Editing review after speaking with restaurant. The people I spoke to were very nice and professional and offered a makeup meal. I turned down the makeup meal because I don't trust a cook who can't make a decent hollandaise (it's a very basic sauce anyone can make at home), but I've revised my rating because the customer service was as excellent as the food was awful. I cannot recommend eating here. I will not eat here again. But if you do eat here, they will be very nice about helping fix the mess the cook made on your plate. Original review: Don't order the Benedict. The hollandaise is atrocious and I think might just be mayonnaise with yellow food coloring. That's certainly what it tastes like. The eggs are fried, which is not how eggs Benedict is served in any nation on this planet. This will not satisfy your craving for an eggs Benedict, but it will make you feel very guilty to waste a plate of mediocre food. This is the only thing I tried here, and is the last thing I will try here. I don't trust a restaurant that makes a common item completely wrong. This is my "go to" place when I'm hungry for a hearty breakfast and short on time on my drive in to work. I call in my order and in 15 minutes it's ready! What I like best is that I can get an IHOP experience through the drive thru in the mornings. They have thick napkins, hearty plastic ware and the food is phenomenal! I'm so glad they took over this kitchen after the previous owners left. The restaurant is always clean. Floors look good. Fast service. You quickly identify who he owner is. He's a friendly guy that works as hard as any other person there. They will do well if they keep the pace and quality of food. Met a colleague here on a recommendation. The customer service while ordering is a friendly as one could get. I had the meatloaf lunch special, with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We sat down and minutes later our food was brought to the table. The meatloaf was moist, tender, perfectly seasoned and had gravy on top. The chef truly has a great recipe for the meatloaf because it was better than homemade! The real mashed potatoes had the same gravy. And the broccoli was freshly steamed. What a great diner. I'm fortunate enough to have Kosta's right around the corner from my office. All of us order from there regularly. Not only are the prices extremely fair, but the food is good too. My personal go-to's are the buffalo chicken sub, the grilled chicken salad, and the blue plate flounder. Each time we have ordered/dined in at Kostas (about 15 times so far), we have not had any negative experiences. I really enjoy the way the restaurant is clean and inviting. It says a lot. They have plenty of options on their menu and their price is great. Take in mind the 3 times my husband and I came to this place was in the same week so you know it is good if we keep coming back. They have a great breakfast menu and decent prices and options for lunch and dinner are good as well. For breakfast I had two eggs, bacon and hash browns. For lunch I had a crispy chicken salad with ranch, bacon (tons of it), cheese, cucumber and tomato. The salad is huge and so good Iate the whole thing at once! For dinner I had the beef tips over rice with a side salad and fried okra. Out of all my meals I enjoyed my dinner better. I love breakfast and travel frequently, so I'm always on the lookout for a good breakfast spot. Unfortunately this was not it. Staff was friendly, service was prompt, but my meal was warm at best, and there were not a lot of people there when I was so it's not like it was super busy. I had two eggs over medium, sausage, grits and rye toast. Sausage was thin, dry, and hard. Eggs were cooked as expected but oddly cold. Grits and toast were good. Coffee was good and hot. Great Classic American food! I was staying at the double tree down the street and they were charging 16.95 for a crappy buffet breakfast. So I decided to walk 10mins down to Kostas. I'm so glad I did! It was well priced. The service was great, the workers were very nice and referring to customers by name. My food was like mama made it. Highly recommend this place! read more

Kosta's Kitchen is newly opened in the building that was formerly Yorkmont Cafe. This is your typical Greek meat and three lunch type place not unlike Yorkmont Cafe. The interior and seating have been updated and looks great inside. The menu is typical lunch menu with burgers, salads, hot subs, pitas and a full breakfast menu served till 11:00. I had lunch here and had the burger with fries which was very good with fresh toppings and special sauce. Fries were from frozen but were good and not cheap krinkle cut. They have daily blue plate specials and a soup of the day as well. Both the counter person and the servers were very friendly and offered free refills on sweet tea. Most of the customer base here is the corporate crowd from the surrounding business parks having lunch. Kosta's Kitchen is a great spot for lunch or breakfast and I will be back and bring my friends. read more

Great Saturday morning spot...updated decor and menu, but still reminds you of the old Yorkmount Cafe.

Exceptionally attentive service, good enough breakfast food, overall very good experience. Location was good and a friendly staff made the trip worth it. I have eaten at Kosta's most every day for the past few weeks. They just opened and their meals are best home cooked plates I have ever had. Everything is very tasty and the vegetables are top notch. Nothing comes from a can!! I mostly get the blue plate specials and the salads. The owner and the staff are so very nice and provide customer service and quality beyond any other place I have eaten locally. I would highly recommend eating here and trying all of their meals. I have a local business in the area and when my customers that come in and ask what place to eat nearby, I always tell them to go eat at Kosta's!!! read more

Finally got over to try this place for breakfast, and it did not disappoint! Both of us were really satisfied with our meals. They have a variety of breakfast proteins, pancakes/French toast, omelettes, parfaits, etc. They even have lighter options. All of the staff checked on us to make sure we were enjoying everything, and everyone was very friendly. I also love the way they decorated the place with canvases of Charlotte throughout. Found this restaurant on Foodsby for the first time today...I tried the Spinach & Goat cheese salad. Truthfully it was very delicious. I added extra dressing just in case which I didn't use the extra because what the amount they provided was sufficient. I also added gyro meat with small pieces of turkey which were the extra prices were great compared to how much they added. I also added black olives which was perfect. We were in Charlotte for a week on business. After we found Kosta's the first time, we went back three more times. Two lunch, one dinner, and one breakfast. I only wish we had found them earlier in the week. OUTSTANDING food. Everything I had was delicious. Highly recommend the pot roast! And the people were fantastic. Every single one was so friendly and helpful. Especially Ty, Jasmine, and Emilee. They were great. We have to go back to Charlotte next month and I guarantee we will be back to Kosta's many times.
