If you haven't eaten at Koi Noodles (west loop), you're really missing out. With the classic look of a japanese restaurant, but, at the same time, it seems to be casual.l and unassuming. Everyone feels comfortable here. Where else can you get home made pork wantons and crab rangoon? The pork belly crisps are so delicious and the Host Cocktails are wonderful! We enjoyed the Pear Blossom special, Lychee Beachy, Tokyo Old Fashioned, and Lychee Lemonade and we would highly recommend all of them! Our entrees, Wagyu Short Rib Noodles (they were amazing!) and Curvy Seafood Udon. I didn't have any more room but when I heard dessert was chocolate mousse , I couldn't resist. It was a dream dessert! We loved it so much we even got our picture on the wall of fame! Check out Koi Noodles for yourself at 163 N Sangamon Street in Chicago.

Great, well-priced spot that's perfect for the cold weather!! Also had the sweetest server who was very attentive and welcoming. We got: - crab rangoons ($7 off the happy hour menu) - pork wonton soup ($15) the wonton soup had like 8-10 giant wontons with the most flavorful filling, super good! Their chili oil on the table was also the perfect addition. Signed up for their VIP list to get a complimentary ube cheesecake!

We ordered a variety of items off the menu and for the most part it was good. Kalbi was a bit too salty for me. The tofu was good as well as the noodles. Service is great and there's an open feeling there with high ceilings and plenty of space between tables.

Koi Noodles hits the mark with a cool vibe, excellent prices, and massive, fresh portions. The service was prompt, friendly, and provided great recommendations. The Highlights: * Starters: Crispy chicken wings (all drummettes! ) and pork wontons with two killer dipping sauces. * Mains: The Sichuan Beef Lanzhou Noodles were perfectly balanced with great texture, while the Seafood Curry Udon was rich and steaming hot. * Drinks & Dessert: The Lychee Beachy drink was delicious, and the mango sorbet was a fresh finish. Everything was hot, flavorful, and high-quality. They have great specials and happy hour too! We'll definitely be back!

EXCELLENT happy hour! I had their 5 spice mango-rita, which was a delicious cocktail, their salt and pepper wings (YUMMMM), and their bulgogi short rib in their original noodle soup. I honestly was blown away with the quality of the food and drink. The service was also above and beyond. Our server was so fun and attentive, and our food came out in a reasonable time. The vibe of the place is a nice place to go for dinner and drinks but still casual. You can dress up or dress down and feel comfortable. Definitely recommend!

What a cool treat! Just moved to town 3 weeks ago and I saw Koi Noodles and I wanted to check it out. From the location, food, and curated cocktails, my Hubby and I enjoyed Koi Noodles immensely! We had a couple of shots first, then we had 3 apps. The edamame was to die for! That garlic butter on the edamame was incredible! The vegan wontons were amazing! Such great flavor! The salt and pepper wings were on point! Nice and crispy and seasoned well! We shared the Ying and yang noodles and they were AMAZING! Hand pulled noodles from Scratch? Hello! Yummy! The staff here were so awesome and enjoyable! We felt we were at a friend's home, that's how welcoming and friendly Lindsey and her team were to us! Thank you for great service! The crafted cocktails? Yummy! We had a couple of shots first which were so smooth! Then we shared the 5 spice mangorita which was awesome! So on point! The restaurant is decorated so nice and we loved the wood and Asian influences on the walls, the decor is inviting. We can't wait to return for Brunch! Support local businesses!

I love the layout and detailing of the restaurant. Food came out super fast! Would definitely recommend the Wagyu brisket ramen noodles 10/10. Noodles were super fresh and chewy, just the way I like it Crab Rangoon was also perfect!

Really friendly staff and great atmosphere / decor! Enjoyed the apps a LOT! My noddle dish was also good but the meat was a little fatty

Love Koi Noodles! I got the ramen which had a super flavorful broth and a PERFECTLY cooked egg, which is often a miss at ramen places. We got several appetizers. The fried tofu was one of the best things I've ever had. This is a newer place, but the service was outstanding and the interior design was super cute! Hoping this place sticks around, as it's a great casual dining option!

Among the many different Italian, American, fancy restaurants in west loop, Koi noodles is a fresh choice for authentic Asian food. We enjoyed our meal in this clean bright space on a Friday night at the perfect location close to all the west loop action. They have great deals - we took advantage of the buy one get one soju bottles and got to try the lychee and yogurt flavor. Both were tasty! Service was great and quick as well. The staff really cares about the authenticity and quality of the food. We certainly could tell through the presentation and taste of the dishes as well! We started with the koi combo for appetizer, and this had a little sampling of everything. Everything in this sampler was so tasty - especially the bulgogi meat. I definitely recommend this dish to start. I also got a salad that paired nicely with the rest of the meal. For our entree, we shared the signature noodle soup made spicy with beef. This was delicious and kind of like a spicy beef ramen. I had a side of kimchi, and we also ordered the garlic edamame. Everything was amazing. The flavors, quality and presentation were all impressive. My mouth is watering thinking of this meal and can't wait to go back to try more dishes!

