Koko's was a fun surprise. We were lucky to get a table on a Saturday night. When we walked in, we had to wait a bit to get our table but the wort wasn't that bad. Overall, the place gave a nightclubs vibe cz it was loud and they were playing loud party music. We expected the place to be more a cozy restaurant. The ambience was nice, very upscale and very Mexico. Our server was extremely sweet and friendly. We ordered the mezcal old fashioned and the Catskills for our drinks and both were really good. For our apps, we ordered the Mexican street corn. It was good, but not super great! We then ordered some portobello tacos and some carne en morita. The mortina had a strong flavor of one spice but was overall delicious. The tacos were great too. I will definitely be back!
I had my bday brunch here with my colleagues and it was a great time! My colleague did a reservation over the phone and said they needed her card on file for incidentals. If the whole party didn't show, we would be charged $20 per person. Their OpenTable platform said this counts if it's 10+ ppl for the $20 charge so it was a little confusing since my party was less than 10. Other than that, we were not charged so it was great! The ambience is SO pretty! They had the Christmas decors up to with huge nutcrackers and Santa's sleigh! The chips were fresh and were hot which was nice! Salsa was good and the shrimp ceviche as a starter was a delight! I got the carajillo coffee which was outstanding! And the huevos rancheros, the spice was just right. They have a breakfast menu!!! And pretty cocktails!!! I'd come back again! My colleagues had a marvelous time!
A nice Mexican restaurant in Capitol Hill. I went here for Sunday dinner and it was not busy, but reservations are suggested. The decor here is pretty colorful and ornate. We sat near the bar high top and ordered Mexican corn and poblano cashew enchilada with carnitas. Both dishes were enough for 2 people to share. The Mexican corn is fairly standard, with cotija and some chips to supplement the dish. Portions were quite decent and the corn was fairly good. The cheese is nicely melted for that nice long cheese pull. The poblano cashew enchiladas were very delicious. After all, people say that's the dish that makes them stand out. There are 3 pieces of enchiladas with a generous amount of carnitas. There's also some pickled onions and other fixings to enhance the dish. The sauce was rich yet not too heavy. Service was really good. They checked up on us once in a while and ensured prompt water refills. The whole experience from the food to the decor to the service, is top notch and worth the above average price tag.
A great Mexican restaurant to try! I highly recommend going during their happy hour. Their regular hour is modestly pricey, however, during happy hour they got some good deals! I had their carnitas tacos and it was pretty good. The meat was prepared nicely and the tortilla was freshly made. The sauces that came with it was tasty as well. I also had their platanitos and they were pretty good as well! The service was good. The host was nice and helpful, and answered any questions I had. The food didn't take that long to make as well. The ambiance was good! It was nicely organized and decorated. There are plenty of seatings as well.
TLDR: the price tag is an accurate reflection of the appearance (decor & plating), but not an accurate representation of the food quality or the service. We saw raving reviews of this restaurant so stopped by for some good Mexican food with good ambiance. Service was fast but our waiter very much carried a vibe of "I hate my job". Bathroom was downstairs behind a long flight of stairs, so beware if you need accessible accommodation. When looking at the menu we were immediately shocked by the price - a guacamole w/ chips appetizer is $18. We wondered if it came in humungous portion to justify the insane price, until we saw it on our neighbor table - it was moderate amount at the most. Would probably cost $5 to make at home, and cost $12 at any other restaurants. We got a Koko's burrito and a carnitas Benedict. The food was overall fine, but wow the portion was tiny. I finished my $20 carnitas Benedict 5 minutes after it was served, bc they were literally bite-sized (see photos). Also, there were multiple eggshell pieces in the Benedict... Our waiter never returned to refill our water, and they had the audacity to set the default tipping options on the payment device to 22%, 25%, or higher...
such a cute spot for delicious mexican food and tasty cocktails in seattle. the vibes are definitely more upscale and moody, so this is one of those places that i'd say is good for a girls night out, date night, or just showing visitors around. service is great, our waiter was super sweet and helpful. the staff also cleared our table pretty swiftly and even offered us new plates at one point, which i really appreciated. one of my friends also came here for her birthday and she got a little something on the house, so i can definitely say service is top-notch! foodwise, even though koko's is more expensive than your average mexican spot (you're totally paying for ambiance and service too though), the portions are heaping. i barely finished my enchiladas and all of my friends took their meals to-go. (those burritos are massive omg.) the mole enchiladas were SOOO good, as were the cashew poblano enchiladas. their sauces are so yummy and the presentation was on-point for both enchiladas. i also had a bite of my friend's carne en morita which is a slow cooked pork dish, and i was obsessed. the only thing i'd say to pass on would be the tacos. drinks were also great and had amazing presentation. i was very satisfied with my carajillo and my friend's passion fruit mojito was also very tasty (you could NOT taste the alc in it i swear) overall, koko's is a great spot if you're looking to dress up for a cute night out but also craving some tasty mexican food.
