Got boneless chicken teriyaki. Almost everything about the food was solid. Salad was fresh. Rice was properly clumpy. Although it's pricey, plenty of chicken for two average stomach people. I work right across from I Love Teriyaki. Although I worked in the area for a long time, I haven't tried it until now since teriyaki is an easy dish to make and thought it's not worth paying for. I also usually eat at the company cafeteria, but on that day the cafeteria was closed. My coworker and I were forced to go get food somewhere in the neighborhood. My coworker knew the food here better than I did and suggested we split a chicken teriyaki dish. This was the correct move as we had more than enough food for the two of us with one plate. Teriyaki was ok, but I was surprised how good the quality of rice was. The rice was shiny, fluffy, and looked and tasted perfect. Came here for Sunday lunch. I ordered the chicken katsu and my husband ordered the salmon teriyaki. The chicken katsu is a standard chicken katsu and it cames with two sauces. A soy sauce based one which is very salty and a typical teriyaki katsu sauce. The salmon teriyaki was cooked fine and had a teriyaki glaze on top. It tasted like I expected. Although the portion is fairly big, I don't think the price is really worth it. I feel like you can get the same quality and size for a lot cheaper elsewhere. It didn't blow my socks off but it didn't taste bad either. There isn't really anything special about it. The salad was bland. The water station is not very obvious. It is just a water Brita pitcher behind the counter. You might have to ask for water which kind of deters people from geting it. Would I come again? No. The price was expensive for teriyaki. This teriyaki spot is very close to Gas Works Park, so a good suggestion would be to take it over to the park for a picnic. They have a small parking lot in the plaza, so it's easy to drop someone off to pick up the food. The portions are great and plenty, and the staff was friendly! However, taste wise, it was average and didn't wow me. Placed an online order for pick up, chicken teriyaki and katsu with a side of gyoza. It was very good. Katsu was tender and crispy, but not overly fried. The chicken teriyaki was moist and really good. I really liked the sauce because it was a good balance and not overly sweet. When I got to the restaurant, my order was ready to be picked up at the time they said. The lady at the front desk was really nice when giving me my order and when she was talking with the other customers. There are a couple tables but you can tell this is more of a take out place. We were in the area and knew Kenji recommended this spot, so it was a must try and we were glad we did. I was able to share the meal with my boyfriend and it was enough for us. They don't have a ton of condiment options but the beverage selection plus flavor packed food definitely fill in the gaps. Soon after moving here, I learned that Seattle is a place for teriyaki. This shall be my go-to when I'm in the Fremont area. Ordered two dishes. Both came with 2 scoops of white rice and a side salad in a separate container. The salad is mainly iceberg lettuce & dressing, nothing fancy but it helps me feel better because the cold crisp veggies add a bit of balance to all the meaty goodness in the dish. Spicy chicken- not as spicy as I would normally like, but the flavor is really nice, and it was moist. The more I ate it, the more I enjoyed it. Chicken breast & beef combo- the chicken was flavorful & juicy for being white meat. The beef was awesome. It had a similar texture & taste to bulgogi minus the onions, & since it's teriyaki, it's a different kind of sweet. I had a good amount of leftovers because they really give a lot of meat... huge plus in my opinion! You know teriyaki is great when the container it comes in feels like a solid brick. The lady at the counter was nice while also running around being busy. The price:quality AND quantity ratio are all perfect. You open the clamshell to see the most delightful pile of meat. And of course it comes with the classical teriyaki salad too. What is that dressing and why is it so good. Last time I came here was for something to eat while hanging out at fremont brewing co but this time we didn't have anywhere to be so we sat in one of 3 tables in the storefront. This was definitely not a place designed with dine-in in mind so it's nice they provide the option at all. I got the teriyaki and shrimp tempura combo. I think I like the chicken and chicken katsu combo more but you really have to commit to eating A LOT of chicken if you get that. Not that it's hard given how delicious it is. I bet you'll love I love Teriyaki. Because I love I Love Teriyaki. I love I Love Teriyaki's Spicy Chicken the most, but I love I Love Teriyaki's yakisoba and classic teriyaki too! Oh and they have pineapple Jarritos, a top contender for best soda ever, so do yourself a favor and grab one of those too. You'll be greeted in the little strip mall parking lot by the tantalizing smell of meat charring on a grill. (Kids if you're taking notes: ALWAYS follow that smell.) Their sauces are quite delicious, and the chicken has always been fresh and juicy, with a nice bit of maillard crust - the origin of that heavenly scent. The portions are generous and the staff are lovely. My one gripe would be with the side salad - the veggies are fresh and crisp, but the dressing is a bit watery and could use some help. I Love Teriyaki on Stone Way (near Gasworks park) is absolutely the best chicken katsu I've EVER had. The chicken is thick, crispy and juicy which is essential. We started going here for take out dinner during COVID because of a recommendation from a friend who loves this place. Food: We typically get spicy or regular chicken teriyaki. We've also gotten the yakisoba. It's not the best teriyaki in Seattle but it's pretty close. Value: I feel that teriyaki (just like all other foods) continues to just get more and more expensive. One of my favorite things about teriyaki is that you typically get a lot of food for your money. Even though this place's prices have gone up, you still get a good bang for your buck. Service: When picking up food, I typically ask for utensils and some extra sauce and the workers there sometimes give an annoyed look. They still gave it however so it didn't bother me too much. Was looking for Asian food while in Fremont and I Love teriyaki came up. It is very small inside but the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable running around $12 a plate. They don't skimp on the portion sizes either. I don't really like how they serve you on paper plates but I guess that is a fast easy way for clean up. There is only one trash bin by the register that was overfilled with people's plates which was unappealing. Next time I probably would order it to-go and enjoy eating at a park or near the water. I got the beef teriyaki which was good but I was hoping to have more veggies on my plate. For a quick lunch option this is a good stop. read more
