of their delicious-looking pies!

Hands down one of the BEST pizzas we've ever had!!! Flavorful, the "Krust" is baked with enough crisp to want more, and the contrast of ingredients is perfection. We've ordered in the past but for pick up, today we decided to eat in with the kids. Such a cute restaurant!!! Modern, VERY clean and open kitchen so that you can see them make your food. The owners are so welcoming and great service. The Greek salad is personally my favorite over the Cesar as it's not your typical "Greek" salad, has arugula. Then the best part... DESSERT!! Almost everything is homemade, once they run out they're out. A few of our favorites - banana cream, Nutella and carrot cake. read more

How good is Krust? Change your life good, Daniel Son your life good. Fly to Key Largo just to eat Krust, good! Seriously this place is what good food is all about. Husband & wife have mastered the art of a perfect pie. Not deep dish, not Detroit style but some unique version that gives your palate the perfect bite enjoying all the flavors. Pleasantly surprised. This was an epic pizza experience. Although the parking lot needs a little work, the food is totally worth the trip. We had the cheese for the kids and the honey hot pepperoni for the grown ups. Not a crumb was left on the plate. We finished things off with a couple of cheese cakes that did not dossapoint. Owner operator staff could not have been nicer and more attentive. Great place for Locals or out of town guests. Pricing is very fair for what you get. read more

We stopped in on our way back to Philadelphia. It's basically a Detroit style pizza. It was really good. We got four different kinds of pizza. I believe Dave Portnoy gave it a 7.7. I would score it an 8.3. It is a great place to try. read more

If you don't stop at Krust when you are in the Keys, you are seriously missing out! The pizza is outstanding but don't pass on the "pies" either. The best key lime pie we've had (and we've had a lot)!! The couple that owns it are super friendly and accommodating and it was refreshing to hear them talking with the "locals" about their kids and their activities. While visiting Key West Florida, we were road trippin from Miami to Key West and we were craving good pizza. We looked up on Yelp and Krust had great reviews. We had to stop and check it out. Family of five on Christmas Eve it was a perfect choice for great tasting pizza. We ordered Pepperoni/ cheese pizza was so delicious. The pizza crust had a slight sweetness to it and the taste of quality sliced pepperoni and cheese was a great taste to this perfect pepperoni pizza. We ordered another pizza with cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and fresh buratta cheese on a fabulous pizza crust. The owners were amazing and very helpful and friendly. The customer service was amazing. Good portions of pizza, plenty of room. Covid friendly, clean. This place is dog friendly. The owner even brought our dog a bowl Of water. It was a great stop for awesome tasting pizza. My boyfriend and I had the pepperoni honey pizza and wow. Life changing. Never was a fan of deep dish until now and the honey really pulls it all together. Cooked absolutely perfect and tasted like the freshest pizza I've ever had. Genuinely. Service was phenomenal, cutest couple who run the restaurant by themselves. Nicest people ever and chatted with us. Ambiance was amazing. Extremely clean in restaurant and very good vibes. We visited Krust during our visit to the Florida Keys and had a great experience. The Classic and Pepperoni pizzas and Greek salad we ordered were delicious. The pizza is a Detroit/Sicilian hybrid that's square in shape, crispy crust edges, and fresh ingredients. The store was pristine and we enjoyed small talk with the owners, who are extremely nice. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a solid pizza spot. read more

If you're looking for a good place to stop for lunch or dinner, look no further. This place is honestly unlike any other place in the Keys. Everything from the salads, to the meatballs, to the wings, to the pizza, down to the dessert is legit amazing. The krust is fluffy and has a perfect crunch. I have tried every dessert, and they are all amazing. But I do love the Burnt Cheesecake. The shop owners are super kind, and the atmosphere is the GREAT. There is a beautiful mural on the wall which just gives such a great vibe from the moment you walk in. This is a MUST STOP for us when we are in the Keys!! read more

I was thrilled to find this place from reviews like this one! I believe we were the only tourists in there and it's a shame because we have eaten at various other restaurants here and been let down. At Krust, we got a delicious pizza (their pepperoni special) and wings. The dough was fluffy and it came with a lot of little pepperonis. My favorite was the basil on top. The wings sauce was different than anything we'd had, a little sweet and a little spicy buffalo flavor. If we are in the keys again, even passing through this will be a repeat. Love it even more knowing that it is owned and ran by an attentive couple. The place is very clean and well kept. I dare you to go. read more

Since we were here though, when in Rome do as the Romans do, so we figured we'd give it a shot. It reminded us of that episode of Dexter where he's helping a friend who is dying and she wants to find the best key lime pie. That was kind of the energy we had going into it, just looking for the experience. I also picked up some white chocolate covered cherries but we haven't gotten to those yet. We'll report back on those. Overall it was pretty good for what it is. If you're a key lime fan I think you'll really enjoy it. For people like us who take it or leave it, it was still a solid choice and I'm glad we tried it. My wife felt the same way.