The food and service here is impeccable!! We had the absolute best time. Best restaurant quesadilla I have ever had, crispy and on a delicious blue corn tortilla. The homemade chips and salsa were some of the best I've ever had. Their alcoholic beverages are delicious, strong and well presented. We loved the decor and lighting in the restaurant. It was Christmas themed at the time and was so much fun.
had a great experience here! the cashew poblano enchiladas had a very unique flavor profile that i quite enjoyed and the steak in it was well cooked. i think a real highlight of this spot is its ambiance and service, such an upscale interior with nice servers. in my opinion, the food to portion ratio was reasonable for some items like the burrito, but for others it definitely waned more pricey than i personally would like, but overall, i think the presentation of the food and drinks was incredible and everything i had was quite tasty. drinks-wise, i had a mango mocktail off the N/A menu which was excellent, if a touch tart, and a mexican coke, classic, but of course the real highlight is their margaritas and cocktails. overall: 8.75/10 taste: 9/10 price: 8/10 experience: 9/10
Wait Time: We had a reservation for 15 people on a Wednesday night for a birthday dinner. We arrived a few minutes early but were asked to wait outside even though our table was clearly ready. When we asked if a few of us could grab a drink at the bar while waiting, the host said no, which was disappointing. Ambiance: The space is super cute--chic, trendy, and definitely gives off Mexico resort vibes. It's a great spot for photos and group gatherings, but I wish the overall experience matched the aesthetic. Food: The ahi tuna tostadas and chicken tortilla soup were delicious, but our steak and fish tacos arrived cold. It took a long time for food to come out, and the tacos didn't taste as fresh as we hoped. On the plus side, the cocktails were great--just slow to arrive. Customer Service: Service was very slow throughout the night. The server mixed up my fish tacos with a friend's shrimp tacos, which could have been dangerous since I'm allergic to shrimp. Thankfully, I caught the mistake in time. Overall, the service didn't live up to the expectations set by the vibe, especially with the pricing.
We found koko's because my wife is on a never ending hunt for dope al pastor tacos and i saw this place had a high rating. The Yumz: Al Pastor Tuna Tacos - 5 star Elote - 5 star Pablano Cashew Enchiladas - 5 star Churros - 5 star Tuna Tostadas - 4 star Frida - Cuteness is 5 star but taste is 3 star The Backstory: How we selected Koko's I prewarned her, "Their al pastor are tuna based". She goes "lets look for something else" But i wanted to go. So i pulled up two other places that were probably border line condemned by the heath inspector. #strategy She goes "lets try Koko's". We got lucky with parking. Didn't have a reservation and got lucky there too because the place was full, tunes were flowing, people looked nicely dressed (chic but not over the top), and the place itself was cute AF (thanks for actually putting thought into the flow and ambiance of your restaurant) Our server was fantastic too (with the recommendations and personality). Just an all around awesome meal. We've been back 3x since. Shes also had several girl nights here with latin friends from miami who give it their stamp of approval. Its a vibe. Go immediately. Oh and if your credit card is linked to a mileage program you get airline miles on your dine too.
Everything was 5/5. My gosh. This might be one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. The chips were fried fresh and paired perfectly with the salsa. The enchiladas were absolutely perfect. The sauce was different than most - full of different flavors that all complimented each other great. My family loved their carne asada plate. I didn't try it but it looked so tasty. The margaritas + mojito were also so delicious! I loved the flan. It's thicker than most, but not super sweet. The churros were also thick and came out pretty hot. The churros dipped into the chocolate sauce was a great end to our dinner. This restaurant is a little pricey but perfect for special occasions.
This place is great. It was decorated for dia de los muertos and is really cool on the inside. I sat at the Paloma which was amazing. My friend had a jalapeño margarita and she loved it. I also had the sashimi appetizer which was great. I highly recommend and would return

