Wow it's been a minute since I've had Crazy D's Hot Chicken. The last time I had this was when there was only one location at the time near the Atlantis Casino, and here they are opened to a couple more locations. It must be that good (yes it is). We ordered the #1 Combo for my toddlers and it made it country style. My husband ordered the #3 Combo spicy level medium, and I ordered the Crazy Fries as mild. It was ridiculously bomb that my husband and I finished everything, except our kiddos (they missed out LOL). The battering is perfect, the spice level that we ask for is being met, their sauces and how they season their fries is sending me. Their chicken meat is very juicy, so like I said how they batter their chicken really compliments how well the chicken tastes and they cook it just right. Service here was friendly and quick. And I can only speak for this location (next to In-N-Out), it was a bummer that they didn't have fountain drinks, but that's ok, still giving this place a good rating. This will definitely be my go-to cheat day food place. read more

Review on same night as getting food ?! World record woohoo . Tonight we decided to do something different from some of the usual's and get some crazy d's to go. We ordered Crazy Fries Medium Heat for me , wifey got the Inferno Jalapeño smash burger , and 2 tender combo mild with fries for my son. Nick the cashier was great. Answered a couple of wifey's questions and was patient with our order. Top Notch . Said it would be about 10-15 min wait. Np Got food and took home . Wifey said her burger was really tasty . My crazy fries were delish too . Fries weren't soggy chicken was cooked perfect nice big chunks cut up on top with the sauce . Son enjoyed his tenders and fries too. Crazy D's Hot Chicken is delicious. The service is always friendly. The store is always clean. The chicken is always hot (from cooking), and there is never any weird chicken. I ordered the two strip combo medium and its the perfect amount of spice for me. The crazy Ds sauce is GOOD! The fries are so crispy! I even enjoy the pickles. Crazy hot? Yeah but don't be afraid because it's delicious. No lie. I was asked about changing my order no less than 6 times, and after watching the cook make my order with a shirt over his nose, I thought about it, but it proved to be perfect for me, just as I remembered before. Now I won't recommend crazy to anyone who says "oh I like spicy" because this is another level of heat and you need to be prepared. You'll smell it before you see it. You'll feel it before you eat it. And it'll linger with you for quite a while. But it's a pleasurable pain that builds on itself as you enjoy it, and when combined with their house sauce, it fades to the perfect background note of fire I love in spicy food. Smelling the aromas of the fiery seasoning on the ride home had me a bit teary eyed, both from the anticipation of the food I'd be enjoying and the super spice level I chose, and admittedly I was a bit nervous! That was amped up after licking my fingers from placing the giant tenders in the air fryer to warm up, being met by a wave of heat I wasn't quite ready for I guess. But after cutting the tenders up (recommended just because they're massive) I loved every bite of them! The first time we tried Cray D's what at a different location and it was not good. We tired the South Reno location this time and the food was good. Nice and crispy and the heat level was good. Although I think a lot of people will find their "mild" to be hooter than expected. Staff was fine. Some of their prices are just too high. $7.75 for one slider by itself? $13.50 for two chicken strips and fries? Might have given one more star if it wasnt for the prices. read more

Always a great choice and affordable. Excellent service, clean dining area, and spacious. The chicken is always perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I can only handle the medium level spice so far, but maybe I'll work up the ladder in the future. The mild spice level is great for anyone who can't handle spiciness on any level. It's good to try different chicken sandwich places to compare. Crazy D's has a thick, breaded chicken with a kick to it. We got the mild spice, and I can't imagine what the hot is like. Revised: Crazy D's sells fried chicken tender sandwiches. Giant spicy ones. I ordered mine mild but it was still too spicy for me. I guess I could order it without sauce next time and see if I like it. Also, I wish this chicken had a lighter batter. Usually I prefer less batter, but I'm sure others like the crunch. After thoroughly pissing myself off, trying to go to the crazy D's over on university I gave up and gave in and said F it! And tried the crazy D's on South Virginia, the young man behind the counter, a joy, professional eager to work, and I gotta say he fries a damn good piece of chicken. We had a visit while I was there waiting from a homeless disabled veteran and his dog rocky. Did the young man behind the counter begin to treat this other human being like crap no! Did he try to shoot him out of the store because it was customers there big old nope there too what he did was show kindness and compassion when you put that together with that young man's effort and work ethic, he's gonna be doing big things in this life. Love love love their chicken. Nicely seasoned and the spice is on point. I always get combo #2 medium for $15.95+tax. It's honestly a good price since it's 2 sandwiches and some fries. My husband and I always share. Their comeback sauce is so delicous, that I definitely have to order an extra. Their employees are welcoming and attend to you quickly. Disappointing. Last two times I've had Crazy D has been a let down, especially paying nearly $19 for the meal. The portion size has went down, they should change the pricing to reflect it. Crazy Mac was watery and lacked flavor. As you can see in the picture, the plate wasn't even covered. Both times the food was cold, like the Mac and cheese was in the fridge and scooped out. Big let down from a good spot. Don't know if they changed ownership or management, but quality needs to improve. read more

