not really even just OK. went on a sunday afternoon. everything was well stocked. the servers were very attentive. our glasses stayed full and dirty dishes got bussed. i like that there's fresh veggies to grill (mushrooms, onions, whole garlic cloves, bell pepper, carrots, squash) and lots of different kinds of kimchi. i like that it's AYCE but for three people it was a hundred bucks and two drank only water and the other had a soda. given their posted pricing, can you help me with the math? the biggest problem was the quality of the meat. all the beef was gristly and tough. dairy cattle are best ground for cheap burgers and not served in K-style BBQ places. there are other close by places with better food and better value. next time, i'm gonna make the drive. read more

Expensive ($27.99). Too salty. This is a buffet style AYCE KBBQ meaning you go hand pick whatever you like to eat. Meat choices are good. They have marinated galbi (short ribs). However the marinade on most things were extremely salty. There is a huge rice cooker you can help yourself to. Vegetables or banchans are also buffet style. Bulgogi sauce and salt and oil are all there. They even have miso soup lol Interior is decently sized. However the buffet area is in a corner where it's easy to bump into people while you're grabbing meats/kimchi/rice etc. Service was good initially while they were serving one other table that was present. Then towards the end of our lunch, it was like a ghost town. No servers in sight. No sign of any sort. They just all disappeared. We just wanted to pay and leave them be. Overall, I live very close to here and that's mainly why we decided to try it once. If we had more time, we'd probably drive to Manna BBQ in San Marcos or some place near Convoy. We originally wanted to go to Gaja for KBBQ but the wait was 2 hr so we decided to try this place. Worse decision ever. The meat was frozen, there was no rice paper, and the service was... awkward. 1. All the meat was chewy, especially the pork! It was dry and very hard to eat. The best thing there was the MUSHROOMS LOL 2. The place was self serve so we were able to get our own utensils and items. The owner was upset and took away the extra tongs we got to cook our meat. they would look at us whenever we got our food and only changed our grill once. They never serviced us other than wanting to take away our plates. 3. Worse thing was, they automatically wrote their own 18% tip (after tax) without notifying us that gratuity was included. We always tip but this was the first time they wanted us to do it without even servicing us. 4. This place was average to me. The pros are that I can put as little or as much meat as i want to grill since it is all put on the buffet. It was a good selection and I enjoyed being able to select portions so I would jot be worried to try a meat out. The cons is that the actual side dishes are not Korean. More like Chinese cold dishes which is fine but if you are wanting the kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumber in the Korean style then this is not it. The meats were fine just not as up to quality as some other ayce places. But I do have to say it was nice I did not have to worry about ordering a portion that I could not finish since I could just get it myself. read more

This place honestly blew our expectations out of the water. I highly recommend this place, especially if other spots are busy or if you want to control your portion for Korean bbq. We were skeptical for a while because there were not many photos of the inside or the menu (I regret not taking more photos that would do this business justice). However, my friends and I were pleasantly surprised during our visit. There's a decent selection of different kinds of meat (beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, lamb) as well as veggies and side dishes (including rice). It's pretty much buffet-style aside from the drinks. It was AWESOME! I personally enjoyed it and I think the quality of the meat was much better than I anticipated. I really enjoyed the beef short ribs and (thin) ribeye. Staff was busy but were friendly and accommodating when they noticed we needed them. We were 5 and our table had 2 grills so plenty of room for everyone. I enjoyed it because my grill (shared amongst 3 people) was kinda just divided into 3 so we could cook our own meat we wanted. My other friends used their grill and cooked lots of meat on it just like any other kbbq so that they could all share. I'm picky so being able to choose what I want and just cook it myself in my own little world was nice. But you can definitely cook it regularly and share it with everyone. They also have a button that you get one chance to press. It has a timer and if you can stop it at exactly 10.0 your next visit back will be free! One try per person. We were driving a long distance in traffic and spontaneously stopped by this local place after finding it on yelp. Was truly looking forward to yummy Korean bbq, but sadly, was disappointed. First, dead giveaway was that the restaurant was empty. No other diners. Very, very limited food selection, both in proteins and side dishes so did not have much variety. This place tries to scam you by not telling you that on weekends they charge $27.99 dinner fee all day instead of the $21.99 lunch price. Inside they have meats are labeled for the dinner menu only. My boyfriend and I came in at lunch because of the enormous sign they have hanging out front advertising the lunch pricing. When we got the bill we were charged for 2 dinners, I asked about why and the waiter told me that the deal doesn't include the weekends. So why wouldn't you clearly state that on the sign?? They purposely mislead you. My boyfriend and I ate only the lunch items to get the lunch pricing. I also asked for donuts because they ran out and my waiter told me that it would come out in 7 minutes. It didn't and I saw her standing there just WATCHING us. I asked AGAIN about the donuts and she said they would come out soon. We were basically ushered to pay and I did expecting the donuts to come out. They still didn't. I ended up asked another person and he said they would come out in about 5 minutes. These people make no sense and have no care about customer service, only about getting people to come in for a quick buck. Take this review as a heavy warning. read more

