I was in the mood for a sandwich, but my friend wanted pancakes, so we turned to Yelp in search of a brekkie spot that offered both. At 10:30 AM on a Sunday, it was packed (which is normally a good sign). We parked in an adjacent lot and walked over. When we asked the host how long we should expect to wait, he said he didn't know? We got seated at the counter, as it was available immediately there was still full menu access. Drinks came out right away, but it took 10 mins for our order to be taken and an additional 20 mins to receive our food. Decor was quaint, at least there's something nice to look at while you wait forever. I got the Veggie Cobb on their house-made white with French fries as a side and my friend had blueberry pancakes. Our server seemed to have no idea what sandwich I wanted? She kept saying "turkey cobb" until I re-opened the menu and showed her. When it finally came out, the sandwich was made with 3 pieces of bread??? And cut into small triangles??? I couldn't even eat it; the tomatoes and avocados kept falling out. On top of that, my fries were soft and bland. My friend got a stomach ache from his pancakes. We both took half of our meals to go, but ended up tossing them once we got home. At least what they lack in food quality, they make up for in portion size. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things since many others seemed to enjoy their meals here. The French Dip was bland, even au jus needed help. They had no fries and substituted warmed up frozen tator tots. The atmosphere and wait staff were pleasant, but I can see why regulars stick to a breakfast menu regardless the time of day. The little restaurant is so cute and homey. The staff was all extremely friendly and welcoming. They took out order and had our food out quickly with frequent checks on the table to be sure everything was going well and we had all we needed. I saw an irresistible picture of hot coco on the yelp IE page and had to come try it on a cold, rainy morning. The atmosphere was just perfect for a cozy, friendly little breakfast place. The interior was small and quaint with little cottage fronts on the wall decorated with little farm Knick knacks. I went by myself and the service was great! I had at least three different people stopping by to check on me and get my orders and questions answered. I got the hot coco for $3.25. It tasted just like I imagined although it was a little too large for me. They were out of marshmallows and substituted whip cream. The coffee was ok and my usual breakfast of scrambled eggs, home fries and bacon was standard. The raisin toast was two slices of buttered cinnamon roll toast bread sans the frosting. I would go back for the unique, cute atmosphere and friendly service. It's also right next to a church that I enjoyed attending after breakfast. Watch out for the parking lot when it's busy. Came in a few weeks ago. The place is a dump and smells. Please take a look for yourself. The staff is unprofessional. I went in and ordered a breakfast ham steak with home fries. Usually you sit there waiting forever for service. My order finally came out and was soggy. I told the server to put in an order for fresh ones. So the owner comes out and drops a plate of hash on my table. I told her no, I wanted what I ordered. She then said, "No, I could get something else." I just basically walked out. read more

Our experience at this location was something we have never seen before. We were helped by a Latina lady and as she was offering us a drink a older white lady walks in front of her and says "are you guys ready to order?" It was pretty obvious that she did not like the fact that we were talking to the Latina in Spanish and was a really rude move. The I came here the other morning and it was my first time. It was actually a really cute little restaurant inside. I liked the vibe. My friend and I both ordered the sausage breakfast burrito. It is massive. Definitely could have shared. My one complaint was I felt the sausage and hashbrowns were a little dry in my opinion. I put their salsa on it and it was good, but in my opinion they need hotter salsa. Again personal preference. I would come back here but maybe get something else. Been here several times before. Food and service were always enjoyable, til today. The wait staff assigned to us seemed really busy, assisting the table next to us, who seemed to be friends with her. I've been here numerous times, and each time it gets more and more disappointing. Don't let the reviews about how great the service is deceive you..odds are, those people are regulars, so the waitresses tend to them like their lives depend on it. If you're not a regular, you'll probably get stuck with the older woman who took home the gold medal at the "Worlds Most Condescending Waitress" ceremony. If I could give this place a zero I would. Rude service. I was sat down asked what I wanted to drink and I said water. Then I began to say I am ready to order but mid sentence my waitress walks off to chat with her friends that just walked in. I waited another 5 minutes for her to come back so I could order. My water came quickly due to the fact she pawned off her responsibility to the nice Hispanic woman that was working. Now to the "food". I ordered chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, hash browns and sourdough toast. Chicken fried steak came with no Gravy, couldn't chew through 75% of it due to the fact it was all tendon/stringy fat (see attached pics), soaked in grease and the batter did not even hold to the meat. It just slid right off. Piss poor quality and flavor. The scrambled eggs had shells in them. The toast was more like bread and was not "toasted" one bit. The hasbrowns were crisp on the outside but soggy and soaked in grease/oil on the inside. After pure disappointment I hung my head and walked to the register to pay (still wishing I was asked if I needed more water or at least was checked on). The nice Hispanic woman asked how everything was. I told her I couldn't even chew the food. She asked why didn't I tell my server? I replied because she came by once (about a minute after dropping my food) off and was BS-ing with the other customers. Mind you this place was pretty dead inside. She went to get the waitress to discuss the matter. Her response was why didn't you tell me? I said you didn't even come to check on me! She immediately walks away so I told the Hispanic lady "well I'm not paying if she can't even have a conversation in regards to this matter" and I walked out. Overall one of the WORST breakfast experiences in my life! Save your time, money and health. Go somewhere else! read more

