Walking in the layout is nice and spacious with some tables and outlets besides each one conveniently nice to recharge is appreciated especially as I had some errands and took this opportunity to rest and recharge literally, Glancing over the menu I noticed they have Tomato Bisque Soup..,yum! The didn't have it :( second choice was their Caprese Sandwich which was quite huge served on focaccia bread which was absolutely delicious though not being warmed or toasted did made it quite disappointing in my personal opinion and wished they had that option as the filling was so nice and fresh with Kamuela tomatoes, huge chunks of mozzarella cheese, smear of person on each slice and balsamic glaze must brought it all together but ended up eating it open faced as it was too much bread but did pair it with Strawberry Meji Latte... It's their barista Kaylee special and indeed it was as it's espresso with mocha, milk and topped with strawberry cold foam not only did it look stunning but tasted very light and smooth it all worked perfectly and I really enjoyed it. I did arrived late in the day but the staff was very nice and friendly as I had the place all to myself lol it's a great rest spot or to have some work done while enjoying their menu options is why I'd definitely return here and hope that they have that soup as well. Mocha ( Ghiradelli ) with a strawberry cold foam cap. It was okay. I had a 24-hour intestinal bug on Monday...and the mocha and whole milk...well, let's just say I would have had an accident in my SUV, if it was Tuesday, and not due to road / traffic conditions...enough said. They acquire their beans from Green World Farm in Wahiawa...locally sourced. I just wish they made their syrups and sauces in-house or purchased from a local source. Their food menu is appealing. I will defo give them another shot...espresso based...before updting my review. Also, order a sandwich or bagel. Interior is clean, uncluttered. They have a mezzanine for additional seating. Lotus Cafe has a sister location in Kaimuki - which I have never visited. Kailua location has been open about 2.5 months; situated in the old Le Crepe Cafe unit. Hours are 900a till 400p daily. Parking in the back or on Hekili Street. There was a time when there weren't many options for coffee in Kailua ( not counting the corporate chains ) and now there is an abundance.

I had a classic breakfast sandwich which consisted of their own baked bread, eggs, cheese, tomatoes, and bacon with their garlic herb butter. It's cooked panini style or looks more like a fancy grilled cheese sandwich. It was very good. I usually have tomatoes with a lunch sandwich so having tomatoes in a breakfast sandwich was different. But, the combination of all the ingredients was delicious. The tomatoes were firm and not soggy, the bacon was just right crispy, and the cheese melted nicely onto the eggs. Overall all, a sandwich worth getting if I was in the area again.

We got the Corned beef and cabbage for $5.99. It was ala carte, so we added Roasted carrots for $2.29. Ancient grains and tofu were $5.29. We also got a bottle of kombucha. Yay! For those who don't have time for a Hot lunch, the refrigerator had salads, sandwich, fruit cups, yogurt cups, etc. for grab and go meals. Service was friendly and efficient. Parking on the other hand was a breeze though a full lot it is free and with a bit of patience and luck we got a stall and seek this spot that apparently has some yummy weekly specials. Located in the main hospital building you just need to navigate to an elevator where it will take you to the lower level and poof there it is....yeah! The Bistro is very nice and clean with comfortable seating as we chose a very cushy booth/banquette seating as i sat on a chair that had nice back support which made it a very nice spot to relax and it's essential for the food coma we were about to encounter as today's special was Corned Beef and Cabbage. With prices from $0.80 for toast to $8.99 for the Windward Loco Moco the affordability here is just astounding though all items are Ala carte the volume they serve makes you think twice about that extra serving. Did I mentioned that today's special is Corned Beef and Cabbage and at $5.99 a serving that was an amazing deal along with a side of Ancient Grains making it a complete meal. The staff here are delightfully friendly and this spacious spot offers so much besides a lovely hot meal with a huge display case filled with grab and go cold items like sandwiches, salads and many other items.