Arrived a little after 9pm- Yeah When I say this place is a VIBE.. I mean it with my soul! Upon entering, the staff was friendly and very knowand took down my information to reserve my table. I was assured it would be a few minutes, and indeed, it was wild, waiting. The host, continued to communicate on the progress of the table. We needed a table for 4. We were promptly attended to and greeted by our server. I ordered a traditional Mexican drink, called the Paloma and they are not stingy with their alcohol ! They brought us chips and salsa that were so good. We had to ask for seconds. Food came out in a timely manner. All staff from the hostess, our server the busing staff were all so friendly! Entire restaurant was filled with trending music, the lighting was perfect, the decor was on point. Definitely coming back again. *Critiques - *It took a little while for the server to come and take our order. (Understandably it was a little busy) * it took a little while for our server to collect our payment. (Again understandably it was busy) * parking was a little difficult, There are a lot of late night eateries in bars along the same street . * not so much a critique, but just for the information the bathroom is outside of the restaurant near the hostess area. You have to go downstairs to what I believe may be a shared bathroom with other businesses.. read more

Went to Kokos for the first time yesterday, and it was delicious. We weren't that hungry so we just ordered drinks, Mexican corn, and the flautas to share. Each item was about $15-$18, def not that expensive as I thought. The only problem I had was I reserved for bar seating, and they sat us down right next to the entrance, next to the DJ booth, and it was so loud, but it was okay!. Our waiter, Angel, was the most nicest human being, gave us free chips, and checked on us continuously! Thank you Angel! Will be back with girlfriends. read more
The food wasn't anything spectacular. The inside is pretty nice, it looks like somewhere Love Island would be filmed. I came here for a birthday brunch and made a reservation online for 7. The brunch food was all pretty expensive and very small portions. They did ask if we were celebrating a special occasion, but then said they couldn't do a complimentary dessert per their policy. Which I thought was really weird, especially considering we spent like $400 there. I don't think I'd come back. Service was nice though. read more

Came in from California and chose this restaurant to celebrate my best friend's 25th birthday, and we were instantly greeted by Alex who not only sat us down earlier than our reservation time but was also so nice throughout our visit. Great customer service, yummy food, and the cutest drinks! Would come again read more

Surprisingly, the rice and beans were really good. The tacos were $19 for two..that was a slap. On top of that it was meh. Meat was a little dry for me. Tacos Chukis' tacos were way better. I wouldn't order tacos from here again until they change it to 3 tacos. The service was amazing and staff was friendly. The ambiance made you feel like you were on vacation. It was relaxing and the staff dressed that way as well. The place is clean and lots of natural light coming in. Guacamole was $12 and the bottle of coke was $4 to give you an insight price wise. Btw the guacamole is plate thing is only half full. The bottom half of it is solid black they just opened about 2 weeks ago. I'd personally stick to Fogon unless I want to relax and not care too much about food. read more

Koko's is an absolute must!! I was visiting my good friends and they brought me to dinner here and everything was AMAZING!! From the moment we walked in the hostess greeted us and it was such a warm welcome. Then Gibran came to our table to say Hi and introduced Alexi (partner). I honestly felt like family, which is such a rare feeling these days at restaurants. If I was in Seattle I would probably be here every week lol. Besides the amazing food and customer service, the restaurant's atmosphere is such a vibe! The next time I come I will definitely request the window seat :) I already told my friends that every time I come to visit, they will be bringing back..... mmmmkay! read more

