3.75/5: Rounded up to 4 since price was reasonable and people working were nice. Fast service. I initially got my beef bowl without rice but when I tried to eat it, it was so salty so I asked for rice and they accommodated me. I appreciated that. Rice needs to be less dried.

Came here during work lunch break with a colleague. We walked across the street and decided on Koja to try. They were not busy. We ordered our food on their kiosk. Our food came out quick and we decided to eat there instead of taking it to go. The interior is clean, quiet, and a small footprint place. It was great and minimal interaction with any staff. Will come back again to try other food items.

I remember trying KoJa Kitchen back when they were just a food truck! Glad they have an actual restaurant to eat their food! I have eaten here many times, and always love their KoJas. I have tried The Original KoJa, the Beef KoJa, and the Braised Pork KoJa. All of them are good. I love the garlic rice buns especially when it's nice, golden, and crispy! Their Kamikaze Fries and their Umami Fries are good as well! I haven't tried anything else, but would go back and try other things on their menu.

Food- I had the original koja today and it is so delicious, the meat was juicy and flavorful, while the rice buns complemented them, adding a crisp, garlicky flavor profile. I also got the Kamikaze Fries, which were alright. I felt like that they were a bit soggy and the inside felt a bit mushy, but the flavor complemented it. Rice burger - 10/10 Kamikaze Fries- 6.5/10 Service - The people over there are calm and friendly, as they know exactly what you like to order. Ambience - I like how chill the atmosphere is and how convenient it is situated near Whole Foods. The furniture and décor makes it feel like a modern, homey experience.

We placed some items from their menu for Togo- BEEF BOWL Korean BBQ beef, sautéed onions, red sauce, kimchi, green onions, masago, sesame seeds, fried onions BRAISED PORK BOWL Miso-coconut braised pork, garlic aioli, kimchi, green onions, masago, lemon wedge, fried onions KAMIKAZE FRIES Crisscut waffle fries, minced korean bbq beef, kimchi, red sauce, japanese mayo, green onions We loved it as always will get it again when we are back there...

Amazingly delicious!! I finished my whole meal and want to plan another time to visit again. A few seats inside as well as out. They are located in a busy area but do have tons of parking close to other common places. Not hard to find. We came in to order and it seems like they just take mobile orders since we ordered over a screen. A lot of pick up came so pretty popular which I understand because the food was so good. It's really nice that they have the restaurant beautifully decorated, I personally think that drives in customers to check the place out. But I definitely say the food will bring people back.

Did takeout lunch from this location and it was easy to order online, and the food was ready on time with pleasant, efficient service. I was a little skeptical about the California spam musubi, but it's surprisingly worked with the avocado and imitation crab on top of crisped up spam and sticky rice. I only wish I had some soy sauce to use as a dipping sauce. The short rib bowl contained a healthy portion of rice and lightly dressed salad, with a decent portion of chunks of marinated short ribs, which had a good flavor, but we're not as tender as I had hoped. I added an egg that I would be over easy but there was almost no yolk and it was definitely well cooked. The accompanying mild Kim Chi was good and complemented the rest of the flavors.

Came here with my kid for the second time and we really enjoyed the food. We ordered from the kiosk up front so we didn't have any interaction with the cashier staff. The kiosk is easy to use but if I remember correctly I couldn't find description of ingredients on the order pages. Chicken teriyaki bowl 4.5/5 Kid really likes it. The chicken is moist and pretty decent size for the price. Fries is a bit overdone. It was chewy. Kimchi was really really good (I stole a piece). Veggies were fresh Tuna salad bowl 5/5 Everything was fresh Dressing/sauce is very good. Seaweed salad, surimi , edamame, wonton strips and veggies. With tuna and sauce. I enjoyed every bite. I took a star because I was notified on my phone that my food was ready. But when I went to pick up they couldn't find my order. Then said they're still waiting for a new batch of rice. Which is totally ok but it was strange that the system flags it as completed when it's not. Overall it was a nice dinner. The place is not big, so on busy time it'll be difficult to find a table. There are probably 7 tables inside and a couple outside. So be prepared to do a takeout if it's busy.

I probably come here with my bf for takeout once a month after work around 5:00. Every time I come the parking situation is tough. Despite a big parking lot, there must just be a lot of popular stores cause I generally have to kick my bf out while I idle in the corner of the lot. However the food itself is great. Their original Koja sandwich is super tasty. I've added egg before for that extra protein but I must say the egg is too soft to survive the crispy rice buns. When I bite into the sandwich the liquid if the egg gets everywhere, but it's just so tasty. I usually get their chicken or crispy chicken bowl, sometimes with salad instead of rice and add an egg and sometimes avocado (what can I say gotta add all the colors haha). These bowls taste great fresh though once they cool down their flavor fades quickly. I don't fault them for this because part of the charm of the bowl is the difference in temperature between the greens and the chicken/rice, so if you're ordering with the intention of having leftovers I'd just caution you to not expect much from the leftovers. I always order the kamikaze fries and sometimes also the umami fries. Both are so addicting but I'd have to say there's something about the sweetness of the Korean bbq beef that whispers in my ear to order it every time I'm in Koja. Would recommend the kamikaze fries.

