The rice and gravy was really under-seasoned and didn't have much flavor. And unfortunately, the mac and cheese was pretty underwhelming. It was very watery and lacked any flavor. But the lemon cake?! Moist, delicious, and the serving was HUGE. Definitely save room for dessert! I also ordered a side piece of fried catfish and a basket of fried okra. The catfish and the shrimp were both coated in the same light batter as the tomatoes. Like the fried green tomatoes, both the catfish on the platter and the shrimp were perfectly seasoned and cooked beautifully. The tartar sauce was rich and rich and creamy with just the right amount of tartness. The Mac-n-cheese was well seasoned and delicious, however the cheese sauce was thicker than what we prefer. The collard greens were perfection! My husband absolutely loves collard greens and is extremely picky on them yet he could not get enough of these! The red beans and rice were delicious. I would say that the balance and ratio was a bit off as the rice disappeared due to the amount of "sauce" from the dish making the bowl more of a soup. M&M seems like they can get pretty busy and can get backed up quickly both out front and in the kitchen.