Found this new Mexican spot in Capitol Hill. The ambience here is truly one-of-a-kind, setting it apart from other restaurants in Seattle. Our server was exceptional--she provided us with fantastic recommendations and was incredibly attentive and warm throughout our visit. We got guacamole and chips, salsa trio, chicken empanada, Poblano enchiladas, and tuna tartare. Every dish was a flavor sensation. Their cocktail list is impressive, and they can make most of them into mocktails, which is a fantastic option. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and eagerly anticipate my next visit. read more

I love the vibe and decor of this place. I've gone twice in the past couple of weeks and it's very busy on Saturday nights, so make a reservation. This is the place to be. The food is very good. I appreciate that they have vegan and gluten free options. I got the vegan Mexican enchiladas. They were so good. The chips and salsa are excellent. The staff are super nice. I highly recommend this place. It's good for groups, date night and celebrations. read more

We tried this restaurant last night without a reservation. While waiting for our table, we ordered two drinks, and they were outstanding--not only delicious but also beautifully presented. For the main course, we had the chicken quesadillas and carne asada pupusas. The quesadillas were incredibly tasty and flavorful, but the pupusas were just okay. It might be because it was our first time trying them, and they just didn't suit our taste. Overall, a nice experience with some standout moments. read more

Wow! What a great restaurant! When we first walked in we immediately forgot about the rain. The ambiance was great, the decor, lighting, music, and the real plants, felt like we were on vacation. We were first greeted by the friendly staff who sat us in the booth. Jonsi served our table, and did a wonderful job making us feel at home, attentive, and always checking in on us. We all started with drinks, very tasty margaritas and mojitos (large glasses which is always a plus). Followed by chips, salsa, and guacamole which are all made fresh in house. The chips were crunchy and warm! All of the food was delicious! For apps we ordered the chicken empanadas, and shrimp ceviche. I ordered the prawn tacos which were crunchy as well (served as two tacos) this came with a side of rice and black refried beans. My friends ordered the Salvadorian enchiladas, chicken quesadilla, and burrito gordo. All large portions and worth it! Not one bad dish on the table, we are definitely going back and can't wait to try the other dishes! read more

This was my wife and I's first time to Koko's. Actually it was our first time in Seattle! We went there on our honeymoon (yes we know it's a weird place for a honeymoon but we had our reasons haha). We wanted good Mexican food and saw good reviews online, so we figured we'd check it out. Everything was amazing! We sat up at the bar where Moncé took care of us. She made the experience 5 star. The chips and salsa, drinks, and the food was so good. The presentation of each was perfect. Moncé gave us the right amount of space while providing excellent service. She surprised us with a little dessert in the end to congratulate us, and we thought that was so sweet. We recommend checking this place out and letting Moncé take care you! read more

I've had a large group dinner, several smaller group (3-5 people lunches) and dinners. It's a fabulous restaurant with amazing drinks, fresh food (even the tortillas are fabulous), vegan options (I'm vegan). The food is beautifully plated and deliciously prepared. The service is great also. I love a slightly spicy drink and their jalapeño margarita is phenomenal! I highly recommend you try this restaurant is you haven't been. I live in Las Vegas but make it a point to dine at Koko's whenever I visit Seattle. read more

Ambiance: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Food: 9/10 My favorite was the coconut flan! Creamy thick texture with the mint, strawberry/blueberry paired great with the coconut flakes. Poblano enchilada was delicious! The chicken was flavorful and rich sauce which complimented well with the corn and pickled onions. My boyfriend would ve like it more if it had more spice. Maybe ask for hot sauce if you wanted some spiciness to it. Tuna shrimp ceviche tartare was very refreshing and light! I enjoyed the soy and vinegar acidic flavor with the tuna and shrimp on the warm, crispy tostada! read more

Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. The food is excellent, met the nicest server ever (Shoutout Jonathan!- GIVE HIM A RAISEEEEE!!!!!) who made this place such a freaking vibe! Also the bartenders were exceptional, leaving me astounded. Love this place. As far as food goes, I cannot stress how well made the food here is. The chips and guac were fresh, and I could eat the Mexican enchiladas forever! Took my friends here and they loved it here, feels like you're really in a tropical fever dream read more