Had lunch here a couple of weeks ago, and it's the Umami Fries that stick out in my good food memories! Love the miso-coconut drizzled over tender pork and crispy waffle fries. My beef bowl and everything else was overshadowed by the fries! Nothing wrong with everything else, just faded in my memory. My sis and cousin found their Strawberry Mango Mint lemonade too sweet. They had to water them down, but they still weren't as refreshing as expected. Ambience was casual. Service was a bit slow, but we filled that time with bonding and catching up. :-)

I've tried the food truck in SF so I was interested in trying it at the Dublin location on my lunch break. It is a fusion style cuisine so be prepared for that. Being of korean background I tend to prefer the authentic flavors but they do petty good with their selection of bowls, sandwiches and tacos. One thing to note is that you will find the flavor profiles to be more on the sweet side. especially with their sauces and marinades. I'm sure there is a huge demographic that loves this style of cuisine though. My last visit I had the beef bowl and Kamikaze fries (I was hungry). Again, tasty but the marinade was pretty sweet. The interior is interesting, strong bay area vibes with a mix of down home style. Cool, but interesting. Just a heads up, if you come to the Dublin location, parking can be pretty chaotic. It's a high volume, high traffic area with smaller spots so I would park farther than usual and get a couple steps in lol. In closing, yes I will go back and it may be a good introduction for someone that has never had Korean/Japanese food.

Shinkai does-- automatic plus for me. I ordered the Sushi Crafter Box and salivated as it being walked over to my table. It looked so satisfying that I didn't even want to dig in. But of course I had to. It was incredible! I normally don't love fatty tuna because the texture can be inconsistent and veiny but it was soft and not veiny at all! My fiance ordered 2 rolls, and a sashimi appetizer and loved it all. We were able to share everything we ordered and both left very satisfied. Flavors and seasoning all balanced well, they put shiso leaf bits in between under the typically gamier fish and rice. Savory roe bits dot the top of some of the stronger tasting fishes. And 8pc were only $40. Salmon rolls (salmon salmon) and (orange ocean) were both good. Nice citrus hit in orange ocean but doesn't overpower - salmon salmon roll had good crisp and umami from the fried skin. The sashimi platter was solid - nothing that blew my mind but it was pretty good quality fish, only minor complaint was it was cut into oddly shaped chunks and not consistent in texture between each bite Also they gave a LOT of plum wine, not skimpy at all!

It used to be you can only join where you come near the restaurant. It must be only for busy days like Mother's Day? There was a sheet offering specials for Mother's Day, cocktails, mocktails, a kurobuta pork belly and 2 desserts. We ordered our usual fare. Great service by Ariel, she handled everything as a pro, even with the crazy business. Food came out with no delay. The only change that we noticed id the teriyaki beef. The rib eye was usually so tender and juicy, everybody that we invited here were amazed how tender and great they were. Yes, we came here quite often, and brought every and all out of town guests here. But today they were tough, on the dry side, even though cooked Rare and MediumRare. All 3 steaks. So disappointed. We finished with the Biscoff cookie sundae, which they had for Valentine, a tempura fried ice cream dessert with crumbles of Biscoff cookies and caramel drizzles. So good. The fried oysters were also a great size and came with two dipping sauces, which was a nice touch. The maze ramen was a big portion and even my toddler enjoyed it. The standout for me was the tempura ice cream--perfectly crisp with a thin, light shell. Service: Our server was friendly, efficient, and very accommodating. However, the host experience was frustrating. The Yelp waitlist wasn't working on a busy Friday night, which seemed to cause some disorganization. We were quoted a 25-minute wait for a party of three, but ended up waiting 45 minutes. During that time, multiple parties of three who arrived after us were seated first. When I checked in at 35 minutes, I was told we were "next," but that didn't seem to reflect what was happening. At 45 minutes, after checking again and explaining how long we'd been waiting, we were seated immediately. It was confusing and especially difficult with a hungry toddler. Parking: Parking can be tricky. The restaurant is located under an apartment complex with limited guest spots on the first floor of the garage. If it's full, you'll have to exit and find street parking (which is minimal) or park across Dublin Blvd and walk. Overall: This was close to a perfect experience. The food and server were great, but the disorganized wait and host interaction took away from it. Hopefully they improve their system for busy nights, especially if the Yelp waitlist goes down again.

I came in around 6pm and when I walked in there was 1 other table there and not busy. I would say it's a small spot that seats less than 50 people but it was nice and clean. I decided to get two rolls and a 6 piece nigiri that comes with a hand roll. Gorilla Roll - 9/10. I'm always a sucker for seared rolls. The salmon being seared gives it extra sweetness and the siracha mayo actually had a nice kick it to it and wasn't just sweet. The fried shallots on top added nice texture being crunchy with extra flavor. This was my favorite roll. Rosewood Roll - 8/10. You can taste that the fish is fresh. If you like salmon and tuna I would get this roll. What I liked about it as well was the spicy crab on top which carried a small amount of spice but adds to the flavor. Moriwase - 9/10. It comes with 6 nigiri and a hand roll. Again the fish is fresh and has good flavor. The portion was normal, definitely not small. The nigiri comes with a brush of soy sauce so no need to dip, but feel free to. I just wish it had some more wasabi cause I didn't taste any. It came with a spicy tuna hand roll which I liked a lot because it had a good kick. Service was great even though I was the only one in there after the table before me left but the lady was very nice and attentive. She even offered some home made dessert that was packaged in a cute box after having some small convo. I talked to the sushi chef and he's been making sushi for over 15 years and I could tell that he puts some passion in his craft. He told me everyone says the fish is fresh but he really tries to make the flavor known which I think he executed well. They also get their fish flown/delivered on Tuesdays/Thursday. Service was friendly, but on the slow side. The atmosphere is super informal, featuring posters of food that is not actually on the menu. Food wise, it was OK. The miso soup was pretty expensive. The best dish by far was the futo-maki roll. Really good flavor for a vegetarian roll. The 'fresh crab' in the other roll we ordered was not good. Rice being IMO the most important element in sushi was executed well, but my chirashi had all the fish served fridge cold and with pretty rough, haphazard cuts. For the overall price of the experience, it just doesn't seem worth it.
