Not many people, which was nice. Husband ordered Cream of Crab soup and a Caesar Salad. He said they were both above standard bar food. Cream of Crab could have been a little thicker but good! I ordered a chicken cheesesteak with the fixin's on top. Delicious but if I'm being picky... more cheese! Food was delicious. Bartender was very kind for having to work lunch/brunch on a rainy Sunday. Thank you for a positive first experience. When the opportunity arises, we plan to return.

We initially came across as they participate with the inkind app. To round out our experience, a huge shoutout to Cassidy!! She was an amazing waitress and so friendly! She also made the recommendation to go with the green beans which surprisingly took us by surprise!! The overall food selection was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed all the items we ordered. Starting with the drink, we got the rosemary Szechuan and the cocktail was super balanced and tasted great! The Baltimore coddie was pretty spot on with the homemade ones I have had! The heirloom tomato and caviar sandwich was delicious . However, I do think the caviar just gets lost so it could taste just as good without. The crabonara, I highly recommend!! Very creamy and nice pieces of crab intertwined in the pasta!

I had been wanting to try out Sally O's for a while, so we finally decided to head in for dinner…read morewith some friends. The interior was cute and whimsically done up - I liked the vibes. Like being in a cool aunt's living room. We got some truffle fries to share and got the little cup of beets for an app. The fries were delicious but sometimes I wonder if too much truffles is a thing... I got the Korean tacos with the confit duck. I'll be honest I wasn't a huge fan of it. It was dry thin/crepe like, and greasy as shells go, and hard to pick up and eat it like a taco. The rest of the table also got tacos and I have to say I enjoyed my bf's veggie taco more when I sampled it. The dessert was a play on banana split with using a fried plantain instead of a banana. It was nice but I am not sure I got the satisfaction I was craving and would have gotten from a regular banana split. This was gonna be a three star for me but in the end the service bumped it to a 4 star. I bit into a very seeded slice of jalapeño and was seeing stars- steam was blowing out of my ears probably (comically so). Our server was just going by and saw my sorry state and immediately asked if I wanted a glass of milk. She could not have been kinder or faster with bringing that over and man that saved me. Thankful for her quick thinking.

I tried the seltzer and the cider on tap and the seltzer felt flat but had a good flavor. The cider was very yummy and tasted like apple pie! Our bartender was quick with the drinks but food did take a while to come out. We got the crab pretzel which was soft and flavorful and the shrimp which was fresh and perfect for an early spring appetizer! We decided not to do dinner since it was so busy but I would definitely come back to see what other beers were on rotation and check out their burgers which sounded good!

Highlight of my summer restaurant week dinner experiences last month. I went right at 5:00 so…read moreparking was easy and the restaurant was just opening so I was seated right away. The drink menu did not tickle my fancy so I ended up just having water. The restaurant week menu was a good selection of their regular menu items so it was an opportunity to try something that I could get again. I opted for the tuna as an appetizer, the whole branzino as my entree, and the zalabia for dessert. Everything was delicious! I would have liked the tuna to be more chilled; it came out closer to room temp. I have no notes for the bronzino. It was perfectly cooked, I really love the time and orange, the olive tapenade was the right amount of salty and briny, and the accompanying roasted harissa potatoes were fantastic. I guess if I had any critique it would be of the too skinny and woody asparagus. The dessert was something I'd never heard of, something like Mediterranean donuts. I really love the pistachios and the I think pomegranate sauce (it wasn't described on the menu so Im guessing), but the addition of chocolate was completely unnecessary and I'm not just saying that because I don't like chocolate lol. After dinner me and my dining companion went upstairs to the speakeasy for a cocktail. I was hoping they had a different drink menu and they did! This menu was much more interesting to me and I ended up getting a a well-balanced gin cocktail. I just read that they are closing to relocate so I'm hoping that I'll be able to go again soon.

The staff were super friendly and accommodating and so happy to have us. The food while okay seemed to have a similar flavor palette all around. Both the roll and crab dip had a sort of sweetish flavor that while not terrible was unusual and not what I was looking for. This is definitely a must visit for any local Baltimorean and any Edgar Allen poe lover. While I did not take any more photos there are so many cool decorations everywhere! There is indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of bar seating. The biggest table looked like it could only hold a party of 6, so this is more of an intimate setting.