Pleasantly delicious. The pumpkin pancakes were a table favorite. They were Light, fluffy, and not too sweet. The veggie omelet was tasteful. The only thing that was ok, but could be better were the eggs Benedict. The eggs were over cooked, but still delicious. The raisin bread was not too sweet and really good with their homemade jam. I've been here twice. Once in 2019 (well before the pandemic) and again today. Honestly, the only reason I went here again today was because I was getting my car worked on across the street. I live in Yucaipa so I have been around to a number of our places to compare. The food is okay, with exceptions (the chicken fried steak was rubbery and inedible) of being terrible; nothing here is great. Nowhere near as good as Clarkie's (Calimesa) or Abby's (just down the road from here) and just a little below Arthur's (Mentone) or Hill's Country Kitchen (Yucaipa). I disagree about the biscuits and gravy being "fantastic". They are okay - the biscuits are soft but largely flavorless; the gravy is watery and nothing special. I have not had the pancakes. The service is well below any other competitors - this is coming from both times (which is why I am mentioning the pandemic). Both times there were maybe 8-10 tables occupied with two servers working and a table runner (my guess the owner). Everything took way to long and multiple "flagging down" to get. Refills for coffee or water were non-existent and I had to flag somebody down. I sat waiting for even somebody to take my order for about 10 minutes after putting my menu down. On finishing, they set the check down and I put my credit card ontop as they put it on the table. Then I waited for over ten minutes for somebody to pick it up. I finally flagged down another server who then told me that I had to "take it up to the counter" - information that would've been nice to have been told at the beginning. read more

First time there and the waitstaff was awesome. I was just getting the car smog checked at the awesome Yucaipa Smog station and decided to venture over. Gotta tell you the smell of fresh breakfast was divine. I ordered up a side of hash browns and bacon. You can choose two or four pieces of bacon. The woman taking my order said their bacon was delicious, so I went ahead and bought the 4. Well, my hash browns were great but the bacon was delicious! Perfectly cooked and not overly salty or fatty. Thank you guys! Got a couple cherry pies to go. I'm looking forward to enjoying one later. This has to be one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to if not the worst. Like other reviewers have pointed out they don't like to service people that aren't white. We're a Hispanic family of 3 and it took them forever to get us seated. We were ignored by the staff most the time and the food was total crap. Will never go back to this super racist place. This just confirms the rumors about Yucaipa and leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. Stay away and don't support this racist business. I cannot believe in 2024 a place like this is even open. read more

Our family has been eating at Kopper Kettle for years and we love it just as much now as we did then. This place is a Yucaipa staple, not just for residents either! The same folks have been working here for years and we get the warmest welcomes every time we walk in. Biscuits and gravy are hands down the best I've ever had and I literally cannot go there without ordering it. They make it with bacon, guys! The coffee is always good too, which means a lot to a coffee addict like myself. ;-) They've also done a great job at accommodating the Covid-19 requirements and we have been able to enjoy our long-loved breakfasts a few time since their reopening! read more

The sandwiches (Thanksgiving Melt and California Melt) , the lasagna soup and potato salad (that came with the sandwiches) were all great. I would give zero stars if I could. We used to love this place, but no so much anymore. Today we arrived, after a modest wait, we were seated in a corner. Two people quickly offered us drinks, they were delivered promptly. That's the end of the service we received. After 15 minutes of waiting, we left $5 for the coffee and left. No one came for our order. To top it off, the bathroom was disgusting. There was soiled toilet paper on the floor, the dusty decorations had all fallen, and the paper towel dispenser was empty. It begs the question, where does the staff wash their hands after using the restroom?? The restaurant has fallen into complete ill repair and is very dirty. The dining chairs have zero padding left because they are so old. It's a shame that a restaurant that once had the best pancakes is now lacking service and needs a good, old-fashioned cleaning. Raisin french toast with rum butter syrup with 2 eggs and bacon. Everything was overcooked except the eggs that were watery from the uncooked whites. Chicken fried steak with home fries, eggs, and a biscuit and gravy. Steak was hard and rubbery, home fries were soggy- I guess the forgot the fry part and they brought out a biscuit with no gravy but topped with a huge dallop of butter so we had to request the gravy. The owner did, and then about 15-20 minutes after we ordered we still have no food so we asked and the owner was not very sympathetic. Simply said "we are busy, it's coming". Over about a 10 minute period our food was brought out plate by plate, no one received their complete order at once, everyone in our party got their food at different times. I wish I would have read the bad reviews before coming here. It seems like many Hispanic families experienced a similar situation as my family and I did today. We waited approx 45 minutes for a table to not get service. The waitress didn't bother to take our order nor offer drinks, kept going around us attending to other white families who were seated after us, offering crackers to their white kids and babying them.. mind you, we had kids too. I kept trying to catch their attention but it seemed they purposely kept turning their heads... After waiting 20 mins we walked out.. Highly recommend the raisin bread french toast! The butter rum "syrup" compliments it perfectly. The biscuits were very fresh, jam was very tasty, and the eggs Benedict were great too.