If you're brewing a concentrate, then it would be diluted so....) we ordered iced lattes which were basically just milk and flavoring. We took two sips and put them in the trash. Luckily the coffee shortage doesn't appear to affect Starbucks, because we were able to acquire cold brews there. Congratulations on being ridiculous enough to bring me out of my Yelp retirement.

Most people don't need their arse kissed but hope for a pleasant exchange while paying for their food. Reading the reviews here, it seems like terrible service from employees is an on going issue. Easy parking, decently clean restaurant.

They make delicious cakes and donuts. And the favorite there is the Cuban Sandwich, which is generously filled with ham, shredded pork, pickle, cheese and crusty bread. This is one of those spots that immediately tells you it's a local favorite the second you walk in. It feels homey, lived in, and deeply rooted in the community. The average crowd definitely skews older, which honestly just shows how loyal the regulars are and how long this place has been doing something right. We stood for a minute or two when we arrived, which wasn't a problem at all, but the initial interaction felt a little abrupt. Nothing hostile, just very direct and urgent. We later found out that Cathy is the owner, and it became clear very quickly that this place is her whole world. She works hard, moves fast, and runs on urgency. That energy can sometimes come off sharp, especially to visitors who aren't used to that local, no frills style, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt. There were moments throughout our visit where the tone felt a little rough around the edges, and it wasn't just with us, we noticed it with other tables too. It didn't feel personal, more like someone who is stretched thin and running on fumes. To her credit, there were moments where she self corrected, and I genuinely believe this was just a long day rather than bad intentions. Running a place like this day in and day out is not easy, and you can feel how much effort goes into keeping it moving. This review isn't meant to tear anyone down, just to be honest for future guests so they know what to expect walking in. What truly changed our entire experience and pushed this from a four star visit to a solid five was our server. Her name started with a T, she wore glasses, and she was African American, and she was an absolute blessing. She treated us with warmth, patience, and genuine care, like we were family she was looking out for. When we sat down and the table needed to be wiped, she handled it gracefully without a single awkward moment. Everything she did felt intentional and kind. She was attentive without hovering, respectful, and genuinely happy to be doing her job. There was also a sweet older Latina woman clearing tables who was just as lovely and welcoming. It became very clear that despite the different personalities, this place functions as a team, and the heart of High Tide lives in the people who treat guests with care and humanity. If you get that server whose name starts with a T, you are in excellent hands. Now let's talk about the food, because this is where High Tide really shines. The hash brown casserole is a straight ten out of ten. No exaggeration. Comfort food perfection. Crispy, savory, and absolutely worth ordering. The country style platter we ordered was also a ten according to my friend, hearty and satisfying in the best way. The lobster benedict was good, I would give it about an eight. It's a fun, unique option if you want to try something different, but not the standout compared to the rest of the menu. And then there's the real star of the show, the Key lime pie. Even if you are not hungry, come for the pie. This is hands down the best Key lime pie I have ever had. Perfectly balanced, not overly tart, smooth and almost cheesecake like in texture. It's the kind of dessert that makes you pause after the first bite because it's that good. Beautifully presented too. The decor is charming and thoughtfully cluttered in a way that feels authentic, not staged. The bathrooms are old but very clean. Parking is a little quirky but manageable, and there is parking available if you're patient. Overall, the vibe is cozy, memorable, and unmistakably local. Would I come back? Absolutely, especially for the food and that pie. Cathy, you are clearly working your ass off, and I hope this was just a rough day. This review comes with honesty and flowers, not shade. Five stars for the food, the heart, and the people who make this place what it is. I do recommend it.

Krust Pizza & Pies is an absolute place to go in Tavernier! My recent visit was nothing short of spectacular. We indulged in the #3 Pepperoni and Hot Honey pizza and the #4 Burrata Pizza, and both were out of this world. The pepperoni with hot honey was a perfect blend of savory and sweet, while the burrata pizza was delicious. To top it all off, we had the pistachio cheesecake for dessert, which was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Their pizzas are a revelation--light, fluffy, and made with organic flour. We had two: one with white sauce and one with pesto, both customized to perfection.