Came here for dinner last night and I like the concept of buffet style but after thinking about it, it's not sanitary at all. The only meat I liked was the beef bulgogi everything g else had a funny taste or wasn't good. Miso and potstickers were the only thing I really enjoyed to be honest. Waiters stare at you while you're eating but it makes it super uncomfortable. My husband and child have been in and out kind the bathroom after eating here so we def will not be returning. We went to MBBQ for a birthday dinner. We had a reservation for seven of us and we got there a few minutes late but there was barely anybody there. They were awaiting us and had a nice table set up in the middle of the restaurant. We had two servers who were very attentive. There was a bit of a language barrier in terms of ordering our drinks but their menus have photos so that's helpful. For all you can eat barbecue it is $23.95 per person which includes miso soup, side salad's, a wide selection of different meats to choose from, sauces, and appetizers. We also ordered Sakè. They have hot and cold sakè as well as different flavors of soju. The grape flavor was popular at our table. I've been to Korean BBQ's before and sometimes I leave smelling like smoke and meat and I need to basically dry clean my clothes. This wasn't too bad. We cooked our food in front of us my fiancé cooked the meat and I cooked the vegetables. I really enjoyed the entire experience because you don't feel super full after since you're cooking, eating, and enjoying the experience. The prices are reasonable for what you get. The place itself is nothing fancy but the food is worth it. There is also a really fun game they have available-you start the timer and if you can stop at exactly on 10 seconds you will win a free, all you can eat barbecue meal. Worst 34 bucks I spent for lunch ever. Tips should be minimal since you basically serve yourself. They should at least have Korean tofu soup instead of instant miso lol. Nothing really stood out except for the dipping choices which were nice. The meats were terrible except if you find the brisket that has the excess fat that has fallen off. The food was honestly terrible! I mean it wasn't nasty but it definitely taste as though they used the exact same sauce for all of the food. Very limited options compared to places like Gaja KBBQ and they charge a dollar less for the lunch menu not many side dishes and the rice was a little too dry for my taste. The service was also not up to par. The people made us feel like they were rushing us and looked at us weird when we went to go get more food at the bar. When we asked for a grill change they asked us if we were done yet?!?!!? Like no I asked for a grill change because we are getting more so stop rushing us. There are plenty of people that actually came in and out quickly and that's cool but I felt like we were the bother for getting more than one item or plate. It was not a very pleasant experience. I would prefer to take the extra 50 min to go to downtown San Diego and go to gen kbbq or go 10 min over to gaja kbbq they are nice to their guests and have the best food! Not once will they ask you if you are done they let you ask for the check and let you finish any food even after you pay the bill. It's unlike any of the other K BBQ's I've been too...There is a little meat bar off to the side with the veggie bar as well! So when you want more meat or veggies you'll have to get it yourself!
