What a blessing they didn't have any room. We were seated immediately on the first floor. We sat in front of the window which was great for people watching. The waiter came over offered drinks is and I asked for suggestions. He took his time giving suggestions for seafood, meat or veggie dishes. We started the meal off with ceviche with green sauce. Apparently the green sauce is a bit more spicy. It was amazing. We then tried new to us dishes. Hit the spot. Thankful we went out of our comfort zone. Waiter offered dessert. The churros looked amazing. I did however ask if they were homemade. He said it is the one item that unfortunately is not made in house. We opted to pass. I will be back here again. Many times!!!

So when we first came here, I felt a little guilty--as if I was cheating on Ruth's Chris, especially since there's one in Seattle! But this place completely won me over. Every time I visit, I try a different cut of steak, and not a single one has disappointed me. They're all incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the Caesar salad. They prepare it fresh right at your table, which is fun to watch, but for my taste, it's a bit too fishy because of the amount of anchovies they use. That's just a personal preference, though. The service is always amazing, no matter which location you visit. The atmosphere also varies from restaurant to restaurant, giving each one its own unique character and charm. So yes--this place gets a 1000% recommendation from me! If you're a steak lover, it's absolutely worth a visit. (or a mocktail in my case!)

Nice friendly service but a bit almost panicked seeming. They made a fuss for a joint BD/anniversary celebration. Ah, but the cheesy piano player with cheesy '80s Yacht Rock tunes. The whole Gaucho experience felt so Eighties that I sort of expected to look across the table and see giant shoulder pads on my wife. Food was good and server was nice (he was very clear that no additional gratuity was expected but we gave him another chunk because we always tip more than their service charge). Upshot: El Gaucho wasn't a ripoff, but I doubt we'll rush back.

Just glancing at the menu during a stroll in Cap Hill interested me and I wanted to give this place a try. Paid a visit on a Friday around 6PM and was able to get a table fairly quickly. There are parking garages in the building that Nue is located at, though I am not sure about parking validation. There should be plenty of street parking as the restaurant is located more on the outskirts of Cap Hill. I got to the restaurant via a 10 minute walk from the nearest light rail station. Service was a bit slow when went, I think after we were seated, there unfortunately were two large groups that can in afterwards. We had to flag down the service workers to place our order and get the check. As for the food, it came out after 10 minutes one at a time. The restaurant itself is decorated nicely, lots of memorabilia from various countries and even the check came out in a passport-esque binder. We got a couple of things, which I'll review down below: Carribean Pineapple Cornbread ($8): Tasty cornbread that has nice coconut flakes spread through the batter and around the cornbreads. The cornbread was moist and there is a pineapple undertone in the flavor profile. One downside was that the quantity is quite small, I think for the price, you get like 2 3x3 squares of cornbread, which I think is unfortunately not enough as an appetizer even. Chengdu Wings ($24): These wings do have a tasty flavor profile and have a fragrant aroma when you bite into them. The batter is crispy and they are pleasing to eat! Once again, I unfortunately think the suffers in terms of quantity - you maybe get like 3 wings for $24, which I personally think is a very steep price for fried chicken wings, regardless of the flavor profile. I understand that not everyone can handle very spicy flavor, and personally think that despite the name being Chengdu Wings, it serves as a good entry to Sichuanese cuisine for people given the motivation of the restaurant. Malaysian Dhal ($22): A pleasant dish that has a fragrant coconut, lime, and lemongrass flavor that represents the flavors of Malaysia well. The stew has a pleasant consistency and each bite coats your tongue with the fragrant flavors. The roti is flaky on the outside and soft on the inside - perfect for enjoying this dish. African Bunny Chow ($24): Probably the most filling dish that we have ordered at Nue - I think if you are hungry, maybe go for this one. There is a decent amount of meat in this dish, and the flavors are tasty - it feels like a slightly more toned down Dhal in terms of fragrance, but has a pleasant thicker consistency. In the end, I think Nue is better served as a Tapas-esque restaurant than a place you would visit if you are hungry. Prices vs. quantity does suffer quite a bit at Nue unfortunately, which is why I think it serves as a place to sample cuisines in a night out and then maybe visit elsewhere to complete your dinner. The food is flavorful and pleasing to the general audience, which is a good thing for people who generally aren't very adventurous in their culinary horizons. I'm not sure I would revisit, but I would definitely recommend this to people that lean more on the safer side of dining out.