Such a cute spot! The decor and vibes are immaculate. Lot of seating and they have patio seating as well. For drinks, we tried the lychee beachy, yuzu spritz, lavender mule and pear blossom special. All the drinks were tasty and they did not skimp on the alcohol lol it was great!! My favorite was the yuzu spritz. For food, we ordered the chicken wings, pork belly crisps, salt and pepper tofu, crab rangoons, koi noodle soup, sichuan double scallion and yin & yang. So thankful they recommended the egg tofu, that might've been my favorite part of the meal!!! *currently looking up how to make it at home* lol the battering on the wings, pork belly and tofu was sooo crispy and well-seasoned. I ordered the sichuan double scallion with sichuan beef shank and jalapeños. I have a decent spice tolerance and it wasn't overly spicy, enjoyable and the beef shank was super tender! Everyone enjoyed their noodles/soup dishes. Service was great! Everyone was so friendly, attentive and helpful. They even have employee recommendations on their menu, so cute! That's actually how I chose my order lol They have bottomless mimosas with lychee and guava juice on the weekends for $35. I'm coming back for that and 5 orders of the tofu hahah. Def recommend trying this spot out!!

Amazing food, friendly staff, and cool ambiance! If you're looking for a chill spot and great noodles, I can't recommend this place enough. #KoiJoy

    Broodles

Love it here!! I've always walked past and never went in. They had an advertisement for $8 drinks so my friend and I figured why not try it out. Not only are the drinks delicious, but the food is too!! We got the Broodles (brunch noodles) and the Koi Combo to try a little of everything. The broodles were so good that I got another order to go for later! Lovely staff and everything came out really quick too! Definitely our go to place for brunch going forward! Pic of my Broodles to go because we decimated everything else lol.

Tucked into a no-frills corner on the South Side, Dai Yee's looks modest from the outside, but step in after 10 p.m. and it's pure magic. The room is packed with everybody--sneakerheads, nurses coming off shift, club kids, cops, and couples on first dates who somehow heard the legend. The vibe is chaotic in the best way: woks roaring, orders flying, and that unmistakable perfume of sizzling garlic, ginger, and chili filling the air. The food is straight-up stupid good. The Hong Kong-style salt & pepper smelts are crackly, spicy, and gone in 30 seconds. The beef chow fun has that elusive wok hei (breath of the wok) that most places only dream of, wide rice noodles slick with smoky char and tender flank steak. The black pepper beef tenderloin is velvet-soft, glossy, and aggressively peppery in a way that makes you order extra rice just to survive the happiness. The Singapore noodles are bright curry perfection, and the Mongolian beef is saucy, crispy-edged, and borderline addictive. Portions are straight out of the 90s--massive trays that could feed a family of four for under $15. Cash-only, BYOB, and everything comes out blazing hot in under ten minutes even when the place is slammed. The ladies running the show are legends: fast, funny, and they'll roast you (lovingly) if you can't handle the spice level you asked for. If you leave Chicago without hitting Dai Yee's at least once (preferably at 1 a.m. with a six-pack), you didn't really experience the city. This is real-deal, no-filter, soul-satisfying Chinese food that reminds you why we fall in love with restaurants in the first place. So I decided to try Shang Noodle, which was tucked away on a side street off Grand Ave., just steps from Michigan Ave. It's across from the Nordstrom building, past Labriola's, down some steps and about a block away located on the south side of the street. As soon as I walked in, and I wasn't expecting this but the restaurant was extremely loud and nearly every seat was taken and everybody seemed to be enjoying themself, families, couples and groups. I figured that was a good sign and it signaled to me that the food was probably good! At first, the host wanted me to sit at the bar, which I politely declined because I don't usually sit at bars, also, I was there to eat, not pick up somebody! I noticed a small table open, pointed it out, and he kindly let me take it. No 'tude either! As far as my server goes, she was efficient, friendly, and very helpful with recommendations since it was my first visit and probably because I didn't look like the other customers who were more familiar with the cuisine. She suggested the pot stickers over the hot and sour soup, and the beef Chow Fun instead of chicken Chow Fun. The pot stickers were a little small, but crispy and very tasty. I also asked for some sweet and sour sauce on the side which I'm glad I did because it paired nicely with the pot stickers instead of that plain vinegar sauce they usually serve you. For my main dish, I ordered the char-grilled beef Chow Fun. The portion size was more than generous, and the char-grilled beef had a great umami flavor. A few of the rice noodles were a bit firm, likely undercooked, but overall though it was quite enjoyable. What I appreciated the most about Shang Noodle was the value. $18 for the beef Chow Fun and $9 for the pot stickers felt reasonable to me, considering it was on the dinner menu, the portion sizes were humongous and the restaurant was located on the Near North Side, which is usually quite pricey. I'll definitely be back, though next time I may try lunch instead, or go with friends of mine.
