We had 10 adults and three grandchildren at the tables. Chef Michael treated the kids with respect and described each dish as it came out. We had five appetizers, a couple salads, and the main with two sides. Everything was exceptional, we are still talking about it. We will remember this meal forever. The version we got (see note about what I ORDERED later) was supposed to be the Buffalo Hot. I don't think it was actually Buffalo as much as Gochujang, but it was very tasty. Pro: the flats were well cooked, moist and tender. Con: drumsticks were EXTREMELY dry. Another con for me...I'm really trying to stick to low-carb, which is one of the reasons wings work for me. I don't recall seeing anything on the menu that said these were batter/breaded/dusted but clearly they were NOT naked. There went my carb count for the day, but after a long day working on the boat, we needed food. Now, the order: Rebel Wings ONLY does electronic ordering for both takeout and delivery through GrubHub. When I placed the order, I ordered the 15 pc wings and put, in the special instruction that I wanted to split the order 1/2 Parmesan Garlic and 1/2 Hot Buffalo. GrubHub says that, if the establishment has any questions, they'll call me so "stand by on your phone"... no call, no questions...no Garlic Parmesan wings. I was more disappointed that I didn't get a call, even if it was to say, "no we can do a split order," than I was that I only got the Hot Buffalo. Also, the order page says you can get up to TWO dipping sauces, so I had clicked "blue cheese" figuring if I only clicked one option I'd get TWO dipping sauces for 15 wings. Nope. One and done. There was also a big whack of celery sticks bundled up in plastic wrap that I hadn't expected. Celery and carrot sticks are a typical go-with for wings; nice to have the celery, but hubby doesn't care for it..would be great to have had some carrot sticks. Now, onion rings: you can get a side of O-rings for $6.49! Fries are only $3.99 which seems totally fair. I wouldn't have ordered the o-rings at that price (guys, I'm a professional chef...I KNOW they aren't THAT much more expensive than bulk fries!), but hubby wanted them. The ones that were individual rings were tasty, nicely onion-y, and crisp. We got some that were "doubles" and they ended up kind of a gooey blob. Won't do that again for the price... So, bottom line: some almost-hits, more misses, but I think this place has potential. It's too bad that they don't take walk-up because they are RIGHT on the bike/jogging trail along Westlake, but I'm sure that's as much about safety as anything. Also, one final negative: GrubHub told me our order would be ready in 25-45 minutes. How do you KNOW? We were just on the dock adjacent to the truck and if our order had been ready in 25 minutes and we waited the full 45, our food would have been limp and on its way to cold. There HAS to be a way for the restaurant to notify you when your order is ready for pickup.