I drove by this place the other day and decided to try lunch. I would suggest if you get lemonade ask for "light" or no ice. No refills and for me, not worth the money. Just regular lemonade with strawberry syrup added. I can do this as home. On my combo box 2 the tenders were huge pieces, so big I wondered who would be able to bite into the chicken when it came out. Deep fried pieces this was not what I was expecting. Huge portion of fries. The pickle and slaw was on the sandwich, next time I will order slaw separately. The Mac and cheese with medium flavor chicken was good according to my wife. Also a huge portion. The restroom, only available to customers, says the sign could use a little freaking up and proper cleaning. Yum! So glad we wound up in here. We needed a quick bite while running errands and burgers sounded blah. So we decided to try somewhere we've been meaning to try forever. What took us so long?! The chicken is absolutely perfect. Moist and tender, with a delicious crunch to the breading. I don't like things spicy so I went for mild and that was just right- good flavor and just barely a hint of spiciness that I could easily tolerate. I had my chicken as a slider and even the coleslaw they put on the sandwich is delicious! The dipping sauce, however, is the clear star of the show here. I'm glad the fries were so good. I generally don't like crinkle fries but these were much nicer than any I've had and a great vehicle to get that sauce into my food hole. Good crunch, good seasoning, and dunked into that sauce? I was very excited to hear that Crazy D's would be opening a location new me! So I made sure to support their opening week... But I was quicky disappointed when I ordered a slider and the chicken tasted overly salty and was very fatty. It was so salty I was not able to eat more than a few bites and every bite had a piece of fat in it. Fast forward to this week when I decided to give this location another try. It was completely different. The chicken was seasoned just right and was lean chicken breast. I very much enjoyed it! I'm giving four stars due to inconsistency in the product. Not only at this location but at the others as well. Don't get me wrong, I love this place overall but you never know if the spice level will taste the same as last time or the buns will be as tasty as before. Ok I gotta be honest, my 1st time I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning here (likely the cheese sauce on the crazy fries), but the flavor of the chicken slider was just sooo good I decided to chance it and return again. I am glad I gave this place another try; while I've never ordered anything with that cheese sauce again o_O, the food has never let me down since. I highly recommend the combo #2 in medium (2 sliders with fries). I don't know what's happened to this place, but it's beyond unacceptable. I came in hoping for a decent meal and left wondering how it's still in business. The chicken was literally raw--pink in the middle, cold, and totally unsafe to eat. If that wasn't enough, the fries were limp and soggy, like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. And the staff? Rude doesn't even begin to cover it. No apologies, no concern, and plenty of attitude. It felt like I was inconveniencing them by just walking in and placing an order. I've seen fast food handled with more care and courtesy than this. There's no pride in the food, no effort in the service, and absolutely no accountability. This is basically a take and go place. They have a few tables and limited decorations. The chicken is large and juicy. There is no table service and sodas are by the bottle. This was my second time getting food from them. Man, every time it is just delicious! We got the combo number 1, and the crazy Mac! Just the right amount of spice and flavor to both meals. The chicken is moist, and nicely breaded. It also does not have a rubbery consistency, which most chicken that I get out tend to have. Their fries are my favorite, and taste great with their signature sauce! I am a Mac & Cheese connoisseur, and it's pretty great! The service was so quick both times we've gotten food from here. Round chicken should just not be served in a hamburger bun. Coleslaw was delicious and I could have just ordered a cup and had that by it's self. The chicken was crispy without being dry. The sauce was very yummy but not as hot as a mild would typically be. Ask for extra sauce if you like your chicken saucey. The French fries are nice and crispy and have a delicious seasoning. Service is fine, this is more of an order at the counter and sitting at the table to wait for food. Service at this style of restaurant just seem to always be Although the food was yummy this will not be a frequent for myself. The sauce on the Mac is awesome. It a large meal that two people can easily share. The person that took my order was great and explained the menu to me. The service was great!
