Spicy Chicken
Max B.

Not the best teriyaki spot in Seattle, but it is the best in Ballard, no contest. Great food, great value, great humans. Typically, I'm a spicy chicken guy. Sometimes I order the regular chicken or a combo. Occasionally I get the yakisoba, and when I do I usually get it with extra veggies because that way it's enough for 2 meals....it's a lot of food for the price, and I very much appreciate that. If you want a nitpick, the chicken could use just a bit more char. Also, the yakisoba comes on top of a scoop of rice, which really seems like it's just there to take up space in the container? Either way, these are half-hearted complaints. The two guys who I see working the counter are always charming and accommodating. They'll tell you 10-15 minutes on the phone; your food will almost always be ready in 10. I have a policy of not tipping when no serving was performed (call me stingy, but it just gets out of hand), but I usually do here . I typically pick up from Sunny once every week or two. recommended if you've got a hankering for teriyaki in this area.

Felt like some teriyaki while in Ballard and found this place. Typical teriyaki spot but the food is good. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

The shrimp fried rice is to die for! You easily get 2 meals out of it. Friendly staff who has been taking COVID seriously from the very beginning. We appreciate you!

Chicken Breast Katsu and Chicken Breast Teriyaki

Best teriyaki in Ballard by far. The food is incredible and so is the service. I've ordered them several times off DoorDash and went into pick it up today the for the first time and the employee was so friendly and efficient. Definitely order their Katsu.

Solid teriyaki joint. Good portions and ok price. It was about $18 after tax and tip for teriyaki chicken breast, an egg roll, rice, and salad. Definitely upped the price due to rent and labor costs in Seattle. I have to say the meat is a little dry. I got the teriyaki sauce on the side and only used it to add some moisture to the dish. Otherwise it's usually a bit sweet for me. But a good value, especially the lunch chicken bowl for $8.

Salmon teriyaki! Yes please and thank you. Also love the chicken and gyoza combo. Love their salad dressing! Yaki soba with beef is good once in a while for me. It gets busy so I always call ahead. Love a good mom 'n pop teriyaki! The general tsao's also great if you feel the junk food need.

Rock is tenderer than this!!!

Spicy chicken was very sweet and the chicken was chewy/dry. It was fine though, but I like the spicy chicken with more spicy and less sugar

Amazing food but consider plugging your ears. When you go through the drive-through, they have that speaker cranked up to 11.

A great space for a nice sushi dinner…read more My partner and I decided on this spot for our Valentines date dinner and we were very satisfied ! Located in a pretty central part of Fremont, it offers a lot in its location. Gas Works park is only about a 10 - 15 minute walk from here which is great! Street parking may be difficult so I suggest looking at the the nearby neighborhoods for parking. The restaurant itself is quite small so I suggest a reservation if you are planning to visit during a busy weekend night which we did. The menu offers a great selection of entrees and we decided to share the tuna dinner and the salmon dinner which came full with nigiri, a roll and sashimi. We also shared a roll in additional to the salmon and tuna dinner. Each entree was perfect to share because there were two of each kind of nigiri on each plate. We were very happy with the quality of the fish and I could not decide which entree I preferred more. The service was not super memorable but I do not remember being unhappy with it either. The price point was quite reasonable for the quality. I was very happy and will be back!

Service: The waiter was friendly and provided recommendations for food. He ensured my water glass was always full. Even the sushi chefs checked in to see if I was enjoying my food. Food: I would recommend starting with a cup of green tea, miso soup, and edamame. I enjoyed all the rolls I had, which were the Hamanegi (yellowtail), Negitoro (fatty tuna), the salmon avocado roll, and the Fremont roll (spicy, with shrimp tempura, avocado, tuna, and salmon as main flavors). If you are looking for something light, go for the standard rolls. If you're looking for something filling, go for the chef's special rolls.

Met up with a friend while visiting Seattle and we went to Fremont Bowl!…read more It's street parking which took a while to find because this area was bustling with resturaunt and bars! We walked in, ordered at the tablet and sat ourselves down! Water is self serve which we grabbed before finding a seat. I ordered the small una-gyu donburi and this was delicious! Unagi was grilled and seasoned, beef was tender and the rice paired so well with the meat! Good size and we left full! Staff was nice and it got pretty busy after we got our food!

There are no bells and whistles here, just excellent service, fair prices, and fantastic food. There are only a handful of tables, which is really meant for solo diners and two people at best. There is a handful of takeout patrons at any given time, but that's only because of the wait. It's far more enticing to sit in and experience the magic that exists in every bowl. Water is self-serve and thankfully presented in a filtered water tank that spits out cold, delicious water. A majority of the bowls are between $13-16 each, which in today's foodflation economy seems expected. The good news is that the portion is substantial in every bowl. My go-to is their chirashi, which is roughly $19 but features a nice array of fish cuts that include salmon, chopped fatty tuna, masago, fresh water eel, shrimp with albacore and another dose of tuna. The unagi don is their most expensive bowl at nearly $21, but the broiled unagi with the eel sauce that is dynamite. The textures, the sweetness, and the size is all on point. And due to its status as a teriyaki city, I think the chicken teri don is an excellent alternative to all the seafood. The teriyaki hits all the right flavor notes, with just enough sweetness with the tenderness of the chicken meat. Add in another $1 and it's a spicy version. I so wish there was something like this in my neck of the woods. If I lived in Seattle, this would be a weekly destination. I'm already looking forward to my next visit(s).

The interior is beautifully decorated, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I also loved how clear and easy-to-read the menu was. Since I'd always wanted to try the daily special, I went with the Spicy Pork. I was really craving a traditional "Baekban" style meal with all the side dishes (banchan) laid out. The presentation was stunning, but the taste was just okay for me--not bad, but not particularly memorable either. However, everyone else in our group was very happy with their orders! The Veggie Bibimbap and Stone Pot (Dolsot) Bibimbap were hits, and the Chicken Katsu Curry was great, even with a little spicy kick. The Hamburger Steak was also a crowd-pleaser. It seems like ordering the individual entrees is the way to go here. It's a perfect spot for a casual meal, and the beer we ordered was incredibly crisp and refreshing. Since we had a large group, we sat outside, but the vibe inside looked lovely too. I'd definitely come back again! Perfect weather, a scenic walk, and an amazing meal to top it off.

I got the pork katsu sando and the matcha soft serve. The ice cream had a good matcha flavor and was sugary enough that my friend who doesn't care for matcha liked it enough to take a few bites. The restaurant is next to Gasworks park so we took our food over there to look at the view and picnic. I ended up going a classic pork katsu sandwich and made it a combo where I got some fries as well. It was a decently busy day, but they made sure to get the food out to us at a reasonable time. Although we didn't dine in, I did want to note that the inside was nice! There were seating options inside and outside.