Make sure to get there before rush hour or yall be waiting for an available seat. We waited for about 10 mins for a table to open up. Not bad! 2.) all orders happen at the bar. Food and drinks. S/O to the bartenders for being awesome! My partner and I got the Diavolo & Bolognese and it was 10 out of 10! Highly recommend!!!

It was partly on me for not looking into Donna's beyond "I'm in the mood for pasta and this place…read morehas a pasta menu that sounds good," but I wasn't expecting this place to be a loud, packed-shoulder-to-shoulder bar. Because that's what Donna's is, a bar that serves food. So go in with the right expectations, and your expectation should be that you're not going to get a table or a seat at the bar unless you come early or get lucky. You place all food and drink orders at the bar with the bartender, who, on the night that I went (it was either a Friday or Saturday), was super chill and helpful. Then you go and hope you can find somewhere to sit and eat. The waiter, who was rushing around and desperately trying to avoid making eye contact, wasn't much help when I asked him what he recommends that I do if I still don't have somewhere to sit once the food comes out. He actually had a bit of an attitude that I didn't care for. The universe decided to smile upon me this night and the Harry Potter-esque under-stairwell cupboard seating suddenly opened and I swooped on it before anyone else could. I had a little table built in beneath the staircase leading upstairs and a bench seat to people watch from (well, as much as I could see while sitting recessed back into my nook, but I was just happy for the privacy and seat away from everyone else). If you're going to order food, either make sure you've got a seat first or take it to go. I ordered the black pepper fettuccine and added chicken, along with an order of the fresh baked bread with thot sauce and one scoop each of the sorbet and gelato of the night (I can't remember which was which but one was peach and the other was huckleberry). From the bar, I got the Golden Tempo cocktail: white rum, uruapan, thai tea, pineapple, lime, and coconut. The pasta was delicious and was an extremely generous portion. This was definitely shareable. I could've done without the bread and wouldn't order it again, and definitely wouldn't order the thot sauce again. It was just a garlicky, oily mess that didn't add anything to the bread and wasn't very good. Both the sorbet and gelato were fantastic and the highlight of the meal for me. Generous scoops that weren't too sweet. But the Golden Tempo was just ok. I didn't end up finishing it. I was definitely on the upper end of the average age of the patrons here; there didn't appear to be anyone over the age of 35 outside of the bartender and kitchen staff. No one was a jerk or anything, but having a meal to yourself and drinking with nothing but people who are still in college (while college was a lifetime ago for me now) just feels a little weird. Again, this place is tiny: it's narrow, two stories, and the second story is more of a loft than anything. So if pounding music, loud crowds, tight spaces crammed with people, and being bathed in red light all night isn't your thing, skip Donna's. The pasta was tasty but wasn't good enough to recommend going out of your way for it, but if you do find yourself here with nowhere to sit, just take your food to go and finish your drink leaning against a wall before you head out.

UBE FRENCH TOAST - 5/5 I absolutely loved the French toast. The top and bottom had a perfectly crispy, crunchy exterior while the inside stayed soft and fluffy. The ube filling was light, creamy, and not overly sweet--I think it's made with cream cheese? It was the perfect balance of flavors. BREAKFAST MAC & CHEESE - 4.8/5 The mac & cheese was incredibly addictive and loaded with mushrooms, ham, and crispy hash brown bits. The flavors worked really well together. My only small complaint is that it was a little on the salty side. If it were slightly less salty, it would be perfect. We visited on a Sunday with a reservation, though there were still a few open tables around 2 PM. I highly recommend sharing your dishes since each one is pretty rich on its own. Pairing a sweet dish with a savory one made for the perfect meal!

The food was all very pretty and portion sizes were large! We were aware of this before coming through reading other people's online reviews, but the Ube French Toast tasted primarily of cream cheese. There's virtually no ube taste other than the ball of ube jam (?) ontop. This wasn't the biggest issue for us but I could see it devastating someone who came for a sweet creamy ube flavor explosion. I think with a menu like this, with a lot of creamy heavy items, having some fruit elements would've went a long way for me... The flavor combinations weren't really for me but I think they make sure to add many elements to each of their menu items to create a pretty comprehensive experience. So even though I didn't enjoy the taste of the food that much, I can definitely see other's enjoying it depending on their preferences and I do think they do the brunch concept justice. As a result I'll still give 4 stars. I don't think it wow'd me where I'd give it 5/5, its not a Seattle highlight restaurant I'd recommend to people visiting for 3-4 days.