And this led to me discovering just how much of a certifiable beer haven Max's is! For a Philly comparison I'd put Max's on the same caliber as Glory Beer Bar and Kitchen but with a beer bible on the same scale as Monk's. It's been a beer haven for going on four decades and it shows with their 100+ rotating taps, 1000+ bottles & cans, a 4 casks that feature plenty of local Baltimore brews alongside the finest from Belgium, Germany, and then some! They even have seasonal special events like a Sour Beer Fest in June, and a Rare & Obscure Beer Weekend in October. The bar interior was classic wood, with a huge main bar that showcased the many brew and spirit options. The bartenders were also spot on with their service and spot on beer suggestions. For food being so close to the waterfront had me craving some seafood, and the rockfish sandwich delivered with its Chesapeake seasoning and remoulade dressing. Each day of the week has a beer special at Max's, and Thursday meant that I was enjoying a discount on full pint cask pours. I liked that Max's had transparent pricing available for 4 oz to large pours and growlers to go on their menu for each and every draft beer, and the 4 oz pours made it easier to enjoy the 11% abv barleywine beer from a Baltimore brewery that I was curious about without feeling some extra inebriated repercussions during my ghost tour. It was extra details like that which had me really enjoying Max's and dubbing it a must visit for any beer lover visiting Baltimore.

The beers are listed by number, but nobody tells you that you're supposed to order that way. I ordered a beer by its actual name, and the bartender acted like I was an idiot for not knowing their system. And nowhere in the restaurant or on the menu does it explain how to order. And numerous other people were doing the same thing. How hard is it to make a sign and/or update your website/menu? On top of that, even if you have a table, you still have to go up to the bar to order. When the place is busy, it's a complete shitshow. You're fighting through a crowd just to get a drink while your table sits empty. Whoever came up with this ordering system clearly doesn't care about being easy to do business with. Terrible setup, and the male bartender Roberts's attitude made it even worse. Our group consisted of two bank CEO's, a law enforcement officer and a senior executive in investment banking. It is on us, as they definitely recommend calling ahead or making a reservation, so we sat around for all 10 minutes when they called and said we could sit at the bar. Perfect as we were just a party of 2 and were simply so hungry! Bartender, fantastic, he was really working his tush off, made a great strawberry crush and had great advice for what to order. We got the apple beet and arugula salad, which has this lemon caper dressing and crunch nuts that make it a whole new level to side salad. In addition we got the LD pierogis and the tavern pie with their house ranch and hot tomato jam. Freakin phenomenal. The pie was great, no pictures because again we were hungry. Devoured and moved on, I could drink the ranch, it's creamy and so packed with dill, loved every drop. The pierogis are a spin on a classic, different than any I've had, pan fried in chili oil with crispy onions and sour cream, such a good crispy twist. We will be back to try more, I could probably chow down everything on the menu with no complaints, but didn't want to put the chef through that at 8 pm on a Saturday night. No pictures here, because phone does not eat first and no one wants to see pictures of an empty plate.

It's a tight little space up front, with a fancy dive aesthetic. I forewent any alcoholic beverages and stuck with water. I ordered a fish entree (cannot recall what type of fish offhand). The food took a while to come out so the waiter offered a discount, which was cool. Food finally arrives and my fish dish was on the salty side. I ate about 2/3 of my food and had some of my friend's pizza, which was pretty good. Overall, I'd say I ordered the wrong dish and definitely want to return for a better selection. And I love the fact it goes out to outdoor seating area with beautiful views. Oh you can also come straight outside if you have your pup with you! Now onto the food, drinks were delicious, my niece cucumber mint mocktail was so refreshing too. And my white chocolate martini was so good! Onto the food, we got whipped ricotta (yummy!) , crispy chicken littles (pretty good), and crispy chicken fried rice. Now on this one, gotta stay I wasn't expecting 2 chicken legs and fried rice... but more chicken, though for the taste, a little bit too salty and mush to my liking . Some people may like it but I'll most likely be ordering something else next time.
